Marie's Restaurant

Haven't been there in a long time. By chance we were in Wadsworth for doctor and it was our first thought to get some Marie's. Ordered over 70.00 in food drove home knowing we'd have to reheat (happy to do so!!) Pepperoni pizza with xtra sauce and cheese was raw after reheating in oven. Jojos undercooked. Chicken great, coleslaw great, other pizza great. We wanted to love it. It's usually so good.

Marie's is a casual Itialian restaurant with your typical Italian fare of pasta dishes, pizzas, and sandwiches. They also offer chicken dinners. We arrived close to opening, so there was no issue with getting seated. Our server was friendly and efficient. I had the Italian sub sandwich. It had a fair amount of meat, and I thought it was tasty. My wife had the shrimp scampi. She said it needed a bit more garlic, but the shrimp were cooked well. Meals came with garlic bread and marinara. The prices are quite reasonable.

Garlic bread was a great start. Wings were really good. Pizza was a little burnt but was still good with a lot of toppings.

The lasagna was pretty good (ricotta cheese layered with noodles). Plenty of marinara sauce. My wife ordered the fried chicken dinner. The chicken breasts were a little dry (she likes it that way). Jo-Jo's were crispy outside but were just right on the inside. The hot rice was Excellent! Thick spicy firm rice, not runny. Better than any chicken house in Barberton. Service was not great, no refills, wrong fried chiken meal came out, forgot side dish of spaghetti twice, and didn't recieve the last breast till we paid the bill.

When I was eating my leftovers the next day, I looked for my side salad. Well, they forgot to give it to me. I called in and asked if I could drive 40 minutes AGAIN to pick it up. They asked for my receipt but I never got one because I told them I didn’t need one. Soooooo, no side salad for my pasta and they told me they could not give me my side salad without a receipt. LAST TIME I DRIVE 40 minutes for Marie’s!!!! Wow- I have never have such impolite service in my entire life! Don’t order from them unless you live close by and MAKE SURE TO GET YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!

Called and ordered my food. Didn't get what I asked for. Drive home 40 min ONE WAY call there and they say oh well we can't do anything unless you bring it back?! Didn't they show you the pizza before u left? No they tried to give me someone else's order. Then finally found mine. How aggravating . I just drive 40 min home . I'm not about to drive 80 more min to fix a damn pizza. Not very good customer service. Very disappointed. I was so excited I was getting married tonight because their never open when I'm in town and they were open ... Well I should have went to dominos. Very disappointed in Marie's staff! 12-5-25 7pm.

2nd time here and went i with a "to go" coupon they sent me. Ordered a beer to wait for "to go" order and placed order, not knowing coupon expired a week prior. They said they wouldn't honor. Ok, but given the competitive restaurant business(i have experience), why would they allow me to leave with a sour taste in my moth? Very disappointed. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Off the top, Kaylee our server was AWESOME ! Very attentive despite being very busy. Dad and me got a large pizza which was perfectly don't, crispy crust! Unlike the thin crust garbage Donato's tries to pass as pizza ! No intended offense to those mid/southern OH fans of that style....... Not me. Prompt n quick service was key at such a busy time. DO NOT SIT in restaurant booth with your back to the station where they dump dirty dishes. 3x stacks of dirty dishes were just dumped into the bins making a "LOUD and HARD FELT vibration to me as I was sitting trying to eat my dinner. I turned around and suggested to Not Throw the stack into the bins. With that she tossed a hand full of silverware into another bin.

Update....Ok got two pizzas today with a coupon (2-large 1 topping pizzas for $33.99). Called and placed the order and was told 20 minutes. I arrived in 23 minutes and the pizzas were ready and hot. They were extremely busy but they moved the pick up line quickly, I waited maybe 2 minutes in line, which is completely acceptable. I am updating my review because I'm hoping they keep up the good work. The pizza was excellent. If this continues, I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Better than expected. Wait staff were fast and friendly. The food didn't look like it was going to be that great, but it was actually pretty good. Both the lasagna and chicken parm were very good. Would come back again.

Ordered for takeout. Was told that it would be about 35 minutes. Ordered meatball sandwich, jojos and a small pizza. Got there was told a few minutes. 40 minutes later, still nothing. When food finally showed up, the bread was not cooked, meatballs cold, sauce cold. Pizza was cold and had been sitting for over an hour. The jojos were burnt. This seems to be normal for call in orders. Horrible food. Horrible service.

We come in very often. Gracie the hostest seats us every time. We love Gracie, she's the best, she needs a raise

Best pizza hands down in the midwest! I give zero focks about the old place that's been gone for 20 years! 100% Mom and pops.

Very disappointed in the service and food at Marie's restaurant. Waited 45 minutes from the time of ordering to when food was served. Floors had food all over. First and last time to visit this restaurant.

The food is delicious great salads and pizza The chicken is the best. I've always enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is very family friendly!!

Decent menu and reasonable prices. But the service was the poorest I've ever received. The staff seemed more interested in talking among themselves than service by the customers.

We were looking for an Italian restaurant and someone suggested we try Marie's. even though they are short on staff our service was ok no problem there. My niece ordered the chicken parm and the chicken breast was so over cooked she couldn't chew it while the sauce was bland. The great- niece ordered the chicken Alfredo, again over cooked chicken and the Alfredo was lacking flavor. I tried the Shrimp Scampi and was greatly disappointed. Do the cooks even taste the food they are cooking? where is the seasoning, the garlic, oregano. What a disappointment.

Food is decent and I enjoy their rigatoni dish. However, the service is usually (always) pretty slow. We have to wait a long time to order and for our food to arrive. It is a family-friendly restaurant and we always seem to be seated next to screaming children as well. I would recommend carry out instead of dining in.

The trouble with restaurants where the food is superior is that they don't have to care about service. We drove 45 minutes to go here last night. My wife got the ravioli and I got the chicken, like we have in past visits. 50+ minutes later we are still waiting. In the meantime, three tables who came in after us had been long served, and one couple had actually finished and gone on their way. Finally, we got fed up and left. On the way out, I asked to see the manager. She greeted us with a nasty attitude. I told her what happened and that we were leaving. She offered no apology... just "Well, I had two people walk out on me tonight, and you should have told your server." You know what, lady? F U. I told her we would NEVER be back because of her attitude. She gave me an "I don't care" kind of shrug, gave a dismissive wave at me and walked away. We will NEVER, NEVER go back to this place.

You really can't beat Marie's. One of the owners is always there. The food is very good and they give you plenty with homemade bread sticks brought to the table. Prices are reasonable and there's usually not a long wait if any. Employees all are very nice and accommodating.

Dinner today with family, It was really good prices are pretty decent for portion size.

Was so disappointed tonight. Took 50 minutes to get served. The food was just bad. I had the Italian sausage sandwich. The sausage was excellent but the roll was poor quality and the fries were oil soaked potatoes. Fries should always be crisp. Here is the rue. After waiting 50 minutes to get the food, the waitress said the fries will come out in a while. And by the time they came I was almost done with the sandwich. The fries were soggy. Just a bad overall experience.

Had a great simple dinner of salad and breadsticks. The house dressing is delicious and the breadsticks with marinara are just perfect for a light meal. Service was great too.

Met colleagues after work for drinks and dinner. The bartender was attentive and helpful. We had a party of six. The service was really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The pizza looked amazing. The lasagna really looked home made. The fried chicken and jojos were plentiful. I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was delicious. The marinara sauce was really really good. The only downside which is minor; for a party of six, the table was small. It was after 7:00 pm. And they weren't overly busy. There were plenty of tables. It would've been helpful to put another table for a little more elbow room. Highly recommend!

Ate here last night, and wow--phenomenal! Easily the best pizza ever. The flavors, the crust, everything was spot on. We also got the mozzarella sticks and the hot combo sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. But that pizza? Next level! The place was super busy, so the service was just okay--not bad, just a bit slow. But honestly, that's a sign of how popular this spot is, and the food was well worth the wait. If you're a pizza lover, do yourself a favor and check this place out! Would definitely come back!

We were traveling through Wadsworth last evening and remembered our favorite pizza place from 25 years ago. So we stopped at the relocated (since we left Wadsworth) restaurant. It certainly did not disappoint. We loved our food and service at Marie's Restaurant last night. Salad with homemade Italian dressing was delicious. Bread sticks were soft and perfectly seasoned. Spaghetti with homemade sauce and meatballs was delicious. Our server was kind and efficient. We were very impressed by the many workers throughout the restaurant. Everyone working together to make our experience a great one. You need to stop and check out this restaurant!

I really can't say much because all I got was the Italian Wedding Soup. We met family that was visiting from South Carolina. I have heard great things about the food and they were very busy. Plan to go back and actually eat,

Wonderful dining experience! Ate here for the first time and I don't know why I didn't eat here before. All food items were freshly prepared. Really enjoyed the bread loaf appetizer, antipasto salad that came with fresh bread sticks, and loved the pizza. The sauce here was super delicious. The staff, very helpful, friendly, and attentive. Hard-working team members here! We had some left-over pizza and breadsticks the next day. Both were super tasty reheated. Will be back here again soon to try other menu items.

My boyfriend and I visited Marie's for dinner, and it was a frustrating experience from the start. We stood at the hostess stand for a while before someone finally came over, only to lead us to a table with no silverware in the back because the rest of the restaurant wasn't cleaned. When we finally ordered, the pizza was so oily that it dripped down my hand--it was disgusting. The fettuccine Alfredo was just as bad, tasting like something straight out of a can. To top it off, we were confused about the payment process. After leaving our tip, we found no one at the front to assist us, and the server didn't even tell us what to do. It was all very awkward, and we left feeling completely dissatisfied. We won't be coming back.

I love this place! It all started on a visit home when our normal 1st-night-Lisa's-home restaurant had started closing on Mondays. My younger brother suggested Marie's, and the food and service were both superb. This time, several of my aunts and uncles came - we ended up with a party of 17 and the service was still spectacular, the food still delicious! The menu has variety - from fish to chicken to classic Italian dishes, everyone left happy, full, and with lunch for the next day. The garlic bread is so good I took most of my rigatoni home!! I had been on several trips home without my husband, so this time was his first eating there, and he liked it so much he asked to go back the next night for dinner. (Yes, we did!)

Absolutely nothing wrong with Marie's Restaurant if you find yourself looking for good pizza in the Wadsworth area! Really tasty pizza, generous salads, and pretty attentive service. We just had a cheese pizza the last time, but I've never had a bad pizza there. Also, insider tip, order a salad with your meal, get free breadsticks, which is basically cooked pizza dough, with cheese and herbs, served with their house made marinara. And even though it was a busy Sunday evening, our food came out fast, hot, and just the way we ordered. Will definitely stop back next time we are in the area!

When we arrived at Marie's it was snowing rather hard, and we parked next to the spot that had a reserved sign on it for the owner, upon getting out of our car and half way to the entrance an employee came running out and asked if I would move my car because the owner was coming in and he is 98 years old and some one else had parked in his reserved spot. I agreed and moved my car to another spot as my wife made her way inside. Now we are both senior citizens, after we were seated, we looked for the owner to say hello, we have been going to Marie's since before we were married, (so longer than 41 years) to our surprise who walks in the door "Gary" so I moved my car for Gary to park next to the building, Gary, who is younger than both of us, had an employee ask us to move so he wouldn't have to walk through the snow... WHAT A MANAGER GARY IS...UNBELIEVABLE, what an egotistical piece of work, the place has really started going down hill and now we know why... HOPE you didn't get your feet wet GARY...

I've been driving by Marie's Restaurant for a year and a half, but I've never dined there. So I finally took the family for dinner at a busy time on Friday evening. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. Our server was fast and friendly. I ordered the Marie's signature salad, my wife ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, my son a cheese pizza and fries, and my daughter, chicken alfredo. It took a long time for the food to arrive, but the place was packed. It was evident that they are known for their pizza, but I'm on a diet that excludes pizza for now. My salad was a massive portion and it was yummy. I'd estimate that it weighed over 2 lbs! Everyone liked their food. My son told me that his dinner was 4 out of 5 stars. My daughter told me that her pasta was 3 stars, but she felt bad saying it. It didn't knock her socks off. There are other menu items that look tasty and maybe when I'm done with my diet, I'll stop by for some pizza. Good stuff!

Chicken had weird plastic crunch to it , no it wasn't the breading. Woody chicken, cheap chicken? It was on my parmesan sandwich. Couldn't eat it

We love this place. Perfect family restaurant with a lot of daily specials. It isn't fancy, just a great all around restaurant. They are taking many precautions, masks, paper menus, giant partitions, and the place is huge so it's easy to space everyone apart. We love their pizza!!! But their chicken parmesan is amazing, my favorite. Don't forget to get a tiramisu. Their fried chicken is really great and jojos. The staff is friendly and very often seen the owner hanging around (my kids feel like he is a celebrity).

I used to visit Marie's in the old location since I was 5 years old. I moved away when I was 12 and kept coming back. I still visit at least once every 6 months and the service has been top notch every time. The pizza is the same as I remember it. The lunch time buffet (pre covid) was truly amazing as a bargain and allows you to sample various foods from the menu at once. I fail to see what the bad reviews are saying. I only have Marie's once every few months so I savor and never take for granted how good the food is.

The food is amazing especially the pizza and the service is ok, but what makes this review 3 stars is the cleanliness, the bathroom had floors super dirty and the toilets weren't clean. I cant take photos it was so bad

Been going here for over 30 years and it still rarely disappoints. Sure the pizza isn't the same as back in the day at the old location, but it's still the best pizza in town. REALLY good sausage and basic ingredients. Old school to say the least. If you're looking for a more modern pie this is not the place. Otherwise you won't regret it.

Left without eating after the hostess was incredibly rude, threw the menus across the table, and was short with us, all while scowling. Our 6 year old used better manners. We won't be back with service like that.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, not to mention INSULTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to eat here last night approx. 6'ish p.m. No one waiting in lobby area. Stood and waited & waited, saw no hostess... Decided to wash our hands, hopeful a hostess would appear. Again, we waited, waited, & waited... Wife finally made eye contact with an older gal in the pizza kitchen area. She hurried out to the area, then the young gal who looked at us MANY times while we stood there & stood there... then hurried to the hostess stand! The place was NOT even busy, and there were MANY empty tables. Asked for a window seat, as we had two dogs in the car, & A/C was running. Young gal states she must ask her boss permission...? So we waited & waited some more. She comes back to the hostess stand only to tell us, "My boss said NO!" There were people eating by the windows, and several empty tales by the windows... Young gal says they have closed the window seats...??? Then she states: "My boss says that you are welcome to get up from any table & go to the windows, to check on your dogs during our meal..." She said she only had one tale she was allowed to seat us at...?? Place was 75% empty!!! So we were seated at a table. Then waited, and waited, and waited... Like we were invisible. Three different parties were seated after us, they all had drinks AND orders were taken!!!??? (Saw the hostess & a younger weightlifter guy laughing & talking, most likely about us.. Made eye contact & they quickly dispersed!!! He was VERY nervous, continually cracking his knuckles & itching at his armpit. It made him uncomfortable, that we sat as long as we did...!) Finally after 30+ minutes of sitting there & not even offered a drink, we decided to leave... TERRIBLE & INSULTING! Passing the young dingy hostess in route to the door, she actually tells us to have a good night!!??? Hubby asked her if this is a business, or just a place that enjoys upsetting & insulting people...? She smiled! We made eye contact with older gal in the pizza kitchen area, we told her that no one would even wait on us... She then offered to seat us, & get a server right away; but between waiting to be seated initially, and sitting at the table for so long, we had almost an hour in our wait... We were NEVER even offered a drink...!!! Folks that we know that are locals, told us to stay away from Marie's. They told us that most locals know they are NOT what they used to be... Sad but true it seems... What a terrible & insulting experience. So sad that they just don't care, with exception of the older gal at the pizza counter... Should have stayed in Canton,Ohio!

The worst old dough pizza not sliced. Oven tender threw my pizza on counter and said here you go. Very unprofessional also got the Italian sliver. Can't call it sub with less than ounce of meat. $38.00 dollars should make a police report. lol worst ever went off of a tix tox review from Derrick. Maybe if he was served honest portion for his announced visit. So if you never been DONT.

The food was very tasty, service fast and atmosphere very nice. We got there early (15 minutes) people were waiting outside in line....so we joined them. Doors open at 4 and it filled up FAST!! I think that's a good sign...food is good.

I just paid almost $18 for the worst spaghetti dinner I've ever attempted to eat. If this is what Wadsworth calls Italian food-just stop! Thank God it came with a salad and some sort of bread they called "garlic". Get a new recipe for sauce and look up the term "Al dente" please. Never again Marie!

Absolutely terrible place!! My 76 year old grandparents went there to eat and after my grandpa questioned the manager because they over charged him, 2 of their employees got in his face and yelled at him and one of them through him through the front door and he landed on his back. We WILL be suing!

We enjoy going to Marie's, not only for their pizza and other Italian food, but, oddly enough, for the very best hamburgers in the whole area! 1/2 pound of great ground beef, which the two of us usually carry in half to eat, thereby cutting in half the cost of our dinner. These days we are ordering takeout. And it is as good as the dine-in food. However, today we were sorely disappointed. When we arrived to pick up our order, not one single employee was wearing a mask, including the cashier. Also, because Marie's makes it possible to see into the kitchen through a very large picture window, we could see that, in the very busy kitchen, not one single employee there was wearing a mask either, whether working at the stove, or doing other chores. This experience gives us pause. We want to patronize A restaurant that cares about its customers enough to wear masks. If they do not care about us that much, we will take our business elsewhere. It would be a shame.

Danielle and I had a delicious dinner last night at Marie's. We each ordered a spaghetti dinner - mine with meatballs. 3 weeks ago we'd had dinner at Marie's and I'd also decided a simple spaghetti dinner that night, too. It was so good (except for one of the 2 meatballs - it tasted weird to me) I had spaghetti again the next night at Joe's Deli. Sadly, it wasn't as good there. Since then, I'd been reliving the spaghetti at Marie's over and over again in my head - mostly the incredible, zesty sauce. So, when Danielle suggested it for dinner last night, I jumped at the opportunity to go to Marie's for that spaghetti. It was just as good - better, in fact, because both meatballs were delicious. Also helping the experience was our server - Terry. One of the worst aspects of Marie's has always been the service. Read the reviews. It always comes up. Maybe management has done something different. I don't know. Terry was, unquestionably, the best server we've ever had there. He was polite and just attentive enough. When our breadsticks were delivered, they were hard as a rock. It happens. We asked Terry for new ones. No problem. In fact, whenever we had any request, no problem. And, it looked like Terry was also tending bar so that was doubly impressive. Thanks Terry. Service like that has been unusual at Marie's and is just what customers want and expect. That kind of service plus the delicious food will keep us coming back to Marie's for years to come.

Ordered the eggplant parm with angel hair. The sauce was good and eggplant also well done. Plus, the dinner salad with Italian was exceptional in its simplicity. They also provided garlic bread and sauce when you sit down. Glad we chose this place to eat as we drove home.

I have been going here for years. Their pizza is one that your crave from time to time. Lately, I always seem to be getting the parmigiana sandwich. This thing is huge and comes with its homemade bun. Need I say more! In addition, their breadsticks, OMG. Yum yum!

The last two pizzas have not been very good . Today's pizza was overcooked and bland. Used to be worth the drive to get this pizza, not anymore!

Absolutely terrible service. Hands down would NOT recommend. Ordered personal pizza , 40 minutes later still no pizza , had to flag down waitress who acted as if she couldn't see me looking for her, she checks and informs pizza was delivered to a different table . I would think the waitress would have seen a simple personal pizza not delivered 40 minutes later and check up on it. Didn't offer an apology or credit to bill (ordered salad as well). Terrible !
