Marigold Hotel

There's coffee, tea and hot water in the reception area which is very nice and thoughtful. Room lights are too dim for me. Not suitable if want to put on make up. Gym is not inclusive. Its located outside and cost 10 000 won per visit. Gym is well equipped though.

Really well located, so close to plenty of great bars and food options. This area gets pretty busy during the night and was a good place to introduce me to Seoul and get my bearings. The rooms were a bit dark - good when trying to sleep in, not so good when trying to chill out and relax.

Clean, well appointed, and priced well. Great location for transportation as two lines are within a quick walk. The room was very nice and the restaurants were great as well. Breakfast was decent, but not something I would do again.

I would say the price is not worth it. The floor feels sticky and oily eventhough they claimed to clean it everyday. Gym and sauna not included as the hotel service. Some people made a comment saying ”the only good thing about this hotel is the location” VERY TRUE!!! There is 11 floors in the hotel, the higher the level, the darker the hallway. Every room is always given one card only, very uncovenient, u had to top up another 10,000 won to get the cards. NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU ARE TRYING TO FIND SOME RELAXATION. There is 19 of us staying there, 90% of us kept talking about how unhygienic is this place and how much they regret making the choice of choosing to live here. There is nicer hotel and some boutiques hotel near this hotel, so don’t make this hotel your first choice!!!

Apart from cheap price and good location, this hotel is dusty and absolutely dirty. I started coughing when the air conditioning was turned on. You'll even find the cups and even furniture are sticky. Better to bring your own kettle, towels and cups.

My room was very very dark, even with all lights on, not to mention the controls of the lights was horrible (confusing and if you turn it off a huge bright led shone next to the bed, disturbing your sleep, but not really in hands reach). It looked like an underground room even thought it was in the 7th floor, the windows were a joke. The walls were looking very worn and there were no convinient power outlets. The ones that were there were worn and falling down and with bad contract issues. I would barely give this hotel 3 stars, much less 4. The toiletries were below Korean standards and we had much better in much cheaper hotels. The air con also dripped on the clothes I separated to travel and they were completely wet in the morning. The only two good things of that room was a comfortable bed and toilet sit, nothing else. I'm very disappointed. This was supposed to be the best hotel in my stay in Korea, but ended up being the worst, even thought I went through 7 other places, none 4 stars and some being hostels.

One star is not even worthy. one of the worst business hotel where I have visited. hairs and dust on the floor.. really nothing to say about its hygienic status, just worst. Never use this thing. The hotel grade is deceptive. don't trust it. I complained and they tried to change the room. but I cancelled my reservation and changed to other hotel. waste of time and energy!

rooms are dimly lit and winter ventilation is bad as only heater is on or off. no option of aircon. window opens to within the building so not much wind comes in as well. decent size for Seoul hotel rather spacious. great location within minutes from heart of Hongdae
