Marigot Bay Resort and Marina | Condé Nast Traveler

"Perched on a hillside fronting lovely Marigot Bay, this 122-room resort is a haven of low-key elegance. A long footpath lined with frangipani and ginger lilies leads to a dimly lit reception area. Guest rooms with wooden plantation shutters and wide verandas are given modern touches such as Brazilian hardwood flooring, Wi-Fi, and pillowtop beds. Slate-tiled bathrooms are a room highlight, with their pizza-size showerheads and generous toiletries. Some staff are noticeably greener than others, though as a whole the service is friendly. There’s only one full on-site restaurant, The Grill 14°61°, but a quick ferry ride across the bay can whisk you to other lively eateries."

Staycation day pass, I emailed prior to book the staycation pass for myself and 4 other guests The hotel confirmed we could attend and we arrived today via boat (the only highlight of the day) I don’t know where to start The hotel was having building work done to the front dock… which was causing noise and dust… the second dock was having bags of rubble delivered all day and this was being carried through the hotel… The facilities at the hotel are poor, they hadn’t even cleaned up the sunbed areas from The previous day, there was cups with cigarette butts inside them and loads of empty bottles. (The reception knew we coming for the day, it wouldn’t have taken a few minutes to clean up) The sunbeds are poor, tatty and falling apart, the doolittles restaurant which is described as one of the best on the island probably might have been many years ago, but now it’s just tatty and run down. And not very hygienic at all! Yes the scenery is stunning But a view can only account for so much. I feel a bit cheated by the hotel that they would charge $130 US dollars per person and Not pre-warn us about the hotel having extensive and disruptive building work that day. We walked onto the beach and the locals trying to sell you drugs was so intimidating that I had to just turn around and walk away, they were so persistent with trying to make us have some cocaine that they wouldn’t leave us alone… luckily our boat driver that we hired for the day recognised us and ushered the locals away, and even came to check we were okay, this is my second time in St Lucia and I’ve never experienced this aggression for locals before. It was a really poor day which I feel totally ripped off for. I would recommend hiring a private water taxi for a tour that drives you into Marigot bay, but I wouldn’t get off the boat.

The rooms are dated and could use a little more furniture as the studios are large rooms. The kitchen is not fully stocked for preparing meals, but if you are planning to cook, it is no big deal. The price is amazing for a week and the surrounding is very beautiful. Just know there are many steps to get to your room. The housekeeping service are amazing, they are very helpful and friendly. It's only ever other day but that is just fine!

Not a dive resort!||There is no on site PADI centre and hasn't been for several years, though travel companies (TUI in our case) are still mis-selling it as such. They can arrange third party pickups for dive trips but that isn't the same at all. In a state of general disrepair. I expect that the entire resort will be featured on one of those abandoned places type TV programs in the near future. Many of the advertised amenities are permanently closed. Staff are limited in what they can do and obviously stressed. Food is limited, poor quality and exceedingly overpriced. Breakfast is utterly woeful. Bar is dead. ||The spa is basically having reception book someone to come give you a massage. If you expect spa amenities to include a sauna, plunge pool, jacuzzi etc then forget it as they are all permanently closed.||Worst aspect is the location. The access by motorised raft may sound exotic but really it isn't. Then 1 mile over a steep hill to the nearest bus stop. Taxis are $$$ and there are extremely limited local amenities which are eye wateringly overpriced. There really is very little to do here. I would suggest that you need a car to get out and about. The hotel part of the beach is mostly a concrete apron with sand on top. It is small and although tidy, the hotel sunbeds are extremely shabby. The locals are not allowed to use the hotel restrooms so make their own arrangements with the expected resulting pervasive aroma.||The hotel itself consists of a number of villas and low buildings. All are at the wrong end of shabby chic and there are maintenance issues. There are many steep steps on cracked and uneven tiles which become quite slippery after rain. I expect that anyone with any type of mobility or fitness issue is going to be in trouble.||The gym exists but equipment is very basic and dated. The pool is tiny and when I used it enjoyed a light layer of floating scum. I couldn't see my feet through the murky water. The sea is nice to swim in though.||Housekeeping has been downgraded to every other day so don't expect the luxury of clean towels and a made bed unless you do it yourself. ||If you are planning on going the self catering route then be aware that kitchen amenities are basic and that there are no local shops for supplies.||I am now facing another 12 days here and looking forward to leaving. At least writing reviews and arguing with TUI over breach of contract will keep me amused.||Views are nice.

We were slightly apprehensive as there are some really mixed reviews on this hotel, which we didn’t think to check before we booked!! And I am so so so so pleased we came here. I couldn’t agree less with the bad reviews, the place is AMAZING, the staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever met (everyone on the island is for that matter), there is everything you can need in one place. The rooms have everything you need, the bay has plenty of food choices around to eat or the restaurant at the hotel has great food too - I would recommend trying the beef roti! We’ve had a wonderful relaxing holiday, and couldn’t have asked for anything more. We’ve loved the different culture, the sunshine, the ferry rides and the scenery. I would 100% recommend for anyone to come and stay here.

Truly Idyllic setting for a romantic getaway, anniversary or honeymoon “dream vacation “ we spent the first week of our Summer 2025 in a St Lucia paradise island across the bay from dreamers and millionaires and every day was a new opportunity for adventures in ⛵️ sailing, snorkeling, kayaking and scuba diving 🤿 The food is great the people are so friendly and their service is impressive.

Probably, most of us will agree that Marigot Bay is the epitome of Caribbean charm and beauty. Fewer might know that it's a 30$ US return, fast speed boat ferry ride away from Castries, so really easy to get to for cruise customers. Marigot Beach Club is the ideal place to lounge, eat, drink, and be merry, confident of returning in plenty of time. There's no need for me to wax lyrical. Just see the photos.

So the place is awful, had a large cochroach in my room, the 2" kind. Ate at Doolittles 1 hour and an half to get fish and chips. Oh and it was served cold. Also saw a rat running around the eating area. Breakfast this morning took about an hour to get steak and eggs. Basically a nightmare and I'm only on day 2 of a 5 day stay. They sprayed the room for Roaches and shut off the Air Conditioning, leaving the fumes in the room.all day, and an unpleasant hot room. Roasters woke us up at 3am, TV is 22" tiny, while they seem to care, it's obvious that noone is really accountable. Not sure what to say, St Lucia is a beautiful place. The ferry is punctual. The place is just run down and ought to be closed. Run... Update ~ on hour third night we also found another large cochroach, babies and an ant tail from the bathroom mirror to the shower. Reported all to front desk, was told that I must report this to a manager, in order to cause a change. I did this. I requested a follow up call with General Manager, was told that would call me, never did. They changed our TV after our complaint, but the cable never worked. In all left a bad taste in my mouth about St Lucia which is beautiful. Between the bugs, cochroaches and lax attitude, really not a hotel we would ever consider going back to. Kind of surprised that the travel websites permit this. In the United States this kind of thing this place would be condemned by the government.

Absolutely wonderful staff. Very attentive and friendly! Just a very few exceptions..sadly the water taxi guy (not Ricky👍😁) was obviously doing the bare minimum. The water taxi guy made us wait a long time, two lunch servers were ignoring us…so sad(we love island time🌞👍), but this wasn’t that..just lazy
