Marilau Mexican Ancestry Cooking School/cooking classes

Marilau’s Mexican Ancestry Cooking School was a fantastic experience! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, teaching us authentic Mexican recipes while sharing the history behind each dish. Marilau made learning easy and enjoyable, and we left with skills and recipes we can’t wait to recreate. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in authentic Mexican cuisine!

During my first visit to San Miguel de Allende I took Ms. Marilau's class. It was a fun class, very clean and so easy to follow. What I appreciated most about the class was that you can tell her love for Mexican culinary. Not only is she showing you how to make her family's authentic generational recipes, she is teaching you the culture. I highly recommend Ms. Marilau's classes regardless of your culinary level. Everyone was involved and thoroughly enjoyed the comradery. This is a class you should not miss!

Hi, I was in San Miguel de Allende (Mexico) twice and I take the cooking classes , was an excellent experience learning about Mexican food , culture and history. Next year I’m planning to going back to take a cooking class again, I recommended take this experience, you never forget Mexico!!!

My friends and I wanted to do something different in San Miguel, we have heard so much about Maria, and her ancestry cooking school, neither my friends or I are good at the kitchen, but this experience was so amazing, we learned so much about the Mexican cuisine, there are so many tips, we felt like professional cooks when we finish, and the best thing is when you try to make the recipes back in town, if you have any doubts questions or issues, she will answer you in a email with so much patience! thank you Maria! she is the best teacher in town! you can't miss it!!! !

I have no words to describe the wonderful hands- on experience I had at Marilau cooking class. Her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm are the heart of it. A great way to learn skills and history of her ancestral way of preparing a delicious meal. I highly recommend her, whether you live in San Miguel or are visiting, book a class, you won’t regret it.

We so enjoyed our time with Marilau. The dishes we prepared turned out excellent. Those extra techniques that Marilau taught can be transferred to other dishes. She swept us up with her passion for cooking, her love of the history of Mexican cuisine and her authenticity. I can’t wait until I’m in San Miguel again to try other classes. Extremely knowledgeable about traditional Mexican cooking. You get to watch and participate in the cooking of a couple of recipes. Very derailed instructions. Only the freshest ingredients. We made traditional mole and white rice (which is more rigorous than simply boil and simmer). Marilau guided us each step of the way. And then you get to eat the fruit of your labors! We had a great time, gracias Marilau!
