Important To Know:
There is a size restriction that is not stated on the website or the FAQ page. If you have a little one who meets the minimum age requirement of 6-years old, be advised that they must fit snugly into the smallest harness they carry on the boat. The harness was too loose on my 6-year old son, so he was unable to parasail. Quite a disappointing turn after a 90 minute drive on Mother's Day. When we expressed our disappointment, the cashier suggested this important detail was stated on their website. IT IS NOT. We suggested they take another look at their website since that is an important detail/restriction.
At this point someone else behind the counter interjected that in all his years doing parasailing, this was the first time a 6-year old was too small for the harness. The implication seemed to be that my son wasn't 6-years old, or that he was unusually small for his age. I quickly informed the para professional that, not only was my son indeed 6-years old, he's one of the bigger kids in his class! In fact, he registers as well above the average for boys his age at his doctor visits. Now, had this been Fathers Day I would have turned the fam around and gone to El Torito's for lunch and saved the $500! But it was Mother's Day and mama wanted to fly. So I paid the ransom. But instead of all 5 of us going up in the parasail, my 6-year old son and I were relegated to "observers" and had to sit on board the boat to get an up close view of all the fun he didn't get to experience. Needless to say, he wasn't a happy camper. FYI... being an "observer" isn't cheap either. Yeah, despite the inconvenience and disappointment they still charged the itty bitty boy full "observer" fare. If it was Father's Day I would have told them to shove it up their parasail. But alas, it was Mother's Day so... charge it!
Fortunately, mama and her 2 riding buddies enjoyed the actual flight and highly recommend their new adventure. The captain & first mate were wonderful. They impressed us as experienced and safety conscious. Important qualities for first timers like us. Just be aware that when it comes to your little fella... size matters!
