Recently stayed at The Marina Resort in Nelson Bay and wow.. the accommodation was absolutely stunning. So aesthetically pleasing and beautifully luxurious. The front desk staff were incredible, I honestly can’t rate them highly enough. Super helpful, friendly, chatty, and just all-round great vibes. And a special mention to Reggie, the hotel doggo was the goodest boy who happily soaked up all the attention. 🐶💙 Highly recommend staying here!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Marina Hotel Nelson Bay. The entire place has been beautifully renovated in a modern Hamptons style, and it shows in every detail — fresh, stylish, and incredibly welcoming. The rooms were a standout: luxurious bedding, comfortable furnishings, smart TV, excellent air-conditioning, and a double shower that felt like a real treat. We had a balcony with views, perfect for happy hour. The hotel is also in a great spot — walking distance to town while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The pool area deserves a special mention: plenty of comfy daybeds, quiet music playing, lots of space for everyone, and a lovely holiday atmosphere. There’s also a cute bar inside and a food truck outside, which added to the vibe. The staff truly went above and beyond. They surprised my husband with birthday chocolates and a handwritten card, delivered us ice even after they’d signed off for the night, and even stored our bike without hesitation. Every interaction felt genuinely warm and accommodating. And of course — Reggie the dog, the hotel’s unofficial mascot, absolutely stole our hearts. Marina Hotel Nelson Bay is stylish, comfortable, and wonderfully hospitable. We can’t recommend it enough.

We absolutely loved our stay at Marina Resort. From the moment we arrived, the staff were lovely and attentive, always happy to help and making us feel very welcome. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and comfortable, with high-quality appliances and amenities. The pool was large, clean, and a really relaxing place to spend time. The location is also fantastic, just a two-minute walk from the shops, which made everything so convenient. We had a wonderful experience and will be coming back in the future. Felicia and Luke ❤️

Great rooms following their renovation! Only minimally let down by the double bed - our double was 2 single beds put together with a topper & the sound insulation of the rooms was not good - as we approach February, Valentines goers beware. The hospitality was nice enough but nothing special. Location was close enough to town and the beach and for the price was very good value. Nice Pool area, it was full of families having a good time which takes away from the adult staycation vibe but there was nothing wrong with that as the seaside is right there.

What a great resort. Lady at reception was amazing and nothing was too much for her. Rooms were amazing, shower was great, bed was sooo comfortable and very clean and the view from the balcony was exceptional. Pool looked amazing as well just to cold for us this time of the year. Highly recommend.

Rooms are lovely, comfortable beds and big bathrooms. Pictures don’t show that there is a bigger street right in front, but when you close the windows, you can’t hear anything. Just 5 minutes walk from town! Nice personnel, however no one was there on Christmas which wasn’t an issue, just surprising for a big hotel.

The location offers great views of the Marina and Nelson Bay, is quiet and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The guest rooms are a calm oasis, very comfortable with everything you could need, a large bathroom and great sized balcony. The pool and surrounds are outstanding. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I only stayed for a night but found a pretty good late deal online and confirmed with them. I was just popping into the Bay to visit my brother who lives nearby. My journey to the Bay from Sydney was twice as long because of trains breaking down and buses taking forever. I phoned to let them know I was still coming and the lovely reception stayed back half an hour to ensure I was checked in and able to get to my room. The room itself was I guess what I'd call a triple; a double and two single beds - a bit much for just little old me but a really decent sized room. Although it was dark, there was a view of the pool - not being used this time of year but I thought about what it might be like IF I used it! It was clean, beds were well made. The bathroom had a bath and shower (separate) and a really good dispenser system in both the shower and basin. I don't see this in a lot of hotels. I didn't use it but there was a fridge, microwave and TV. You also get a free Wi-Fi code which is good, not sure how many MB's, I only used it for a little bit. After I checked out and was on my way back to Sydney, I realised I had left behind my book and umbrella and they kindly agreed to take it to my brother - it's the Bay attitude, generally very friendly and helpful. I'm 5+ months pregnant and the only pain in the backside thing I can really mention is that getting into the resort from the bottom of Magnus street is annoying because it's uphill. Down, not so bad. The bus stopped right on Magnus outside. Decor is a little old-school but I wasn't in town for a posh, fancy holiday. This would suit a family trip for the weekend or outgoing couples not fussed about staying in an elitist property; you're in to sleep and out to play. Breakfast down at Baroque and a walk along the Marina was a nice way to end my stay. I'd book at Marina Resort again.
