The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great location in Portomaso Marina, and the owner was very friendly. Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing.
After ordering, we asked for bread. In Malta, it is standard that restaurants bring bread once you order food, but here we were told it costs extra. That was shocking, especially considering bread costs the restaurant almost nothing. Still, we were willing to pay for it — yet despite asking three times, the bread never arrived.
The salmon dish was also extremely salty, which added to the disappointment. One waiter eventually apologized when he realized, but the mistake had already affected the meal.
As residents of Malta, we often support local restaurants, even during the quieter winter months when there are fewer tourists. That’s why it’s a shame to be treated this way in such a well-located, otherwise beautiful place.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because customer care should match the high setting and prices.
