I truly enjoyed my stay at the Marine Hotel. The beautiful seaside view was a highlight, perfect for a peaceful morning tea overlooking the water. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and access to the pool and spa made the stay even more relaxing. The staff were attentive and ensured everything went smoothly. However, the first room had maintenance issues such as cracked tiles, a hole in the wall, and a very loud ventilator, which I wouldn’t expect from a five-star hotel. Although the room was changed promptly, this should be addressed. The bar service lacked professionalism, and the breakfast could offer more variety, especially vegetables and healthier options.

We had a wonderful two nights at the Marine Hotel as a break before our baby arrives. On check in we were firstly surprised with an upgrade, then we had a lovely interaction with Jay who arranged a special treat in our room. Thank you for being so thoughtful! The beds are huge and so comfy. The view from the hotel was amazing, as was the breakfast each morning. Definitely try the Scottish pancakes! We really enjoyed using the gym, swimming pool and spa and would definitely recommend for couples looking for a quiet and relaxing break.

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel. We had a suite which was large and beautifully furnished. |Bed was very comfortable. Duvet was amazing. |We ate in the Bass Rock Bar and it was the best food I’ve had in a long time. I had bacon and maple syrup pancakes for breakfast. Very moreish and the best bacon I’ve ever eaten.|I loved my stay here and look forward to going back.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Food was amazing as were the lovely staff. My only tiny down side was a rather long wait for breakfast but we were down at their busiest time. Poached eggs were a bit overcooked but dinner the night prior was incredible. The hotel has a lovely vibe and we will definitely return!

Have stayed at the marina hotel a few times, and generally have always had a lovely experience. But I feel the hotel could do with a refresh in decor. Also meals we had were not the best would advise going into town where you will find some lovely places to eat at a fraction of the price, breakfast was chaotic with slow service, and the basics not been refreshed eg bread, juice and pastries and the hot breakfast not the best in quality. The Hotel is dog friendly which is great because our terrier loves the place, but why do dog owners allow there dogs to pee just outside on the plant pots and steps to the hotel, not that this is the hotels fault maybe a sign to ask not to would help. But the staff are amazing and a great asset to the company that owns the hotel.

We had a fabulous break. Check in was quick and painless, luggage taken to our room which was large and well equipped. Room was very clean, bed was huge and although there was a early 20th century theme, it had a full suite of modern extras you will find in a modern hotel room. The wallpaper was....an aquired taste! The room was serviced beautifully each morning. Breakfast was fab. Just the huge selection I love to see. No complaints. Visited the spa and pools. Nice and clean, wonderful massage, great place to switch off for a while. Took afternoon tea, a little pricey but there was a lot of choice on those plates which was very good and the tea selection was extensive and quirky. Some great walks along the links and the beach beside it, walked in the morning and at sunset, seemed different each time. Had dinner in the restaurant and the bass rock bar. Service was very good, we did not wait long on our orders and the food was good. Didn't come away from either thinking I got good value for money. Dunno, maybe it was just me. All in all it was a special place and I would recommend it. One thing though, if you already add a service charge, there really is no need to ask if you want to leave a gratuity on the food or drinks bill?

Been a while since we last visited and the hotel has had a lovely cosy makeover but the things that make it stand out are its wonderfully dog friendly ( but in a nice discreet way if you don’t have a dog lots of spaces to avoid) and more importantly staff were fantastic from the welcoming reception staff to the restaurant and bar teams and the lovely cleaning staff. Thank you for looking after us and making our stay special. Each and every one of you we encountered are a credit to the hotel.

Relaxation Spa and Afternoon Tea Day On arrival reception directed me to the spa reception staff all very helpful, showed round all the facilities. I was booked in for a massage, it was amazing!!!! Cheryl the massage therapist was brilliant highly recommend! Facilities - Thermal Suite - Sauna Rooms, Steam Rooms, Pool, Jacuzzi, Massage Showers. The Afternoon Tea consisted of an assortment of savoury, scones and cakes and I had several latte's as well, all presented on a stand with grapes and strawberries included, the staff in the Lawn Bar were very attentive. Views of the golf course and Bass Rock, i had a lovely day and would certainly recommend well worth a visit.

Great location located on North Berwick golf course. Pros: 1. Clean hotel (lobby, rooms, garden, spa) 2. Friendly staff. They went out of their way to help. 3. Great breakfast selection to suit everyone's taste. Cons: 1. Small rooms (our Jr. suite was no larger than a regular courtyard room). 2. Bed cover is a thick blanket (no sheets). Sweat for a while, kick off the sheet and be cold for a while. Seems typical in UK. 3. No plug in for a dryer in the bathroom. 4. Spa - Jacuzzi water temp is lukewarm. Steam sauna room had musty odor. Generally a good hotel, but certainly not up to the standards of equal value hotels of US or Asia.

The hotel is in an unrivalled location, minutes from the bustle of the charming town centre whilst remaining quite and peaceful. The rooms are of a reasonable size, the restaurant is surprisingly good and the staff are helpful and attentive. Recommended for one-night stays in what is undoubtedly an unspoiled and traditional Scottish town.

Marine Hotel. North Berwick. May 2nd 2014 ---5pmish Glasses of prosesco and nibbles. Divine!!! Beautiful view of the sea. Wonderful spa. The relaxation room was wonderful. Really may to return. I was a bit miffed though, the waiting staffs' clothes were dirty and unclean. A bit off putting. My friend a glad of prosceco and complimentary nibbles which I would have been happy to pay for. Beautiful location.

Painful. Waiter slammed the wine glass on the table. Host shouted at waiters across tables. Food was average. Service discourteous. If you want to pay for bland food and poor service, this is your place.
