⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a Night at the Marine Room Tavern! I had an absolute blast at the Marine Room Tavern recently! The energy was off the charts—Radio Royalty was playing, and wow, they brought the house down! The band was incredible, delivering all the best 80's hits with non-stop energy and killer vocals. Seriously, they had the entire crowd dancing from start to finish. If you haven’t seen them yet, you’re missing out! The place was packed—wall-to-wall with people. In fact, it was so popular that it ended up being standing room only, and they even had to turn folks away at the door! It’s always awesome to see a local spot buzzing like that. The only downside? The line for drinks was pretty long, but honestly, with a band that good and a vibe that electric, it was totally worth the wait. Big props to the Marine Room Tavern for hosting such an epic night and to Radio Royalty for absolutely crushing it! Looking forward to the next show! 🎶✨

Hotel recommended this spot for drinks and music. Did not disappoint. The musician was great! Played lots of popular covers, and did so very well. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was very cool. Loved the decor and speakeasy feel.

Brilliant atmosphere. Sit at the bar or sit by the fire or watch live music in the back. This bar manages to keep things cozy while offering three distinct atmospheres. Easy and comfortable for locals.

This place was great to kickback and relax! Enjoyed the live music and the drinks were delicious 😋 pool table available and comfortable seating!

Live bands, good crowd but unfortunately, the bar needs to be revamped. Bartenders are too slow to handle weekend volume. They need to hire a bar manager that has experience in high volume bars. Batch cocktails before the shift starts. Think volume over bespoke drinks. Your bartenders could easily triple their earnings with a better bar program to maximize output and make sure customers don’t have to wait 20 minutes for a drink.

I was recommended to visit this place by a local friend and had high hopes. The atmosphere was good and I even enjoyed the classic rock band that was playing June 7th even though I had the dates wrong for the live music since the website still had the calendar from May and I was expecting reggae. There were a lot of people which was a good sign and I even started chatting with a couple of girls at the bar while I was waiting for the bartender. When the bartender arrived she approached the girls next to me and asked me for their order. The girls nicely said that I had been waiting longer and to take my order. The bartender then looked at me and waved at me dismissively while turning back to the girls to place their order. There was an awkward moment because even the girls noticed how rude that was before they proceeded with their order. Finally I was asked for my order and I placed a Suero (a common Mexican non-alcoholic drink). The bartender understandably didn't know the drink so she walked away and asked her coworker to handle it. Fortunately her co-worker knew that the equivalent drink was a Pepino and gave it to me for free. Thanks to him that order ended positively but unfortunately that bartender really rubbed me the wrong way and my first impression of Marine Room is marred by that unpleasant reaction. Other than that it seemed like a fun place but because of that I won't be going back in the near future.

The place is pretty cool. Very clean on the inside. Wonderful decor, a cool locale. Great location. Staff are pretty good. People who are at the bar will often be facing away from the bar to watch pool or the live music. The live music is likely to be a one Pedro, who is actually a talented musician. The pool table and various sofas take up a large area of the front room and the rear room is half occupied by these huge couches. Restrooms are clean. It's a cool place to check out.

We originally made dinner reservations at sunset but our table was back from the windows that overlooked the beach, so we canceled and got a table in the lounge that was right next to the window. We were shameless tourists taking lots of pictures of the beautiful sunset off La Jolla Shores. The cocktails are a little expensive but were excellent. Much attention to detail. It's the first time I've seen a dirty martini made with dirty ice, and they leave the shaker at the table. We ordered several small plates and they were delicious. We really liked the grilled octopus and also the chicken liver pate. Lily, our server, was excellent and very personable. I highly recommend the experience, especially if you can time the sunset.

How amazing is that the bartender can just make anything you name. Delicious drinks, comfortable and cozy atmosphere in the back and lively atmosphere by the Bar! Surprised us with a live music and singing!

Great cocktails and very cozy vibe. Unfortunately, they do not have a kitchen for food. They often got live music in the evenings. It's a very chilled place and staff is very friendly!

Marcel was the best bouncer! I had the beat night! I love the ambiance and the bartender Kaleo was the sweetest!

I thought the Sunday jazz was awesome! The quartet was very talented and kept me swaying. I love the couches and leisurely feel. Felt like I was in a jazz club in New York city. Transported love that feeling. My date said the drinks were solid. I'm just an ambiance reviewer at some of these places bc I don't drink and eat but sometimes that's all you need and this fits the bill.

Came in on a whim, random Monday. Was not expecting this level of ambiance, from live music to great lighting and seating. Perfect chill hangout with drinks and great IPA selection. Bartender was sweet as well.

We just stepped inside the Marine Room Tavern because it looked super cool when we walked by. We were right, this is a super cool place. When we were there, the band was setting up. We didn't have much time so we just checked out the bar and the lounge area. I absolutely want to come back.

Best & only gay bar in town! Will be back forsure. Don't be afraid to get frisky in the phone booth!

My female friend and I have been here a couple times but never actually had a drink here. We had to use the restroom so our guy friend went to order himself a drink. He did and found a table to sit at. We made our way out and over to the bar to order our drinks. We sat and waited for someone to serve us. It was quite busy so we didn't mind the wait. After a while the wait got ridiculously long but we continued to wait. A man walked up behind us and the bar tender immediately helped him and served his two drinks. We tried getting his attention but he was already on the other end of the bar. My friend and I got up and just waited for my friend to finish his drink. We'll try our luck another time

Marcel was the best bouncer ever made. Made me and my girlfriends feel safe the entire time. Love this place and love a solid man who knows how to take care of the ladies. Amazing spot!

What a fun night at the Marine Room. Great band and ambience. Kaleo was also shaking things up behind the bar. Awesome service

The marine room Tavern is a local favorite to a lot of people in Laguna Beach , it's a great place to hang out.. they've got a band on most nights a beautiful warm fireplace. Only Problem... they have one Chardonnay that they carry... the rest is basically beer and mixed drinks...

The service was terrible. Last night on 7/6/24, there was a bartender there with a beard behind the counter. The blonde lady was very nice, but the gentleman with the beard was very rude. He seemed annoyed that I was standing at the counter, trying to get some thing even though the place was not that busy. He was also rude to one of the band members who simply asked him to fill his glass to the top. After ordering a drink from him, he charged me twice as much as the previous drink that I had. Claiming that he had put Tito's vodka, ( even though I did not ask for it) however, he put the generic vodka and tried to pass it off and charge me for more money. With some false promise of hooking me up the next time I came in. It's wrong to treat people rudely, and then blatantly rip them off. Not sure if he was the owner or just some bartender, either way it wrong to do that to a patron.

My brother's and my favorite bar when we're in town! Friendly atmosphere and good drinks. Also a pool table and occasionally live music! A fun place to spend an evening!

Shelby was amazing tonight. She not only held the bar down on her own for the first 2 hours we were there, she took all our orders with ease and didn't miss a beat. We asked for personalized drinks, "a fresh vodka drink" and for me an old fashioned "however you want to make it with whatever whiskey you want" and everything was amazing. It's a holiday weekend and the place was packed, she held her own and made us feel welcomed and made amazing drinks. 10/10 would come back (if Shelby is working).

Gem in Laguna ... Cool little spot right off the coast in Laguna. Nice lay out with lots of seating and a very comfortable feel. They really love Amy here and I can see why, she is a sweetheart of a hostess and ran things very well. Parking, lol ... Not their fault, its a city issue. Mostly involves short walks to park but its a great city to walk around. Plan a short walk. 35 plus years ago I have memories of our projectionist drinking here in-between movies and having to run over to get him sometimes. It's my first time here. My Mom lives in Laguna and suggested we came in for a cocktail. I hardly ever drink, so when I do, I like to make it count and get myself something special! Julie absolutely nailed my Gin Gimlet! Yowza! She not only made amazing drinks for myself and my mom, she took care of a full bar all by herself with a shining smile! We will be back. thank you

Love this spot! It's great for a drink, some live music and to move on. The drinks are great quality, especially the espresso martinis here, but it gets really crowded and the bar is narrow so there's not much room to hang out. There is one table in the front, bar seats, a VIP section in the back, 1 pool table and a fireplace with 4 chairs - everything else is packed like sardines standing room. There's also a cover at night.

Pool table, live music, good crowd, great drinks and vibes, what more could you ask for on a Saturday night? Highly recommend!!

Carl and Sam are the absolute best. They remembered who I was, remembered my drink, and they always get my drink to me very quickly despite being VERY busy. Absolute pros.

Stopped by the Marine Room last Saturday. Bar tender asked a group of guys if they need a drink. They weren't exactly ready so she asked if anyone needed a drink so I raised my hand. I was quickly chastised for raising my hand to get her attn. She scolded me like this is a cardinal sin in bars. I understand if you dislike your job but don't take it out on the thirsty.

They NEVER answer their phone. I tried several times over the span of 5 hours (during their listed business hours) to make a reservation since you/ Google Assistant can't do it online, and they did not answer once. I even had Google Assistant try every 15 minutes and still no luck. On their voicemail they also list a number you can text. I tried that and also no luck. See photo.

I have going here on and off for years...and will not go back now. The attitude is snobby...They think they are a New York night club. The new night manager is rude, unkind,abrasive and thinks she is running a 5 star restaurant. She is probably not even from Laguna.....It is Laguna beach not South of France No class at all!!!! College scene...

Hard to evaluate when you are refused entrance. The reason was because my Wife 46 yrs old did not have her real ID. She did have a copy of her American passport but she was still turned away . I think it is because she is Latin and too hot for the bar. Security were rude and condescending. Which did not help. Hey , they don't care. How can a copy of your passport not constitute identification. I understand working door does not need much in the way of an education but a hot Latin women gracefully way over 21 with a copy of a passport is obviously not a risk to the establishment and their ABC license I did ask if this was the law and was told it was in Laguna Beach (is this a lie) We walked across the street (party of 8) and were let in another bar without issue and had a great night. Times are tough but the Marine room think they don't need your business. My advice, plenty of more welcoming places to go . It's a shame really been going there for 20 years. Never again

Great bar friendly staff. Where is amie with the glasses she was awesome! Shelbs is great, the guys and gals here make great drinks. Can take a while if on a Saturday or Sunday and they are slammed. Wednesday nights Anesha sings soul into the place. Favorite bar.

AFTER MANY YEARS, STILL MY FAVORITE PLACE from a cool underground vibe with college friends, to taking a break from the grown up life with the drinks. Every time, the people this place brings together, totally my type and vibe

Great bar for this community. Great for a day Sri k, shoot some pool, talk with locals. Bartender was all business (only one working the bar that day), but still was attentive. Pretty good selection of Irish whiskey and bourbons. Looking forward to returning asap.

I left my coat here and they don't answer their phone and their voicemail is full. who doesn't answer or clear their voicemails all week? I don't live very close and haven't had a chance to go there again to check. unprofessional place. guess I won't be getting my coat backs

Great place with live music! Would be a great spot to end a date. Went here one night and the band Celso & Daryl was there. I'd never seen them before but I was blown away! Incredibly talented band, great ambiance, awesome bar. There's no room to sit, so definitely plan on standing and dancing around!

We like to go here for drinks and live Jazz when we are in the area. It's a relaxing atmosphere with couches and chairs to relax in. The drinks and service are great and the bands are always fun to listen to. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Ducked in here because I heard live music and found a new spot! Cover was five to ten bucks and the band was great! Hard to find decent live music so I'll come back

Went in the other night with a party of six... Could not ask for better, First off the guys at the door were super courteous and professional.... Felt very welcomed by the outside crew... Once inside just totally fell in love with the place fireplace was going bartenders were awesome and prompt and the drinks could not have been tastier!!! Great prices too for Laguna which I was totally caught off guard by!!! Will be recommending The Marine Room ito all my friends and family when in town!!!!

Bartender ken sucked. Dood told us our order "sucked" and then wouldn't take any order after that. Piss poor service. Unfriendly. Threw my card across the room. Tough.

I went there and had a margarita. It was an acoustic night and I didn't expect that there will be a lot of people. I love the vibe and they got a great crowd too. Its just that there's only one bartender who's attending all of the drinks there that day.

If I could leave less than one star I would. Wasn't let in due to my sisters expired id.... She had the extension proof and new expiry date and was told that it doesn't count when it's legal and 100% not a policy. I understand not accepting expired ids but when you have proof right in front of you that the new id is in the mail, that's actually ridiculous. In addition to this, we are all well above 21 years of age. DO NOT COME HERE ITS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. If you're wondering it's a really small old man with a god complex.

(This review is from two months ago.) Not a fan. Feels like a college bar. Out of place in Laguna. The music is decent and there are some comfy looking couches in the back by the stage but they look super worn. The actual bar is kind of cool . . . super long and lots of nicely lit shelving but there was only one bartender for the entire bar and he wasn't that pleasant. Overall, the bar is very dark and doesn't seem very clean. Service is definitely lacking and the crowd in general is not the usual friendly crowd you encounter elsewhere in Laguna Beach.

As a bartender myself , it hurts to write this review. But I have never felt more unwelcomed at a bar before. We walked in sat down and it took about 15/20 min for a bartender to notice us. I didn't realize we had to flag them and stop them on a slow night. By slow I mean they had enough time to talk among themselves, and even exchange stories around with their personal phones. I was at the bar for about a little over an hour and I had to Personally flag down the bar tender for a drink. Again if busy night I would 100% understand. But they truly didn't care. I truly hope my experience was one of a kind. Seems like a beautiful bar

We went to nearby Skyloft in Laguna Beach. However, it was dead on a Tue. So luckily the Marine Room was somewhat lively, and had a singer. MR is on Ocean Ave, just off PCH and near the 133. Our bartender was Alie and she was hawt!!!!! In addition, she was knowledgable about all the whiskies on the wall: 5+++++ Stars. Regarding the ambiance, it was chill. There were four of us, and we all sat at the bar. There is a pool table in front, a loungey area in back where musicians perform, and a dance floor: 5 Stars. The next time I am in Laguna Beach I'll make sure to stop by and see Alie for the whiskies (wink wink).

been in this place four times now and have never gotten a drink. the place looks cool and the live music would be a nice concept but don't come to this place without a man. my friend and i have been skipped over multiple times while trying to order drinks, literally making eye contact with the bar tenders and getting completely ignored while men can come up, talk over us, and somehow get served first. this has happened to me on multiple different occasions with different women but the moment we came here with one of our guy friends, he got served right away. i gave this place four chances, every time i expected it to be better and was thoroughly disappointed.

As a long time local patron, the only complaint I have is that they don't have NFL and College football. They have TVs but they are always off. I'm sure the place would be packed and they would make great money!

We came looking for our favorite bartender the other week, Amy, but she's not here anymore? Very boring tall bartender guy chewing on ice, no acknowledgement towards anyone. None of the bartenders seem to even fit in here anymore. Never do yelp reviews, but when Amy was our bartender previously she checked every box and deserved 5 + but it's so different now just a month or so later. Very disappointing. Besides the slow service currently, the ambiance is still nice. Great fireplace and pool table and music of course. But having a great bartender makes all the difference, and sad to say, NONE of them made our night this time. The energy is not the same without Amy. If they had better bartenders currently, this place would then be my favorite bar.

Local bar, some live music, a few pool tables, roaring fire. I like how many whiskeys they have! Bartenders seem like typical laguna people.
