"Marine Troon can’t be beat for the ideal golf getaway — it’s directly on the Royal Troon Golf Club’s 18th hole, and in the other direction it boasts bracing views over the Firth of Clyde. Behind the stately stone facade, exquisitely decorated interiors span ornate fireplaces, rich carpeting, antique furnishings, and acres of extravagant wallpaper. Onsite fitness facilities include an indoor pool and a sauna. Cozy rooms feature plush linens, Floris bath amenities, and painterly views." - Tablet Hotels

Can not sing the praises of this hotel enough. It is truly a wonderful experience from the start to the end. From being upgraded when we arrived to a suite to feeling like royalty through tour or stay. Each member of staff goes above and beyond any expectations. ||The hotel itself has quite the history. It is part of Royal Troon and many famous golf players have stayed there throughout the years when Troon hosted the open. It is tastefully decorated which captures the ambience. ||The bedroom we were upgraded to was large, airy and had the most amazing view over the golf course and surrounding areas. It had all the amenities you could need. The bed was comfortable and we both enjoyed a great nights sleep. ||The spa area was clean, well maintained and enjoyable to use. A little added bonus within the hotel. ||My husband and I would happily return to enjoy that little luxury within Ayrshire.

From start to finish, we had a wonderful time in Troon at the beautiful Marine Hotel. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We were there for 2 nights and had the best time - even the wind and rain didn't dampen our fun. We ate in the bar and restaurant, the food was delicious, good portions and enough variety. Breakfast both mornings was just what we needed, again a lot of variety from both the continental buffet and hot food on the menu. We used the swimming pool and steam room both days. It was very clean, staff very pleasant good facilities in the ladies changing rooms. All in all, I say it was a 10/10 weekend. We hope to return before the end of the year. The staff are definitely a credit to this hotel they are doing an amazing job!!! Keep it up. X

What an amazing place to stay for a lovely relaxing break. The rooms, spa and restaurants were just perfect. The staff were super welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The rooms are beautifully detailed and with simple things like crystal glasses in the bathroom and bedside to pre filled snacks and drinks in the room. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. Being able to open my room window to hear and feel the sea air is a treat in itself. I loved being able to go from the gym, to the pool, to having treatments to being treated to delicious food al whilst having the full view of the Ayrshire coastline. There’s not a great selection of food for veggies or vegans but the serving and kitchen staff went above and beyond to make adjustments for us and didn’t make us feel awkward at all. The food was exceptional! I booked specifically because they are dog friendly and although I didn’t bring the pooch this time it says a lot about an establishment and will bring her the next time. It’s not cheap and definitely a treat but will 100% be back. Thanks to all that made my stay extra special.

I stayed here twice as a solo female guest who does not know anything about golf and I had such an amazing time. The staff are lovely and welcoming, especially at reception, and they made me feel very welcome and safe. What a relaxing experience! The pool is great as is the terrace with amazing views outside. Tasty food in the restaurant, comfy rooms, and great walks nearby make it difficult to leave each time! ||It is a beautiful old building so some of the rooms are on the smaller side and there is no aircon but it is a wonderful hotel and I would highly recommend it!

It would be crazy not to start a review about Marine Troon with anything but the staff. From the bar and restaurant staff to Cameron who will help out with baggage and just about anything else to Jaclyn who made our stay extra special, every single member of the team is an absolute credit to the hotel. The team really make this hotel.|The decor is absolutely gorgeous. Eclectic, luxurious and full of personality. And the views from the hotel are just something else. Great views of the course if that’s your bag but the view out to Arran and Ailsa Craig are just stunning.|We enjoyed food in both The Seal and The Rabbit. The food was fantastic and the service top notch. Breakfast was another 10/10 with a great selection on the continental front and extremely generous portions on the cooked to order.|I’m remiss to mention it in this review but I genuinely believe how problems are dealt with speaks volumes. We had an issue at the start of our stay but as soon as Jaclyn found out, she sprang into action and did everything she could to get our break back on track which she succeeded to do and then some!|Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Marine Troon and we left feeling refreshed, relaxed and extremely grateful. We can’t wait to come back!

Stayed over for a birthday treat. Room was spacious and to a very high standard. We both enjoyed the Marine experience at the spa. Girls there were lovely and we felt so relaxed. Staff within both the bar and restaurant excellent also. Food was delicious and a very high standard throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, very attentive. Reception staff also excellent. Would highly recommend a visit.

On the pricier side for a pool/spa/gym membership, but well worth it. Great, well-maintained facilities. The pool has a sauna, steam room, hot tub, plenty of loungers, floaty toys, and a huge window facing the beach. There are certain adult-only hours which are listed on the website. Super relaxing and luxurious, and they even provide towels. The gym has every machine I can think of, a wide range of loose dumbbells, kettle bells, step platforms, etc, and a squash room. There is a timetable of various exercise classes. Smaller towels are available for the gym as well. Lovely staff who will greet you like a friend, gorgeous location, generally not too busy. Restaurants within the hotel are again not the cheapest but very good. Be aware if you are disabled you may need to wait for access to the dedicated changing room as families tend to use it, despite it not being advertised as a family changing room. On the plus side your carer gets free entry and the staff go above and beyond to accomodate your needs. Any problems I've reported have been quickly and efficiently dealt with

What a beautiful place to stay at one of the most storied properties in golf. We went on a golf trip with 12 of us and the staff was incredibly helpful booking restaurants (at the hotel and offsite), arranging transfers, and helping with our golf bags (which after 36 holes is immensely appreciated!). The hotel clearly has wonderful access to Royal Troon, but is also a great hopping off point to many other incredible courses/towns nearby. Front porch was such an excellent place to grab a coffee or a drink w/ mates and the lobby bar was staffed by the sweetest folks who worked late to allow us to keep the good times rolling. 10/10... would recommend to anyone.
