Amazing hotels with beautiful view across to the isle of Arran. If golf is your thing, the bar in the hotel sits on the 18th hotel of the Royal Troon Golf Course, great to sit and watch the world go by. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all the amenities provided. The food in the restaurant is lovely! Stayed here around 10 times and will keep going back, amazing hotel!

Very welcoming staff. My partner and I are newly engaged. We were upgraded to a seaview king room from double room by Megan. For dinner, we dined at the Seal and our first set of drinks were free. We ordered charred aubergine with ricotta cannelloni as well as malaysian chicken rendang - both were divine! My partner and I came back from swimming (swimming facility was huge. And has a jacuzzi), we really had a fun time!! Additionally, for dinner my partner was still hungry so ordered ayshire steakburger - we waited for an hour for this order apparently there was a mix up at the kitchen but the staff gave this burger for free to compensate for the long wait. Really fantastic service. The Seal has a billiard area so my partner and I had a quick game while waiting for our food. Will update this review as we are currently still checked in (but so excited to leave a very good review because this hotel is really amazing!!) Our room comes with breakfast so will update on that tomorrow UPDATEEEEE Absolutely amazing stay Breakfast was wonderful. Continental breakfast buffet + hot food options. We ordered pancakes and salmon sourdough. STAFF ARE AMAZING - best hospitality ive ever experienced in my life From checking in to checking out, our experience was amazing 🤍🤍🤍

Once again, another superb stay at The Marine Troon.||The rooms are always immaculately presented, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Thoughtful touches like the Tunnock’s Tea Cakes and complimentary bottled water are much appreciated and add to the overall experience.||The Rabbit Restaurant continues to impress with its excellent menu selection and beautifully balanced flavours , consistently delicious every time.||If you’re lucky enough to have a sea-view room, the scenery is simply stunning. A morning walk along the beach is the perfect way to start the day.

Staff was exceptional. We love the outdoor café that overlooked the fairway of Royal Troon. Just an overall wonderful stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Marine Troon. The team and staff are very welcoming! The spa is clean and a great way to relax after a long day. I enjoyed my Negroni at the seal Bar and tea service was great. I really Enjoyed the juice selection at breakfast, and the coffee service was lovely too. I’d recommend improved ventilation from the restaurant as my wife felt that the food odors on the first floor were a bit intense. I wasn’t sure about the appearance of the bacon/haggis on my full Scottish. So I’d definitely take a look at that. The potato scone and eggs /toast were great though!

From start to finish, we had a wonderful time in Troon at the beautiful Marine Hotel. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We were there for 2 nights and had the best time - even the wind and rain didn't dampen our fun. We ate in the bar and restaurant, the food was delicious, good portions and enough variety. Breakfast both mornings was just what we needed, again a lot of variety from both the continental buffet and hot food on the menu. We used the swimming pool and steam room both days. It was very clean, staff very pleasant good facilities in the ladies changing rooms. All in all, I say it was a 10/10 weekend. We hope to return before the end of the year. The staff are definitely a credit to this hotel they are doing an amazing job!!! Keep it up. X

My wife had a facial! She said it was the BEST facial she has ever had! The gentleman in the front of the hotel who greets all guests was extremely helpful, answering any and all questions and directing us as requested . We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to return!

Yelp
This is a tough review. The food and bar were great for drinks. Nice views. There's a certain charm to it. But in the end the rooms are very small even for European standards. It's tough to manage even opening luggage for 1, much less 2 people. There are no drawers. No hangars. Theres an annoying amount of drinks to buy in the room that take up valuable space. Things didn't work - phone, radiator, fan, sink. The bed in their 'king' room was a full size. I wanted to give it a higher rating for charm but simply can't until they make better use of the space in each room.

Yelp
I had the best overnight stay here, with my friend. When we arrived, we booked in, then went down to use the pool and sauna, I also got to use the hot tub (which i had never experienced before). It was so relaxing, we then went back to the room for drinks. We did have the odd cocktail in the bar, by this time I was slightly tipsy. Dinner was booked for 7.45pm, so we had a drink in the bar before hand, I started off with melon, which had the loveliest sauce, which was accompanied by berries & strawberries, for my main I had the most tender melt in your mouth beef, with boiled potatoes. green beans, carrot and gravy. and for my dessert I chose the coconut & lime cheesecake. so after all that I was stuffed to say the least. I would recommend this hotel to anyone for an over nighter or a long weekend. It was fanbloodytastic.

Yelp
We ended up here for a family dinneras the Piersland let us down (see other review) Very mixed feelings, starting with the fact that the place was freezing (like every other seaside hotel I've ever been in) however it warmed up as the dining room filled up. Also very well lit until it got dark so not very ambient or cozy. Another extremely expensive hotel ie £8 for a glass of wine but maybe you get what you pay for as it was very nice? We had the set menu which was most definitely worth it, not huge portions but well presented and very well cooked. Steak cooked as required, juicy chicken, and tender pork. My only complaint was that some more lime in the dressing for the fishcakes would have been nice. Lovely choice of different breads was a nice touch. Again, stuffed after starter and mains so just had coffee; big cups and well made, good coffee to milk ratio. Pleasant, attentive but impersonal staff, but thats OK, I dont want them to be my new best friend! The Marine in general is a tad impersonal but thats my impression, maybe other people would feel differently. I won't rush back but thats mainly as I prefer smaller places. It stepped up to the plate when needed so no real complaints

Yelp
I had decided that both my mum and I needed some rest and relaxation and noticed the spa deal offered on a voucher site. The package on offer seemed very reasonable with two spa treatments and a lunch at the Two Fat Ladies restaurant for £45 each. As a fan of Two Fat Ladies Glasgow I was keen to try out Troon's version. We were greeted on the day, by a very enthusiastic chap at the front reception, who kindly took us through to the treatment lounge. I was looking forward to chilling out in my robe and topping up my Zen. However the lounge area was dark and dingey and was more like a students lounge in a bedsit flat. The sofas were covered with fleecy, bobbly throws and the offer of magazines was from summer 2014. My mum and I decided just to take our time getting changed and avoid the lounge area. We both opted for a facial and a hot stone , back, neck and shoulder massage. The hot stone massage was nice, but felt a bit rushed. I probably enjoyed the facial more and loved the scents of the Decleor products used. However after asking about my skin type, the consultatnt didnt really engage with us so I couldnt even tell you much about the products used. We finished our morning in the spa with a trip to sauna and steam rooms, which also enabled us to escape the impromptu children's party that seemed to be happening in the pool area. I was really looking forward to our 2 course lunch. We headed to the restaurant area to be greeted by a very cheery waitress. We were seated in the conservatory area which we very quickly realised was for those on 'deals' . There was a nice selection on the festive menu and had several vegetarian options. The mothership opted for the prawn cocktail to start with and the beef. I opted for the vegetable soup and sea bass. When we soup arrived I was rather disappointed, it looked more like dirty pond water and was pretty tasteless. My mum enjoyed her prawns but found the little bucket it all came in to be a bit footery. The sea bass was nice and my mum enjoyed her beef but we both agreed that the portion size of the accompanying vegetables was a little meager. We negotiated though and I traded mum my 2 carrots for a piece of brocolli. Although this is under the Two Fat Ladies name, it was not a patch on the Buttery and I think I went with expectations that were a little high. I would consider trying out the spa again if on deal but certainly wouldnt pay full price. The leisure facilities are in need of a little upgrade.

Yelp
Visited here as part of an Itison deal, 2 x 25 minute spa treatments, use of the pool facilities and a 2 course lunch. As with all these deals the place gets very very busy. My friend and I arrived at 9:45ish for our 10'o clock treatments, which meant we were some of the first in. Bring a pound for the lockers. On arrival, we got robe, slippers and a towel. We changed and then headed up for our treatments. I was advised to have the back, neck and shoulder massage as opposed to the hot stone massage. I am so glad I did and found the whole thing wonderful and over way to quickly. I then had an express manicure aka file and polish, the products used were Jessica which is one of my favourites. The colour selections available were slightly odd, aka no reds. I do love the baby pink colour I got, although the application is a bit bobbly. We then headed back to the relaxation room, aka a room with 2 sofas, a table and chair. Not overly inspiring. We asked if we could have some normal coffee as there was only decaf available... After an hour of just nattering, we headed into the pool, which was quite busy. The sauna was very dark, it had no light inside. The pool has a lovely view of the golf course and out onto the sea. The lunch on offer was good, although you do have to pay for drinks! So we opted for tap water. I had a lovely brioche with feta and tomatoes, a sort of take on bruschetta. The beef and potatoes was also fab.

Yelp
My friend and I took advantage of a 5pm deal for the Marine Hotel which offered an overnight, dinner, bed and breakfast for the bargain price of £109 per person with 25% off spa treatments. After a bit of a trek from the Troon train station along the beach we were impressed by the outside of the hotel and greeted with warm welcomes from the staff. Our room overlooked the golf course and whilst it wasn't the most luxurious we've stayed in and a little small, was nice enough for our purposes. We'd prebooked some spa treatments - an ultimate glow facial and massage for myself and a gel manicure and pedicure for my friend. My treatments were very relaxing; particularly the back massage and the therapist was friendly and very professional as she eased out my aches and pains. My friends treatments surprisingly took longer than mine. Turns out her therapist wanted to get her nails perfect and she was very pleased with her highly buffed feet and nails. Our dinner was at the Two Fat Ladies restaurant at the hotel. Now on this one I must admit perhaps we're not the best to judge as normally we prefer pretty standard fare, but the menu was a bit too fancy for our liking and being a vegetarian I was a bit dismayed to find only one main course option which really didn't appeal. As part of the deal we could have a set menu or a £25 allowance from the a' la carte as well as a bottle of wine. We opted to share some starters and desserts - a goats cheese salad, a mixed salad, a caeser salad, vegetable pulse cake followed by a chocolate marquise with Bailey icecream, a big bowl of mint ice cream, and sticky toffee pudding with vanilla icecream (yes we did have rather a lot of ice cream!) There was nothing wrong with what we had, but for the price had we been paying for it directly there was certainly no stand out dish, the portions were a bit on the small side even for starters and we left feeling a bit underwhelmed (managing to smuggle out 1/2 a bottle of wine to our room mind you!) After dinner we went for a quick evening swim and jacuzzi followed by a quick blast in the steam room - all of which were as you'd expect. We couldn't fault the amount of staff that were on in the hotel, although we did find that waiting to be seated for breakfast wasn't totally necessary especially given the table we were directed to hadn't been cleared away (as we discovered on sitting down to find tea / coffee and toast already on the table - whereas everyone else seemed to be ordering this to their tastes). Breakfast was pretty much what we expected - the usual selection of cereals, yoghurts, toast etc with a cooked breakfast selection. Overall, we both enjoyed our stay at the hotel and certainly couldn't fault it for the price we paid, although if we were looking to do a similar break I think we would seek out somewhere with a better / more substantial dinner offering! I'm swithering on my rating for this one - overall really a 3 1/2 stars but I'll round it up!

Yelp
We stayed here for a girls' weekend away when the B&B we booked had to cancel on us at the last minute and the B&B lady felt so bad she booked us in to the Marine Hotel and picked up the extra bill herself. So I've got no idea how much our single rooms would have cost, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have booked it myself at full price. There were a few tiny mishaps but unless you're a real complainer, they weren't serious enough to make a fuss about. We had booked 5 singles and one double and the check-in process was a bit random - they didn't seem to have pre-allocated anybody to any of the rooms so they handed out keys on a first come, first served basis, then put the two girls sharing the double room into a single and then made them carry their luggage all the way back down to reception to sort it out rather than sending somebody up with the right key for them. Eventually we all got sorted and the rooms were lovely. We started our evening with some drinks on the terrace outside the bar as it was such a sunny day and the waiter managed to spill a drink on my friend, but luckily just on her arm. Later that evening, we came back to the hotel after our night out and had more drinks in the bar and this time the waitress managed to tip a whole tray of drinks over the table! More tray-carrying practice needed, definitely. But the hotel is really nice - they have a pool which is around 16m long and opens early enough to let you have a swim before breakfast, if that's your thing (it's my thing!). Breakfast was a self-serve buffet and there was plenty of choice and plenty of food and it was all good. The rooms were comfy and clean and all the singles were en-suite. The location of the hotel is fantastic and Troon itself is a lovely place for a weekend break.
