Good seafood restaurant, had a great dinner at the balcony with great views. It has a spacious parking. Service was friendly and attentive, food tasty. Interesting interior with nautical items. We ordered a seafood basket for 750R, good option for two if you want to taste everything, but a bit too heavy for two! Had also tea and cape brandy cake. The bill was 1000R. Toilets clean. Overall very happy.

What a treasure! An older worlde seafaring style restaurant with superb service and charming period decor. And the food! We chose sole - one merniere with garlic sauce, the other the chef's choice with roasted almonds in secret sauce. Both options mouthwatering and delicious. Probably the best meal we've enjoyed on our fortnight trip to sunny South Africa 🇿🇦 😎 Highly recommend 👌🏻

We had the Kinglip and Calamari steak with fresh garden salad. I have NEVER in my life had such delicious calamari steak!!! Super soft, buttery and full of flavour😱how do you guys get it so perfect??? Generous portions aswell. The Kingklip was soft, juicy and bursting with flavour! The salad was fresh and perfect and massive! Well done guys on excellent food, wonderfull staff, friendly managers! We also bought the coolest looking red wine, just for the bottles😍😍 See you guys next week!

An Unforgettable Experience at Mariner’s Wharf! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the charm, atmosphere, and views. Set right on the water, Mariner’s Wharf captures the true spirit of Hout Bay — fresh sea air, friendly service, and the most incredible seafood. The oysters were perfectly fresh, the calamari tender, and the fish grilled to perfection. Every dish tasted like it came straight off the boat. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly proud of what they do — making us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re here for a relaxed lunch, sunset drinks, or a romantic dinner, Mariner’s Wharf is simply unbeatable. A Cape Town gem that everyone should experience at least once. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Most people think that Mariner's Wharf is just a fish and chips place in Hout Bay. Little do they know that this seafood restaurant near Cape Town is actually a piece of history, steeped in South African heritage. We just spent our late morning and afternoon at Mariner's Wharf, and I must say that this has got to be the best seafood restaurant in Cape Town. Since they are known for their fish and chips, I ordered that. Now, I was born and raised in Cape Town, and I've had my fair share of fish and chips (even Mariner's neighbours). And truly, it is the most wonderful wake and chips that I have ever had the pleasure of touching my lips and tummy. I can't fathom how perfect it was, and I'll likely never find anything like it elsewhere. And the best part is that it wasnt even expensive! Very much value for money! No more than you'd find anywhere else, and in a lot of aspects- cheaper! While we spent our long lunch at the upstairs grill, we got to enjoy some of the most beautiful and picturesque views in Cape Town. Truly the best in Hout Bay. A place where you can see it all. The people who work there are also amazing, from the waitrons, all the way to the GM, Greg. They are all so friendly, professional, and gracious. A breathe of fresh air in the hospitality industry. When we were done, we took a stroll on the pier, greeted a big ol' seal basking in the sun, explored Mariner's other attractions like their fish market, their Pearl shop, and their antique shop (truly some amazing stuff there) and we even bought their book detailing all their history. Every bit of this experience was truly like a nostalgic scene out of a movie. This is the type of place that you make core memories in, with your parents, your children, and your children's children. If you are doing the blue line on the city tour bus, be sure to stop by this restaurant for seafood. Location is right by the beach. Restaurant is set up on a boat like structure so that was quite interesting. We had the sea food platter and shared it between 3 of us with a side of chips and salad. It was very filling. When ordering the platter I would say skip on the lobster, it doubles the price but the lobsters were small and cumbersome to eat. Didn’t enjoy them much. The rest of what was on the plate was very delicious . I even dare say their calamari is the best I’ve ever had. The service was very good and fast. We had an hour to order, eat and catch the last bus and we made it!

When it comes to rush-hour food preparation and service, this place is the undisputed king. They push out top‑quality meals from 10 AM to 5 PM, and no matter how busy it gets, the taste and consistency are unmatched. Every box is made to absolute perfection; they don’t skimp on anything. The flavours are always spot‑on, the portions are generous, and the quality is consistently excellent. The service is warm and friendly, always delivered with a smile, and the kitchen runs like a well‑oiled machine. You can see the team works together seamlessly, even during the craziest rush. My hat goes off to the entire staff. It’s always a great experience, and I can confidently recommend them as the best fish and chips in Hout Bay.

Looking at overall score in maps I expected less than I've got. The food is great, service is happy, friendly and helpful, prices are fair, what else would you need? Overall very nice holiday experience right by the Hout Bay. Recommended!
