How to See Utah's National Parks on an RV Trip

"A tiny, homey diner in a small-town stop where the chicken noodle soup was described as the best the diners had ever had; classic comfort-food fare like Reuben sandwiches and towering coconut cream pie paired with a TV playing Little House on the Prairie created a nostalgic, comforting atmosphere." - Ellen Carpenter

My husband and I were passing through and stopped at Marinia’s for an early dinner. It is a hometown cafe with a lot of charm and good food. We ordered the sticky BBQ chicken sandwich special and the Western burger meal. Our waitress was nice and the food service was quick. We will recommend this place.

After a day hiking it was great to have a delicious meal served in a simple restaurant. No hype, no flash, just amazing food and happy service. I ordered the fried chicken with a side salad veggies and mashed potatoes with gravy. My wife offered their club with fries. We both had enough on our plates to satisfy the hunger we worked up hiking. The drive was about an hour from where we were staying but it was well worth it. If you’re anywhere near by it is definitely worth stopping by. Be patient and enjoy the mouthwatering flavors they serve!

We stopped by Marinia’s Country Cafe for a classic American breakfast, and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, hearty, and served quickly — just what you need to start the day off right. The pancakes were incredibly fluffy, and the bacon was perfectly crispy, exactly how a real American breakfast should be. The young woman who served us was very kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. The cafe has a cozy, well-decorated atmosphere, and the overall vibe was peaceful, with friendly people all around. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for good food and a relaxing start to your day!

This is my third visit here. I have had breakfast and lunch here. Every time the food is amazing! The variety of food options is impressive. Loa is a small town so a place like this is a gem worth traveling for.

Excellent food, very satisfied with the Guido Burger. Staff was very friendly and attentive, and atmosphere was inviting. More of a homey vibe.

Food was actually phenomenal. Got the Reuben sandwich and it had great flavors and crunch. The house made fries were very good, well salted and crunchy. Service was great. The sign on the door says to expect slower service but it was very timely and great, even for a larger group. Would definitely recommend!

Google
We came here for lunch because of the good reviews, and it didn’t disappoint! I had the Reuben sandwich which was cooked to perfection. My friend got the hot roast beef and I forgot those even existed, my mom used to make them when I was a kid. Awesome salad bar. We even had the owner, Marinia, as our server, she was great! We highly recommend!

We are tourists from Estonia. Today we were passing through this town and decided to stop by this café for lunch. The place turned out to be very cozy and beautifully decorated, with a true Western atmosphere. The menu was impressively diverse — it was actually hard to choose because everything looked so good! In the end, we went for salads, and our child ordered chicken with fries. The salad portions were absolutely huge! Back in Estonia, the portions are much smaller, and we’re still amazed by the serving sizes in America. I had the crispy chicken salad with homemade dressing — it was incredibly tasty and very filling, I was completely full. My husband chose the taco salad with blue cheese dressing. He really enjoyed it as well, and it was just as satisfying. Our child liked the chicken nuggets, although she didn’t eat the fries. We tried them ourselves and can say the fries were real, fresh, and very tasty. We also ordered coffee. It wasn’t the best coffee I’ve ever had — I felt like it could have been brewed a bit stronger — but overall, it was decent. The staff were friendly and welcoming, answering all of our questions with a smile and creating a very pleasant atmosphere. They also looked neat and professional. All in all, we were very happy with this place and glad we made the choice to stop here. We left full and satisfied, with great impressions!

Yelp
Marinia let us in at 6:55pm, and their staff was delighted to see us! Bre and Autumn were very helpful in helping select the best in the menu, anything with Roast Beef. Guido and I had a great discussion about his building and the charm of their awesome family restaurant. Thank you team!

Yelp
Small town country dining at it's best! When my son and I found ourselves with some time to kill and bellies to fill in Loa, we were excited to stumble across Marinia's Café for lunch. It was a holiday weekend, but they were open and we were grateful. Service was welcoming and food was enjoyable. I had the chicken fried steak and my son had a grilled cheese. Both meals satiated us, although my son glanced longingly at my potatoes so I gave in and let him have them. He is a mashed potato and gravy lover. Next time, he'll order that.

Yelp
A very small establishment for a very small town. Waitress was very prompt. Hamburgers were homemade, soup of the day was Wisconsin bacon cheddar.

Yelp
The food was so good! We had the breakfast sandwich with an English muffin and bacon and the Mc Marinia (think a really delicious McGriddle) with sausage. The breakfast potatoes were really good too. We'll come here again!

Yelp
Stopped for breakfast at Marinia's Country Cafe this morning based on some Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint! We were welcomed in and able to get a table with ease. The ladies serving us were friendly and attentive. Our order was taken quickly, and it felt like almost no wait before our warm, delicious breakfasts were on the table and we were savoring every bite! The portions are generous, and the pricing is very reasonable. Marinia's Country Cafe is a quaint, cozy, welcoming Cafe! Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Great homemade food. Friendly service and delicious. We had breakfast here the other day as well and it was amazing . I had biscuits and gravy fried eggs with potatoes. We left full as a tick

Yelp
Very good western burger and even better coffee. Great service and the atmosphere is fantastic. Food was ready shortly after ordering. 10/10 will visit again.

Yelp
We ate here in March 2025 while we were staying in Loa to visit Capitol Reef National Park. It is a small, clean, friendly establishment with a small staff (but boy do they HUSTLE) and the food is so g-o-o-d! Check it out!

Yelp
While staying in Loa Utah we came here for dinner. It is a small family run cafe. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were glad it was close to our hotel beings we've been driving all day. Thanks for the dinner

Yelp
TLDR: Good stop on the way to Arches. TATER TOTS! You might be wondering, what is there to eat on the way from Bryce Canyon to Moab (Arches)? Answer: this place! It's probably the only dining establishment along that lonely stretch of highway 27. Luckily it's a pretty good place! The place is small, has about 8 tables, it's looks like a log cabin from "The Little House on the Prairie". I think we were served by the Cafe's owner, Marinia.. At least that was our Cashier on our receipt. It's a pretty "rural" place. (Hint: not too many Asians around!) But she was pretty welcoming of us. I wished I saw the Daily Specials on the wall. (HINT: check it out if you can) I would have liked to order it, instead. But anyway, I got a grilled chicken sandwich, while the wife ordered the half salad with chicken. The half salad was actually pretty huge. It covered the entire plate! And for both chickens, it was cooked well. Very Juicy and plump. What really put this place OVER THE TOP, is their tater tots! They aren't just ANY, they are Tetris-Shaped! That was super awesome! ANY place that has tater-tots gets an automatic star from me. Plus they were super crispy as well. Really delicious tots! Definitely a found oasis!

Yelp
Food is great the service is wonderful you feel like family when you come in prices are good the ambiance is small town home cooked food

Yelp
I got the western burger and it was delicious. Enjoyed the down home vibe and the friendly people.

Yelp
Great place great food and atmosphere would recommend to any one. It was well worth the trip from salt lake

Yelp
Quick service and fantastic food. Has a good hometown feel that makes you feel right at home and comfortable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Service was amazing! We received our breakfast in only 5 minutes!! Our server was very kind and attentive. Prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend giving Marinia's a try.

Yelp
Can I give more than 5 stars? We found this little dive after a 2 hour drive in the middle of nowhere with starving kids. It was unbelievable. Hands down the best burger I've ever had and I used no condiments with a gluten free bun. Kids loved their food. Veggie sandwich was well liked. Chicken tenders were well liked and the southwestern potato soup was to die for. The service was quick and so friendly. This is a place that could easily be passed but if you are close, check them out!

Darrin H.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and prioritize breakfast here (or other meal, but breakfast was awesome)! Service friendly, mix of locals and passers-through... You can tell a lot of love goes into this place. Bright and warm.

Alex R.

Yelp
This place was great. After a long day of hiking, it hit the spot. It was a cute little spot that felt really cozy. Service was fast even though they have a small staff and food was good. Burger was well seasoned, juicy and filling.

London M.

Yelp
Was amazing and the people were really nice and loved taking care of us the food was so good

Yelp
This place was really solid-it was right off the highway and was on our way to Bicknell from SLC. We began our order with some fried pickles and some drinks, before we ordered our main meal (we got some burgers and then one person got a hamburger patty with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes). Our drinks included a coffee, hot chocolate, and Shirley temple. The coffee and Shirley template came quick, but the waitress forgot about my hot chocolate for about 30 minutes before I reminded her about it once our entrees came later. The fried pickles were solid and were a nice appetizer before we got our main meal. The burgers tasted very fresh as did the French fries. The meal really hit the spot and everything on the menu we tried tasted great.

Yelp
We dropped by on Thanksgiving weekend to grab food before hiking at the nearby National Park, and this was one of the only places open in the Loa area, as far as we could tell. Food: 3.5/5. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries. Both were very salty. The chicken batter was satisfyingly crunchy but a little dry. I did appreciate that the Cafe used real chicken breast, unlike some other fast food restaurants. This meal would satisfy those who enjoy basic diner/fast food. Service: 5/5. The waitress was extremely sweet and patient with our large group and multiple orders on different credit cards. Overall: 4/5. I wouldn't eat here again for the food, but the staff was very patient with us and made the ordering experience enjoyable. The takeout was a cheap and convenient meal to enjoy for a day of hiking at the Great Capitol Reef national park!

Yelp
Nice people, authentic and local spot. Breakfast was good but served cold. We were the only customers.

Yelp
Cute little cafe in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth a try. They are practicing limited seating and social distancing and hand sanitizer. The decor of the inside was very rustic and homey. Toni was our server and she was awesome. I love it when servers seem happy to be there. We ordered fried pickles and they came out with ranch dressing. Very good and not too greasy. The soup of the day was chicken cordon blue chowder. She said they make their soups homemade every day. It was some of the best soup I've had in a while. We also ordered the fish and chips. The fish was good and it is cod. The chips are real Piccadilly chips and they came out with fry sauce. I took a picture of the whole menu so you can see all of the great choices they have. We will definitely come Back again.

Yelp
A quick stop between National parks! Sweet server, great food and can't beat the prices!

Yelp
Do I recommend, absolutely every time I roll through town if I have the time i stop and eat there no matter what time of day. I have stopped at least 25 times and I have never had a bad meal ever. Great service good people, good prices, stop and check them out you won't be disappointed

Yelp
Came here for breakfast. Ordered the breakfast and pancakes. The cook accommodated and let us order the Malibu crispy sandwich on the lunch menu, since I don't eat breakfast. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon nice and crisp. Eggs where over medium, cooked to perfection. The Malibu crispy sandwich was crispy. The fries were fresh cut crisp fries. Overall. A great breakfast. This is one of the best meals in Utah so far.

Yelp
Just stoped by during our biking tour. Food was delicious and well priced! Would definitely recommend and will be back if I am ever around the area again.

Yelp
Food and Service were good. Stopped on our way through town after visiting Capital Reef. Portions were good size.

Candice M.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast sandwich and potatoes. Cozy atmosphere and good service. Would eat here again.

Erin G.

Yelp
the hot beef and hot hamburger was so good. the tator tots were shaped as tetris which made it even better.

Emily C.

Yelp
Lovely staff, delicious food at a good price. Cute country interior, would definitely recommend!

Yelp
This is where I go when I need to feel like a home cooked meal that I don't have to make and I'm avoiding my mom's house. If you are visiting our area, this is where the locals go. Stop in and order anything. It will be good and affordable. Make sure you tease the server and talk to the owners if they are there, and you won't be a tourist anymore... you will be home.
google avatar

Yelp
We have eaten here breakfast, lunch, and dinner for several days while here geocaching. Lots of selection in meals. We have tried several different breakfast meals and dinners. They were all good old country cooking. And don't forget dessert! The homemade pies are delicious!!
google avatar

Yelp
We always stop here on our way out of town when leaving Capitol Reef! The food is delicious and truly tastes like home made country cooking. The staff is always so kind and welcoming. We showed up at 11:10 hoping to still catch breakfast but they are pretty strict and shut breakfast down right at 11. Today I got the country fried steak and was the envy of the whole table. SO GOOD with the fresh made country gravy. It came with a side salad that wasn't skimpy and had fresh veggies and super tasty ranch dressing. Loved it and I will definitely be returning!

Gary W.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here on our trip between Utah national parks. Everybody in the town was so friendly , the food was delicious AND in expensive. We both had what tasted like FRESH chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and homemade gravy with fresh mixed vegetables. Though we're from another state, we'll be back here ! Loved the food , loved the people , loved the state. Thank you Utah. Gary and Jeannie Wells

Heidi R.

Yelp
Food and service were great. I'm giving 4 of 5 stars because at the end when we paid, at the point where you plug in the tip, the waitress did not ask us to fill in a tip, but rather just said " will the tip be 18, 20, 25 or 30%"?.... That strikes me as rude an inappropriate.

Laura B.

Yelp
On our way back from Torrey. Friendly service and delicious food. Well worth the stop!
google avatar

Colton K.

Yelp
Amazing, glad we turned around and came here! Best breakfast I've had in years. Breakfast was hot and fresh, nice staff and great Cook.

Katie H.

Yelp
The food was great. But the long purple haired waitresses language not so much!! She was talking to her coworker behind the counter and every other word was the f word. She was kind of angry that they were so busy! Hello what did she expect with it being the day of the eclipse? Do better and if you're employee is getting stressed with it being busy maybe she shouldn't be a waitress
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
First time in Loa and here, pretty small town, but the people here are sweet and check on you which I appreciate. I got the western burger and the mashed potatoes and gravy and honestly, really good burger I've had in a while. I would definitely come here again.

Yelp
This is what a road trip is all about. Country roads, vast expanses of nothing but beautiful scenery, hidden burroughs that whisper of great connections to history now forgotten, and mom and pop businesses that are the backbone of middle American life. The town of Loa in Central Utah is a perfect example. Here is where I now vamp to the tune of "You can be in such a hurry to get where you are going, you fail to see what is right in front of your face." Distracted by boarded up, crumbling Victorians, highway cones and torn up pavement, dead weeds and even more dead hollyhocks, I nearly missed the grey brick and Pepto bismol pink walled building that bears a sign that says, "home style cookin', trailer park, laundromat , showers". This is Country Cafe. This is a *must* stop. The exterior foretold the inside, with the mismatched diner furniture, some fishermen sitting around the table exaggerating fish stories, cedar walls, a chalkboard announcing, "Welcome Hunters" and a list of the day's specials and pies, and a smiling frazzled haired waitress who made sure you were comfy. "Sit anywhere you like", she encouraged. The menu was small. The prices comparable to city diner fare. There were books set by each table, all by the same author, all quick reads, snip-it's and quotes intended to amuse you while you waited for your meal. They were funny. I must get them. The coffee was good. She kept it coming. The 8 oz chicken fried steak was not 8 oz. It was more like 10 oz., and it was beautifully seasoned, lightly dusted, cooked perfectly. The country gravy was rich and creamy with generous lumps of good country sausage. We ordered more gravy just to make sure no bite was left naked. Two eggs and one big pancake finished our order. Glad we shared. It was filling. It was all good. The love and warmth coming from its owners can be found in the food. Make sure you seek out this little place when you plan your next trip thru Utah. Yelpers, you got it right! Thanks to the tune of 5-star diner right. Vamp..."You can be in such a hurry to get where you are going, you fail to see what is right in front of your face."......(I wrote that).

Yelp
I have only eaten here once and really did like what I got. It is like a ma and pa restaurant. Their menu selection is humongous so you have a great verity of menu items to choose from. Their prices are good and customer service is also good. It is a small place but large enough for it's location for the town people and vacationing people passing through.

Melissa L.

Yelp
great service and tasty pancakes! the huckleberry syrup was so good mixed with the classic ole maple syrup. super good prices too
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
The food is good, but the service is leisurely. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is served all day. They serve country-style, comfort food in a small, rustic, lodge-style interior cafe. They appear to mostly cater to outdoorsy patrons- hunters, hikers, fishermen, and other outdoorsmen. Camouflage clothing is common during certain seasons.
google avatar

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Best food we had on our trip. Country fried steak is the best I've had in my entire life, probably.

John M.

Yelp
If you find yourself in south central Utah, headed to Marinia's for a hot meal is a must. Western decor, incredibly friendly staff, family owned and operated with food as good as it comes. Do yourself and the people you're with a service and make a stop on in, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Stopped for breakfast on our trip from Torrey going to Bryce and had a great meal! Hearty helpings, reasonable priced and friendly service!

Yelp
Amazing home cookin' and the best hospitality and service. Highly recommend if you're not too high in the instep. This place serves the community as the sole and the soul of the area.

Yelp
Okay - first they need to fix their Yelp entry. It says they have beer and wine, and they don't!!! This is a major problem - the food would have to be excellent to garner more than the one star I give for telling lies!!!! And the verdict is in - food was just okay. My cheeseburger was fine, although it was very well done (the server didn't ask how I wanted it), and came with about 6 French fries! Meager portions... Nothing to write home about - and did I mention that they lied about the beer???!!!
