The Best Way to Travel Through Northern Morocco Is by Train — Here's How to Plan Your Trip
"I took the short trip up to the Marinid Tombs at sunset and found the viewpoint a must — it offers a sweeping sense of the city lit by the setting sun and is an ideal place to pause and take in the panorama." - Elle Benson Easton
The site has historical importance and offers a great panoramic view over the city. However, the visit was limited as the tombs were under reconstruction at the time. Worth stopping by mainly for the view, but the experience would be better once restoration work is completed.

Loved it up on the hill, with a wonderful view over the Medina.
The Tombs are currently being conserved/reconstructed, but you can still wander around. Nice place for a quiet sunset.

At the time of writing, under construction and entry restricted. Nevertheless, you can go around it and still get some great views of the city. Also, the cemetery just behind is with white graves is very beautiful and peaceful, RIP.

Beautiful view from the top to watch the sunset. View of the whole Fez Medina. Good place to hang out and just admire the scenery and watch the lights in the Medina turn on. Easy climb

I followed the paths up from the medina, passed the old city walls, that I see the locals take every night from the roof of my Riad. The structures, labeled tombs and Necropolis (on Google maps) pictured are under restoration and there were to guards there. The site is indeed restricted from the road side. Anyway the views were spectacular and the ruins interesting to look at but not signposted/with information.

We had a bit of time to spare in Fes and asked our guide to bring us to watch sunsets - this place is so beautiful and it’s fantastic to learn about the cultural significance of the tombs too. At sunset we saw flocks of birds flying over and it was stunning. Good place to wind down after day activities!

Some truly amazing views from the top. Takes about 30 minutes to get there once you're out of the Medina.
Good to see some restoration work going on too.
Make sure you take plenty of water with you.
It's such a shame there is so much litter and hardly any bins, think I saw one on the way.

Do Not miss this place at any cost!!
This an amazing place to get a 360 degree birds eye view of the Fes Medina. Walkable distance from the Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate).
There is a bit of stairs climbing but easily doable.
Went there before Sunset and it was mesmerizing and breathtakingly peaceful and magical.
You will find local people selling tea coffee and pickles etc. No stalls though.
