Marion Hotel & Cellars

We recently hosted our Wedding Celebration in the Secret Garden and Glasshouse and couldn’t have been happier! We’re so grateful to Tash (functions manager) and the entire team at the Marion Hotel for bringing our special day to life. Communication in the lead-up was excellent, and we really appreciated being able to meet beforehand to discuss any details. The setup and pack-down on the day were seamless, making the whole experience completely stress-free. Our guests had nothing but praise for the friendly staff, incredible food, and generous servings — everyone left full and happy! We’d highly recommend the Marion Hotel’s Secret Garden and Glasshouse to anyone looking for the perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion.

im so sorry this is a bit late but we hosted my best friends bridal shower 2 weeks ago in the outdoor function room and it had to have been one of the best services we’ve ever experienced!!! Everyone was so nice and helpful throughout the whole night but a very special shout out to Rene (the manager im assuming) she was hands down THE BEST! we all loved her so much we received so much feedback even from our guests regarding her performance!!! She was just amazing so so helpful, funny, kind and just brilliant! definitely put the venue on the map for us! such a good experience

Had my aunty’s birthday dinner last night, our server Jordan was beyond amazing. He was Very friendly, bright and helpful, can tell he definitely loves his job. Would 100% go back :) plus the food was a 10/10

Went to the Marion hotel with interstate guests as was on way home and had a 1.5 hour drive to get home in country ! Thought would be lovely but I was mistaken ! Thought after the renovations etc would be an ideal place for dinner as had previously many years ago been for dinner ! I was so so incredibly disappointed friends Ordered the mushroom gnocchi the size of the gnocchi would have fitted on a side plate and tasted like paste no flavour and over top price for less than an entree serve The chicken parmigiana was small should be a full size but looked very very small and was burnt around the edges and thin ! The drinks were I suppose reasonable for city prices ! We called to book in but were told just roll up as it’s not busy well it was booked out ! And pay the prices for 4 and than get your own cutlery and napkins etc and collect your food - very disappointing ! Went to use the ladies toilets and paper everywhere and no soap to wash hands ! Advised bar staff re toilets but seemed not interested ! The chairs we sat on 2 were badly stained on the seats and needed a clean ! A very very expensive night over $200 for 4 meals and a drink each ! Was so incredibly disappointed. What has happened to dining and experience ! Very very disappointed ! Won’t be going back ! Felt like take ya money and on your way ! Disappointed ! Only one bar staff member seemed interested in chatting to you young Tom nice young man! The other staff tried to chat to and ask what to drink etc ! And NO ROAST of the DAY ! My elderly friend all he wanted was roast of the day !what sort of dining experience has no roast !? No roast I was told you get what’s on the menu and that’s all we have ! Fish n chips what sort of fish ?? Pizzas are basic nothing to write home about! Very very disappointed ! Would have stopped further down the coast of knew they were open after heading home ! Will not be returning ! First time have eaten in the city in years was so Looking forward to the whole experience ! Well left us with an experience that our hip pockets certainly will remember ! Very very disappointed ! Ps since I posted this review I have been in contact by email and also by response below ! Not that it was offered and wasn’t looking for but wasn’t even offered a glass of wine to return and change my mind etc ! Well once bitten twice shy ! It takes 79% of resources to market to a new client 6% to get the client to return and if they attend 3 times they are generally loyal for life ! Think about the marketing ! The experience that I felt and my friends family from WA! And they have won numerous WA tourist awards ! What do you think they gathered from this !? I live in the country ! Where if need to would I stay in the city !? Tried to support a local SA business honestly tried to give to a local and deeply disappointed !

The room I visited to catch up with a mate was very nice. Not sure of the rates but as a very local I never ever go to the Marion cellars. The range available is impressive but the prices are uncompetitive and although open late I'd rather ride my bike to the Highway Hotel on Anzac Highway to save considerable money and they are open even late r

My daughter, daughter inlaw granddaughter, and myself had dinner in your restaurant last night and our waiter Jordan was absolutely amazing very helpful and he made sure that we satisfied very polite young man. Thank you Jordan. Rosalie Cooper & family

Yes the rooms are comfy and mattress is great! Good going! The food! Oh my god. This isn’t pub food “well it is” but it’s done to restaurant quality. The pizza has a perfect Neapolitan style base, thin light and fluffy, toppings were sensational “ I had chilli prawn.” The previous night I had the burger. It had a Big Mac style with a dill mayo and the most perfect caramelised onions. Wow. I highly highly recommend. The food I ordered was doin service for clarity. I didn’t dine in but definitely this kitchen Is doing great things! Well done.

Last time i stayed at the Marion hotel. There was a hair in my dinner. But i let it go because the staff refunded my money and were really great about it. And the coffee downstairs for $6 bucks for a small latte was less than average. Anyways..... Sunday 29/06/2025 I stayed due to having workmen at my house, just wanted a night of quiet. I was on a different level to last time. Level 3. When i got on the lift and got out there must of been a whole level worth of dirty dishes, left over food, glasses - from people ordering room service. The whole level Stunk! The room was different. Not just the issue this time around!! I was so tired i pracitically went straight to bed. Woke up to have a shower. Hair everywhere in the bathroom. And worst of all the toilet was absolutely disgusting! Clearly the cleaners are cutting corners. I couldn't change rooms as i was checking out today. Didn't take photos. As no one should see what i saw. Appalling!! After this i absolutely will NOT be returning to Marion hotel.
