Marion Hotel & Cellars

The food was honestly, terrible We booked a private room for 50 people and all were disappointed. A number of people woke up the next day with gastric upset that lasted 2-3 days . I have tried to reach out to the hotel and there has been no response. The room we hired was adequate and the staff who worked the room were great . Overall for a place that food and drink are key, the food was a 3/10. If say if you’re reading this then find a place with better reviews. Sadly disappointed

Very nice and modern venue. Service and staff was great, however quite disappointed with the food quality. The Beef burger at $26 was very dry or overcooked or felt like it was re heated. Portions could be better and would be great at this price to have had a beef patty made in house, which would have been of a much better quality.

I had lunch today from the Senior’s Menu in the restaurant. So refreshing to eat a meal that was not over-salted or floating in mayonnaise or other dressing or fat/oil. Generous serve, appropriately priced. Good service too. Such a lovely experience. Thank you.

What an amazing experience. I travel for business often and this is the best hotel in Adelaide for the price. Rooms are inviting, clean and well equipped. I love that you can cast your phone to their TVs. Food is top notch and service is always with a smile.

Fantastic lunch, thank you. Waited 34mins for our lunch. I believe recommended time should be no more than 20mins. Tables needed to be cleaned quicker. In other words get more staff or staff who are better at their jobs.

Recently had a meal here and was overall very disappointed. The QR code on the table didn’t work for ordering as a start. So we went to the bar and ordered. I had a beef schnitzel with salad and gravy. For the price of $26.50 for a half serve I was underwhelmed. The chips were like warm. The gravy Luke warm and the schnitzel itself was barely warm. The drink was fantastic and cold. The service was okay. Not in a hurry to return sorry

EDIT: After posting my review I was contacted by management. I was plesently surprised that we were offered a change of room & a substantial dinner voucher after our experience on the first night. The new room was just as beautiful (3rd floor after changing from 1st floor) and comfortable the waiter who took my meal order was kind and understanding of my needs top job to him, I REALLY enjoyed my second attempt at the steak, salad had dressing steak was cooked nicely and so tasty! AND we didn’t hear a peep of music so we can have a safe trip home today. Very grateful to management and staff to turn around our experience at this establishment, impressed by the thoughtfulness and kindness & the chocolates! Thanks so much! A couple of suggestions would be to put a *noise effected warning on certain rooms particularly above the entertaining area, I think if we where aware and paid a lower rate then that’s on us. Also to definitely have ONION or any extra ingredients placed on the menu where relevant. Thank you. We Currently on our first night of two at the motel. The rooms are comfortable and updated. We went downstairs for dinner with the kids, live music playing very pretty outdoor/indoor area. Staff were kind, nice vibe. Paid $70 for a kids chips and nuggets and my steak. When ordering I specifically let the waitress know I have an intolerance to onion. She was very kind and put on my order that I’m allergic so my salad would arrive fresh with no onion (as the pre made ones always have onion) i ordered Scotch fillet with sweet potato chips a side of gravy and a salad again stating I couldn’t tolerate onion. When our token buzzed everything was ready except my steak which had been made with normal chips, no problem, I waited and they served the meal to the table, my meal arrived with the steak, some sort of white sauce underneath & vegetables with a weird sauce on the side with flakes. While the waitress let me know that the sweet potato fries has ONION POWDER on them, I asked if the normal fries have this powder and let her know that my order was mixed up, she returned and said yes they do. I asked again for my order giving my husband the fries, at this stage my meal returned my meat was way underdone and near cold, salad had absolutely no dressing so it was really dry to eat - they did kindly give me veg also.. but I couldn’t have gravy because it too contains ONION. Honestly…. On the way out I checked the menu. The sweet potato fries and normal fries DO NOT state onion powder. This is a huge concern for someone with an intolerance or allergy. I ate my near cold steak and dry salad for $50 returned to our room and it’s 10pm the music from down stairs is so loud I can hear it over our white nose machine making it impossible to sleep, They did let us know about the live music stating “don’t worry you won’t be able to hear it from your room” I can hear every base beat. Frustrating after 6 hours of travelling today. Won’t be staying here again, quite disappointing all round, I don’t recommend,

Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant Mother's day experience at the Marion hotel. Staff were obviously exhausted, which came across as bitter and irritable. However, the main issue we experienced was the food quality. The food servings were small and did NOT reflect the menu descriptions. OVERPRICED for the value. The food did not taste nice at all, it was bland and disappointing. This was not our first time here, but unfortunately it is not worth returning again :(.
