Mariposa

We stayed at Mariposa over Christmas and NewYear's at their Family room. |It was absolutely lovely! The food buffet was good, especially during the festivities. |Kind staff, easy-going atmosphere, children friendly. The private beach is great. |Location is near to the Dolphins/Whales excursions

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The location is magnificent, the staff are excellent and food is delicious. We booked half board and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel| We booked a dolphin encounter boat the night before and reception organised It within the hour. The boat picked up up right from the hotel. There is plenty of space (loungers, table/seating area etc)| Breakfast, lunch and Dinner was delicious.

Shabby and dirty and definitely not worth the money! We liked: - Location - View We didn’t like: - it was very dirty and although we told the reception right after check-in to clean our room again, it was still not properly cleaned. (See photos) - we were not able to put anything into the wardrobe because the shelves were so dirty (also not cleaned after telling them) - there was mould in the fridge - the toilet was dirty - the furniture was outdated and broken - the staircase was never cleaned and dirty - the rooms were poorly soundproof, we heard everyone on the same floor taking showers and talking as the window of the shower goes into the hallway - the reception staff, especially the lady, was not very attentive, no one said hello or goodbye when we came or left. One couple who was already staying there for 2 weeks was asked if they want to check in.... - the breakfast was very basic but the fresh egg dishes and fruit were ok.

The hotel was very great and is a good starting point for trips thorough the south from Mauritius. The food were also great and we enjoyed the hole time. Our room was clean and comfortable. The Personal of the hotel was always friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful, family-run hotel that offers a great alternative to the island's large luxury hotel complexes. You feel at home and have a great view of Le Morne Brabant from the hotel beach. The service staff are very warm and courteous. The Food was delicious.

What a tranquil boutique hotel. Smaller in size in the best way possible compared to large chain hotels, you really get to benefit from the peaceful atmosphere here. The highlight of the property is the beachfront area, flanked by a giant tree, fairy lights, soft music and great food, you could spend hours on the beach while watching the beautiful view of Le Morne Brabant in front. The rooms are nicely decorated and some of them have sea views, which was a nice touch. Also loved the lush botanical gardens 😍

Very good restaurant, very good staff, they where so helpful with everything. The room was clean, every day they change towels and bedshits. I strongly recomand the place, because the view was stunning. It is a must to stay here, if you want to vizit the sud-west of Mauritius. Thank you very much, Mariposa!

This is the worst place we ever stayed. Having a huge argument with the waiter / manager about whether we signed the bill for two glasses of wine, when we did and he eventually agreed, was a cherry on top.|We did not choose this establishment and hope nobody else needs to survive one night like we have to.
