Marischal College

As a member and volunteer of Aberdeen Youth Movement and MSYP for Aberdeen Central with whom I volunteer, I often find myself in the halls of Marschial College in one meeting or another but I was most recently present when I along with Bridge of Don Sea Cadets & Royal Marine CadetsSea which I volunteer with attended a memorial ceremony in remembrance of VE-DAY 80 years. It was a landmark moment in my and so many lives especially for those who’ve taken part. The buildings were lit up beautifully and the beacon itself made it that much more transcendent in its appearance. Thank you to all those who turned out for this event and I look forward to returning to this important Aberdeen landmark soon.

Marischal College in Aberdeen is an impressive building, renowned for its spectacular Gothic architecture, being one of the largest granite structures in the world. Located in the heart of the city, this iconic site not only houses the local administration but also serves as a venue for various cultural and community events. During the holiday season, Marischal College becomes even more special, as it hosts the Christmas market, transforming the area into a magical scene filled with lights, traditional stalls, and a wonderful festive atmosphere. It is a fantastic place where both locals and tourists can enjoy the Christmas spirit in a fairytale setting!

Of all buildings made with granite in the world, this is the second largest. The design is very impressive, I must say. This is a phenomenal structure, and it is punctuated with eye-catching and intricate details. It is also a very important building to the city of Aberdeen - housing the city council, and serving many other public purposes. Public transport to and from here is quite straightforward and it is a very picturesque location for photographers and tourists.

Don’t know much about the education the college provides, but it surely stands out for its architectural beauty!

When I looked for things to see in Aberdeen this wasn't 1 of them. It should be in the top 3 sights to see. It is stunning and to see it in a Scottish city centre. Only saw it from the outside as we didn't have time to see if we could go inside. Would come back again.

Marischal College in Aberdeen is an architectural gem and a must-visit. We visited with our family and were thoroughly impressed by the grandeur and beauty of the building. The Gothic architecture is stunning, and the intricate details are truly breathtaking. It’s a perfect spot for photos and to appreciate the rich history of the area. The staff were friendly and informative, making our visit even more enjoyable. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Aberdeen!

If you love architecture, this is a must visit. A beautiful and stunning building. It was a pleasant surprise to see a wedding party here.

Was amassed by the lights,buildings style are incredible,staff and police officers was most lovely lads that did them job spot on for securing area and people. Hope I will see it again next year! It's free!!!
