I ordered a grilled octopus and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and the only reason why I gave 4 stars to the atmosphere is because you are sitting on the side of the road, but then again it makes it more authentic. The prices are very reasonable, I had the opportunity to go to La Nueva Viga market to compare and the prices for the same octopus were way more than Kguamo. I would visit again.

It’s a good place to visit specially on the weekends, very casual and family style. The service can be a bit slow and some dishes take 20 - 30 minutes to be prepared, so be patient. On the weekends they have a grill, they have fair prices and fresh produce. Very low key but worth visiting.

Very nice, clean and relatively small seafood restaurant. Grest selection of diffrrent preparations of fish, shrimp, oysters, other combinations. Beer on tap and by the bottle. Mescal is a house specialty. I had an excellent shrimp coctail with house sauce. Prices seem standard for the area. Service fast and friendly. There is an indoor, sit down restaurant and about a block away there is a street cart version that has the same food, but no alcoholic beverages. I recommend the indoor restaurant for a more relaxed evperience. It is more assessible for handicaped patrons. Popular and egalitarian. High hygine standards.

I first visited this place in its original location seven years ago, sadly with the new location came new management and things went down hill for costumers. The staff and manager are roughly the same age and are more interested in flirting with each other than looking after the tables. My table was located across the kitchen, and it took them almost 10 minutes to take my order, looking into the kitchen when prepping my food, the cook smell every shell as he popped them open, with made me wonder when was the last time they received new product. I had to remind the waiter several times about my beverage, funny thing is that there was only another table, besides mine. ** 2017 review ** Las "pescadillas" de mariscos son un gran complemento de los cocteles, la selección de cervezas acompañan los platillos. El personal es muy atento.

Had a lovely, quick lunch here. Service is quick, it was fun to sit at the bar and watch our food be prepared. Overall, quite enjoyed myself.

Google
Delicious fresh tostadas. I loved the combination and shrimp tostada. Which pairs nicely with the small cup of hot complementary seafood soup.

Yelp
Delicious from the very start. Fresh delicious unpretentious seafood in the heart of Centro.

Yelp
It may be surprising, but Mexico City is the second largest Port for fish, second to only Tokyo. With that said, you may be a bit skeptical to eat raw fish here. I came to El K from a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. At first sight, you'll quickly notice that this place is super clean. Even the condiments on the table are wiped clean. This is always a good sign when you're eating something like seafood. Once you sit down, they'll give you a free snack of saltine crackers with fish ceviche. We then ordered the fish tostada, the shrimp, and the crab. Everything was super fresh and delicious. My personal favorite was the fish but my girlfriend preferred the blue crab. Either way, if you love seafood, you'll need to come here for a bite.

Yelp
One of the food videos we watched highlighted this place (there seems to be a street stand and a sit-down restaurant, we ate at the street stand and it was so much fun) and specifically mentioned the pulpo tostada (octopus). Fun fact: Mexico has the second largest seafood market after Tokyo, so we definitely wanted to eat some fresh seafood. We were able to snag two seats, ordered a pulpo tostada each to snack on. It was such a refreshing snack, lots of different textures and flavors! The octopus was extremely fresh and tender, it was garnished beautifully with vegetables, and seasoned well with lime juice and olive oil I believe. We also got this mini seafood soup which was steamy hot and had good spice to it. We kept seeing reviews that this place had closed down, but I'm really glad we still tried to look for it because this was a really great experience!

Yelp
Kinda funny - the night before, we were at Contramar, eating their super fancy version of a seafood tostada. The next day for lunch, here, eating the exact opposite of a fancy seafood tostada. If I were a bajillionaire and I could only eat at one place forever, obviously it would be Contramar, those tostadas were amazing, but on the other hand, we stuffed our faces here, plus a great cocktail, for like one order of those tostadas at Contramar, so yeah. Given the price, this is absolutely just as recommended as Contramar - and way easier to get in! (It was weirdly empty when we were there, and only like half a block off the beaten path! It shouldn't be empty, it was delicious.) Between the two of us, we had 3 tostadas, a shrimp cocktail, and one empanada, and after eating it, we decided that was too much food. Too bad - they also had oysters Rockefeller for a great price, that I'm sure would also have been delicious, and if we had been in CDMX for an extra day, we would totally have come back to try it, but yeah. We left... very full, and extremely content with the quality of everything. I'm pretty picky about octopus, and the octopus in my octopus tostada was fantastic. I'm also picky about shrimp cocktails, and that was one of the best I've had. (The empanada was pretty good too, but we agreed we wouldn't get it again - I think had some mayo or something in it, as well as a bunch of cheese and a thick dough, the sum of which meant it was very rich. I'd stick to the more seafood-focused items if I were back here again. Including, definitely, more of those tostadas.) And yeah, also surprisingly, they also had super affordable cocktails (in the US, a place like this definitely wouldn't be able to get, or afford, a liquor license, so that's one nice thing about Mexico City...) I tried their specialty cocktail of the however-long, the "mescal mule" (it was posted on the wall instead of on their menu, so I dunno how long it's there) - I totally wouldn't have thought of making a mule out of mescal, but it was a pretty excellent, super refreshing drink, that I would totally drink any time I was back.) Only one very, very minor complaint, that I feel sort of silly admitting, since I was in a foreign country and they're under no obligation, but... I could tell that this was a proper local place, not specifically for the tourists, because everything is very much only in Spanish, and nobody there spoke much English. Definitely worth it, though, even if you have to get out Google Translate if you don't have a Spanish-speaker with you. ;)

Yelp
El K - Guamo is a seafood restaurant located right off a main shopping street in Centro. Their seafood dishes are fresh and delicious and the service is so friendly--the thing to come for is their octopus ceviche tostada, which is topped with chopped onion, cilantro, and sliced avocado. The flavor of the ceviche was so unique and the slices of octopus so tender; the crunch of the tostada contrasted perfectly with the softer, chewier textures of the ceviche. On my visit, I also tried the house-style shrimp aguachile, which consisted of raw shrimp soaked in a dark, umami-rich marinade (heavy on garlic and Worcestershire sauce), along with onions, chiles, and cucumbers. I personally found the flavors of this aguachile way too overpowering, though it was nice for eating with the freshly fried tortilla chips and a squirt of mayonnaise to tone the saltiness down.

Yelp
This is a great lunch spot, would highly recommend for a quick bite if you're in the area. We had tortas de pulpo and the camarones al aljillo, which was plenty of food for two people. UPDATE: If you have a somewhat sensitive stomach, this place may not be for you. My sister and I were both bed ridden the next day with food poisoning.

Yelp
I could have - and probably should have - eaten half my meals here while I visited Mexico City. Just sat at a table ordering more fresh, avocado-laden octopus ceviche tostadas and giant chalices of mango aguas frescas and smelling them grilling other peoples zarandeada orders and watching weird Mexican soap operas.

Yelp
3.5+ Nothing mind blowing but pretty decent seafood option. Had a mixed plate (parillada) and it was not too bad. They cook seafood skewers right outside the door so it was a bit smoky inside.

Yelp
We stopped by here as one of the stops for our Food tour. The appearance, as well as the location, might fool you but their food is decent. I had quesadilla without cheese. This is where I learned that the authentic Mexican Quesadilla is originally made either with or without cheese. It was not the cheese galore I depicted in my head when thinking of Quesadilla. It is served on top of fried oval shaped corn tortilla topped with blue crab, octopus, shrimp and fish. So good. I think it was 30 pesos so about 1.50$. I mean... What can you ask more seriously.... Service was great and people working there were very nice!

Yelp
Ok, I'll just say it upfront. I'm a white American and this place is what I was expecting and hoping for when I came to Mexico. A large plate of assorted Mexican food including a hefty amount of fresh seafood. Combine that with tasty drinks and getting to steal stuff from my girlfriend's plate because she wasn't able to finish it, and we have a winner! Less fancy than Contramar, but just as good quality.

Yelp
Best shrimp tostadas I've had in SoCal or Mexico. Shrimp quality is great and the tostada has the perfect amount of crunch and thickness.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to eat in Mexico City and the best ceviche of all time. Love eating at the outside bar while gulping down the spicy shrimp broth before a medley of tostadas and a "shrimp cocktail." Just wow!

Yelp
Just what you would expect from a seafood place. The food was fresh and delicious. They start you off with a bit of crab salad complimentary. I had tostadas, shrimp, octupus and crab. All equally good. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'm vegetarian and they made me an avocado tostada with fresh avocado ceviche specially for me with tiny chopped strawberries in it. It was absolutely delicious. Everyone else I was with loved their food too!

Yelp
Great little taco cart with very good service and high-quality ingredients. The tostadas were excellent, especially crab and fish. Beautiful favors, fresh avocado, and an incredibly attentive server, who was on-hand with menus. A dozen plus seats line the cart and the sidewalk area, but to-go is also an option.
