Maritim Fjordhotel

I stayed here while on a weekend road trip in southwest Norway. The hotel was easy to find from the highway and is perfectly located in the centre of Flekkefjord, right beside a waterway leading out to the sea. |Free parking was available just outside the hotel entrance - this and the hotel location took the edge off the room pricing which was higher than average. |I know this hotel is not new since I was at an event there in the 1990's, but the interior is completely renovated - quite recently I am guessing - to a high standard. I ordered a single room but it did have a full size double bed. The room was very nicely decorated, as was the modern bathroom. The wallmounted flatscreen TV was large and could swivel to cover any part of the room which was a nice touch. It only supplied over the air HD linear TV channels though, but wifi speed was excellent for streaming on personal devices.|The reception/bar/restaurant area is great, with a pool table, shuffle board, darts and a gigantic flat screen tv on offer, plus access to outside patios on the side of the waterway. |I had dinner in the restaurant, a chicken caesar salad which I have to say was excellent, probably the best I have ever tasted, and the service in the restaurant was top notch. |Breakfast was a bit of a let down, limited choice of cold and hot options, only a big coffee urn to tap off the mass filtered coffee. I mean you will not go hungry at breakfast but it didnt measure up to the rest of the hotel experience, hence the 4 instead of 5 star review.

Best scenery and service. Mayor lives across the street. Cool guy. And salmon is spot on. Smoked to perfection

Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of April and from the minute I walked in you could clearly see how welcoming the reception staff were. They gave me a nice room overlooking the water which was very nice. Room was a good size and a real comfy bed.||Breakfast was nice with a good selection available.||Wifi was fast and reliable.||Had a nice walk into town which is 2 minutes away.||Would definitely use this hotel again and highly recommend it.

Went here on a trip, the restaurant and the personel were on very very high level. Came here very late and they still ordered to cook us something for dinner, the same with breakfast, had to leave at 5 in the morning and they still made us beeakfast. I strongly dissagree with any bad reviews, this place is great!

Great position along the river, overlooking the town. Friendly and accommodating staff. Stayed in a superior double with balcony facing the river. Room was a bit worn, but the bed was great. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay here again!

Good - This hotel is in a fabulous location in the centre of a fabulous small town. It’s right on the waters edge and a short walk to swimming, supermarkets, restaurants and town centre. The rooms are modern and comfortable with good beds, good showers, good bed linens and towels and plenty of storage. The curtains allow good control of light and privacy in the rooms and the windows open for good ventilation. The public areas are both inside and out and are well decorated and comfortable. We have stayed in a lot of hotels recently and although the breakfast selection was moderate, it was kept topped up and fresh and the hotel managed to provide some new and different options we hadn’t seen before such as individual omelettes and mini doughnuts for example. Staff in all areas were good and we would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.|Bad - The only thing that marred the look of the room was some stains on the chairs.
