"This 28 km² stiltegebied between the Dender and Mark rivers was recognised as Belgium’s first Urban Quiet Park and offers serene nature walks, wildlife observation and picnic spots just a short trip from Brussels. Visitors can travel on quieter “quiet zone” train carriages to Denderleeuw‑Mark station, and the area hosts De Helix, Flanders’ knowledge and training centre for nature and the environment, which runs exhibitions, workshops and guided walks to deepen appreciation of the local soundscape.
