Simply amazing. I try to not give out too many 5 star reviews, but this place deserves it.
Edit: after thinking about it, this is must visit. It's not cheap, but your not paying for fickle things, like the atmosphere. You're buying amazing food. And it's worth it.

Stumbled across this great little gem on our way to Haleakala.
The food is great. The ingredient is local and FRESH! The price point is on par with most places in Maui. We would absolutely come back on our next visit.
We can tell chef Justin prides himself on sourcing local ingredients.

One of the only decent breakfast places upcountry. The salmon eggs benedict, the bacon eggs benedict, and the Belgian waffles are all outstanding. It compares very favorably to Kula Bistro, which is delicious but the food isn't the healthiest, and to La Provence, where the flies are a problem and the wait staff is not amenable to suggestions about how you wish your food to be slightly different than the menu suggests. The prices are similar, in other words incredibly expensive for small portions, but unlike other places on Maui the food isn't low quality, and unlike Kula Bistro,

Very disappointed with lunch today after sharing the Tuna sandwich with my wife and I had the daily special soup. It was a mushroom/tomato and ok but definitely not great. I had a very hard time cutting through the bread on my open faced sandwich. Also was surprised to see the meals being prepared with bare hands which were also used to attend phone calls and moments on the computer keyboard. We have eaten here before but will definitely not return.

Fish on fish sandwhich was tasty. Ingredients are quality but still just served with regular bagette, lettuce and tomato. It was a little awkward sitting there for a while before anyone told me the specials or gave me water or told me to order at the counter... not sure why the waitresses can't take the orders at the table while their giving you water and serving your food..maybe they don't trust them with handling the money? I was also not sure if they were splitting my tip with the waitress or giving it all to the hostess that took my money but I've worked in service industry so a lot of people probably don't think about that. Either way It's good to be acknowledged soon after walking into a place. Several waitresses walked past me a few times to greet and serve water to other customers they may have recognized as regulars or something. Or maybe because they were larger groups and I was all alone, but still... it's a cozy little place so kinda hard not to notice people. The chef and lady at the cash register seemed very knowledgeable about the food and it is quality local stuff. Just felt the servers could have been a little more personable and portions perhaps a little larger.

Had a few bad experiences, capped off by the owner or manager yelling at their staff in front of us for taking our order a whole minute before opening. Didn't seem to surprise them, doubt it was the first time. They are for sale, we'll try again with the new owners, as we really would love a good breakfast place in Makawao.

Best breakfast Upcountry. Try the vanilla waffles with strawberry and the veggie benedict. You won't be disappointed. They also offer organic local eggs in all of their egg dishes.

My wife and I had the upcountry vegetable salad and a chicken club sandwich. The freshness of the ingredients came through in both dishes... Very tasty. Worth a stop if you're in the area.
