Another solid speciality coffee shop in the ultra competitive Melbourne Cafe scene. Market Lane does well in providing single origins and well thought out blends ranging for earthy to zesty for wanna be baristas like me. We were happy with our cold brew and iced latte. Service was friendly and helpful i.e. smiles all round and providing us glasses of water unasked. A class act place and becoming a Melbourne institution.

Across the rd from South Melbourne Markets. Can be busy but coffee comes quick. Friendly staff. Had the House Blend which was a medium dark roast. Slightly bitter but nice. 8/10

My favourite coffee in Melbourne. I first visited on a quiet day and I couldn’t stop thinking about the coffee afterwards. On my return visits I have not been disappointed. Even during a busy Saturday rush the standards are maintained.

Really great coffee in South Melbourne. It was great finding some respite from the busy markets and even better that the coffee was a standout. Their beans are nicely roasted and unique, and we enjoyed all the different kinds. Staff are very friendly too.

Market Lane Coffee is a must-visit for coffee lovers. Their flat white was outstanding – perfectly brewed with great flavor. I also highly recommend trying their Cinnabon pastry; it was incredibly delicious and a real standout. Plus, their hot chocolate was a hit with my daughter, she couldn't get enough of it! Excellent quality and a great atmosphere.

I had a cup of magic, but it was somewhat disappointing. The beans for the white coffee were too acidic, and the latte art was abstract—as my friend commented, ‘the heart is taking a break on holiday’

A beautiful spot for coffee and pastries just across the street from South Melbourne Market, great to catch a break after all that walking and shopping. It also faces the afternoon sun that is simply perfect while sipping on coffee on an outdoor seat.
