Total hip local place. Fresh ingredients and the food is made to order. Great coffee selection. Breakfast is amazing. From the burrito, to the sandwich, and the bakes oatmeal. All around a great local deli coffee shop. Friendly staff and a easy walk from my hotel.

Google
The food was pricey and very mediocre, potatoes were undercooked and barely warm and the toast was cold by the time it got to our table. Largest coffee cup available was 12 oz. Should have gone elsewhere for breakfast.

I am not a person to ever complain and tbh I used to love this place but after the last visit I will not be returning. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. After an hour of waiting someone asked what we ordered. We told them. About 5 minutes later the sa.e person asked us our order again. We were asked a total of 4 times what we ordered. We watched everyone who had ordered after us get their orders. I understand being busy but this was just too much. We asked for our money back and told oh sorry but we finally did get our money back after another wait. I'm really torn writing this because as I said I used to love this place so if you go expect long waits.

Google
Their burritos hit the spot in the am. Pro tips: Order ahead, sausage burritos are tasty af, and ask them specifically to make it with love. It will take an extra couple minutes if you order modifications to your burrito, The regular sausage, reg bacon and reg veggie burritos are all delicious as a mother too. Big portions

I feel this establishment has grown even better with time which is impressive. Food options are really diverse and the options for quick take out or eat in are provided. The service is also stellar and it has a great location. Missoula would be missing out without this restaurant.

Google
I used to live for their breakfast burritos but the last two we’ve had were dry as a bone. They raised their prices to $9 a burrito and they tasted best when they were $5. The famous chipotle sauce is nowhere to be found, the bacon is thin and bunched up in one place, and the potatoes are dry as dust. I’m so disappointed and I think I’ve had my last burrito from MOF. Three stars only because they used to be amazing. But I want to do one star based on the decline of quality.

Google
The food was aamzing! We speak highly of the burrito bowl and the fruit blt sandwich. Having the cashier taking phone orders and ignoring the line of customers could be handled better with communication. Liked the atmosphere of corner market and the wood furniture. Would definitely visit again! The gal ( cook ? ) who delivered our food to the table was super friendly. Presentation of food was spot on.

Google
When we ordered, we were told 20 minutes. It was not busy, we were able to get a table right away. 40 minutes later, got our order for two, (burrito and ham and cheese sandwich), but the sandwich was wrong - they brought a grilled portobello. Waitstaff said it would be 5 minutes to cook a new sandwich. By this time the place was nearly empty. 20 minutes later, we had to ask if the sandwich was ready and were told “we’re working on it right now”. They brought it out after 5 more minutes and wrong again. It was grilled cheese / terrible quality at that, very soggy. Threw it in the trash and left. Will never go back. There was another couple who came in right after we did and still hadn’t gotten their food when we left. It’s always been very slow but today was the worst. No more.

Yelp
Hubby and I had breakfast and tea/coffee pretty much every morning while staying in Missoula. The vegan breakfast burrito is delish! We shared it and felt full and satisfied for hours. We also tried the vegan burrito and the vegan blt- all excellent choices. Coffee and Tea flavors were great, too. Staff was friendly and the food always came out fairly quickly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My son and were in town for a cross country event. After searching Yelp for some good lunch, this place stood out with some good looking sandwiches and being downtown which we wanted walk through. We saw people sitting in the entree way when we arrived. I asked them how long the wait was. 30 minutes was the reply. Yikes. Well, this a market too, so we thought we'd get some drinks for race recovery and eat somewhere else. But I saw the sandwiches people were eating and they looked really good. The people who take your order are super kind, so when we went to pay for our drinks, I asked about the wait for a table. She said it was a wait for the sandwich as seating was where we wanted. Oh. I looked at my son who said it looks good, so we ordered a sandwich an ensured the wait. Mine was meatless, Hippy something or other. I'd had plenty of meat at breakfast so I went for that. My son ordered something piled with meat. I forget what it was. We tasted each others and agreed that they were both great sandwiches. I ordered a latte as well and it was good. Was hoping it would keep me awake for the ride home. We had a good experience. Plenty of self served ice water which kept my athlete hydrated, nice seating area and a good vibe to the place. If ever back in Missoula, we'll stop here again.

Yelp
Super odd experience. Exterior // nothing to really elaborate on. It's very basic glass windows and a sign out front. Parking // so this is questionable. Monday through Friday you either pay for street parking or pay in the adjacent parking garage. However on Saturday and Sunday parking is free both on the street and in the adjacent parking garage. Interior // interesting layout. Not the best logistically. When you enter to the left they have where you can buy market items and sweatshirts. The counter is directly ahead to the right. You stand in line you order your food they give you a number and if you ordered coffee you have to go to the end of the counter to wait for it. The seating area is extremely small and very under prepared. People while I were there were dropping chairs, cramming 10 people into a small 4x4 table, tripping over my chair because they weren't paying attention, Etc not a pleasant dining experience. Food // so I really wanted to like this place. I really wanted it to be like catalyst. The problem is the food is subpar. And when I asked for it to be presented on a plate the lady behind the counter stared at me like I had spoken to her in a foreign language. I had to explain to her a plate a styrofoam plate a paper plate a plastic plate a ceramic plate some kind of plate. And she says to me well usually we just wrap everything up in a burrito. Told her I don't want all my food mixed I would like it on a plate. After considerable conversation she was able to bring it out to me on a recycled paper plate of sorts. Very odd experience. The food was cold. Scrambled eggs were cold. Potatoes were cold. The avocado was supposed to be cold and was room temperature. Overview / Conclusion // I can honestly say my friends and I will never be back to this location. What a disappointment. Between the lack of seating options, lack of understanding in the customer service area of what a plate is and the cold food that I think they were counting on the microwave heating up if I were to get it in a burrito form. There's just no reason to go here when there's so many other dining options. This is a hard pass for me.

Victoria L.

Yelp
Ate here for quick breakfast! Great food, quick service and tons of options! They even have snacks for your adventure for the day and some grab and go options! Great stop before you go out for the day.

Laray S.

Yelp
This place has fairly decent reviews so we stopped in during our visit to Missoula. The staff at the front was super friendly however, the food was truly the smallest portions I've ever seen and was not good. I ordered the breakfast burrito bowl and it came out with lukewarm warm microwaved eggs (about half an egg), 10 small breakfast potatoes and a very small portion of breakfast sausage. The only substantial portion in the bowl was the spinach. When I asked if I could get more potatoes and sausage, the girl working being the food counter was very rude and told me that "everything is pre portioned and there's nothing she can or will do". I didn't take a picture of the bowl with the toppings because I didn't think about it at the time but took a picture after to show how much spinach is in the bowl. Lastly, my coffee was honestly terrible. Would not recommend this place.

Lance R.

Yelp
The breakfast burritos are off the chain and if you have time to sit inside it is fun to watch downtown Missoula pass by, enjoy!

Jessica H.

Yelp
I eat here every time I'm in Missoula which is about twice a month. The Hot Hippie is one of the best sandwiches in Missoula, in my opinion. The Focaccia is always fluffy but crispy on the outside and made in house. I don't even like focaccia, and this bread has my heart. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable about the menu and honest about wait times. This place gets busy during lunch and there's a reason for that. The coffee is great too.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
SOOOO TASTY! My partner and I actually dropped by 3 times to get some drinks and goods. The last visit we had was to grab a bite. Their sandwiches continued to look glorious so we had to try it out before we left the state. The cashier let me know that it would take 30 minutes for the sandwich to come out, which was fine. We lounged while observing that every single ingredient was quite fresh and made on the spot. I do wish they were better about estimating the time it took to make a sandwich. My sandwich took over 40 mins to come out and my partner, who ordered his sandwich a few minutes after waiting a whopping hour. A gentleman who had ordered his sandwich around the same time had to also wait over an hour. We got the philly sandwich and the founder which WERE SOOO GOOD. My tastebuds were dancing in its happy place we had both tried hundreds of thousands of sandwiches at this point and these tasted so unique~ We were both famished so that added another dimension of taste haha

Tammy W.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday morning for a late breakfast. I got a cold brew and a vegan burrito. I'm not vegan but it sounded appetizing. I was told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for the burrito. I wasn't in a hurry so I was okay with that. Cold brew was really good coffee. Vegan burrito was huge and delish. Full of veggies and tofu. Ambiance is nice and they have outdoor seating, as well. It was pretty crowded when I was there and I shared a bigger table with someone inside. A great spot downtown and if I lived in Missoula, I would come often. So be prepared for a wait if you order food, though.

Marcus C.

Yelp
I was staying near Market on Front for business and had breakfast and lunch here several days. Delicious breakfast burritos, stuffed with eggs, potatoes and sausage. I had the spicy tuna melt twice. Delicious and great prices. If you're looking for great food and coffee at a good price you can't go wrong.

Alexis M.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a hearty breakfast burrito and coffee! I got the vegetarian burrito and a cold brew. Strong & good flavored cold brew and the burrito was packed with veggies and was delicious. Loved the chipotle aioli which added a unique flavor! They are freshly made burritos so expect about a 15-20 min wait. They have a bunch of grocery items for sale as well and an outdoor patio if you aren't in a rush. I definitely recommend their breakfast and would want to try to sandwiches if I'm in town again!

Reveal T.

Yelp
I totally understand that your staff member was only aware of the problem at hand. Possibly training your staff to say, " what can I do to make this right" verses. " I don't know what to do to help you" would be advantageous to your business. I do read a trend of you protecting your business and not really hearing the true complaints of these 1 star reviews. You do know that 1 star reviews could cause issues to your business right ??

Cal DoAn P.

Yelp
Pretty crowded morning breakfast place. The sandwich I got was really good. It was all veggies and felt light and yummy cause it was hot and fresh. The coffee here was pretty good and strong too.

Dan M.

Yelp
50 minutes for a breakfast burrito at a place that specializes in short order items like that is not good. Don't be in a rush if you go by for breakfast.

Mike B.

Yelp
30-minute wait for a sandwich. Not told until after we ordered. The restaurant was half full. Big fan of local small businesses and have good memories of this spot. Would love to support it, but this has happened a couple times now and it starts to feel like the place doesn't care about our experience. Perhaps just put up a sign with the current wait time so customers know?

Ben P.

Yelp
We came in for breakfast on a Sunday. Ordered a breakfast burrito and a breakfast burrito bowl. Only after we paid did the staff member tell us that there would be a 40-45 minute wait. That's a wild wait time for a counter service establishment, but we'd already paid, so oh well. When the food came out, the staff member dropped it off and said "By the way, we're out of forks for your bowl, but there are spoons over there" and then walked off. The burrito bowl, despite its name, is actually a salad. Who suggests eating a salad with a spoon? lol. When i went to the counter to follow up the staff member just shrugged and said, "yeah, out of forks". We eventually had to go to a nearby hotel, ask them for a fork, and then eat in their lobby, which they were gracious enough to allow us to do. Besides the super weird experience and dismissive attitude of the staff, food was mid. As other reviewers noted, the eggs and potatoes in my bowl were cold. Definitely would've gone to a better, sit-down establishment with forks and table service and warm food had we known it was gonna be a long wait time, etc. Good luck, babe!

Joel R.

Yelp
I wish there was a way to not rate, but just pass along information. I went there a little bit after 12 o'clock, yep, the busiest time of day, but was told it was going to be about 30 minutes for a sandwich. I get it, you're busy, but this is a deli, 30 minutes for your food is a pretty long wait. I kind of wasted my time seeking this place out and waiting in line to order, because I couldn't wait around that long. Just a heads up for whoever. The sandwiches must be good!

Carlee S.

Yelp
Worth the wait, worth the hype. Order ahead, add 10 minutes to the expected wait time if they're busy. Get extra chipotle and garlic aoli. So good!

Donna C.

Yelp
If you are downtown Missoula do not miss this place. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you'll be happy you grabbed one of their breakfast burritos! Meat and veggie options. I opted for the sausage and egg and wow. Fantastic! The sausage was spicy and flavorful. The burrito was actually to big for me to eat. Order at the counter and they bring your food out. Super quick service, less than 5 minutes. Self serve drip coffee. Cute place to with plenty of seating both outside and on the sidewalk. I may be back tomorrow!

Maria O.

Yelp
This restaurant is located downtown so parking might not be available in front of the establishment. We went there on a Saturday for lunch , which tends to get busy. You order at a counter and find a seat to wait for your order. We split the Hot Hippie and a cup of creamy tomato soup. Both had a great flavor and hit the spot. There are also items prepackaged to take on a picknik by the river.

Christy S.

Yelp
We stopped here for a late lunch after a long travel day. It took 45 minutes to get our sandwiches. The sandwiches were *fine*. Better than average but definitely not worth the wait. We weren't expecting fast food timing but 45 min was ridiculous. Also the bread used was pretty generic, just standard sandwich bread. Of all the unique and yummy places for lunch in the old town area, this will not make our list of places to return.

Sunil R.

Yelp
This is a popular spot in the area and I can see why. I had their breakfast burritos two days in a row and they definitely hit the spot. Hearty and tasty... I wonder if I say that about anything that has bacon in it. I had a chicken salad for lunch today from there and it was good as well. Two thumbs up!

L I.

Yelp
I work downtown and chose to go here because black coffee is closed for a bit. I had a very uncomfortable experience and not worth it imo. I unfortunately had the rudest, laziest barista. The people who own the restaurant group that MOF is a part of need to 1) be more selective in who they hire and 2) do better in training their staff. Next time I'll just walk the extra few blocks to the break. Update: Thank you, I appreciate your response. I think simply increasing the customer service training and being clear about expectations could may be the best avenue. Again, appreciate the response!

Richard B.

Yelp
Food was Ok. What was supposed to be a hot breakfast (breakfast burrito bowl) was cold. Service was courteous but slow. Ordered wheat bread but received a white bread baguette. Ambiance was good.

J C.

Yelp
We stopped through for a quick lunch. It wasn't busy at all. We ordered an avo BLT and breakfast burrito. The lady at the front had some major limp d*** attitude; seemed like she was bored just taking our order. WILD! She said, "Food is 30 minutes, just so you know". That's fine, sure; makes no sense, but sure. When we finally got our food [30 minutes later], portions were super skimpy for the price! Skip it unless they completely renovate their attitudes and offerings.

Ashley K.

Yelp
When we ordered we asked how long it would be and we were told 10-15 minutes for what we ordered. We waited over 40 minutes only to get half of what we ordered and what we did get was cold. They did give us a gift card, but it wasn't enough to cover the item we never received, so an overall net loss. Not likely to return or recommend.

Lou P.

Yelp
When it's busy, you might have to wait a bit for your meal. The wait will definitely be worth it. We enjoyed our lunch so much, we came back for breakfast the next day. When you order, the cashier can tell you when you can expect your order, and both times they were accurate. Check out the breakfast burrito, it's excellent. My bison meatball sub was exceptional, and generous in size. I highly recommend everything about Market on Front.

Ben C.

Yelp
This place is great if you have an hour to wait for a breakfast burrito. It's almost kind of like they are trying to do their job slow.

Bridger C.

Yelp
Breakfast burritos are great but they Forget my aoli sauce about 50% of the time. Order extra every time and they still forget

Jan C.

Yelp
The market has a nice menu. And the food that we ate was tasty, although veggies in the Buddha bowl looked and tasted like they had been previously frozen versus being fresh. However, as many reviews have said, the wait is really long. We came on a weekend so it was busy, but it was not like there were lines to order it was mostly people waiting for their food. Seems like they need more help and/or organization in the kitchen. One of the customers talked about how they'd been told to order online to save time. So they ordered an hour in advance and yet they still had to wait 45 minutes to get their food when they got there.

Brian F.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday at 11am and this place was super busy! Market On Front is a market, deli, coffee shop, breakfast, and lunch spot. It's right in the downtown area and is a great place to sit down and eat or drink coffee if you can snag a spot. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number and find you when your food is ready. I ordered the fruity bird sandwich ($11) although I was debating between that and the chicken florentine which also looked good. The cashier said, "Definitely the fruity bird, I'm obsessed with it" and that was enough to sell me! I don't know if it was because I just did a hike and was starving but the sandwich was delicious! The sweet caramelized onions and the salty bacon go well together as they always do. I think what really made this sandwich for me was that date preserve that gave more complex flavors. It was so good that I devoured the whole thing. I also ordered the iced cold brew coffee ($2.75 for 16oz) which was good as I needed the caffeine. They also serve wine here and have free wifi too if you're looking to get some work done.

Amber B.

Yelp
The drinks are 10/10! You can taste the natural ingredients they use, even the sweeteners for the teas too. I got a natural but flavorful Arnold Palmer. Everyone's posting about the sandwiches so I thought I would give some love to the drinks here at Market On Front.

Riki C.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Makes sense why this place is highly rated, the atmosphere and food was delicious! Such a cute setting inside! And just a simple and a nice walk from downtown . The founder was extremely filling and did not disappoint! But quite messy (as you can see) And the vegan avocado was enjoyable to! (Even though they originally didn't remember the Avocado) but then brought a side out !

Chris S.

Yelp
The food her is consistently yummy! In fact it is so good there is often a long wait to get your food. It's best to call ahead. I love the casual atmosphere.. if you are just getting coffee or tea the wait is much shorter.

Mike S.

Yelp
Waited 10 minutes to order at the counter and was told a 45 minute minimum wait for a deli sandwich. To go. Umm no

John J.

Yelp
This place used to be awesome. Oh how the mighty have fallen. 2019 $5 breakfast burrito, now days $8.50, you do the math. Any interest in waiting an hour for a sandwich? This is the spot. Want to get a chicken Caesar wrap with turkey deli meat in it, again this is your place. Don't bother trying to order online minimum 45 mins on an order and you will likely wait for it regardless of when you arrive. Breaks my cold soulless heart used to be my go to spot in town. They have sold their soul to the devil that is down town hipster overpriced stuff that's ruining Missoula. A moment of silence for what used to be one of the greats. Two stars because generally the staff are friendly and nice but the inconsistency with the food and waiting time is it's Achilles heel. RIP

Lisa C.

Yelp
We came on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. It wasn't crowded yet we were told it would be 1/2 hour wait. The few of us at tables here were all waiting for food. Each of the items I asked about had an issue. No tuna now. No chicken for that salad. Staff was not friendly. Flies flying around our food. Don't validate parking. Food when it finally arrived without utensils was good but not great which is only reason for 1 star.

Bin K.

Yelp
Probably one of the best grilled portobello mushroom sandwich I've had. The pesto sauce added the perfect flavor to it. I regretted not getting one to bring back to the hotel.

Kathy E.

Yelp
I came from Vancouver Washington to visit family. While there I took a walk thru Missoula. I came across this place because of the wonderful smells I had the best breakfast burrito sandwich. Excellent job The environment was happy and professional. I will also add the bathrooms were very clean.

Trinidad A.

Yelp
My Sandwich was great! I got a BLT and both of the people I was with got one too but it took 40 minutes to get them to our table they weren't busy The people were nice though and the place is cute!

Maria R.

Yelp
Food was amazing, love the Buddha Bowl. This bowel had quinoa, chicken and lots of veggies. My daughter ordered the portobello sandwich which was out of this world. Great service too

Rae L.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and salads! Good service! These guys work hard to produce the best possible food. Doesn't hurt that my friend Cassie works there.

Christopher M.

Yelp
Incredibly bland breakfast burrito, potatoes not crispy or seasoned, flavorless eggs, decent sausage; the aioli can't be the only thing bringing flavor to the show. Also takes a forever even with only a handful of people there. Otherwise, good coffee and grocery items.

John S.

Yelp
If you're coming here to buy fancy hippie groceries, maybe this place will work for you. If you want an espresso drink or their famous aioli on a bacon, sausage, or veggie burrito? Forget it. They remain incompetent and cavalier about it. They sell nothing off their shelves, have a huge space, this am there were no customers ahead of me and they quoted me 30 minutes. (Yes THIRTY) minutes to get me a burrito. Absurd. I gave it 6 months because the owner replied that they were working on it but now this place is just a wast of space.

Amanda W.

Yelp
Delicious coffee ridiculous breakfast burritos. Seriously, the breakfast burritos are everything.

Kameron M.

Yelp
I'm a sandwich snob & this was the best hot sandwich I've ever had! I ordered the Hot Hippie and WOW! The focaccia was remarkably fresh and all the ingredients tasted fresh out the garden. The freshness came at the small cost of taking 40 minutes from order to pickup time, but good things come to those who wait :). If I ever find myself in Missoula again, I'll definitely be visiting Market in Front! My partner also loved his sandwich.

Dan P.

Yelp
The food is great. It's nice inside. But don't think you can order ahead or online. 3 times I've ordered ahead and 3 times I've had to wait until they prepared it.

Annie B.

Yelp
Amazing raw vegan Missoula wrap! I get it every time I drive through Missoula! And the charred lemon vinaigrette is amazing! I get an extra one (.75 cents and great on more of the wrap or on a salad for work!) I ordered and paid for avocado last time and it was not on the wrap. So maybe check your order before you leave the store (it's hard to when it's a wrap- but sucks when you paid for something you didn't get)

Jodi U.

Yelp
Very confusing order que. staff not very helpful. The food was okay. Seating was odd.
