The food was okay overall. The French onion soup was delightful and easily the highlight of the meal. The steak was a great cut and cooked well; however, the salt level was overwhelming—borderline salt lick territory. The Alfredo was similarly far too salty. The grilled salad was a complete disaster, while the Caesar was just okay. On the bright side, the service was excellent and attentive.

Google
The food is fantastic, the price for the quality is there for sure. The drinks are just as good as the food. The steak was cooked perfectly, melted in the mouth. I also tried the oyster shooter appetizer, it could have used a smokey flavor mixed in besides the Sriracha in my opinion, but it wasn't bad. Great flavor options here and I will come back to try more in the future.

Market Street Blade & Barrel provides a fantastic dining experience. The service is truly outstanding-- attentive and professional. The food is a genuine culinary treat. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared making it easy to find a new favorite on each visit.Their Happy Hour (seven days a week) is another standout-- affordable, generous, and a great way to sample some of their best dishes. This gem of a restaurant will not disappoint you!

Pleasantly Surprised 😮 Double 👌 WOW. We were greeted by two smiling faces to show us to our table. Then the most amazing, friendly, knowledgeable waiter walked us through the incredible menus and ASSURED US that we would hands down be eating the most delicious food in Redding. He was right! We were given all the menus which included cocktails 🍸, beer, seasonal menus alongside the daily offering menu. There is no way anyone can come in, and not find a dish they love. From Duck, Steak, Seafood, Poultry right down to specialty soups and salads. My meal consisted of the chicken artichoke and Brie crostini as my appetizer along with a smoked apple butter old fashioned (Yummy) . It was Amazing. Then I had a beautiful salad which I might say they have multiple dressings which I appreciate. I had a lemon vinaigrette and poppy seed with blue cheese crumbles over my salad. I had ordered the pork chop which was served with caramelized onions and seared with apple butter on the top of the pork chop. Under was a plentiful potato cake and let me tell you.......... it was absolutely delicious melt in my mouth Sensational. The chef did an amazing job. We finished off our meal with a New York cheesecake made in house with a raspberry puree that was also made in house. Let me tell you "it was so delicious I'm still thinking about the meal today". Another thing I appreciated is the restaurant was well staffed. They were A WELL OILED MACHINE that worked perfectly in Sync. The owner was gracious, friendly and checking on his customers and showed deep appreciation for his staff. So important these days to work with an interested and present owner. I was close to the kitchen and "The Chef was precise and efficient with his time". He did not allow his creations to sit idle in waiting. I loved my experience and this restaurant FAR SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS. 😃 For the record, I do not know anyone from this establishment. I however am a hardworking individual who is tired of paying good money for mediocre food and I finally found a gem !

Google
This is a great place for business lunches, special dinners & drinks with friends. The staff is amazing & if you want the best appetizer ever, just order the "Chicken Artichoke & Brie Crostinis". Amazing food, service & atmosphere. Love supporting this locally owned restaurant.

Google
Went for Sunday Brunch. It was very good. Great company and food.

Google
Our waitress was fantastic. We were rushed through dinner by the hostess but the waitress made it ok. Food was fantastic.

Google
Absolutely amazing. It's not as expensive as I thought it was going to be. Our server, Taylor, was absolutely perfect. She checked on us enough to let us know she cares, but not so much as to be annoying. She's the best. My wife got the Wagyu Burger, with tomato basil soup, absolutely amazing. I got an 8oz Top Sirloin with fettuccine Alfredo and salad. So good. I've never put horseradish on steak before, Taylor opened my eyes to this. If you want to take a special someone to a romantic restaurant in Redding without breaking the bank, I recommend Market St Blade and Barrel.

Yelp
We had a 5pm reservation, first time to this restaurant. We ordered some items off of the Happy Hour Menu: corona, lemon drop (so good!) Mac and cheese with bacon, French onion soup and the surf & turf skewers. French onion Soup was DELICIOUS, we added a little salt to the other two dishes and they were really good too. For dinner I ordered the $24 Caesar - it was good and it was big but it was a lot for a basic good tasting Caesar. Husband ordered the Chicken Parm over pasta with a red sauce and he loved it. Portion was huge and he brought half home. For dessert we had the cheesecake and the cream brûlée, both really good. Only downside, if you are dropping almost $200 for dinner, the bathrooms need to be clean and upscale. Mold in the ladies room toilet at the waterline - yuck - and Toilet paper dispenser broken and laying on the floor in the stall. This needs improvement. Overall we were happy with our meal and we will be back.

Yelp
Located in downtown Redding with plenty of street parking. Has a few different entrances depending if you are there to eat or the lounge part to drink and listen to music. We were seated quickly at the bar area where they serve full menu. Waiter was extremely nice and attentive. Good vibes all around. Gave 4 stars due to the prime rib not being the best I've had and the caramelized onions tasted burnt. Raspberry Moscow mule was good but wrong vodka. My fault for not ordering it so no issue. Probably won't come again but cool place to grab a nice steak dinner.

Erin R.

Yelp
This has become our favorite happy hour stop! They have an extensive menu for happy hour ranging from smash burgers to filet and shrimp skewers to their famous artichoke Brie toast. The prices are perfect and the drinks are delicious.

Chris D.

Yelp
The shrimp tacos and chicken fettuccine Alfredo were both great dishes with well-balanced flavors and not overworked. The chicken in particular was perfectly cooked, with a nice crispy pan sear and great depth of flavor. Service was attentive and welcoming as well.

Yelp
First time there I'm so glad I tried it. I wished I had gotten the names of our waitress and receptionist it was yesterday Wednesday the 30th I just wanted your employer know they have 2 gems in those 2 women. They made the whole experience better . Smiles on attentive excellent. The food was amazing delicious,so glad I tried the French onion soup best I've ever eaten the duck was good mine could have use a little more of the delicious glaze but it tasted fantastic. The decor is interesting we didn't have enough time to really check it out because we were going to the concert next door but we we diffidently be back I gotta try a steak and get some more of that AWESOME onion soup. Thank you all for making our Wednesday night better than I was hoping for. Bob

Yelp
Is it possible to have another? Ok, this is our newest favorite downtown restaurant. We came in for the weekend brunch and it was excellent. We sat at the bar just in time, as it quickly filled up. Ordered drinks and food from our smiley bartender. Amber, I believe is her name:) It was noonish so I had a cold beer and my wife had a mimosa. She ordered pancakes (delicious) that came with bacon and I got the bacon because she's vegetarian. I ordered the beef sliders and was surprised when there were three of them. Although they came with bacon and cheese, I added my extra bacon. I can't stop thinking about these burgers! Great char, bun, size and the price. Pro tip: have the salad with them so you can add lettuce and tomatoes to the burgers. Definitely coming back for the brunch. Yes, another beer please.

Yelp
Stopped in on our little Redding Road trip and really enjoyed it! We started with a Peach Burrata Salad and Bone Marrow apps, both of which were super yummy! The salad was refreshing and cheesy and the marrow hearty and warming. My sis and I split the raspberry lemon drop cocktail which was sweet and tangy, like a boozy lemonade and my husband hand their old fashioned special which he really enjoyed as well. For our meal, we had the shrimp tacos (perfectly cooked shrimp and a wonderful sauce), steak frites(that pepper corn sauce was FABULOUS) and the steak fettuccine Alfredo(creamy and comforting with wonderful steak bites) and all of us really loved our meal. Honorable mention: the (not pictured) French onion soup was one of the best I've ever had. The vibes are a laid back version of a steakhouse which made for a comforting experience. And our waiter was wonderful, he was always there to make sure we had the best experience possible. Love seeing businesses like this killing it!

Yelp
Super fun happy hour with good food and good prices. This place was a sleeper for us because we walked in unexpectedly to find a nice atmosphere and good food and drinks to go with it!

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner from out of town on a cousins recommendation. Jim had grilled peach burrito. I had a sirloin salad . Delight full fare.

Yelp
The french onion soup was delicious and my Bi-bin-bu really good Service was great. We could not finish it all. Try it you will like it

Kerry-Lynn Y.

Yelp
The atmosphere was attractive and the waitress was pleasant enough, but it took 40 minutes to get our food even though it was after 1:00 pm and there were only two other tables filled. We ordered a summer shrimp wrap, which was 99% salad filling that we could get at any grocery store and one or two shrimp. Mine was grilled and my husband's wasn't, even though we ordered the exact same thing. The pasta salad side was so loaded with dressing that it was hard to enjoy the ingredients. This was my birthday lunch and it was disappointing to say the least.

Yelp
A Thursday evening, our 30th anniversary, and a pleasant enough dinner at Market Street Blade and Barrel. Dave and I shared most everything. Food: appetizer, beef carpaccio ($23) - delicious! French onion soup - great flavor, but where were the onions? Rib eye steak (cooked perfectly) with garlic mushroom topper and roasted Brussels sprouts - also delicious, and $77 (included the soup). Grilled wedge salad ($19) - while this is one of my favorite salads and it was served with abundant blue cheese crumbles and red onions (I asked for no cherry tomatoes), the lardons were overcooked and had the texture of small pebbles with very little "give" in the center (like they'd been sitting in a roasting pan for a day or two and warmed up over and over and had lost most of the bacon-y flavor). The Ferrari Carano Chardonnay ($14/glass) was excellent, as always, but wow - short pour on the first glass. I ordered a second glass and it was a typical 6 ounces. John, our waiter, was attentive and friendly. We didn't comment on any of the shortcomings of the meal to him - why would we? The items that were subpar were not worth the time and disruption to a celebratory dinner. It was a decent try by the restaurant, but fell short of the $212 tab (included tip). May try again, may not. Decor was subtle, a bit upscale from the former owners' style. It was a quiet night with most tables full.

Yelp
The best French onion I've had since Paris. Everyone in my group was happy with their meal. Is definitely go back

Marcus B.

Yelp
Worst thing about this place is how long it takes to push out food. Waited over a hour for a few steaks. Servers get looked at poorly because of how bad their kitchen staff is....
google avatar

L B.

Yelp
Spectacular cocktails The service in the bar was friendly and prompt . Now let's talk about their mouth watering food! There were several of us in our party and everyone was very satisfied with their choices

Cher P.

Yelp
The food was great. So was the service. Kind of pricy.i really like the onion soup. We had the ribeye and it was so big, I had to take 1/2 of mine home. I'll definitely be back

Briana W.

Yelp
My husband had taken me here for my 23rd birthday just recently. When I say from the moment we walked in to the moment we left it was a great experience. We were sat and had out waters and drinks nearly immediately. Our waiter had a great personality. The food was amazing and I highly recommend their blackberry drop martini. It was such a nice and chill dinner but also fancy at the same time. We will be back!

Yelp
We recently tried this restaurant as we had received a coupon for a discount, and I'm glad we did. The restaurant was clean and relatively quiet, nice atmosphere for a date night. We were a party of three, and arrived at the tail end of Happy Hour, so two of us who ordered the French onion soup got a Happy Hour price, and my "entree" which was the shrimp tacos was also on the Happy Hour menu. In all, our check was very reasonable due to the discounts, and all the food was delicious! If you want to have a nice steak dinner, it could be rather expensive, but no more than any other good restaurant and definitely high quality. My son ordered the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender and absolutely worth the price. We will definitely be going back as there were a few items on the menu we can't wait to try!

Laura Izatt ..

Yelp
We went for lunch last week, The shrimp tacos are out of this world! Jamie is the best ! Service was wonderful!

Kimberly M.

Yelp
This was our first time at this restaurant, and we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, we were overly disappointed, and do not plan to return. The market fish was scallops. Three small scallops were served over pasta that was spicy to the point of inedible. More importantly, the price for the meal was exorbitant for what we received. Filet mignon was the second meal, and while the flavor was okay, it was not a superior cut of steak worth the $70 price tag. We expect higher prices at restaurants in the current climate, but we eat out often, and most other restaurants at least attempt to serve a more quality meal for their higher prices. This meal was honestly disappointing and as previously stated, exorbitantly overpriced. The service was okay, and the waiter was interactive and friendly, but not an experience that matched the 4 star experience as advertised. We have had much better quality food with larger portions and better prices elsewhere downtown. My advice is to stick with what you like and know, because the hype of Blade and Barrel didn't deliver as expected.

K S.

Yelp
Food is amazing! Came in for Happy Hour. Wings , French Onion Soup , Steak and shrimp ! Drinks are good, staff is excellent.

Yelp
Now before saying anything about this, I did not expect to find fine dining in this area of California. Most people would assume that cattlemen's or Logan's is the finest dining you could find here. However, this place surpasses them in every way by Miles. Unfortunately you definitely do pay for the experience which means that not everyone will be able to indulge in this, but the quality of the food and service is about equal to the price. I won't pass this off as a five-star dining establishment, but they're certainly trying and the effort shows! Having unique cocktails often and a decent sized menu that offers fine dining options as well as a lovely atmosphere and top-notch service, this place really is one of a kind. And if you feel like treating your partner, family, or just a dear friend to something extra special I would highly suggest you try here.

Yelp
Really great food. Had grilled Peach Buratta and beef tips side. Fixed perfect. Service was top notch. The place has a nice interior. A great place for a night out.
google avatar

Trinh D.

Yelp
The cocktail bar next door is great. The food is okay here. Overpriced for what it is. The fish tacos are good.
google avatar

Jp R.

Yelp
The restaurants atmosphere was my style and inviting. Our Server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was good. My daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo, my husband had the chicken Parmesan and I had a New York. They liked their meals as well. My steak was excellent quality of meat and cooked to perfection, great flavor, however it's very over priced. I've been to some high end places that do not charge this much for an even better steak. I think it's ridiculous for Redding. But, it's one of the best places I've been too since moving to the area a year and half ago. Will I be back, yes I will, but only for a very special occasion.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Excellent ribeye steak cooked rare which was delicious. The winner was their French onion soup made with what I think is the ribeye meat juices as it had a hearty beef flavor. The place is a happy place for locals and everyone goes out of their way to be nice.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I had steak and garlic fries and my hubby had spicy fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Yum!!!
google avatar

Kathy V.

Yelp
With the choice of outside and inside seating my cravings were to eat a juicy ribeye steak. Yelp pulled up Market Street and Barrel. Upon arrival we were offered to sit inside or outside. Not feeling comfortable just yet to eat inside so we kept it outside Greeted by a friendly waiter who was really polite. Will take the tempura shrimp tacos and the 16oz steak. The 16oz is a lot for myself I can only finish 4oz so why not share? It came with choice of soup or salad and a side. Ill take the French onion soup please. With a full bar, will take to Irish Mules. The outcome? We enjoyed every bite. 4 stars for serivce and food!

Dale P.

Yelp
Food is excellant, service and drinks were great also. I wish they had fish on the menu, or better selection of entrees.
google avatar

Annette D.

Yelp
Came here tonight hubby had the fillet beef stroganoff, I had the filet and veggies. It was so delicious, but very pricey, but well worth it. We both ate about half of ours and we're gonna save it for tomorrow nights dinner. walked back to the truck realized we forgot our leftovers returned, and they said they already threw it out. I was like wow that was $140 dollars and the guy laughed and said well you shouldn't left it. Most restaurants don't usually through them out right away especially high end. And I tried calling right when we got to the truck.... It always said busy and hung up, called Half a dozen times while walking back, it never rang .So sad and disappointed
google avatar

Anne R.

Yelp
The steak salad was good and the mushroom was fried to perfection with a great dipping sauce!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Market Street is a solid lunch stop if you're okay with a pricier lunch. The sandwiches and burgers are really good. I usually choose a salad for a side, but their fries are good too. I don't love this place for dinner. My last steak was mediocre (reminded me of Outback....so yeah). My latest lunch choice was shrimp tacos. The spicy sauce was perfect but I'd rather have unbattered shrimp. My lunch before that was a chicken Parmesan sandwich, which was really good. My biggest drawback here is price. Lots of places around town with equal or better food at a better price. Market Street has a nice ambiance and very friendly service. I eat here occasionally and I like it but it's hard to give a really high recommendation.

Lori M.

Yelp
Loved every bite of every item ordered, even the leftovers were good. Fun, innovations on classic cocktails, too
google avatar

Janet M.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere- good food and reasonable prices what more can you ask for? First time here under this new ownership and it didn't disappoint service was amazing
google avatar

Yelp
GREAT PLACE TO CATCH COVID! Masks aren't enforced inside and only some of their employees wear masks. An old guy with a white beard is wiping down tables and mingling with patrons without a mask on. Customers are walking around mingling between tables without masks. Going inside without masks on. 10 minutes to get a beer, too. I'll be driving *through* Redding in the future.
google avatar

Ari G.

Yelp
great service. roberto is an awesome bar tender. the calamari is ... perfect in every way :) good vibe. i like the whiskey bar too.
google avatar

Honest E.

Yelp
We had the best service and our dinner was outstanding!!! We had "THE CHOP" Apple butter rubbed bone-in pork chop with roasted sage apples and herbed smashed potatoes and "CHICKEN ARTICHOKE & BRIE CROSTINIS" Garlic chicken, artichoke hearts, brie cheese, artichoke aioli, sourdough toast points. The bread pudding desert was the best ever!! Great place to take visiting guests.

Shannen M.

Yelp
Not enough stars to give. Everything was phenomenal, drink, apps, starters. French onion soup was the best I've ever had. Kimchee deviled eggs, burrata salad, grilled shrimp tacos, fettuccine w/ filet. Amazing. Best dinner & ambience in town. I can't wait to go back. Owner Scott & Tanya are the most gracious hosts.

Linda T.

Yelp
The food was good/ above average Service was reasonably good Ambiance was not there. Total disappointment from the last time we ate there. Before the sale of the business. Poor seating kind of dingy atmosphere. When new people entered the restaurant we got blown off our chairs at an individual table. Poor choice if seating. Requested to have one of two exit doors stay shut to avoid the breeze. The manager said no. Won't go back. Used to be great. Harold and Linda Tower. Redding

Yelp
Great food. Had the steak Julianne, French onion soup, and an old fashioned. A better meal does not exist.
google avatar

Ronda S.

Yelp
Friendly service and delightful food. Very accommodating to our needs, and the food was still good the day after since we'd become to full the night we dined.
google avatar

Pat H.

Yelp
Five of us had dinner here on Saturday night. There was a drunk guy, beer in hand, walking around to all the tables telling people he was chef but it was his night off. He came by our table TWICE! We couldn't get rid of him. It was rude and inappropriate. If this were my restaurant that guy would be fired immediately. Nothing more fun than spending $160 for dinner and having to put up with a sloppy drunk! Never again!!!
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Food was outstanding reached our table in the right amount of time. Atmosphere was great. The pork ribs where bigger then your standard apple bees or red lobster. Mac and cheese they have perfected and made it there own. The salad was was fresh and very tasty. The wait service was very attentive. For a night out witch doesn't happen very often for us we enjoyed the food convo and experience over all.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
My husband and I came here to celebrate Valentines Day a little early, and the food was outstanding! We shared the chicken, brie and artichoke crostini as an appetizer. It was to die for! The chicken was so tender it fell apart, and all the combined flavors were out of this world. Their well known French onion soup is well known for a reason. Lots of cheese and onions and was a good portion. For dinner I had the steak Diane. The juicy, perfectly cooked filet covered in flavorful mushrooms and fried leeks, on top of pasta in that delicious sauce! I couldn't stop saying "wow" the entire time I was eating it. The service was great as well. We didn't wait long, for anything really. Between the appetizer, dinner and getting our check, everything was perfectly timed. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
This is a classic steakhouse with a bit of a confusing atmosphere. The steak was good and the miso butter topper was the star of the evening. The salad and soup were also good appetizers and I definitely got full. None of the dishes are pushing the boundaries, but that's sometimes what you want in a steak house. However, what you don't want is raucous bar that is attached to the dining area. It's just weird to be eating a $60 steak while a bar fight (I'm not joking) takes place 20 feet away from you. If you want a good steak and are willing to pay for it, this is a good place. If you want a romantic evening out, I would probably recommend somewhere else.
google avatar

Javier R.

Yelp
New ownership and new name...but apparently they kept the same yelp page? Weird. Anyways, they are nothing like Market St. Steakhouse used to be - service is cold and staff just seems plain disinterested. Food is mediocre. Only reason for two stars is they make a good cocktail. Too bad ownership changed hands as this place used to be a gem. You're better off going elsewhere now after the change.
google avatar

Jena C.

Yelp
Nice experience, normal steakhouse menu, crème brûlée dessert was good. It is a little on the pricy side. I like that the management attempts to intrude a little Asian fusion into the menus.
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
Place is garbage , there was old chicken and utensils under the table . I ordered a sirloin rare, and it came out like a dry chuck roast that was 3 days old, the baked potato i got on the side was nasty tasted like they used a dish rag to steam it in the microwave . Over priced food for quality lesser that chucky cheese

Beth Miler M.

Yelp
Stunning and delicious cocktails and everything else that was served. The Saki Shooters were very fun and popular! I was part of a large party and we ordered almost everything on the menu. No issues... except WONDERFUL flavors and great restaurant vibe. Going back tomorrow with my hubby. New favorite restaurant! Wish I had pics to share... BTW, service was prompt and had great communication with the kitchen. Highly recommended.
