Great variety of international food.. Life Music Performance Friday-Saturdays.

A small food hall with good selection of cuisines, we ordered the German & Puerto Rico food, they were big portion and very flavorful. If you ran out of food options, come here and you will be happy you do.

The Markthalle is a vibrant indoor food market located just a short walk from the historic city center. It brings together a diverse selection of international cuisines under one roof, offering everything from fresh pasta and sushi to Indian curries and traditional German dishes and beer. The Markthalle has a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, communal seating, and affordable prices. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy a casual lunch or dinner while experiencing the multicultural spirit of Freiburg.

A relatively small markthalle, very overcrowded and very diverse food. I tried from Thailand sushi and green Thai curry. Sushi were freshly made. Absolutely delicious and the Thai curry was very good with crunchy vegetables.

Usually crowded and lively (but also noisy), there's multiple different stalls selling food from all over the world. I had African peanut stew and it was great. What I really liked is that you don't bring your dishes back to the stall you got them from but just drop them off at a collection point and the staff takes care of everything.

Not very big, but it offers different food options from different parts of the world. Also, you can buy fruits, sweets, fish and seafood. There is also a bar. An interesting place, where I would gladly return!

The review is for the Brazilian restaurant—sadly the food was good but portions felt a bit silly—6 pieces of shrimp carefully picked. I was hoping she’d dunk the ladle and pour up that yummy shrimp curry. Let us enjoy it more

This was such a great place for a huge selection of lunch options from all over the world -fresh Italian pasta and pastries, champagne bar, flammkuchen, indian, Thai, japanese, Brazilian, Afghani, Persian...and some I can't remember! On Friday evening they were open late for dinner (maybe this happens other days too) and had live music, so it was a great atmosphere. Great for groups as you can choose from something to suit all tastes and enjoy it together. It can get very busy at lunch time so arrive early, especially if you have a group.

I know the Markthalle only as the food court that it is during the day. As such, I find it middling at best. Some of the food is decent, for sure. I like the German stand best, I think, located all the way in. But for the most part, it is just average at best but overpriced. Even simple Chinese food (and still the bad German style you're used to) costs about EUR6 for chicken with rice. There is almost no seating available during the lunch rush, and it can even be hard to find a standing-place at the high tables. With all the people rushing about and the limited space, it can be quite uncomfortable and not exactly a nice break from work. I'd say altogether I'd give this place 2.5 stars if I could. Before the prices went up last year, at least it would be 3 because I would go every once in a while. But I find now it's not even good enough as just a different place to go for lunch... and hence 2 stars. Not horrible, but there's no need to visit here.

Finally found a great taco in Germany. Great carnitas. Fun environment with cuisine choices for the whole group. The pizza was delicious. Authentic Italian pizza sauce
