Lots of great selections of meats, cheeses and desserts and much more. This place is wonderful and a must check out! Right inside the city square and there is usually an open market outside with other items for sale of the weekends.

I’m always happy when I enter a market hall in Germany, even if it’s just to indulge my eyes.

Google
Lovely place - friendly sellers, great produce. Had a coffee and a cake walking around and looking at all the wonderful displays. Bought alot as weel! Lots of choice for all styles and budgets. There is no seating inside as it is a functioning market so be aware - we found a spot to sit outside and eat. Would return.

Google
What wonderful market place to do your food shopping. Plenty of delicatessen shops and in the upper floors you will also find kitchen and the most stylish home accessories. Definitely worth visiting.

Google
A proper indoor market for a proper city. These days, any great city needs a big public market. Lots of variety from fresh produce to flowers to baked goods to butchers. On the second floor around the perimeter are upscale home goods shops and clothing boutiques. Really lovely to walk around on a rainy weekend day. Oh and also some small restaurants around the edges. It’s all here!

It is so amazing to find this heritage and fantastic attraction in Stuttgart. Same as the market in Frankfurt, there are also 2 floors here. The first floor is a dry and wet food section while the second floor contains a restaurant and a large household product shop. You can find Italian, Spanish, Asian, local food as well as herbs here. The true local and authentic atmosphere is very attractive. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Opened in 1914, the Art Nouveau structure is full of food and vegetables and meats and cheeses and spices and flowers and silverware. It's almost overwhelming to find this much variety in a single space. The smell of fresh baked bread, glass counters in front of salads and freshly made sandwiches, pastries, there is a lot to see here. If this is your first time, I suggest climbing the stairs and looking down from above. It will give you a better perspective of the layout so that you can explore properly. I was already stuffed from the wine and sausage from the Weihnachtsmarkt so no purchases today. But lots of browsing. I'll need to come back to here. Surely there's a food tour that can help? Yelp
One of the best markethalls. The main floor with all the food has a ton of options and all the food looked so good. The upstairs has a ton of high end stores. There are also a few restaurant options.

Yelp
This is a great food hall in a centrally located part of the city. There are numerous food stands and you can find all kinds of items here. I ended up buying some Italian nougat candy from one of the dessert stands. It tastes very authentic and the man who helped me was very nice.

Yelp
If you visit Stuttgart, you must visit this market! Everything you could ever need and then some. Went multiple times in a short stay and wish there were more like this in the states. Love from Texas!

Yelp
Nice place for buying very nice food products. Great produce both fresh and dry. All kinds of deli type foods. Just all around a great place to shop for high end food.

Yelp
Awesome place!!!! I was amazed by the variety of vendors and their selection! You can pretty much find food from all over Europe at the market. I would highly recommend to visit the Markthalle during your stay in Stuttgart and am sure you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Love this place! Lots of shopping and the downstairs marketplace was so nice with all goods on display. Worth a walk through for a bite to eat or pick up and go.

Yelp
Love this market. It reminds me of San Fran Embarcadero market or pike market in Seattle. They sell all kinds of fresh food. From cheeses, meat, sausages, salamis, pork, steaks , lamb, vegetables, fruits, cakes, olives, liquorish candy, fresh fruit teas, nuts and dried fruits. They even have a several butchers inside, an oyster bar which also sells fresh fish, smoked fish and other seafood. They also have a fresh bakery inside but late during the day, the breads are all almost gone. It s simply located outside breuninger which is convenient after shopping. They also have wine shop and olive oil shop. Love the smell inside. Prices varied but it's worth as they're all fresh. Will definitely come back here again during our visit. A must stop when you're shopping in the heart of Stuttgart. Trust!!

Yelp
Really cool place in the middle of Stuttgart. We enjoyed walking around, grabbing a coffee, and just generally enjoying the marketplace atmosphere.

Yelp
I love food markets. Have to go to them every time i visit a new (and old) city. This one is no exception. I've been here many times and still enjoy it every time again. There are all kinds of great shops. Whatever the plan for dinner is, here you can find the ingredients. It's a bit prices but the quality and service is what makes it worth it. Even if I'm not looking to buy anything I still love going here, getting a snack and checking out new stuff. See for yourself!

Yelp
The Stuttgarter Markthalle is located inside of a building surrounded by the wonderful Merz & Benzing store. There are a variety of small businesses that sell wine, chocolates, cheese, pasta, meats, fresh produce, coffee, tea, bread, pastries, herbs and spices, and other speciality food and gourmet items that are locally produced and from around the world. The market was originally built between 1911-1914 and has been renovated and restored several times. This is a wonderful place simply to stroll; to grab a quick lunch; or to buy a special ingredient for cooking at home. Also, there are several restaurants located at the market. www.markthalle-stuttgart.de www.merz-benzing.de

Yelp
Before I say anything about the general stuff, dude, there's a guy in here selling white truffles and black truffles. They smelled awesome. Not knowing the source, I declined the purchase but if I knew they were high quality and at the right price I would have bought a nugget...onward... I was looking for anything uniquely German, it can be fount but I seemed to have fount more uniquely Asian items here, particularly spices and fruits/vegetables. It's just a market! But I fount it to be not your everyday market. Germany made chocolates which were pretty good tasting but not the best I had, the eye-candy looks of the chocolate and display were better than the taste...from a brand called Hochland Kaffee. Saw some vegetables I have never seen before. Saw the aged beef section which made me want a cut and cook it up, too bad my hotel had no stove in the room. Saw everything from your basics of cheese and fish. Saw stuff in cans and bottle not in English I had no idea what they were and no it wasn't in German either, though some were in German only also. It's an indoor market worth checking out. I'm sure one could find familiar stuff and stuff that one isn't acquainted with that will make your face shift to weird a position. Big place.

Yelp
Really fun place. Lots of antipasti, lots of sweets and spices, lots of exotic fruits. Upstairs is a homegoods store, downstairs is where it's at. Bathroom entrance is .5 euro.

Claudia F.

Yelp
Great freshness of the food, but prices are high. Best green grocers in the Stuttgart.

Yelp
I miss this fabulous market so much! Tons of great produce and specialty foods. There are also a couple decent eateries inside, as well as some very cute little shops. A fun place to stop while downtown.

Yelp
Angebotene Waren sind gut. Qualitativ hochpreisig. Super Mischung. Manche Staende jedoch ueberlastet. Bissle ueberkantitelt.

Yelp
Really cool place to walk around and see all the stuff for sale. When you can't find a particular fruit, vegetable, spice, or even fish or meat, you'll find it here. However, all of the fresh food for sale comes at a hefty price.

Astrid A.

Yelp
Nice place to wonder around while shopping for fresh food and some exotic one as well.

Wilhelm R.

Yelp
If you look for that special food this is your place. I specifically like to shop at "Schwäbisch Hällisch Erzeugergemeinschaft" for dry aged beef and great pork. But you can get anything you like.

Yelp
Markthalle is located very near the city center and it's indeed a treat to go see. It's a market, as the name implies, but it offers more than fresh fruit or veggies. On the first floor, you can find ingredients and cuisines from various countries, including Indian, Italian, Hungarian and even Chinese. It's a mix of great brands, produce and people and you are bound to find whatever you are looking for. The second floor offers home goods, clothes, fabric and even cosmetics. Beware, however, the price. Since it's located in an old building (it's actually one of the oldest buildings in Stuttgart) and very nicely displayed, plus the quality is almost always very promising, the prices tend to be bit higher than your average supermarket. I usually go for some things that I can't buy from normal places, like Italian sausages. A bit higher in price, but great quality. It's also just pleasant to walk around the look what's what. Lovely market!
