Stopped here for breakfast after reading great reviews. The service was okay - waited a little for order to be taken but it was busy at the time. Food was okay and on par with standard cafes. The home brew was good and would recommend. The prices were high in comparison with places with similar food offerings.

Having searched around for a good coffee shop we are convinced this may be the best one in Sheffield! Sitting on the bench by the counter we witnessed a steady stream of customers desperate for a table and we watched all the delicious plates of food going by. We have been for a quick coffee twice and we have booked a table to go back and sample the food 🙂

Picked up a flat white and mince pie to takeaway, both were really nice. First time I've called in but on my list to return.

I recently visited Marmadukes Café with my partner, and it was an absolute delight. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and porridge, and both dishes were incredibly delicious. The Eggs Benedict had perfectly poached eggs with a creamy hollandaise sauce, and the porridge was rich, comforting, and full of flavour. The presentation of the food was beautiful—very clean and aesthetic, adding to the overall experience. The café itself has a cosy and relaxing atmosphere with stylish decor that makes you feel instantly at home. Whether you're looking for a casual breakfast or a quiet spot to unwind, Marmadukes is definitely worth a visit! We'll certainly be returning soon.

Lovely place with a great atmosphere, staff were lovely and very attentive and food and drink were great! Also a fab location next to the church, very pretty view.

Had such a good time at Marmadukes! We were visiting the centre with friends (and a dog), and we stumbled upon Marmadukes. We didn't make a booking, but the staff were able to get us a table for 7 and the dog. The staff were very attentive and friendly! Would definitely recommend getting a few of the pastries and sharing them around. They are absolutely delicious! You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the time that goes into every bake. The coffe was really good too. Very smooth, and rich!! Definitely a must stop for coffee if you're in the centre!

Extremely tasty food delightful service and good atmosphere. Great range of dietary options and food sourced from local sustainable growers. Only complaint is tables are quite small but we had enough space.

If you're looking to get completely and utterly addicted to a cafe, look no further. Weak coffee? Go elsewhere. Unique and seasonal flavours? Stay put. Marmadukes is hipster-galore but chic and friendly with both individual and communal seating depending on how busy they are. Their coffee cake and seasonal granola trumped their rhubarb french toast by being absolutely sensational, with the maple bacon being the perfect salty accompaniment.

Yelp
Coffee was acidic and the oat milk isn't of great quality, but the staff was friendly.

Yelp
We came up for a short hiking weekend and wanted to try some local places. This was such a lovely place to go for breakfast. The mochas were delicious as was the food. We had the Scotch pancakes with blueberries and also the Eggs Benedict Royale (with salmon). Highly recommend if you're in town!

Yelp
I love this little cafe! Thanks to another yelper's suggestion, I came here with my friend a few months ago for a catch up. Their menu was simple, yet filled with hearty items - perfect for people looking to catch up on life. Anything from their breakfast menu and their cakes get's a seal of approval from me. I only wish I had a bigger stomach (and a bigger wallet!). On top of it all, I love the decor - it feels like your grandmother's country house kitchen. It's a local favourite, so expect some queuing and probably no seating. They will try their best to get you a seat as the staff there are extremely helpful and friendly. If I was in Sheffield again, I would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
It's so nice to see little independent restaurants like this pop up in Sheffield. This place is stylishly decorated throughout, with a nice sounding menu. Unfortunately, we got there too late to eat anything substantial as they'd stopped serving hot food. What I did have though, is an AMAZING slice of custard tart and a posh Dandelion & Burdock I really can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
This is mainly toward the staff working here. Very antipathic people rushed out and not will even yell at you if you are trying to close the door wide open in winter to prevent your freaking freezing baby from getting sick. Food was fine. Nothing special

Yelp
It's nice to see an independent cafe so busy. If your after over priced hipster food then this is the place for you. Disappointing that a local business doesn't promote local produce more, the Earl Grey tea is delightful. Dies it come from a local Yorkshire company? Nope comes from London as do most of the soft drinks. What about a choice of hand made local bread for my sandwich? Nope you get Rye bread toasted to crunchy gum shredding levels. But hey the university lots love it.

Yelp
Quaint and quirky, serving great coffee and interesting food. A little pricey, but worth it considering it's a true local, independent business. Can get busy, but if you're going to be a group of 6 or larger you can reserve the 'sharing table' in advance.
