Marmolada

Winter in the Summer Came here some time in June when it was almost summer. Temperature was about 26-27C on the ground. But it was close to zero C at the peak. Was kinda cool to feel the change happening within a half hour. The trip up is by a 3 stage cable car service taking us to intermediate points where we switch to the next stage. At the 2nd switch point there is a nice cafe with a wonderful view of the area. I recommend at least to have coffee or a meal here. There are souvenir shops on the level as well. At each change point, one can take pictures of the surrounding area. The view from the top is breath taking and beautiful. Clouds do sometimes block the view and all we have to do is wait for it to move away. Definitely something for your itinerary.

This year 1st day of opening wasn't too good. A lot of people, more waiting than any other year. Also connection to get back to Sella Ronda was not prepared as it should be. Preparation was inadequate and it wouldn't take much effort(see picture), minus for organisation. Instead of skiing we had to wait an hour+ on cable to get down. Also employees were not organised, it was sad and disappointing. 6seater cable managing to take only 2 or 3 people, people were almost fighting, skis off, no order, no rules or organisation, very disappointed.

The Marmolada area, which extends over more than 2,200 square kilometers, is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to its unique landscapes. Highly recommend The trip is recommended for a few good hours, starting at 9 am

Awesome views! Dolomites are amazing scenery, never disappoint. From the highest reachable point in the range (without rock climbing), you can see more that you can take in! The 360-degree observation deck is spectacular! The cable car ride up is interesting and intriguing. Great stop if anywhere near the area. The café/bar has good food (service was really slow when our group stopped in) at the 2nd stop, also the bathrooms, museum, and access to some trails with WWI tunnels. Top has the 360 deck where you are right there with Punta Rocca, plus the glacier and all the glory of the Dolomites spreading out all around you.

Absolutely stunning. Make sure you have enough points on your ticket for going back down. At the top it’s just a viewpoint and a ski area. It’s very basic. The middle area has food and gifts. The food is also basic. It has more of a diner feel. Still leave enough time to go slow and enjoy the view.

I did the West ridge via ferrata. It was beautiful but cloudy. It's not a particularly challenging ferrata but there is a bit of snow below the forcella della Marmolada and on the ridge. I highly recommend the strudel in Punta penia hut. Keep in mind that it can get quite crowded.

I have really enjoyed. Beautiful views around, from view terrace. About clouds, and few degrees less as down. Absolutely worth it 👌

Fantastic view ! Came from the 🇺🇸, Michigan, to ski in Italy 🇮🇹. Beautiful scenery. Snow ❄️ conditions when we went were not the best . So some days were icy 🥶. And we also went during Christmas/new Years. A few days the lines were massive!
