Where to Eat, Drink, and Stay in Marrakech Right Now

"A collection of riads housed in century‑old Moroccan houses owned by an international hospitality group; the properties are centrally located, offer spacious, beautifully tiled rooms with local fixtures, and combine professional service with a warm, personal touch, while on‑site dining is highly regarded." - Brian Freedman

I cannot overstate how brilliant this place is. Every member of staff is so lovely and kind. Every thoughtful touch to make our holiday as special as it could be happened without us asking. From Mint tea on arrival, a choice of perfumes for our room, to an unexpected birthday cake for breakfast. We were blessed with a free upgrade to a suite. The beds are so comfortable that even I slept well with my arthritis. The air con works well with the shutters to keep your room cool. The food is great and they really do the most amazing three course breakfast. The pool is lovely and cool, and they will organise trips if you ask. They found us a brilliant Spain our first day.

We arrived later than expected due to a flight redirection, but were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The front-of-house staff greeted us with traditional pastries and mint tea, which was a lovely touch. We were even invited to choose a fragrance for our room—a unique and thoughtful detail. During this time, our luggage was taken directly to our riad.||When we arrived at the riad, we were immediately impressed by its traditional décor, spotless cleanliness, and beautiful design. The room was immaculate and stocked with lovely local soaps and other thoughtful touches.||The hospitality throughout our stay was outstanding. Every member of staff was welcoming and helpful, especially our breakfast server, who truly stood out. Breakfast was a traditional Moroccan spread—plentiful, delicious, and beautifully presented.||The riad’s location is ideal. It’s just a short walk through the souks, full of charming items for sale, to reach the medina. Yet it's far enough removed to offer peace and quiet, allowing for restful sleep and tranquil mornings.||We also had the pleasure of enjoying a relaxing massage at the spa, which was a highlight of our stay.||To summarize, this traditional-style riad was the perfect place to stay. Fantastic location, exceptional hospitality, delicious food—everything you could want for a memorable visit to Marrakech. We would recommend it 1000%!

We had the absolute best time at the Ansagna Riad! From the moment we booked, the service was exceptional. We arranged a private airport transfer through the riad in advance, and despite a flight delay and a late check-in, everything went smoothly and seamlessly.||The staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and always ready with great advice and local recommendations. One especially thoughtful touch was receiving a mobile phone with data upon check-in—such a helpful perk for navigating the area!||The riad itself is actually a collection of various stunning riads, all beautifully decorated and accessible to Ansagna guests. Each space had its own unique charm and tranquil atmosphere.||The hotel arranged a day trip to the Atlas Mountains and a visit to a local Berber village they actively support—an enriching, authentic experience we’ll never forget.||They even surprised us with a birthday cake, which was such a sweet and personal gesture. Breakfast each morning was delicious, featuring fresh juice, fruit, and a lovely variety of local treats.||Ansagna Riad truly exceeded our expectations in every way. We can’t wait to return!

Oh my, where do we start!|The staff are impeccable!!! We came back from a tour on the day of check-in. We were going to walk 25mins from our drop off location, but Soufian had called and arranged transport for us already (included in the price of the Riad). We were taken in the car straight to the Riad and we were greeted and checked in by the lovely Mustafa. |All guests are given a cellphone that you can hotspot off of, google and text/whatsapp the staff anytime if you have issues. |The room was so beautiful! The shower blew my mind. |We hugely recommend having a tajine at the Riad, it was so delicious and the staff (Soufian and Mustafa) made the night trying to teach us Berber and Arabic. I could eat the tajine we had there every single day of my life. As well as the delicious breakfast! YUM!|We had a late flight on check-out day and they didn’t have anyone checking in until midnight, so they allowed us to have the room until we had to leave (4:30pm) without any extra charge; as well as being picked up by transport to the airport again (included in the Riad price). |They also went through so much of the history about the Riad… it was so fascinating! |The Riad is slightly out from the main square (Jemaa El-Fnaa), maybe 15-20mins walk, but walking through the maze of little roads and past all the shops, is so much fun.|Plus, it is very close to major tourist spots: |- Le Jardin Secret Gardens|- Madrasa Ben Youssef|This is a very long review, but there is absolutely nothing to criticise, everything is amazing, beautiful, special, and even made friends with the staff.

We stayed at the Riad Bab Firdaus part of the Angsana Heritage Collection. This was a two minute walk from the reception down the Rue De La Bahia. We took a private taxi from the airport to the hotel which can only drop you off 200m down a small lane from the reception so my advice would be to have a contact number from the hotel so you could call them and they can meet you. (Make sure you have the address of the hotel when you get a taxi because most of the taxi drivers don't know it) The hotel isn't that easy to see until you are on top of it.|We were greeted like royalty, served Moroccan tea and cakes and we were given a hand made bracelet. After signing in we were also given an android mobile phone with access for free to Google, Maps and very helpful information regarding restaurants and contact numbers for the hotel. You can just use this at any time through out your stay. |The rooms were very Moroccan and very clean. Breakfast was served to you with moroccan cakes and bread. Eggs tea coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice was also served.|The Location was prefect. Two minute walk and you are in the heart on the moroccan culture which is quite an eye opener if you haven't been before. Watch out for the scooters bobbing in and out of the pedestrians. 7 minutes to the Medina Market.||We have had a lovely city break.|Thank you

We loved our stay in Riad Tiwaline! The room was so comfortable, and kept so clean and tidy by the lovely housekeeping team, it was the perfect base for us- somewhere to really relax after a busy day out! The roof terrace really made it for us too. |Every member of staff we came across while staying here was nothing less than friendly and accommodating. We have never stayed somewhere before where we have felt truly welcomed and at home. Everyone was just so friendly and enthusiastic- from front desk staff to those in the restaurant, we did not meet one rude or unwelcoming person! We loved experiencing their enthusiasm over dishes in the restaurant or day trip opportunities. |Speaking of which, the food was amazing, not one meal disappointed, the service was fabulous, and we left every meal feeling incredibly satisfied! |We were made to feel very safe here too, in a country we know not much about it was a really nice touch to be able to reliably book taxis through the front desk and be walked out to our taxi, and also to have access to a phone with which we could use maps or contact staff. ||Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would return!

We stayed 7 nights at the Riad Blanc in a Studio room across the lane from the Riad Si Said where the Lobby and restaurant are shared with the Riad Blanc. Riad Blanc is not as architecturally stunning as Riad Si Said but is nevertheless very comfortable and a nice cool retreat from the busy Medina. The staff are wonderful, helping you whenever they can. Breakfast is amazing consisting of oats or semolina , fresh fruit, pancakes, cakes and eggs however you want them, with copious quantities of orange juice and Tea of your choice to set you up for the day. Speaking with other holidaymakers it seems our breakfast was by far the best. We had dinner here twice enjoying wonderful food along with a local "Casablanca" beer and glass of Moroccan wine. All in a lovely stay and thanks to the wonderful staff.

From the moment we arrived we received such a warm friendly welcome. We enjoyed the whole experience. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spacious, immaculate with great air conditioning. Room service was excellent so much effort was given to everything they did. Every member of staff we encountered was amazing.
