Where do I begin. After a 27-hour drive in three days from Portland, OR with a 15' UHaul truck full of my life, we arrived in El Paso, but it took about an hour and a half before we found the only available room fairly near my mother's home. All the places we tired were booked solid with soldiers (Thank you for your service!!) so we had a heck of a time finding a room and were exhausted and hungry. This hotel claimed to have one room left (yeah, right) and charged us $229 for a piece of crap. Mind you, we'd stayed the night before in Thousand Palms, CA at the most beautiful Best Western I've ever seen. It had absolutely everything you could need in a room and was beautifully furnished. Then this Marriott happened. What a piece of crap! First, the outer door of the entrance nearest our room didn't even fully close properly so that was a potential security issue. Second, when we opened the door we got smacked in the face by a strong musty, moldy kind of odor. It was gross. The carpet was frayed and looked straight out of the '70s. There was no microwave, no refrigerator, barely enough towels, dust a half an inch thick on some of the furniture and just a HUGE disappointment. We could not believe the extremely poor quality of a room in a well-established hotel that is supposed to be rather nice. When I phoned the front desk to complain, they did offer to put us in another room but we were already unpacked and dead tired so we declined. I will NEVER, EVER stay in this hotel or EVER recommend it to anyone. I've attached a couple of pictures, including one of an ironing board whose cover had a suspicious oily looking stain on it so we didn't touch it. Horrible, just horrible.
