Yelp
Thanksgiving Buffett extremely disappointing. Marriott at Griffin Gate in Lexington used to be a high quality venue for events and dining experiences. Not sure what happened to the place. My family was really looking forward to enjoying their $60++pp Thanksgiving buffet, with an outstanding advertised menu. Overall, everything was very mediocre, maybe a slightly better Golden Coral, cheap mass produced food suitable for a high end shelter Thanksgiving meal. The setting was plain if not quite ugly, in the exhibit hall, limited decor, very plain if not entirely sterile. Why not the restaurant dining room? Most of the food in serving trays was warm, some cold, none really hot. Gravy was out of a big tub I think. Turkey was not real carved turkey, something else, no dark meat. Desserts were cheap grocery store quality, no whipped cream for pumpkin pie really? Should have been priced at maybe $30-$35, it was that average. Service and servers were all quite friendly and attentive, but they had a lot to compensate for with the very average food preparation. Very overpriced and underwhelming experience. Stay away next year and get actual home cooking at home or some good Lexington local establishment.
