I recently stayed 7/21-7/25. I was very excited looking at the pictures and to stay at a “resort” for work. I was very disappointed. The exterior is worn and not appealing. My room was hot and humid. The building engineer visited my room twice but I was told the room would not get colder and they offered me a fan. Needless to say I did not sleep well all week and I was uncomfortable. The bathroom was tight quarters but the bathtub was filthy with a ring around the tub and black spots at the bottom of the tub. No clocks and no microwave in the room. I had 2 bad experiences at the Bluegrass restaurant. My first night I ate at the bar. The drip mat was near me. One of the waiters was waiting for drink orders and decided to tap on the drip/splash mat. The water from the mat splashed on me and my food. The lady took my food off my bill but honestly the waiter should have been talked to about how inspire was to do that. It was gross. I still had to pay for my appetizer and drink. The next experience was with room service. I ordered breakfast and there was hair in my food. I was compensated for that. But I am disappointed with the restaurant service. I expected more. Overall I am disappointed with my entire hotel stay. We had catering services and it was nice. The servers were pleasant. The AV team was great. The front desk receptionist were overworked often just being one person at the front desk making it difficult to service guest timely. Not happy.

I recently stayed at the Lexington Griffin Gate Marriott for three nights during a business trip and had a very positive experience. The hotel is elegant and welcoming, featuring a beautiful entrance area with spaces dedicated to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are also several cozy areas perfect for reading or having a quiet conversation. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean, equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was well soundproofed, which made for a restful stay. The only area that could use some improvement is the bathroom, which felt a bit dated compared to the rest of the room. Although I didn’t have the chance to use them, the hotel offers both indoor and outdoor pools that looked very inviting. The staff was consistently kind, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a great hotel for business travelers — I would definitely return.

Google
Unimpressed with the service of a location that charges a $22/ day resort fee. Won't be back. Wrote out my whole review after much thought and realized it was too long to post. To summarize, our air conditioner did not cool the room even after the very nice man worked on it. The entire room lost power for a little bit the morning we checked out, while my husband was in the shower. The front desk staff is not overly friendly by a long shot. They never smiled or made conversation. Neither did the outdoor bartender nor the spa concierge. The only nice people we encountered on our trip at this hotel was the wait staff at the Bluegrass Bistro. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful. Room was mostly clean except for sticky floors, and there was no conditioner in the shower, which I didn't realize until I was in the shower. Definitely do not feel that this experience was worth the price.

This place is an absolute hidden gem, Emily Daya and everyone else we encountered at the front desk went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel valued as guest, it is very much appreciated. Christine done the same thing in helping us enjoy our time at the pool. the valet and bellman were outstanding should have got their names, but were always professional and on top of everything. on site food options were excellent. place is clean well maintained and has a ton of stuff to do. even went through a 15 hour blackout that was beyond the resorts control. that was handled extremely well as all rooms were comped that night. was our 4th trip in the last calendar year, hope to at a minimum come back a couple times this summer for long weekends, thanks to all the staff

Google
Very nice hotel. Would have given 5 stars but front desk refuses to answer phone, if you need anything (like extra towels), you have to go downstairs in person. Valet staff very friendly and helpful, brought our luggage to and from room. Restaurant staff also very friendly, breakfast both days was good. Grounds were immaculate! Room nice but housekeeping could have paid better attention to details. Also if sheets have an obvious coffee stain after 1 night of a multiple night stay they should be automatically changed...duh. Bed very comfortable. All in all great property and good value for money. Spa is FABULOUS!

Google
Room was extremely clean, grounds was beautiful! I dropped my key fob down the elevator and it dropped to the bottom the day I was leaving but Thankfully I had my other one. Gentlemen named Mike came and spoke with me and was extremely professional and polite. I told him I had my other fob and was in no hurry. He was on it though. Had my Key Fob out the next day and he along with Sam made sure that I received it. I am thankful for both of them. The rooms with balcony views are AMAZING!

I’ve now stayed here several times and overall my experience is pretty good. The amenities are incredible and the staff is super friendly. Their conference rooms are spacious, but the temperatures are frigid. Also, lots of people in our group were experiencing issues with the AC in their rooms, not working, myself included for whatever reason the room would never cool down, which is unfortunate on a really hot week. The golf course and pool are the best parts of this place by far.

Google
I recently stayed here for an entire week while attending a safe and vault conference, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The customer service was absolutely exceptional—every single staff member was kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the on-site restaurant served food that was well above average. I truly appreciated the warm hospitality and smooth experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be back in the future. Thanks again!

Yelp
I stayed here about 6 months ago and it's an interesting experience. It's kind of out of the city and definitely catered towards the golfing crowd as well as the good old Lexington horse crowd. You could tell it was an older facility but there have been updates made so it didn't feel completely out of date. The hotel room was updated and pretty nice! Maybe a little bit tight for two queen beds but still presented with a good view and offering all of the modern amenities. Didn't really do much else at the facility but walked around the grounds a bit. This hotel might be more fun to stay at if you are here for an event because unless you're golfing, there's only not much else around to keep you there for the price point. Parking lot was pretty big and a little hard to get luggage to the entrance considering just how massive it was. Friendly staff as well.

Yelp
As an event space: The location on the edge of town near Coldstone and the intersection of various highways is handy. The main atrium offers some nice sights. Restrooms were oddly cramped, and the small conference room I was in was filled with a larger than expected volume of guests (couple dozen) and their projector struggled a little bit to respond to its own remote. I didn't peruse the golf course or the spa; the hotel was fairly busy even during the off-season.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at the Lexington Griffin Gate Resort from May 18th through May 21st. It was incredibly busy since there was both a golf outing and a Pediatric Cancer Conference. My Mom and I met up with my sister for a girl's weekend. We shared a room with 2 Queen side beds. We had a nice view of the front of the building out to the paring lot. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The restaurant downstairs was incredible. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. We decided to eat most of our meals on the property. For breakfast we had the pleasure of meeting Mindy. She was the ray of sunshine that blessed the beginning of our day. She was so positive and suggested that we enjoy the breakfast buffet. We had a nice variety of fruit, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, and a hash brown casserole. It was a nice variety. The breakfast was included with the room. For lunch I had the beef vegetable soup, it was delicious. My Mom had the Avocado Toast topped with caramelized onions, the flavors went so well together. We had the desserts after dinner: Butter cake with rum sauce, Panicotta with coconut and mango caviar. I wish that the spa services weren't so expensive I would have booked an appointment for the 3 of us to relax. If the weather cooperates then we might have to relax at the outdoor pool. I can't wait until the next time the 3 of us will meet up again at Griffin Gate.

Yelp
Where do I start? Cockroaches and mosquitos in the room, no AC in the restaurant, no compensation, inedible/microwaved food, and no response from management! We stayed in 2 different rooms for 2 nights. We were so excited to stay there for convenience and will NEVER stay there again. I can't express how disappointing and disgusting this hotel was. Unbelievable.

Yelp
This hotel was dirty! The service was terrible especially the management. One of the children got burnt on hot grease that was not properly drained on her meal. The situation was handled so poorly. They sent a member of security (Mikey) to our table to take an incident report. He was rude, condescending and refused to give the parents of the child any information. Then the head of security basically accused the father of lying and the GM would not even talk with the parents. Pool was unsafe, cabanas closed at 6:00. We saw a child fall when grabbing onto the handle to get out of the pool because it came out of the ground. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Yelp
We stayed there July 1. The next morning i took a shower. Once all soaped up, the water stopped! It was stopped for over a half an hour. When we checked out, I complained. I was told the manager would call that dat. She didn't. I called once we got home and was told the manager was on another line and would call me soon. She never called I called Marriott Corporate. The guy on the line apologized and said he would issue a refund for the room. I never got it. I called back and was told they were looking into it and offered me Marriott Points. I don't want point, I want the refund I was promised Do not stay there. Management doesn't care

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The hotel itself is fine but the service is terrible. Requested towels be brought to the room last night.. never came. Had to call down at 5:30 this morning since we're leaving early and the front desk person sounded annoyed that I was calling for towels. We'll see how long these towels take now if they ever come. If their service was better they would probably have better reviews. Do better Marriott.

Yelp
I regret to say that my second stay at Lexington Griffin Gate Marriott Golf Resort & Spa was disappointing. The dirty floors left the bottom of my feet black, and the shower had leftover hair, indicating a lapse in cleaning standards. The room displayed shoddy maintenance repair work. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I won't be returning for a third stay.

Yelp
Horrible and dirty hotel. Checked in today 16May2024, got in side my room and noticed that there was POOP on the stool. Totally disgusting and unacceptable. Asked to speak with the general manager and they gave me the front desk manager Toni. Toni was nonchalant and offered to wave the $45 resort fee for my inconvenience. I requested points that would cover one night stay since l'm on a business trip and 15k was offered.

Yelp
Thanksgiving Buffett extremely disappointing. Marriott at Griffin Gate in Lexington used to be a high quality venue for events and dining experiences. Not sure what happened to the place. My family was really looking forward to enjoying their $60++pp Thanksgiving buffet, with an outstanding advertised menu. Overall, everything was very mediocre, maybe a slightly better Golden Coral, cheap mass produced food suitable for a high end shelter Thanksgiving meal. The setting was plain if not quite ugly, in the exhibit hall, limited decor, very plain if not entirely sterile. Why not the restaurant dining room? Most of the food in serving trays was warm, some cold, none really hot. Gravy was out of a big tub I think. Turkey was not real carved turkey, something else, no dark meat. Desserts were cheap grocery store quality, no whipped cream for pumpkin pie really? Should have been priced at maybe $30-$35, it was that average. Service and servers were all quite friendly and attentive, but they had a lot to compensate for with the very average food preparation. Very overpriced and underwhelming experience. Stay away next year and get actual home cooking at home or some good Lexington local establishment.

Yelp
I stayed here recently for a work conference and although I really liked the hotel, there are a few things that were a bit disappointing. I don't know if the air conditioner wasn't working great (it was super hot the days that I was there), but the ballrooms where our sessions were held were hot and stuffy. My bedroom was cool and comfortable--no complaints there, but the conference rooms were miserable. The hotel bar closed pretty early--10 pm. It just seemed odd to me that a hotel that's a resort has an early close for the bar. The staff was great--just wish that the bar stayed open later. There is a spa there but the prices were so expensive, going there for a treatment just wasn't a viable option. I wish it had been more affordable, especially for the Lexington area. Overall, I liked Griffin Gate--my room was clean and comfortable--it just wouldn't necessarily be my first choice for a place to stay. I have stayed across the street at Embassy Suites and at the Hilton downtown for work and I liked those places better.

Yelp
Nice hotel, needs a little work, but the room was nice and the staff is great. I'm a big fan of Marriott. They are always taking care of their customers. BTW I had a great view

Yelp
Not like it used to be; once a grand southern resort....now not so much. Goodbye Temper-pedicure bed-hello ordinary. Goodbye concierge-hello $20/night resort fee (look like we get a few fire pits). If you a family traveling probably okay, single or couple look elsewhere. Just cozier before. FYI- be first in the morning for her shower or early in evening-if not no hot water for you and nothing they can do about. Capacity isssue.

Yelp
Nothing special about this place at all. The 2.5 star average review currently on yelp seems very fitting. Not a great location, far from everything other than the highway. They block the cell phone signal in their meetings rooms. The meeting rooms are all on the 1st floor near the lobby but as soon as you walk in you get 0 bars and they don't even want to give you the meeting room wifi password. That was very strange and difficult for everyone in the room to conduct business. The lobby bar is dark and in strong need of updating. The one plus is that they give you free bottles of water, as many as you would like.

Yelp
We booked thinking this was an awesome place, we arrived and it was awful it did not smell well at all. We left went to a better place we could not get our money back and it was a waste of$250.00 for a place that was very dirty and was not a 4 star hotel.

Olivia L.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great staff. Would stay again for sure. It's definitely a nicer hotel but the ambiance would be perfect for a get away.

Yelp
We were at an event nearby at Fasig Tipton and decided to stop at the Griffin Hate for a drink. The bar was very busy, but very quiet. We had a Prosecco and conversation. Lighting is very low, which I like. Was a good idea. 59

Yelp
This place has lost its luster. Have stayed here many times over the years for both professional and personal travel. It's now poorly managed. My first room had no air conditioning. It was late and not too warm, was told there was no ac in the entire hotel. Ok. Next day it was 80 in my room and freezing in the hallway. I asked for a new room to which I was told it would be no better. It was. The ac worked there.

Patricia H.

Yelp
I rarely leave a review on a business, but I felt compelled to leave one on my recent stay. The hotel in itself is clean, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel is nice. I stayed 2 nights for a conference and was pleased with the room except the air would not work. When maintenance came , they said that they had not turned on their "chillers" yet, and I would just have to open a window. I made due, but the room remained hot both nights. When I checked out, I was charged a $50.00 amenities fee. The only thing I used on the list of amenities was the wifi for the conference. I feel like I should not have to pay a $50.00 fee for things I did not use, especially since I could not use the air to cool my room down. Again, it is a nice place, but the fee is ridiculous, and the air should work.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
I just attended a function at the Marriott and it was awful. The food was mediocre at best. I requested a vegetarian entree but received a beef. I am not a strict vegetarian and would have eaten the beef had it not been a piece of shoe leather. The room was insufferably hot. The wine on the table had a crumbled cork. The dessert was cheesecake with zero flavor. The appetizers were served through the crowd. The hot brown bites were actually good but the spring rolls were like biting into a head of garlic. We were to have had complimentary valet service yet were told to park our own car. This was definitely not what I expected from Marriott.

Paul W.

Yelp
Was an awesome stay, rooms was very clean and Juana from room service did an excellent job keeping fresh towels stocked up for us, bed made, etc. But the all star of my stay was Abbey at the restaurant bar. She recommended the burger which was large and awesome along with beverages, she was very attentive, detail oriented, knowledgeable and friendly. I wish everyone that worked at the Marriott were like this and very well informed. The free bourbon tastings from 4-6 was a cool thing I have never experienced before.

Clarkie C.

Yelp
Very very large hotel. Which is something I don't always care for because we always seem to get the furthest room from any elevators or anything else. But everything was clean, very stylish and efficient no dresser. Two big drawers and some hangers to hang stuff it worked. looks like they took the microwave out and put the coffee pot under the desk in the bedroom. So I just moved it to the bathroom Loved the indoor pool and hot tub. I had it all to myself but for a couple of kids that were luckily not rambunctious.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Between cleanliness and maintenance issues in my room and with the property, slow wait staff, and cold and crappy tasting food. The straw that hastened our departure after only one night of a four night stay was when it rained and leaked in our "newly renovated" room. Seriously, there are serious system quality and service gaps - likely cultivated by poor management and leadership. I will never return to this dump.
google avatar

Yelp
The good: Great massage. Maybe the best massage I've ever received. Kudos to the spa staff and massage therapists there. It's a lovely environment. It's also the most expensive massage I've ever received (with an additional $58 "service charge" that wasn't explained beforehand), but I felt good after it. The bad: The hotel is otherwise pretty run down with unprofessional staff (management included) and terrible food options. Rooms are small, but fine for my needs. Other reviewers have noted the lack of a free breakfast. I would have been happier with peanut butter and an English muffin over anything the "award-winning" Bluegrass Bistro restaurant offers. It's dismal. The Starbucks that the hotel's website advertises is not a Starbucks. It's perfectly adequate coffee and beverages served in Starbucks cups alongside wet Sysco sandwiches. The golf course (paved walkways included) is teeming with animal poop. Marriott should probably take its name off the place.
google avatar

Consuelo P.

Yelp
Horrible customer service from the front desk. The folks at the bar are great. They have to cover all the calls for room service. What a shame. This hotel used to be a gem. My 1st stay was in 2000. Step up your game or you will be replaced. Your reputation is waning. Get it together.

Thomas S.

Yelp
Attended an event here a couple weekends ago and just had to take a quick moment and praise the bartender. Alex was very attentive and most importantly made ALL the guests feel welcomed and accepted.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience for our holiday party - will definitely look to host there again!

Yelp
This hotel will leave you feeling luxurious and pampered. Their outdoor pool has beautiful cabanas and they have an indoor pool as well. Be prepared to spend a few hundred on a room, but you will not be disappointed. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable. If you are an elite member, you will also get a $27 voucher for free breakfast. It is a menu style breakfast and includes coffee/tea. This hotel is ideal to go to if you are feeling in an expensive mood and want to spend time in luxury.

Yelp
So I'm being kind with 3 stars... the room was clean ish. The customer service was sub par at best ...like almost take you out of your relationship with the lord bad. Many people ahead of me either were complaining to managers or sternly disputing charges. I write this as i sleep in the room because my veteran spouse pre paid for the room using his military discount. The saw my reservation but didn't know my room rate to charge me. Why would you charge me when the room is paid you ask... i had no clue and the staff couldn't explain it either. Two nights during the week day cost us $750 which I think is reasonable but not when you charge it twice! The resort fee was to be $50 bucks and well they charged me $690. So as they couldn't explain why I think a visit with the manager will be warranted today. The food ... just go out in town. The staff in bar and restaurant had good service but listen the food lacked flavor. The aioli sauce was mayo, the burger my kid had was raw, my fish smelled (and if you eat fish you know the smell when it's bad). The hotel is dated and in need of upgrades. The front desk needs more training. Derrick was kind so I appreciate that. I'll spare the other young ladies name who really tried her best. Even watching her manager coach her was painful. Hopefully she has a better day. No one knew the price of the bourbon bar they advertised. Even the process on using it wasn't clear to some of the staff. You load money on the room key that you already have a deposit on to pay for free pours of bourbon. It was not organized and you needed to them go back to the bar for ice or chaser. Oh and no refunds... so if your under the amount you drank oh well buddy that's on you! Listen stay, play some golf or visit family and don't expect much else but a fluffy pillow and towels to shower. It's a great location and had a balcony over looking a parking lot for a quick escape. Take with it what you will

Lori P.

Yelp
So I attended a convention at the Griffin Gate, dates had to be changed due to double booking by the resort. Rate for our group was $114 a night. Resort refused to extend our room block. Room only has 3 drawers and a very small closet I'm on 5'2" and my formal dress was bunched up on the floor. At checkout my bill was close to $1900. Rates vary by night but of course my rate was a high one. No room for negotiation. It does include a $20 per day resort fee. I had neither the time or inclination to use any of those amenities. A friend reported that the bar had no mint available for mint julep the week before the Derby. Only good thing was the banquet staff and meals. This was in no way worth the money it cost me!
google avatar

Kayla J.

Yelp
Do not ever stay here. I stayed in Februrary was was charged resort fees by error. My company paid for this stay, so they were charged resort fees too! I have called this hotel countless times, and no one will help me, heck I can't get anyone on the phone half the time. I have tried since FEBRUARY to get this sorted out, and they don't care. I am on the phone right now, and I have called 8 times this morning to try to get a human on the phone, to no avail. I have called and called. Do not stay here, they will steal your money and not give it back!!!

Yelp
This is my go-to hotel in Lexington for a number of reasons. In fact, I like to say I have a standing residence here as I stay here (on average) 4 weeks a year. Here's why I keep coming back: -Super Dog friendly -Butter Cake -Large hotel bar -Starbucks in the lobby -Comfy beds -Nice concierge lounge -Golf and tennis if desired -Indoor and outdoor pool -Cute Pool bartender -On site Spa That being said I've had a variety of experiences here. It can vary greatly depending primarily on the staff working and the room you are assigned to. The rooms- especially the bathroom plumbing- is in definite need of an update. The bathrooms are super small and I've had multiple issues with sinks, toilets and showers alike here. I encourage guests to be honest with staff if an issue occurs. I find when confronted patiently, the front desk staff valiantly attempts to make things right. If you are lucky and get a room in the newer portion of the hotel, you'll likely enjoy the Griffin Gate. The beds are comfortable and the staff is willing to fulfill requests. I usually call a few days prior to my arrival date and request my specific favorite room(s). I don't valet park here as I find it to be an unnecessary expense and the parking lot is large enough to usually find a good spot. I have had some amazing massages at the Griffin Gate Spa. Jessica and Sarah were excellent at deep tissue therapy. It's a pricey service but I highly recommend checking it out if time allows. Getting a service here also will grant you access to the relaxation lounge and steam room. I love walking the hotel grounds, especially the golf course if it's a quiet evening with my dogs. It's a Beautiful property and keenly located near the Kentucky Horse Park. Do not leave the hotel with out trying the Bourbon Butter Cake. Whether you indulge while socializing with friends at the hotel bar, or inconspicuously order it from room service (with a cold glass of milk) YOU MUST TRY THIS CAKE. I know this is a hotel review, but the cake is nothing short of life changing.

Yelp
Landmark Lexington resort convenient to everything in Central KY. Spent a week here with the family showing them where dad grew up. Rooms were really affordable for a property like this. Pool, bikes and Starbucks gave the kids plenty to do. Recent renovation gave the hotel a nice facelift. Spa is incredibly overpriced for the lack of amenities and low end vibe it offers. Massage was great but overall experience is worth half the price of admission. Pool is a lot of fun. Again, a great setup for the price. Cabanas for 400+ for half a day are a joke, so they sit empty. I'm at a Fairmont in Hawaii now and cabanas are much cheaper. Unions gonna union I guess. Fun fact: Doordash and Instacart works great - sunscreen and pool toys showed up in less than 30 minutes. Overall, a great jumping off point for horse farm tours, race day, bourbon trail and all that Central KY has to offer.

Yelp
Don't let their website fool you. We chose this hotel for the following: 1. Boasted Peloton in fitness center. One bike didn't have pedals. The 2nd had broken seat adjuster. The toe clip was warped and bruised my foot. 2. Boasted bourbon and wine pavilion. Seriously? It was a self- serve machine with bourbon only. No wine available. 3. Boasted farm to table dining. Again, not happening. Female behind bar wouldn't even acknowledge us. Waiter finally did but had no idea about the menu or food prep. 4. Bathroom in room was definitely not Cleaned well. I cleaned it myself before using. 5. Check-in. Male front desk person walked away and said " she will be with you in a minute. " 5-7 minutes later she returned to front desk, continued to handle other issues and finally asked how she could help us. On a positive note young man asked us if we would like water. We had water in our hand. 6. Site boasted of beautiful views from room. Our view was of the roof top and hvac. The place wasn't booked. 7. As I approached elevator, housekeeper and her cart rammed into me and knocked my coffee out of my hand. She giggled and continued on her way. Coffee all over me and floor. Check floor 5 outside elevator. All said, I would never recommend this hotel. The higher cost doesn't deliver on the boasted amenities.

Yelp
Everyone seems to know the landmark Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington. Located just off of I-64 (and close to the I-75 intersection), it's an easy way to orient to the city. I remember meeting family here for meals when I was in college and they were passing through Lexington; it was an easy stop for them and an offer that I could refuse (tasty tee meal vs campus dining). I visited recently for a wedding, and was pleasantly surprised at the updates to the interior, and how sprawling the venue was. We got a great rate on rooms with the wedding event pricing (about half the advertised price from hotels.com), and quickly settled in before getting ready for the wedding. The staff was so friendly throughout the event, helping it go smoothly and enjoyable for all. There's a nice breakfast buffet in the mornings, and the servers were so friendly and did a great job of keeping our cups of coffee full throughout. I did have a small issue with the one of the chefs, but I let management know about it and I heard them promptly addressing it. If you have the chance to stay here for an event, it's well worth the special rate!

Yelp
In need of updating...everything... the outside, the hallways, the rooms...but I wouldn't let that factor bring down my rating--if that was the only issue. A little backstory...after an 8 hr drive from Charleston was turned into a 12 hour drive because of traffic, my wife, 3 daughters and I decide to stop in Lexington instead of pressing on to Cincinnati as previously planned. I pull up Priceline, do the 4-star hotel deal. We are assigned the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort and Spa. I'm thinking great, I almost booked it before doing the 4-star Priceline roulette deal. The major amenity we wanted....the pool. The girls were troopers for the long drive and swimming was going to be their "reward." So we check in about 8:30 pm. Ask about the pool hours. The front desk tells us it opens at 10 am. Awesome. We can swim for 2 hours and leave at noon (checkout time). We had to be back on the road by noon anyway.... Fast forward....we walk down a little bit after 10 am. Can't get in the pool gate. Walk back inside to ask. "Sorry, it's being inspected....the first available time is 12:30 (you have to sign up because of Covid)" *also, as you recall, checkout is 12 noon. Now I get it, COVID is crazy....and inspections are good and necessary but as a "4 star" hotel you need to post it or at a minimum advise guests at check in. Don't masquerade as a 4 star hotel when you are barely a 3..... The outside pool looked nice....if you decide to stay here, against my recommendation, I hope you get to enjoy it.

Yelp
The staff at this hotel is truly fabulous! We had an awesome time! Sure, there is construction going on, but it didn't hinder our visit at all! We had a blast! The breakfast in the lobby is free if you have the concierge lounge included in your room. Breakfast was really delicious, and the coffee was awesome. Our complements to the chef! I like the clean look of the renovated rooms and balconies. I do wish there was more than one chair on the balcony though. We ordered pizza through door dash from West Coast Gourmet Pizza, and I t was the best pizza we've ever had in our lives!!! I very highly recommend it!!

Yelp
Gave us 3 rooms before getting a 4th that was not dirty or used... The 4th was an upgrade to balcony room with no cushions on balcony furniture and the balcony was filthy. Not to mention the hand sanitizer at front desk did not work and Corona precautions were not top priority at all... Not the service that was once expected and delivered here....

Yelp
Awful. Staff was stretched way to thin. The rooms are dirty, as is the gym. Just gross. The air conditioning didn't work in our remodeled room, nor the rooms of 4 of our friends here for the same event. The drains were clogged, the elevators rarely were all functioning, the dust and noise was awful. Avoid.

Yelp
I will make this short and sweet. I was nice and polite when checking out. Told the guy everything was good, except when we got back to our room after the show we were attending we found a little "buddy" on our bed. I showed him a picture of the dead roach we found and killed and his response was, ---"yeah, thats a stink bug, they are everywhere" I looked at him and i said i know the difference between a stink bug and a roach. He just looked at me and asked if that was all??? Not cool.

Yelp
This review can hardly begin to convey the incredible incompetence and general unethical practice of this hotel's management. Their mis-leadership showed no respect for the patrons of their hotel, especially for a wedding party that specifically chose this venue prior to the pandemic. Zach and Robert put on a clinic of how any wedding venue/management should NOT operate. Imagine planning an event for years, and to have the police called on you while the reception is winding down after what was a great night. There was no reason given that would warrant such a response, and to harass the bride and groom in front of their guests is beyond rude and completely unacceptable. I've been a loyal Marriott/Bonvoy Member for years and am taking my business elsewhere from here on out. I highly recommend anyone looking to do an event at this location to look elsewhere.

Yelp
absolute nightmare. I arrived and checked in around 3:30. went to my room and saw that there were no plugs on the desk. or anywhere near it. there is a lamp on the desk with an outlet, but it also was not plugged in. I tried to plug into the nearest outlet with my computer and was about 3 ft off. I called the front desk and ask if I've changed rooms because I was there for work and needed to be able to use the desk. The staff member told me that there are no hotel rooms with plugs on the desk in the hotel. I inquired about why the pictures on the hotel website all show desks with plugs on them and was told by the staff member that she had no idea what I was talking about. She had never seen a photo like that. she recommended that I go buy an extension cord. I asked if they had one that I could use because I assumed that if no desk in the hotel had a plug near it this was a common request. She said that they would not provide one, and then I asked to speak to a manager. Instead of being transferred to Manager, she returned to the car 15 minutes later telling me that her manager also confirmed there are no plans on any of the desks in a hotel. I asked again to be transferred to a manager and was placed on hold for 40 minutes and eventually hung up on when I called back they requested to speak to a manager again. I was told that they had left for the day but they had found a room with a plug on the desk but it would be a downgrade from my current room. I stated that I would like to check out and asked to leave a voicemail for the manager. not only did I never receive a call back from a manager. I was charged for the fourth day and never checked out of the hotel I've continuously called and tried to resolve the matter because I stayed at the hotel for the entirety of an hour and was charged almost $500. I actually hate complaining about anything to staff because I come from a customer service background, but being lied to for over an hour by hotel staff for simply wanting work from the hotel room I reserved and paid for is wild. Then being charged for a full stay at a hotel, I didn't stay out and checked out from within an hour is ridiculous. It's been three weeks, and I have still not received a callback number and I've been refunded my money.

Yelp
We checked in-very nice staff. Room was missing refrigerator and TV didn't work. They sent up engineering to fix quickly. The room looks like a gray box. Very cold and uninviting. No art, color, carpet, or bottle openers. Felt like a dorm room for almost $250 a night. No menus for restaurant-we had to request almost everything.

Yelp
Even under construction this place is beautiful. The pool area was very resort like and I would have stayed there all day if they had a bartender. The rooms were beautiful and modern and the staff were great. Not one complaint staying here. We will be back

Yelp
Easily one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Everything is an up charge. I was trying to get a soft drink and the attendant told me he could not sell me one from the refrigerator full of drinks. When I went to the bar it was crowded and the one bar tender working the bar and servers looked at me and said nothing. When I went to the front desk and asked where I could get a soda they said "the gas station on the back side of the parking lot." The worker at the gas station was more polite and helpful than any hotel staff I encountered. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. In my travels it is becoming obvious that other chain hotels like Hampton, Drury, LaQuinta etc are far better than the "upscale" names.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL, I am Marriott Elite member, but I would probably never stay at Marriott hotel ever again. We checked in on Saturday and supposedly got a upgrade to Elite room. 3 AM the room start Shaking like earth quick, we contact front desk the guy is clueless as what is going on, I start looking around find out what's going on. The Mechanical room was below us and the equipment in there were going nuts, back to front desk they give me some washed out handy man dragging himself out telling me the circulation pump "needs grease" as he dragging himself to the room I go back to front desk ask for solution..... the guy is lost, finally they give us another room we leave our stuff go sleep there for the night. I go back in the morning and asked if everything is ok they said yes I asked to change the room they said no. Again the next day 4 AM the same song and dance ... I finally gave up left the hotel. They said they will credit me for the charges so far no credit yes.

Yelp
Place looks great from the road and staff is friendly. Rooms are new and nice but noisy. Windows leak lots of traffic noise and you hear every hall conversation because doors don't seal. AC kicked on several times at night and was preceded by banging inside the wall. Morning buffet breakfast for $18 was nothing but eggs bacon and little bit of fruit. Also set ip in corner. In all not nice and incomplete. Would not stay there again.

Yelp
My girlfriend gave us a night out of the house at Marriott Griffin Gate. The staff and the rooms and service was great. No issues!!

Yelp
Exterior dated but inside was remodeled. Positive: friendly employees, clean environment Negative: no free breakfast, no free internet, pillows are terrible
