"The Marriott Puerto Vallarta is a reliable choice that has everything you might want out of a beachfront resort: a lively swim-up bar, above-average dining, a kids club for the youngsters, and a spa worth writing home about. The crowd is diverse, with couples and families of all ages, plus conferences and groups, but what’s telling is how every type of person seems to genuinely enjoy themselves—staff included. Some of the property’s unique highlights include its “Gourmet Moments” tasting menu meals, an on-site tequila sommelier, and a spa treatment meant to mimic returning to your mother’s womb. A massive renovation this summer, including a new pool area and fresh restaurants, will keep this well-loved hotel from feeling stale."

This is my annual trip to Puerto Vallarta. I usually stay at the Westin but they are still under construction and the Marriott (though it has some construction going on) was more convenient for me this year. I was told this Marriott will be closed for 100 days starting the beginning of July for updates.||My room was nice and clean. The front desk staff was very helpful with all my needs. They have a wonderful coffee shop where you can also get some great sandwiches. I highly recommend the vegetable panini (see picture)! It's location is very close to the Mariana, where you can go and get everything from good food to great massages.||The pool is a really good size. The only ding I have to give them is that the pool is open everyday at 8am, but sometimes they don't have towels available until 9-10am. I saw on a previous review somebody also had this same complaint. It is something that management should fix up. Also, the lounge chairs end up with some bird poop/stains every night so they really need to hosing some these off every morning. (another reason they need to have towels to cover these chairs).|Room service and house keeping was exceptional! I also used their laundry service which was very reasonable and prompt.||The Westin is supposed to becoming an all-inclusive resort starting later this year and I was told from employees this Marriott will also becoming an all-inclusive starting in 2027. I do hope they will still have regular reservations available in the future for those who do not want the "all-inclusive" feature.| |The cost for a taxi ride from the airport (If you walk over the bridge and use the street taxi) is currently 150 pesos.

My wife I and I celebrated our wedding anniversary last May 2024 and had such a great stay that we decided to return in May 18th-25th 2025. We even decided to extend our trip an extra day! The location of the hotel is great - close to the airport and walking distance to the marina. The hotel will undergo renovations this summer and we're excited to return again next year. Our favorite restaurant was Mikado - 3 dinners!||The service from the staff is exceptional. A few people we would like to recognize... ||Cecilia at the front desk provided us a fabulous status room upgrade and was also able to accommodate our request to extend our trip an extra night.||Raul was one of our favorites in the Casita Restaurant & Pool Area and always provided exceptional service & laughs!||Las Estancia - Juan and Reyna|Ceviche - Arturo|Pool Bar - Javier|Mikado - Miguel and Filipe||Hope to see you all again in 2026!

I have stayed here over a dozen times through the years. I have always found the staff honest, this time was no different. I sent out laundry and they came back with a supervisor to return $2, yes two dollars, found in a pocket. I hear big changes are coming and they will be closed for the summer so some service and food was uneven as the wind down begins. Towels - why are they so precious? Pool opens at 8, towels by 10:30 or 11. If you don't remember to bring one up the evening before that morning dip can be cold. Will save comments about other aspects for a fall visit. As always, excellent service from Armondo and Raul on the beach. And the bell staff who are all wonderful.

Had a very pleasant stay at Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. The Marina area is nice, so plenty of restaurant and shops within walking distance (also hotel is less than 2 miles from airport). Room was nice with comfortable bedding and large balcony with great views (got upgraded to suite and was gifted a nice bottle of wine and tasty chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary :)) Only downside is room and furniture are a tiny bit dated (but perfectly fine) and air conditioner blew straight to bed (so my wife kept turning it off while I then got warm and turned it back on ;)). Pool was great, but beach (like most of Puerto Vallarta) was disappointing. Breakfast buffet was expansive. Wi-Fi was strong. Will definitely stay again at this Marriott if we return to Puerto Vallarta. Was a very relaxing few days.

Very nice resort in Marina Puerto Vallarta, right on the beach. Big property but never felt crowded (we went the end of May). The draws here are the fantastic ocean, city and mountain views, and the large pool. The one downside is the beach isn't really for swimming, as there are reports of crocodiles in the water (we didn't see any). The beach is clean, sandy and the water was warm. We really wanted to go swimming but we never saw anyone in the water, so decided to play it safe and didn't risk it. The pool is gorgeous, overlooking the beach. Lots of available chairs and umbrellas too. What I loved about the pool was that it was quiet, no music playing, just the sound of the ocean waves. Very relaxing.||Our room was large, clean and the A/C worked great. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was also nice, though the bath towels felt a little thin. The 2 free bottled waters in the room per day was nice (it's included in the resort fee).||Service was good, friendly employees, though we had to wait about 10 minutes to check-in, which was the only negative customer service issue we had on this trip. We ate at Las Casitas and it was really good. It's right on the beach with beautiful views of the ocean.||It's about a 5 minute walk to the marina, with restaurants, shops, a 10 minute walk to Starbucks and nice views of the marina and boats. We used Uber to get around, it's inexpensive and quick. About $4 to the nice Galerias Vallarta mall and $10 to old downtown and the Malecon (boardwalk). The Marriott is only a 5 minute drive from the airport, very convenient, but no free hotel shuttle. We used a taxi from the airport ($20) and Uber going back ($8). Keep in mind Uber won't pick you up in front of the airport terminal, you have to cross a bridge over the highway, about a 5 minute walk, to catch the Uber or cheaper taxis. ||Overall we had a great stay at this resort. Loved our room, the pool, and the service was really good. It was very relaxing and laid back, exactly what we were looking for. If you're looking for a quieter, relaxed stay, this resort is a good option.

I never thought I’d be writing this, especially as a loyal Marriott guest for many years, but my recent stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa was nothing short of a nightmare.||||During my visit, a valuable watch—which I had taken every precaution to secure—was stolen from inside my backpack by housekeeping staff. This wasn’t a case of leaving something in plain sight or out in the open. My watch was placed in a dust bag, inside a jewelry pouch, deep within a zipped and clipped backpack, carefully hidden beneath other items, and placed out of view near the sofa in my room. It was a clear, premeditated violation of privacy—housekeeping staff had to unclip the backpack, unzip it, dig through layers, and knowingly remove my personal belongings to find it.||||When I reported this theft to the hotel, I was met with shocking indifference and outright disrespect. The management showed zero empathy. I was told, to my face, that this was “your fault as a Marriott customer” and that I should “know what a safe is.” No apology, no concern, no sense of responsibility from a brand I’ve trusted with thousands of dollars over the years.||||To make matters worse, I was physically pushed aside by front desk staff, humiliated and blamed for the actions of their own employees. At no point was there any investigation or support offered. They simply didn’t care.||||Even more horrifying, when I began speaking out about my experience, I discovered that I am not alone. Multiple guests have reported theft at this very resort, and Marriott seems to be doing absolutely nothing to address it. One staff member even mentioned that “guests should beware of theft in Mexican Marriott resorts” as though this is something we should just accept.||||Let me be clear: this is not just about a stolen watch. This is about Marriott’s failure to protect its guests, total lack of accountability, and a blatant disregard for customer loyalty. I will be personally telling everyone I know to cancel their Marriott bookings—especially in Mexico—and to stay far away from the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa.||||If you care about your safety, your belongings, and being treated with basic human decency, DO NOT STAY HERE.||||Further review: there were no towels at the beach we had to wait 4 to 5 hours for towels. We also found a raccoon in the evening running around in the inside lobby, which is a hazard for its guests.

We live in Vallarta and enjoy going for dinner, appetizers and Daypasses at the Marriott. ||It is always a great experience. ||We were there last night in the Cerviche Bar and I cannot say enough good things about our server Jassai.||He was so friendly, on top of everything, offered great suggestions and just overall such a nice young man. ||I hope the Marriott recognizes the outstanding service members they have. ||Specifically this young man. He’s representing the Marriott very, very well. ||Thank you.

Was invited as a plus 1 to a work trip there. Great garden view room, daily room service, beautiful beach and sunsets, amazing food, 5 star service especially from Carlos and Raul at the beach. Note: this is not the Caribbean, so expect water to be slightly choppy, cooler but TOTALLY swimmable. For kids, there a little playground near the beach with a water feature. The pool was amazing with a swim up bar and lots of cabanas you can rent for the day for only $100. I wish the hot tub attached to the pool was bigger because as the Pacific winds pick up in the evening, everyone wanted to warm up in the hot tubs. If you eat seafood, please try the tuna tostada for poolside and oceanview lunch— you won’t regret it! The Spa! OMG the spa! Best massage of my life, followed by 45 minutes in a private hot tub. Then Hubby and I split for the wellness areas, which have a cold plunge, hot tub, warm tub, sauna, steam room, and showers. They also have several luxury skin care products for your needs. My masseuse was Elizabeth and she was incredible. I wish I had pictures to share, but for privacy reasons I didn’t capture the spa. The wellness areas are divided by gender (men’s side and women’s side) so be mindful of that. A day pass to just enjoy the wellness area was only $16. Our room was a garden view, and there was a man-made riviera running through the hotel, which was so comforting to hear running. The bathroom had a separate water closet for the toilet and a shower. We ate at the champs restaurant, which is kind of an American Mexican restaurant— Good for a quick bite, but I prefer to stay close to Las Casitas and the pool bar food. We didn’t make it to the Japanese restaurant, Mikado. Room service could be improved in terms of food quality. Puerto Vallarta as a city is extremely safe. Ubers are cheaper than taxis and it costs about 120 pesos to get to the Malecón boardwalk. We were walking around at 1 AM and families are just out with their kids and their dogs. Just enjoying the night eating street food. Puerto Vallarta has the most friendly loving people I have met in all the places I’ve been in Mexico. This resort is an affordable, delicious, aesthetically beautiful place that couples and families can enjoy.

Yelp
We are avid travelers, and this resort ranks among the best we have ever experienced. Beautifully landscaped, it opens to a full ocean view. Our room was amazing. See pictures attached. From this location there are several fun walks, most notably a marina loaded with additional restaurants and shops. No swimming, though . . .see picture below. The manager, Lily, was truly a pleasure. A minor issue was quickly and happily resolved. The super star of the show, however, was Andrea, the cook in breakfast restaurant. Watching her make multiple delicious omelettes was a pleasure in itself. Add some fresh cut fruit, and multiple choices of fresh squeezed juice and more, and you have a stellar meal. If you are considering a trip to this area, The Marriott Resort and Spa is a great choice. Also, add the promenade walk along the beach in the downtown area, dotted by a lovely historic church, to your itinerary.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Special shout out to Cecilia at the front check in desk. Upon check out she professionally and patiently explained the bill to us while maintaining a cheerful attitude. When we walked into the hotel there was a strong off putting smell which affected our perception. Other than that the pool was quite nice, jacuzzi , swim up bar, lobby bar, and a beautiful view from the Mexican cuisine restaurant. Excellent housekeeping staff. Beautiful spa.

Yelp
We were leaving Punta Mita when our flight was delayed four hours, so we stopped at this Marriott to grab a bit and kill some time... The valet guys were super nice and held our bags for us and one even gave us a courtesy ride to the airport when we were ready to go... That may have been the highlight, however. We found the grounds to be super dated, the restaurant less than mediocre, and everything else just okay. I do recall being impressed with this property years ago, but until it gets a renovation, I'd suggest looking at other properties... unless for some reason you want to stay downtown close to the airport, then this could be your place!

Yelp
1st stay in PV & at the Marriott didn't disappoint. The resort was beautiful & the premise was clean. I didn't smell any of that strong cleaning product either like I have in the past at other resorts. Staff were super friendly & attentive. Would highly recommend making dinner reservations at the restaurants on site if you're not going to the marina (10 min walk) from the hotel. We had a fun, yet peaceful stay. Would highly recommend this spot for families with children.

Yelp
I never expected this beautiful place!!! Wow. My husband and I are celebrating 45 years and Valentines. The hotel is uber clean. The staff are amazing. Carmen checked us in and she went and above to treat us. The ocean view is so beautiful with the Mountain View!! We will be back and longer.

Toni T.

Yelp
Cecilia at the front desk is professional, accommodating and absolutely the best!!! She made my husband and I stay enjoyable and memorable! Thank you Marriott for such great customer service.

Robert C.

Yelp
Having travelled to PV numerous times this was my first experience at the Marina Marriott. Overall it was a positive experience. The staff was friendly, attentive and service oriented. The rooms are not new - but mine was clean, with a nice view and had a super comfortable in Marriott bed. But what really truly made stay was the staff at the restaurant. My sever Roberto was absolutely outstanding. And the breakfast buffet was amazing filled with delicious fresh and delightful offerings. The ocean here is a little bit more enjoyable than that of the Sheraton. It was a bit more peaceful, less Rocky, and easier to walk along. That said the marina is a little bit further out of the way and you are more isolated. If that's what you're looking for you're going to love it here. All in all, I'll add this hotel to my shortlist when I return back. If nothing else, the breakfast alone made it all worthwhile.

Yelp
Just come ! Stay !! This hotel never disappoints me . Through countless visits they continue to surprise me and go above and beyond. It is my best friends birthday and they pulled out all the stops to make her feel special Armando our poolside server! Outstanding!! Intuitively knew our needs ! Icy cold beverages waiting at our palapa , fresh meals ! It was amazing as always!! The house keeping staff did a great job of decoration in our rooms ! What a lovely treat to return from the beach to balloons and decorations Well done Marriott! . Well Done !!

Yelp
Top tier satisfaction, great location. Rooms are very clean and staff is wonderful getting you checked in bringing bags into the room providing excellent customer service, and a nice welcome drink when you arrive! The pool is very large the beach is clean and they really take care of their guests

Yesenia R.

Yelp
We had originally planned to stay at an air bnb here in town but the location was not it. We drove around looking to book a last minute hotel. Luckily the receptionist was very kind and accommodating. She booked a room for us and even offered an extra bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Parking lot was well kept. The beach in the backyard is amazing with a bar and a few places and shops to visit. I would recommend this hotel and book here in the future.

Nancy S.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my stay here! Great location. Great rooms and service. The pool was awesome, and I just loved everything about this hotel. It wasn't overwhelmingly big, so it was easy to get around. I wasn't a huge fan of the restaurants, but the marina is a close walk, so it's no big deal. I'll definitely be back.

Vida A.

Yelp
While walking on the beach, we decided to stop for a drink and lunch at the outdoor pool bar. Janeth, our server, was kind, personable, and had a beautiful smile. She made excellent homemade guacamole, an aguachile tostada, and a vegetarian tostada. Armando served us our delicious drinks, engaging in great conversation and making us feel at home. We are visiting from California and will definitely book our next stay at the Marriott. Everyone we encountered has been welcoming, genuine, and kind.

Yelp
We did not stay here overnight but dropped by for a visit while in puerto Vallarta. It was a Wednesday stop on our NCL cruise, and a lot of things are within walking distance from the disembarkation port, so we decided to take a long walk north up around the marina to checkout the Marriott Resort Puerto Vallarta. It is NOT a Marriott Vacation Club, but a Marriott brand hotel and we did not stay there overnight, but had the opportunity to walk around the grounds and we really were impressed. It's about a 2 mile walk from the cruise port, through busy roads with a lot of car/bus traffic. Thus, I don't think any other cruisers were there (it would be a simple taxi ride, but all the taxi traffic goes South to Malecon). The resort is set on a beautiful piece of beach, with no other resorts to share it. We didn't really see anybody swimming in the ocean, and the beach was relatively flat to walk on. There is a large resort-type pool, where a lot of guests were relaxing, enjoying the weather and sun. There were multiple, big conference and ball rooms throughout the facilities (there was a dedicated office for prospective event planning, so it must be big business). There was a large grassy lawn where tables and chairs were being set-up for outdoor activities (there seemed to be a conference in-town). There is free wi-fi at the hotel (even for guests) so we did take advantage. We did eat lunch at the in-hotel restaurant, to pay back a little of what we experienced. We really liked Puerto Vallarta, and the next time back, we intend to stay here as a base of operations.

Yelp
Can't wait to go again. Best resort to stay at Puerto Vallarta. Close to PVR airport too. in case your crew working for an airlines. Great restaurants and good service from the staff.

Ashkan A.

Yelp
We went to Marriott Puerto Vallarta Mexico for vacation and decided on this property given its great location within Puerto Vallarta. We were greeted by Azucena (one of the front desk staff) and she was very friendly and accommodating and gave us great information regarding the property. She also gave us a complimentary room upgrade to an Ambassador suite with scenic views given our Marriott Titanium status which was fantastic. The hotel is very large and spacious with many restaurant options on the property itself including different cuisines such as Japanese/Hibachi style, Seafood, Mexican, etc. Our absolute favorite thing about this property was the HUGE pool area with amazing pool service staff (shoutout to Francisco our pool server who was great) to provide you with plenty of great food/beverage options. There is even a fresh Coconut stand where they chop up fresh Coconuts (with and without alcohol) which truly makes you feel like you're in paradise. Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beach paradise atmosphere in Puerto Vallarta and will be returning here in the future!

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about this resort! It's family friendly in the best way. It's amazing for children and great for adults! First it's only 10 minutes from the airport which is a huge plus. It's a 10 minute walk to the marina which is super clean and nice. Then a 10 min car ride to downtown. The staff will call you a taxi and ensure you pay a fair price to or from the hotel. (If a driver tries to overcharge you, let them know and they will correct things) The staff was amazing! They were fantastic at anticipating needs and have more to offer than you expect. They have a doctor at the hotel for accidents or if you become sick. It was only $50 to see him and they can write prescriptions which are also low cost. ($150 pesos for two) Victor Aguilar at the pool side bar was another favorite! He remembered our names, room number, and drink preferences almost immediately! The front desk person who checked us in was able to upgrade us to a ground floor beach front which was perfect so we could hang outside while the baby napped! Our Bluetooth monitor reached from the room to the closest bar table so we spent at least and hour with Victor each day! The waterfall outside the rooms was a nice touch. It muffled the sound of people and cleaning carts so the baby could actually. There is also a sitting area, ping pong, and foosball outside the rooms so we actually had other things to do while the baby napped. The food was good, the drinks were tasty, and the pool was a blast. I could go on and on but you won't regret staying here.

Elsa R.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel on our vacation in July and was not disappointed. Loved the pool area and the whole aesthetic of the place. Juan helped us check in and he was so kind and helpful. The restaurants are a bit on the expensive side but that's to be expected in any resort. It was great the Marina was a short 10 min walk with so many restaurant option. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Maria L.

Yelp
We had a fantastic time in Puerto Vallarta largely due to our hotel accommodations! This resort is massive! We booked a garden view but with suite night certs plus our Ambassador Elite status, we were upgraded to the fabulous Ambassador Suite - a 1 bedroom oceanfront corner with our own whirlpool and terrace. Daily buffet breakfast was delicious! Couldn't get enough of their made-to-order chilaquiles & fresh smoothies as well as the HUGE breakfast spread from 7am-12 nn! They also gave us vouchers for an hour spa access for 2 people, cooking class, tequila tasting and 2 welcome drinks. The gym is a total fitness center with multiple pelotons, indoor pool and all kinds of exercise equipment. The Ohtli Spa was a bonus fantastic experience too: I truly enjoyed the Swiss Showers and cold/hot plunge pools. Love the swim-up bar at Nosh (shrimp tacos are so yummmyyy) attached to where we spent long hours in the infinity pool and love the fresh coconut (with tequila!) at Coco Station. Having a whirlpool in the terrace of our room gave us a chance to privately unwind there, under the stars, after long days of walking and swimming with dolphins. Muchas gracias to staff who stood out with excellent Bonvoy service: Reyna at Estancia (breakfast), Victor Arias at Nosh, Margarita in our suite 5041 & Julissa at Front Desk. This hotel is a US$4, 10 minute Uber ride to/from the airport. 30 minutes taxi to Zona Romantica. We're so glad we picked this property over the Westin. Can't wait to return!

Rulla A.

Yelp
We stayed here for 4 nights. On one of the days, we forgot to take the "Do Not Disturb" sign off our door so our room hadn't been cleaned. After calling the front desk and requesting a cleaning, they let us know that the housekeeping service was finished for the evening. We said no problem and simply asked for some water bottles and towels. When we came back from dinner, we were surprised to see the entire room and bathroom cleaned! We were taken back and impressed with the amazing service! Some other highlights of the hotel: -amazing pool with a bar that you can swim right up to -wonderful views -lovely spa (shoutout to Janet who trimmed my hair and gave me a blow out!) -great service and hospitality -breakfast buffet Areas of improvement: -food at the restaurants We both agreed that the food at the hotel tasted Americanized. Even the guacamole was lacking flavor. I urge you to enjoy the hotel's pool & spa amenities but eat elsewhere.

Yelp
My wife and I just got back from another awesome stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa. This was our third time back and we brought the family and some close friends this time around to celebrate my wife's birthday. Everyone loved it and want to come back! The Marriott's BONVOY Elite upgrades, stunning pool, fitness facilities & spa, and its closeness to the airport, Marina, and downtown are all reasons we keep coming back. But the real winner is the amazing service we get each time. The staff even remember our names! Esmeralda Aguiar, the BONVOY Elite Chief Concierge, deserves a special mention. She arranged some cool birthday surprises for my wife. Esmeralda was super helpful throughout our stay. Same goes for Daniel Perez and Paola Marin. Juan Leos and Venessa Medina at the hotel front desk were always ready with a friendly smile and a helping hand. They always made sure we received "elite" treatment. The Resort infinity pool was our favorite spot to spend time together as a family. Manuel Arauza made our time at the swim-up bar a memorable place to celebrate. The resort's Recreacion staff (comprised of Silvestre Rodriquez, Javier Palomarez, Veronica Ruiz Jimenez, & Bibiano Lopez) provided spectacular and personalize poolside services and presented my wife with a surprise treat and personalized note. The Resort Fitness Center and Ohtli Spa staff were friendly and accommodating as well. Kudos to Gonzalo Ruiz, Daniel Palomares, and Benito Prudente for making our time spent there luxurious. The valet bellmen, led by Daniel Perez, provide an outstanding first and final impression of the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa to its guests. Jose Padilla (he was our driver back to the airport on Monday), Guillermo, Gustavo, Ramon & Hugo were super accommodating and always there to greet us. We also received special attention from housekeepers Martha and Rosalba who kept our suite spotless. We had a fantastic birthday dinner at Las Castitas thanks to Jose Diaz & Miguel DeRobles. They really understand that it's the little things that make a big difference. Also, thanks to Jorge Cruz, Reyna Raoilla, Rodolfo Tapia, at La Estancia for epic breakfasts each morning. Jorge even arranged to have the entire La Estancia staff sing to my wife on her birthday with a roman candle lit cake. We've had so many great encounters with the Marriott Puerto Vallarta resort staff. It's one of the reasons we keep coming back. Thanks for another great stay, we can't wait for the next one! Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our babymoon and we had a fantastic time. The amenities, food, staff, and room were great and we loved our stay. We did the all-inclusive dining package and very glad we did because we left with our stomachs and hearts very happy. I highly recommend this resort if you want to relax and spend some quality time on vacation!

Dan T.

Yelp
Really nice reasonably priced hotel. Rooms were modern and spacious. Great tiled bathroom with powerful shower. Balcony with ocean and pool view was excellent. The pool itself was fantastic. Really big, never overcrowded, swim up bar where you can eat and drink while sitting in the pool. The infinity pool edge is right next to the beach which is a nice touch. The hotel food options were very good and also the cocktails were very refreshing. The staff and service was always extremely friendly, warm, and the staff had a great sense of humor which made me feel that they wanted you to have a really good time. I will come back.

Audrey L.

Yelp
I took my first trip to Puerto Vallarta last month and stayed at the Marriott. It's located just a short ride from the airport, maybe 10 minutes. My sister and baby niece shared a room that had a perfect view of the pool and ocean. We loved their little cafe store for pastries, snacks and desserts. The hotel room was comfortable and the staff was super friendly. The pool is the best feature here! A huge pool that spans across the back of the hotel near the ocean. We opted for the pool since the ocean had signs to beware of crocodiles! The swim up bar was the best. It was also super walkable to a pharmacy and the marina restaurants, where we'd go for breakfast. Definitely a place my family and I look forward to staying again next time we come to Puerto Vallarta!

Correy K.

Yelp
I had a wonderful visit here this summer *2023* We enjoyed fantastic food prepared with care and love. The fusions of food was presented with taste and looked like art. The pools were clean and always had enough chairs to keep us happy. There are also cabanas. We did tequila tasting, Macarme making. The spa is top notch with state of the art equipment. Including tennis courts for those interested. The spa also has small cold/hot/foot massage pools. It smells wonderful and has a room to mediate and several massage rooms. The best part of my stay was releasing the baby turtles with the biologist. If you need more info or want to book a wonderful vacation -- Message me!

Kat N.

Yelp
We went to use the beach and have a snack- there is no swimming allowed as they have sighted crocodiles... the water was murky and the beach chairs were roped off in sections with no one to ask. The pool bar area was filled with young adults obviously drinking, and the tables were out in the extreme glaring late afternoon sun. We were told the other restaurants were filled yet walked in and were seated.

Yelp
This was our first trip to Puerta Vallarta and we loved our stay at the Marriott! The hotel location was perfect and the staff, all the way from the front desk to the valets, coffee house, beachside restaurant, etc. were top notch! A special shout out to Santiago and Domingo who took great care of us at the valet. Someone from our party left a bag in a local taxi and the taxi returned it to the valet station at the hotel. We left a tip for the taxi driver with the valets, not knowing if he would receive it. The next day, we were shown a receipt by the valet that the taxi driver was rewarded. It reinforced our faith in the kindness of the Mexican culture! They also helped us return to the airport in style, quickly and efficiently! What a great team! We would love to return to Puerta Vallarta and would highly recommend that you stay at the Marriott!

Yelp
My second visit to this property. First time was for work and it was so good that I knew I'd need to come back with the family. Got a suite overlooking the beach and the stay was perfect. Room was beyond great. The pool and beach were gorgeous and offered a lot of relaxing downtime. While we were in town, our daughter received her PADI Jr open water certification with Silent Water Divers. Their boat picked us up from the dock less than 5 minutes from the hotel. Overall the trip was memorable for this professional road warrior. I just wanted to show my family how much better my work life would be if they were with me and Marriott helped me deliver, big-time! We'll be back soon.

Yelp
Room was okay. Paid for ocean view... only got a small glimpse of the ocean. Room was average.. house keeping was ok.. hair clump in bathroom wall from other guest that never got cleaned... also had some spilt juice that was never mopped up. I liked that there was different food options on site. Ceviche bar cost us $80usd (4 dishes and sodas) and doesn't have much for the kids to chose from.. we ordered 2 different tacos and both were too spicy for the kids.. my husband and I ate them and they were delicious..we also ordered tuna ceviche which was sooo good and ordered some sliders for the kids since they couldn't eat the tacos. There's ice cream on the property too.. for one scoop it's a little under $5usd .. tasted just like store bought ice cream to me. They have a small shop that offers floatys, clothes, tequila, spray, etc... one small floaty was about $7.. we walked to the marina and they were charging about the same price so save yourself a trip and just buy here. Their deli food is kinda high but I'm glad they have the option... for One pizza it was a little under $15usd... Bfast sandwiches was also around $15... pastries range from $1-$3. Chips and pretzels are $3. Drinks for kids at the swim up bar was 3.50, fresh coconut drink $6 and pool food is about $10-15 per plate. I must say.. their nachos, quesadillas and shrimp burritos were all very yummy. The pool was huge and probably 4' in the deepest parts. There's islands and plat forms in different sections for kids to sit on. There's also a kid pool and slide area. We booked this place for the small baby turtle nursery and didn't realize it's not hatching season.. very bummed but we did walk over to see where it was.. Beach was rocky but once you walk past the rocky part the tide area is pretty soft.. but the current is definitely strong for little kids to play in.. Our favorite restaurant on the property is las casitas.. everything we ate from here was delicious. If you need to exchange dollars to pesos or get smaller pesos for tipping you can do that at front desk. Taxi from hotel to airport is 80pesos, Malecon 150 pesos and dolphin discovery is 200. All in all a great stay and we would return.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel. Very close to airport, but trying to get an Uber can be very difficult from airport to this hotel. Be patient, eventually you will get here. We had 5 Uber drivers cancel on us. This hotel has a constant breeze which helps because public areas have no A/C, so dress accordingly. Grounds: absolutely gorgeous grounds with beauty flowers all over and trees. Water features and just lovely to sit back anywhere to enjoy view and the breeze. Gorgeous sunsets here too, take them in from the second floor bar or even better from within ocean. Checkin: employees super nice, gentlemen working was very efficient, had good sense of humor, and friendly. He explained all items included with resort fee. Also welcome gift provided too: free drink (margarita, mojito, or beer) at lobby bar, tequila tasting, and cooking class. He provided us water and held our luggage because our room was not ready yet. The room was ready in 10 minutes, he found out at Concierge desk and provided us our room keys. Welcome gifts: the margarita was okay. The tequila tasting is two tequilas. I added the lighter tequila to my margarita, much tastier. The golden color tequila was nice to sip on. You book cooking class with concierge desk. I asked what we would learn. Guacamole. I skipped the class because already know how to make this. Resort fee includes 1 hour spa access, bike rental, kayak rental, and some other things I cannot remember. Spa access: reservation required because of COVID but we had difficulty get phone answered, but we finally did. The women and men are separated. The spa includes dry and wet sauna, foot soak, hot plunge, cold plunge. I used the wet sauna! It was blazing hot, LOVED it! Then took shower before leaving. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel provided along with towels. Locker access provided too. Kayak: highly recommend if you are comfortable kayaking in ocean. We rented the double kayak. First day at 9am. We saw a baby squid swim by, then bunch of fish, then all of a sudden a whale came out and flapped his tail twice!!! He came up and flapped his tail about 10 feet away from our kayak. It was so thrilling and a bit scary, but so cool! The second day at 8am, a few baby stingrays swam right by the kayak. Beach: The beach is not super clear water until you go a bit out on a kayak, but the water is so refreshing. It is chilly on entry but jump in and your body will adjust. OH MY GOSH, the sand on this beach is BLAZING HOT, please wear sandals or you will burn your feet like I did. When you see people running with bare feet it is not cause they are excited to jump into the ocean, there feet are burning hot, get out of there way. Wear sandals and leave on shore while you swim. Nobody will steal your sandals. The hotel has lounge chairs that recline with umbrellas so you can lie on beach to read, take a nap, or people watch. You will occasionally get bothered by someone trying to sell goods, but politely say no thank you and they leave. The hotel staff also very kind and will check on you if you need a drink or food. Pool: beautiful pool with bar that you can swim up and get drink. As the day warms up the pool water does too. You can get shade under the trees in the pool island or wear a hat. Gym: nice gym in same are of spa. Treadmills and free weights, machines. I went in, but did not use. Room: beautiful room looking over pool and ocean with balcony. Nice big shower. King size bed with flatscreen TV. Coach and coffee table and desk area. Very clean room! The staff mopped the floor every because there was no sand anywhere. The in room coffee is not very good but nice to have something. There is wall safe and mini fridge. The mini fridge has items that are stocked daily so be mindful of using it. Note: there is a 24 hour convenience store (Kiosko is the name I think?) at the marina, like barely 10 minutes walk from hotel. Go there to purchase water, snacks, and whatever other things you might need to save some money. There is a crepe station in the lobby, every evening the smell fresh crepes was amazing, but I did not buy them. Toppings of all sorts are available too. There are restaurants on site, but If you want to eat offsite, make sure to have cash either Pesos or dollars. Many restaurants like surprisingly amount do not accept credit. Note: there are two ATM in hotel lobby, pay attention one gives US dollars and the other pesos. The ATM in the lobby that provides pesos was out of order on our stay. No worries, the checkin employees can exchange US dollars to pesos too, passport is required.

Yelp
We booked this resort for 5 days back in feb 20th and got junior suite with ocean view (room 2010). We totally fell in love with the view from our room. Our favorite part about this resort was the pool. Wasn't very deep so we felt safe being in it especially we traveled with a 2year old toddler. The weather was actually nice during the time of our visit. It was high in the 80's and not very humid. We read the reviews here before we went and some of them said to walk out to the marina to eat instead of eating in the resort, which we did as well but honestly both places we tried out of the marina wasn't good at all compared to the resort's. We had most of our meals at La Casita restaurant (our favorite). Breakfast, lunch, dinner ... every item we ordered was good. We didn't care much for the breakfast buffet ( $22/person) at the other restaurant.... Forgot what it's called. By the way this resort is NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE!! We still enjoyed it though. We would totally stay here again if we travel to puerto Vallarta.

Yelp
I wanted to send a huge thank you to the staff at Marriott Puerto Vallarta. Special thank you to Carmen at the front desk who went out of her way to make sure that the 16th birthday celebration for our daughter was extra special. As well as the wedding anniversary celebration for our close friends. We hope to be back very soon!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here very much! The suite was okay, we've stayed at much more glamorous suites so I guess we had higher expectations but it wasn't bad at all. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the living room was nice, wasn't too crazy about the shower/bathroom. The room was extremely clean and smelled fantastic. The view was beautiful and we went to sleep and woke up to the waves cashing. It is so close to the shore. There was a crazy thunderstorm one night so you can imagine how loud the waves and the thunderstorm were. It was truly magical. If you know me, you know that I am OBSESSED with the ocean, so you can say I was in heaven! All the hotel staff were extremely nice and accommodating. All the waitresses at the bars/restaurants/pool area were STELLAR! There's only one pool but it's gorgeous and large enough. The bar at the pool is beautiful. The best part is that you have such a breathtaking view of the mountains and the ocean from the pool. All the cabanas were amazing. We rented different ones on different days, and the service was just wow! There are so much restaurant and breakfast options in the hotel and near the hotel, but not walking distance really! We used Uber often and it was great. Would definitely come here again if in the area!

Yelp
This was a last minute decision to celebrate my birthday at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta in the Marina area of Puerto Vallarta on the recommendation of a colleague. Upon my arrival at the Marriott, I was genuinely and warmly greeted by the staff. After checking in, I went to my ocean view room, dropped off my baggage and went with all due despatch to the Ceviche and Tequila Bar which became my headquarters and command post during my stay with my assistant barman extraordinaire Edelberto, making the perfect Cadillac Margarita. On my birthday I wanted to dine at a French restaurant near the Malecon for surf and turf, filet mignon and lobster which also featured live jazz but unfortunately it was closed but not to worry, Marriott had a battery of fabulous eateries to choose from and I chose Las Casitas to partake of my birthday snack, Caesar Salad and Ribeye Steak. Marriott Puerto Vallarta indeed was the perfect choice to escape to for my birthday and I definitely plan to return to spend more than 3 days and 2 nights as it is a fabulous property with all of the amenities befitting a King

Yelp
We only spent one night here to be closer to the airport on our last night of our trip. We were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful settings only 1.5 miles from the airport, Uber ride was $4 USD. We are platinum elites through Bonvoy and got upgraded to a nice panoramic view room as well as given a 5pm checkout which was very appreciated as we had an 8pm flight. Everyone working was extremely friendly, the pool is very nice and the $20 resort fee has a lot of perks if you chose to use them. We ate dinner at Mikado (so yummy) and reasonable. We were also given free contintenal breakfast because of our status which ended up being a Mexican buffet which was surprisingly good. We will definitely come back here next time were in PV.

Yelp
We love staying here! It's gorgeous, the staff is amazing and the food it great. We've stayed twice so far and will continue each time we return to Puerto Vallarta. We especially love Ramon who works out front and always greets us with a huge smile and kind words...and the staff who work around the pool. So attentive and even remember what we like to order. Everything very clean, love the spa here too. Highly, highly recommend!!

Yelp
Muchas gracias, Marriottpv! Check in was easy and a breeze with a designated check area in which we were guided. Esmeralda was very informative and thank us for being loyal Marriott members. We received tickets for various activities and welcome drinks to use at our leisure during our stay. The property is very family friendly, clean and roomy. Lots of open spaces plus some small intimate spaces if one needed more privacy. We tried all the restaurants on the property, and the breakfast was fantastic. We enjoyed them all with the tequila bar in the lobby being our favorite, for its live music and laid-back atmosphere. La Estancia -Everything on the breakfast buffet Nosh -blended Blue Hawaiian Tequila ceviche -seafood soup Nosh -ceviche with octopus Las Casitas -coconut shrimp Mikado -Mikado roll, Martini Champions -Buffalo sliders & onion rings Las Mangos -chips and drinks Thrifty's ice cream kiosk -ice cream sundaes Room service -Cheesecake with berries We had a couples massage the first full day we were in PV and we chose to have our services by the beach in the palapa. Both the therapists had magic fingers and hands; it was so good that we decided to have another couples massage the last day. With all of this being said, the one thing that made this trip over the top is the consistency of gratitude we were given for being Marriott members. From the taxi guard gate personnel, bell service team, pool servers, bartenders, hostess and wait staff at every single restaurant, the concierge team and our chambermaid Cecilia. We were also invited to a Marriot members cocktail hour on one of the evenings and in fear it would be timeshare type of event, I didn't want to go but once we asked a waiter what the note was about, he simply said, "no, no timeshare, just a thank you for being Marriott members." It was fun, and we had nice conversations with other brand loyal guests while sipping on complimentary drinks and snacked on pass appetizers. I think everyone we interacted with on this property thanked us for our loyalty as I stated already and it is, this small special act that has made us want to bring our whole family back next year. Marriott Puerto Vallarta Management Team and staff, great job to you and all you did to make this trip a relaxing and enjoyable one.

Yelp
Bedbugs! We booked a 5 night stay and the first night we found bedbugs! It was around 11pm, so leaving right then and there wasn't really an option.. So disgusting. Worse was management not really doing much aside from changing our room. We checked out the day after; management is giving us the run around with refunding. Thank goodness for credit cards though, they're submitting a dispute for us. Now we have to steam everything just in case. Such a nightmare.

Yelp
Alex Flores on recreation excellent service & poolside service he is very attentive very attentive to any recreation needs. A+++

Yelp
This resort was breathtaking and I am so glad I decided to stay here for my graduation trip. My husband surprised me with a graduation trip here and I was just blown away with the service, the ambience, the location, and the overall beauty of this place. My room had the beautiful view of the ocean so we could hear the waves all night when we would go to bed. This resort also had the option of all inclusive but it's known to be an all inclusive hotel. On this trip we wanted to explore out of the resort and eat out to more local spots so we decided to go with a hotel that's not all inclusive. They have a few restaurants here if you would like to eat at the resort and I didn't quite get the chance to eat here except for breakfast. My husband had also got the breakfast buffet so every morning we would enjoy a delicious meal. They had many options to choose from and the service was remarkable. The beach and the pool were gorgeous and so we enjoyed a few hours a day out there. We would mainly sit by the beach because it was a lot more peaceful and my husband and I love the sound of the waves. The water of the beach from a certain pot is more muddy but warm. There is known to be alligators in the water so be careful and cautious. The concierge is great here because they help book your excursions, spa, covid test, and other activities you wish to do inside or outside of the resort. We had booked our excursions well in advance so we saved a lot more money. They also have a free cooking class you can attend at the resort which my husband and I did. We ended up learning how to make Mayan guacamole which was pretty good cause now I will be adding pineapple to my guacamole dip. The staff here are so friendly and we had no issues here at all. The food here is amazing, location is great because it is 5 minutes from the airport and 10-15 minutes from other popular spots. They also allow you to rent for free the kayaks and bikes here for your own fun which I took advantage of. I highly recommend this amazing resort if you want a relaxing and fun trip. Also keep in mind this resort caters to more mature audience than the younger crowds.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great service throughout hotel. Not happy at all with the pricing for an all inclusive. Paid for all inclusive, but there are many exclusions, some of which make absolutely NO sense! Paid over $12 for two small boxes of water at the cafe, when water is free with i'm the all inclusive package everywhere else in the hotel. The last thing I want to do while I'm on an "all inclusive" vacation is pay attention to how much things cost, especially water! Would have been a five star review had it not been for the pricing issues.

Yelp
Stayed at this resort for 5 days in July 2022 and enjoyed every minute. After taking a taxi from the airport, you walk into an open air hotel lobby with an immediate view of Banderas Bay. We were upgraded to the Ambassador Suite with an amazing balcony view of the bay. The room was nice and mini stocked. The infinity pool was the best part of this resort. Great views and poolside cabana options. For food options, they have you covered. This resort has 5 plus restaurants onsite, so you essentially never **have** to leave the resort.

Yelp
Overview: Excellent service, beautiful grounds, great tropical beach vacation Arrival: Arrived by Uber just a few minutes before noon. Efficient check-in process. Asked for an upgraded room, and received a king room with an ocean view in the main section of the hotel (directly above the lobby). Since we arrived very early, we were asked to wait a few minutes. Since we needed to schedule our COVID test, we walked over the concierge and scheduled our tests. By the time we completed that, our room was ready. Room (general): Room 3007, spacious and clean. Included a king bed, desk with two chairs, LG TV, loveseat.... The room had a mini-refrigerator, min coffee maker, closest with mini safe. Nice balcony with two chairs and an end table. Great view of both the main pool and ocean. Bed: Decent bed and linens. Bathroom: All marble, shower only but the shower was large. Adequate but not great lighting in this bathroom. Just enough counter space but not spacious. Good Conair hairdryer. Noise/sleep quality: The floors of the rooms and hallways are tile and do not insulate sound very well. The first night we heard some hallway noise. Another night the alarm clock (which was behind the nightstand and not visible) went off at 6:00 a.m. Overall decent sleep quality but not the best. Housekeeping: Good housekeeping. I left a note requesting extra water with a tip each day, and housekeeping read the note and left extra water (1 to 2 bottles per day extra). Gym: decent gym near the spa Pools: Kids pool and main huge pool. If you're a swimmer, don't plan on laps in the main pool during the day. The main pool during the day essentially becomes a giant bar. In the afternoons, the main pool is filled with people, some rowdy and some polite, drinking and floating. I swam laps early in the morning. Main pool hours are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The closing time for the pool is monitored, but as far as we could tell swimming early was not a problem. Spa: Ohtli spa is on the main floor. All guests have no charge access to the jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms (separate for men and women). Reservations for the free amenities are required. Massages and extra services available for set prices. Beach: Nice beach with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Beach service from the bar and restaurant. The sand gets really hot in the afternoon. So bring sandals if you plan on walking from the beach chairs to the surf. Free use of kayaks and stand up paddle boards one hour per day as part of the resort fee (also bicycles available for free). Reservations are required, and the sea equipment is only available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you have water shoes, consider wearing them while kayaking. We also wore long sleeve rash guards because the sun is intense. Restaurants/bars: Several restaurants and bars on site. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet at Estancia. Great buffet with omelet station, waffle station, fresh fruit, smoothies to go, everything you would want at a buffet and more. Complimentary welcome drinks and tequila tasting too. We enjoyed the tequila tasting while eating some awesome tuna tacos in the lobby bar. Great service at all bars and restaurants on site. Parking: valet or self-park. Grounds: Beautiful grounds with palm trees, cacti, flowering bushes... so lush and tropical. Very clean everywhere on site. Overall staff attitude: Service is a priory, and we have only praise for the staff. Conference facility: available but not in use during COVID. Tips: (1) Free COVID testing. Scheduling and testing were a breeze. We received our results in 5 minutes. (2) Bring sandals for the beach because the sand is HOT in the afternoons. (3) Getting an Uber from the airport to the hotel can be difficult. The trip is short, and we had 4 drivers cancel. Also, the airport taxi guys will misdirect tourists trying to use Uber because the taxi guys hate Uber. We got conned by the taxi guys into crossing the pedestrian bridge to try to get an Uber which was not necessary. (4) There's a nice convenience store that takes credit cards in the marina (10 minute walk). We stocked up on water, soda, etc. there and hauled it back to the Marriott. (5) Try the kayaks! We had a blast and saw a whale 100 yards out from the hotel. Whale season is late fall to late spring, but we still spotted one in mid-May. (6) Check your bill when you check out. We spotted an erroneous minibar charge on our bill. The front desk clerk quickly reversed the charge when we pointed it out and stated we had not used anything in the minibar. About our review: We're loyal Marriott Titanium status travelers. We've been all over the planet, which gives us perspective. And we compose our reviews based on our experiences, not others' reviews.

Yelp
We stayed here for exactly 7 days in June and it was honestly one of the best experience I had. It's LITERALLY 5 minutes from the airport. It was the first time I really opted out of all-inclusive and I loved it so much. All the restaurants were delicious and affordable. The gym was a bit old with all the equipments but it did the job. I had free breakfast every morning at their buffet which was ideal. They had fresh juices, omelet station and all that you can think of. We rented the cabana (twice) the day prior and it was about $60. The pool gets pretty packed, but it's fun and spacious. They also offer free rentals for kayak, bikes, and paddle boards. Ubers to the Malecon/downtown area was roughly $6-8 and about 15 minutes drive. Staff here are super friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back to stay here again.

Yelp
Second time here and it just keeps getting better. The staff alone is always so nice. The rooms are left spotless each day from the amazing cleaning staff. They have a huge beachside pool with a swim up bar and plenty of chairs and huts on the beach to go relax under to get away from the noise at the pool Plenty of bars and food here, but get in an Uber and go enjoy the wonderful city or at least walk up to the marina. While you could have a great vacation and never leave the hotel you would be wasting a chance to see a city that is so friendly and eager to show you why PV is their little section of paradise.

Yelp
second time this beautiful resort. friendly staff, great food and terrific pool. HOWEVER, the internet is atrocious. I mean terrible. Might as well be in the jungle of Bolivia. Great place to relax but if you need or want reliable internet this isn't the place

Yelp
This was our second visit to Marriott Puerto Vallarta. The location is perfect!!! Only 5 minutes from the airport and walking distance to the marina. The staff was super friendly from time of arrival until time of departure. They have many places to dine at the resort, however we preferred to try all the different restaurants at the marina. The pool was amazing and the jacuzzi had powerful jets which provided free back massages lol. Their gym was great and offered many different machines, along with a yoga room. The rooms were spacious and the AC worked very well. They give you 2 FREE bottles of water each day which was awesome! Usually you have to pay $9.99 for a bottle of water at resorts! We loved the hotel and the city of Puerto Vallarta! We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel and area of PV. Cheers!

Yelp
What a great experience! Nicest people in the world work here, and truly appreciated the friendliness of the properties staff. We came down for our 10 year anniversary on a last minute trip and they treated us so wonderfully. Even sent a bottle of champagne and a plate of goodies for us to share on our big day. Great food onsite and plenty of options to choose from, however if you want to go offsite there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Pool area is super clean and the staff are so friendly and wonderful; ensuring no one is ridiculously obnoxious, passed out drunk, or getting the pool dirty. Rooms are a great size and have beautiful views of the ocean. Would definitely return!

Yelp
I LOOOVE this hotel! My mom came here since the hotel was recently opened (Abt 32 ish years ago)and they know my mom really well so they treat us really nice (Which is what I think matters the most.Good service) They have a Thrifty ice cream shop right when you enter.I always get the crepes with nuttela with vanilla ice cream on top. They also have a deli shop. I got vanilla latte. It was really good. They're is a kids club which offers different activities each day for the kids.My little sister went to the scavenger hunt which tours the whole hotel (except the restaurants and rooms of course). You also can ask for volley balls ,dominos, ping pong ball for the ping pong game, basketball for the hoop, floaters but I just don't know if you have to rent them cause I've never got one .The Pool is an infinity pool with a view of the beach-ocean.I get the dirty monkey at the bar in the pool. For the kids there is hamburgers, chicken fingers, and many more.Drinks for the kids. There are pinadas (pina colada with out alcohol)or just ask for a virgin pina colada.I didn't really think the room service food was that good.Housekeeping just cleans whatever they want. They don't clean good imo.If you're at the pool and want good service I recommend Raul.We know him so he's really nice to us.You can also rent her skis. They are really cool and fast.I can say enough great thing about the hotel.I really recommend!!!

Yelp
My friends and I did a lot of research over where to stay in Puerto Vallarta. We settled here for a few reasons: - We are Marriott loyalists - It's close to the airport - The price was right. $116/night with a $50 resort credit per room. The good: -Clean rooms -Good food -Good poolside service -Fast and efficient check in and check out The bad: -The fridge in the room is locked -The ocean water was very brown due to river and rain water. If I had to do it over again, I'd do more research to stay where the water is more blue.
