Yelp
Gorgeous hotel. Very close to airport, but trying to get an Uber can be very difficult from airport to this hotel. Be patient, eventually you will get here. We had 5 Uber drivers cancel on us. This hotel has a constant breeze which helps because public areas have no A/C, so dress accordingly.
Grounds: absolutely gorgeous grounds with beauty flowers all over and trees. Water features and just lovely to sit back anywhere to enjoy view and the breeze. Gorgeous sunsets here too, take them in from the second floor bar or even better from within ocean.
Checkin: employees super nice, gentlemen working was very efficient, had good sense of humor, and friendly. He explained all items included with resort fee. Also welcome gift provided too: free drink (margarita, mojito, or beer) at lobby bar, tequila tasting, and cooking class. He provided us water and held our luggage because our room was not ready yet. The room was ready in 10 minutes, he found out at Concierge desk and provided us our room keys.
Welcome gifts: the margarita was okay. The tequila tasting is two tequilas. I added the lighter tequila to my margarita, much tastier. The golden color tequila was nice to sip on. You book cooking class with concierge desk. I asked what we would learn. Guacamole. I skipped the class because already know how to make this.
Resort fee includes 1 hour spa access, bike rental, kayak rental, and some other things I cannot remember.
Spa access: reservation required because of COVID but we had difficulty get phone answered, but we finally did. The women and men are separated. The spa includes dry and wet sauna, foot soak, hot plunge, cold plunge. I used the wet sauna! It was blazing hot, LOVED it! Then took shower before leaving. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel provided along with towels. Locker access provided too.
Kayak: highly recommend if you are comfortable kayaking in ocean. We rented the double kayak. First day at 9am. We saw a baby squid swim by, then bunch of fish, then all of a sudden a whale came out and flapped his tail twice!!! He came up and flapped his tail about 10 feet away from our kayak. It was so thrilling and a bit scary, but so cool! The second day at 8am, a few baby stingrays swam right by the kayak.
Beach: The beach is not super clear water until you go a bit out on a kayak, but the water is so refreshing. It is chilly on entry but jump in and your body will adjust. OH MY GOSH, the sand on this beach is BLAZING HOT, please wear sandals or you will burn your feet like I did. When you see people running with bare feet it is not cause they are excited to jump into the ocean, there feet are burning hot, get out of there way. Wear sandals and leave on shore while you swim. Nobody will steal your sandals. The hotel has lounge chairs that recline with umbrellas so you can lie on beach to read, take a nap, or people watch. You will occasionally get bothered by someone trying to sell goods, but politely say no thank you and they leave. The hotel staff also very kind and will check on you if you need a drink or food.
Pool: beautiful pool with bar that you can swim up and get drink. As the day warms up the pool water does too. You can get shade under the trees in the pool island or wear a hat.
Gym: nice gym in same are of spa. Treadmills and free weights, machines. I went in, but did not use.
Room: beautiful room looking over pool and ocean with balcony. Nice big shower. King size bed with flatscreen TV. Coach and coffee table and desk area. Very clean room! The staff mopped the floor every because there was no sand anywhere. The in room coffee is not very good but nice to have something. There is wall safe and mini fridge. The mini fridge has items that are stocked daily so be mindful of using it.
Note: there is a 24 hour convenience store (Kiosko is the name I think?) at the marina, like barely 10 minutes walk from hotel. Go there to purchase water, snacks, and whatever other things you might need to save some money.
There is a crepe station in the lobby, every evening the smell fresh crepes was amazing, but I did not buy them. Toppings of all sorts are available too.
There are restaurants on site, but If you want to eat offsite, make sure to have cash either Pesos or dollars. Many restaurants like surprisingly amount do not accept credit.
Note: there are two ATM in hotel lobby, pay attention one gives US dollars and the other pesos. The ATM in the lobby that provides pesos was out of order on our stay. No worries, the checkin employees can exchange US dollars to pesos too, passport is required.
