Guide to Ko Olina, Oahu

"This hotel-and-timeshare property sits about half a mile from the local golf club on a human-made lagoon and is geared toward families, with clear waters, casual eateries, and several expansive pool areas across its grounds. Accommodations range from standard guest rooms to multi-bedroom villas with full kitchens, making it a practical choice for multi-generational getaways." - Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna Carly Caramanna is a theme park and travel journalist who has spent her professional career in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles. We actually belong to the Marriott vacation club and go to Ko Olina every other year in the Spring/Summer season. We absolutely LOVE this place! We have owned several Marriott vacation weeks in the past but have sold all of them except this one because it is so wonderful. The staff is mostly gracious, friendly and accommodating. The facility is beautiful and well-maintained. My only complaint is that they could use more quick service food options especially for later in the evening and in the early morning. In the morning, if you haven't bought food for your room, there is only 2 options for breakfast and lunch. One is very expensive (Longhi's) and Longboards gets crowded quickly. After an evening swim, walk on the beach or hotel event, sometimes you want a snack but the only option is the market/gift shop that is kind of small, has very limited options and gets very crowded. Longboards is the only restaurant and it closes pretty early, then there is nothing open but the gift shop as above mentioned. Their take-out food is also lacking in taste and quality. We walked down to Disney's Aulani Hotel many evenings to grab pizza, Dole whip, cupcake, etc. Marriott is missing out on this audience by not having any good quick service options for the hundreds of people who want a fresh tasty snack after 8PM. More food options would be my only suggestion since the 4 resorts in the area are spread out a bit and if you cannot walk the distance, you're out of luck.

Beautiful grounds with perfectly manicured areas and picture perfect lagoons safe for swimming and snorkeling. Very nice accommodations with friendly staff and fun activities for the whole family. I loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Waikīkī, it felt like paradise. Perfect sunsets from anywhere on the property! There was a free traditional dance show with food trucks on the Friday I was there and they had FANTASTIC FOOD AND MUSIC

I booked a 90-minute deep tissue massage for September 6, 2025, from 3:30–5:00 p.m. I had called the evening before after seeing a sign in the Moana elevator, and spoke with Jacozmine (spelling?) who was wonderful—friendly, efficient, and thoughtful in recommending I book a room massage for privacy and minimal outside noise.||I arrived 15 minutes early, completed the paperwork, and was greeted by my massage therapist (unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name). She was attentive and asked which areas I wanted to focus on. I mentioned my shoulders, upper and lower back, calves, and feet.||The first 45 minutes—while I was face down—were outstanding. She applied excellent pressure and attention to detail on my back, followed by thorough work on my calves. It was easily some of the best back work I’ve ever had.||However, once I flipped over, the flow seemed to lose momentum. There were a few pauses, and she spent nearly 10 minutes circling back to my head and temples multiple times. While relaxing, it felt repetitive and not what I had requested. Despite being so close to my ankles and calves, she never massaged my feet beyond a brief warm towel rub. Since I had specifically asked for footwork, this was disappointing.||The overall experience was still very good, especially the first half, and worth noting that the therapist clearly has skill. For a $260, 90-minute service, though, I expected a more consistent session start to finish.||I’m rating this 3 stars—the first 45 minutes were phenomenal, but the second half lacked direction and missed key areas I had requested. v/r, Dr. Ken King

Nice resort, could be better.|As elite Marriott vacation club members, we had certain high expectations. We were given a low floor suite overlooking the employee parking lot. The employees come to work very early and the lot is gravel so it is very noisy starting around 6:00 AM. Also all of the landscapers come by this area from early morning until noon. No sleeping in,!.|We had issues with the restaurants as well. The pool bar 'longboards' had a big football promo for 7:00 AM Sunday morning. No one could tell us what games would be on. We show up and get told there would be one TV showing the Rams game. That was disappointing, but would have been ok if the info had been shared when we asked. We were told to drive to Chili's if we wanted to watch the game. Also the upscale restaurant was equally disappointing, so so good, very high prices and a load of attitude. Marriott owners get a 10% discount on property, but not at the most expensive restaurant on site.||Beautiful place , crappy service and communication. Marriott could do way better.

We booked a "Mountain View" room, but all we see is a large cement parking structure with some trees poking over the top. Not exactly the relaxing, scenic balcony experience we were hoping for. |Is the rest of the property gorgeous? Yes. The pools are fantastic. The beach is lovely. The rooms are spacious and well kept. Just don’t expect the view you paid for—you may or may not get it.

I had a very good experience staying at this resort. It is a family friendly resort. One of the nicest free amenities on a beach property is the use of a washer and dryer with laundry detergent provided. The room has a laundry hamper and recycling bin as well. The resort is a timeshare and the rooms are able to open or expand in to larger full kitchen or private bedrooms. The standard room I stayed in was with a partial kitchen. It included a mini fridge, sink, dishes, coffee pot, rice cooker, silverware. Coffee was provided. I had a beautiful view of the resort and a partial view of the ocean. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided attached to the shower wall. The brand used is Mālie (mango nectar). It smells really great. Parking is $45 a day for valet or self parking. It was a little difficult at first to find the correct tower parking but not after you figure out where you need to park for your room. There’s a marketplace with food and groceries on site. Items are reasonably priced to match local prices. The restaurants on location are more expensive. There are grills on the property available for use if you want to cook your own meat. I did not use them. The pools are very nice and the lava tube water slide is fast and fun. It closes around 6pm. There are 3 pools and many hot tubs. One pool has a waterfall and cave to go through. No lifeguards. The beach is calm and beautiful. I did the timeshare presentation and it sounded good. I was unsure if it would be a good fit for me right and did not buy. The presentation took about 3-4 hours. The steam room and sauna were very nice. There are separate locker rooms adjacent to the fitness area. I would stay here again and had a great experience overall. I was spending a lot of time outside of the resort exploring the island, but enjoyed the evenings there. There are activities held by the resort during the day that I was unable to participate in.

It is a beautiful resort. The food options not so much. We went to a 90 minute meeting where they tried to "sell' us timeshare ownership in the resort for our family". The interest rate was over 13% & we 'could buy for as little as $344 per month for 15 years. They never gave us the bottom line tho. $67K plus when it is finally paid off!! It was a big NO for us.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. It is located a few steps away from a relaxing beach with stunning views! Perfect place to watch the sunset with your loved ones or romantic partner!

Yelp
We stayed September 25 - October 2, 2024 - I thought that I had already written a review... A better sign (illuminated) at the driveway would be nice. Check in went smoothly, and there was plenty of parking, easy to see room number directions too. We used the full size kitchen, washer, and dryer. The pools were always immaculate and the property was so clean. Plenty of beach chairs and wonderful ocean views too. The location is very convenient, as well as there being 2 on site places to eat. Everyone was friendly and helpful, a big shout out to server/waitress Stephanie/Steph S. and to Food and Beverage Operations Supervisor Kelley O'Sullivan. We also liked the owner's presentation by Brett Sturm because we learned so much. One thing needs some work and that is the gate card reader going into the Hale Moana parking area (the exit card reader works flawlessly).

Yelp
This my 2k Yelp review. As such it should be about paradise. Recently we had a 7 night stay in a two bedroom villa, Mountain View. I booked it 13 months out as the resort is in high demand. I'm not a Marriott timeshare owner but a Vistana timeshare owner. We checked in after 4pm in the Kona tower. We were given a parking card for in and out privileges in the self parking garage, vouchers for pool towels, and three orange wristbands for on site pool access. After the bellhop brought our luggage and groceries up to our unit, we went to park our vehicle in the garage. It wasn't until day 2 that we realized the elevator takes you down to the garage. Prior to that we took the outdoor pathway back to our tower. Duh. This may sound crazy to people but we're not pool or sand people. We never stepped foot on either. We love the islands for the food, the weather, and the various activities. And most of all the Aloha spirit. Everyone who worked at the Marriott was very friendly. Good morning or Aloha greetings all the time. I'm knocking off a star cuz the resort is looking its age. We've stayed here before with family members. From Ko Olina to Waikiki it isn't far in distance but time consuming due to the traffic. Day and night. We spent the first two days going to Waikiki but after that we stayed west side. As for our two bedroom villa, our Mountain View was better than we anticipated. We got a great view of the Ko Olina harbor. And if you twist your body to the right you can see bits of sunset. Come out to the lagoon at sunset, especially past Disney Aulani, and you'll enjoy breathtaking sunsets. We enjoyed our week long stay in paradise. And will return.

Yelp
My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Marriott Ko Olina, and we were truly impressed by our experience. The property itself is stunning, featuring well-maintained grounds that create a serene atmosphere. First and foremost, the service we received was exceptional. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in a studio with an ocean view--while it may not have been a full panoramic vista (check out the photos), I still found our view quite charming and relaxing. The resort boasts three lovely pools and four or five picturesque lagoons, including one that is part of the Disney Aulani property. As guests, we had the opportunity to visit the Aulani resort, though it's important to note that parking costs $45 per night for time-share guests (owners park for free). This is something to consider when planning your stay. Our studio was well-equipped with a variety of amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dishware, dish soap, laundry essentials, and more. It truly felt like a home away from home. However, I did encounter a minor issue that prevented me from giving a full five-star rating. The inconsistency in policies regarding wristband access for pool areas was a bit frustrating. Initially, I had planned for family to visit shortly after we checked in. Unfortunately, due to a change in plans, they arrived the next day, and I requested additional wristbands at the front desk. I was informed that since they weren't listed on our reservation, they couldn't join us at the pool. This was particularly disappointing given that my first interaction with a staff member had been very accommodating regarding wristbands. Despite this hiccup, I truly appreciated the friendly demeanor of all the housekeepers and staff we encountered. Their positive attitudes certainly added to our overall experience. In summary, the Marriott Ko Olina is a lovely property with fantastic amenities and beautiful surroundings. While there were a few inconsistencies with customer service, I would still recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in paradise.

Yelp
Huge place that fills up quickly! Have spent time at other Marriott Clubs for the holidays and this property didn't disappoint. It's a trek out of downtown but the isolation is worth it; the only drawback is the constant noise from aircraft. Morning noon and night plane traffic to Honolulu flies overhead when the military jets aren't cruising overhead. Totally didn't expect this but with a white noise machine it was manageable. The elevators were a pain because they were so packed! Had a two bedroom oceanfront suite and enjoyed the full kitchen, washer and dryer with available grills. Definitely a family place with lots of pools, slides and hot tubs. This side of the island is dry and the beaches at the resorts man made. Water quality was very turbid and didn't allow for good snorkeling conditions but the rest of the island is easily accessible if not travelling during rush hour.

Yelp
Always a good time here great calm location really enjoy the amenities staff are nice and helpful

Yelp
Such a beautiful resort! 3 different pools to enjoy. Including one where all are welcomed as long as you are quiet and another one with was noise restrictions and a water slide to enjoy. The spas are tucked away separate from the pools with surroundings to help you relax. Beachside with a nice calm water lagoon to relax in as well. Shaved ice is the best and reasonably priced even at a resort. The onsite restaurants are sooo good too! A must visit.

Yelp
So glad we had a chance to book this hotel in Oahu. It is away from the city life where truly feels you are on a Hawaii vacation trip. So relaxing with beautiful grounds and you are right on the beach. Staff were friendly upon arrival. They checked us in quickly. Gave us a few vouchers for shaved ice creams which added a nice touch to our visit. Our room was facing the marina and ocean. It was nice to wake up and have coffee on the balcony overlooking the view. Our room gave us easy access to elevators and laundry. Was awesome how I could do laundry before heading back home. It was free so no quarters needed! The pools were impeccably amusing with waterfalls and a cave. You can see the beach when swimming. Also, there was a Koi Pond where you can feed the fishes! Tokens are required to get the food. They had offered activities for the whole entire family such as yoga, corn hole, hula lesson, free Hawaiian show with dancers, entered raffles for free, and many more. Have to say it's one of my favorite property now to stay in Ko Olina. Highly recommended!

Yelp
RE: Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club Timeshare Our review is to alert anyone who may be considering joining Marriott Vacation Club. We bought a timeshare membership at Marriott's Crystal Shores Hotel on Marco Island back in 2020 and upgraded in February 2022, after being assured that the upgrade would result in better benefits and value. Unfortunately, we have not experienced the promised advantages. We have had this membership listed for resale for almost a year but amazingly no one wants it! We have contacted Marriott to return it to them but they offered no help. So unfortunately, we have been forced to stop making payments as we simply cannot afford the outrageous costs. We were offering to just give it back and forfeit all that we have already paid over the years of ownership and still Marriott refuses any resolution. We just want the public to be aware of what you are getting into when attending a timeshare meeting. You will be solicited with gifts and rewards but you will pay for those things many times over and your vacation dollars will be spent on fees rather than making memories and relaxing. You have been warned.

Yelp
No matter what the weather has in store for us, I never ever had a bad time here. This trip is no exceptions albeit a slight cold that my sister-in-law generously shared with me lol. So I lost one day trying to rest and sleep off my aching bones. We have been here since the kids were little, they had their childhood memories here and loved every minute of it. Thank you for another great vacation filled with sweet memories that started over decade ago.

Yelp
Nice beautiful beach day in Ko Olina, low tide right now but still a breath taking place to be with family and friends to enjoy the ocean and the nice cool trade winds

Masami ..

Yelp
Amazing lovely hotel! We enjoyed their hotel and their great hospitalities. Their workers are welcoming every where we went, even their land scrapers were smiling and welcoming. We met Juanito, Rommick, and Sunny who were very sweet to us. Thank you for the great experience at the beginning of our new year 2025!

Yelp
This place is like our "home away from home" as my husband would call it. It's a nice place that's relaxing and quiet. Staff are always nice and welcoming. There's plenty to do on site and it's a short drive to the busy streets of Waikiki. We love staying here and the lagoon is perfect for anyone and everyone!

Yelp
I have wanted to check out Ko Olina for awhile. I purchased a "preview package," so got a 1-bdrm unit here in March for $1,400 for 5 nights ($280/night), plus parking of $45/night for agreeing to a 90-minute timeshare tour. Overall, it was an enjoyable, relaxing stay, but I would rate it about a 3.5 out of 5, and wouldn't stay here again. I'll round up to 4, since I can see why others, especially those w/ small kids, might like it. On the positive side: * Liked the little "study" w/ desk off the bedroom; * Pools and landscaping were pretty, although "lagoon pool" by our room was closed for renovation whole stay, except last 2 hours on March 14, 2024 * Enjoyed the free daily fitness classes, especially yoga on the beach; * Beautiful views of the sunsets. On the negative side: * At check-in, they never actually gave me my room keys, just pool cards, so had to go back to the lobby to get our actual room keys; * Our TV in the living room didn't work - eventually got it replaced; * Didn't like the manmade beaches; felt like So Cal, not Hawaii * Extra charges - parking: $45/day, and cabana/umbrella $70/day * Not enough pool chairs; need to strictly enforce no "chair saving" policy * Timeshare guy (Derek Davis) was rude and condescending, and said many things that were not true (but, I guess to be expected). Hi

C A.

Yelp
While a very nice property with nice pools and beautiful lagoon and beach the rooms are old and need renovation. The bathroom was small, could not open the door fully and stand at the sink, and there was some mold in shower. If you are not an owner the the Mountain View room is completely misrepresented. The first room we had at checkin late at night literally faced the parking garage and a power plant. They could not move us till next day and the new room had a lanai that was about 18 sq feet and all we could see was a few trees and grass, no mountain but at least not the parking lot. Servicing the room daily was not good with things not refilled, things not cleaned, and overall room not feeling clean. While bigger rooms with better views might be better we would not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting this resort. We stayed in a studio which had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and a rice cooker. The room is small, but enough space for 2. There are laundry rooms on some of the floors. I loved walking around the lagoons every morning. They do have a Starbucks and a very overpriced market place. The staff were very friendly. I used the exercise room, which is sufficient for a resort. We ate at the restaurant which was delicious and got mocktails at Longboards. Beautiful sunsets. One of the pools was under construction but we did not use the reflection pool during our stay. We spent the days exploring the island. It was a quiet relaxing place to stay. We really enjoyed our time there.

Yelp
Marriott Ko'Olina Beach Club is one of my favorite hotels to stay at. It's family oriented, there's a lot of activities to do, a great fitness center, an awesome view, many superb restaurants to choose from, and the staff are very welcoming and kind. If you have the opportunity to rent a villa, I would recommend doing so. The villa is a spacious unit with a full-size frig, stove, washer/dryer, shower, tub, king-size bed, fold out bed, and a large dining table. Studios are just as good. It's equipped with the basics: mini frig, microwave, utensils, and coffee maker. If you're in a studio and want to cook. Along the pool area there are BBQ grills for guests to use. Working in the city with the go-go-go mindset and staying at this property, I feel a sense of calm and relaxation. Being here changes the pace of my regular lifestyle and rejuvenates me to continue on that pace.

Yelp
Paid for a room with an ocean view, and that wasn't honored. when we confronted the front desk, they would not accommodate us for what we paid for.

Yelp
What a beautiful resort inside and out. I love the outdoor indoor feel in the main lobby and restaurants. There are three main buildings with the lobby being in the middle one. There is parking for each building too, valet and self parking. When you walk in to check in, there is someone to greet you and help you know where to go. We arrived before our room was ready, but we were still able to enjoy the resort. We left our luggage in the car, but I'm sure you could have the front desk hold it too. We enjoyed the pool for many hours until we checked into our room. There are three pools and a lot of hot tubs. We mostly enjoyed ourselves at the pool with the rock slide and all the caves - it was so fun! I believe the water is heated since it felt warm. Even though the weather was good when we were there, it wasn't super hot, and there was a breeze, but the water felt good. We also enjoyed their beach lagoon. I like how the water is calm and it is so beautiful. There are lounge chairs and umbrellas that you can reserve on the beach ahead of time. There are also some at the pool that go quickly, so make sure you reserve them as soon as you know you will be there. The rooms are really nice. We had a two bedroom with a living room and kitchen. It was all very nice, high-end and clean. The room also had a washing machine and dryer. The restaurant, Longhi, is pretty good. It is indoor/outdoors. I wrote a separate review for that restaurant. We also ate at Longboards restaurant and it was pretty good too. That is the restaurant out by the pools and at huts closer to the other pools. I would definitely stay here again and enjoy it longer next time!

Jen C.

Yelp
We used this place for a family vacation, and it's perfect for anyone looking to relax by the beach, away from the downtown area. The rooms were spacious, and beach access was convenient. For pool enthusiasts, there are several pools to choose from, though they are more for casual fun rather than serious swimming. The new Nai'a Tower offers the best ocean views, while Moana's pool view is nice as well--though it can get noisy, and the smell of BBQ from the lawn area can drift up. Our only real complaint was the long wait for the elevators. Regardless of the tower, it's challenging to get an elevator in the morning when people are checking out. The staff were all friendly and easygoing. Special thanks to Ronnie Rodriguez at the front desk and Albert from housekeeping. When one of our party members fell ill, Ronnie was quick to help. And when I needed to cook porridge for them, Albert went above and beyond to provide a new rice cooker, as the one in our room was not in top condition.

Yelp
I have stayed here multiple times and I have been impressed every time. The staff is always available and ready to help you. The rooms are outstanding!! Never have I had nicer rooms than the king suites. I will always come back and stay at the Marriott Ko Olina when I come to visit my son who lives there!

Yelp
This is a wonderful resort and is one of our favorite places to come for vacation! Located on the southwest corner of Oahu and away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu & Waikiki. Has their own beach lagoon and pools to enjoy. Gorgeous open-air lobby! Comfortable rooms. Garage and outdoor parking. Aloha spirit all around the property. This is a Marriott Vacation Club timeshare property. I have read about negative ratings from non-timeshare owners about not getting preferred rooms. Because this is a timeshare property, timeshare owners will get priority over non-owners when assigning rooms. Therefore, guests should not rate this resort as a regular hotel.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
The views from room 31125 in the Nai'a Tower were outstanding! I would request this room every time. The pool is still noisy, but I got used to it this time for the views. November is a great time to go, a little less kids, warm water, and over all great resort. We came with the grandkids week 1, ages 6 and 4, and it was a perfect resort for them with the lagoon and Nai'a pool. The second week we were on our own, and realized we enjoyed the resort just as much, and we will do quick vacations here now. Only caveat, do not fly Hawaiian LAX, the arrival gate is a solid 20 minute walk to luggage, and then to get to the Marriott buses you actually have to leave Terminal B and go Terminal 3, another 10 minute walk. I see that there are flights now out of Ontario to Oahu, that will be our new airport location.

Yelp
Update on this review, which comes with pictures attached which speak for themselves. I have tried to address these issues with Marriott and the property and - zero resolution. Please avoid this property until the property itself and Marriott attempt to remedy the issues at hand. Not acceptable. FOLLOW UP: note that Marriott has now finally posted the generic reply to most negative reviews of this property with a form email. I had already emailed this address and have been offered a token amount of Marriott points which in no way compensate me for what has occurred here, as documented by these photos. If you're reading this review and are a potential guest considering this property for a vacation, please don't confuse the fact that Marriott posted their generic response (finally) with this matter getting resolved. Marriott has not yet made any serious attempts to resolve the issues presented here.

Yelp
I wrote a review 9 years ago (please read), and my review has not changed. I come here every year and love my stay every time. I feel like this is my home away from home. The staff continue to be excellent, friendly, and want to please. Mahalo. I will be back.

Yelp
The room we have is 1 BR with full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room with sofa bed and has a patio. They have 3 BBQ areas with spotlights on trees and between grills so it's easier to BBQ even late at night. They have many pools to choose from like kids area, quiet relaxation pool, activity pools where water aerobics takes place every morning, pool with falls and hot tubs. The staff are all very nice and helpful.

Yelp
We were recently here for a day, hanging out with family who were staying, and also family whi have a time share. We stopped in to have lunch with everyone, chill by the pool, and then dinner. It was tons of fun! Our kiddos had an amazing time in the multiple pools, and then watching mommy & Daddy go down the slide multiple times too! All of the staff we interacted with were amazing from the valet, to the staff at Longboard's Bar & Grill, and those by the pool too! Can't wait to have our own staycation here on our own too!

Yelp
What an amazing spot for a vacation! Lovely ocean views, great restaurant options, plenty of scheduled activities, comfortable rooms, and the list goes on. The only slight negative is their distance from Honolulu and Waikiki. But, if you want to get away from the noise and bustle of the city, this will do it!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is paradise on earth! The area has everything you need for a relaxing and refreshed vacation! I also feel safe while exploring the property and nearby stores. Cannot wait for my next visit!

Yelp
This is my second year coming here and I love it. They have water aerobics and tons of activities. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I really loved playing blackjack in the pool. That was a highlight. When you participate in games, you win freebies. We won, an umbrella on the beach and we had such a great beach day. I highly recommend spending some time by the pool at the ocean and visiting their restaurants.

Yelp
Great resort, nice sized rooms with overall friendly service. Our 7nts stay here was very good with plenty to do in and around the resort: beach lagoon, Pool, water slide, spa, Long broad eatery, spa and just plain lounging around... all providing a very nice relaxing and comfortable environment. Our 2-bedroom suite was also very clean upon arrival with plenty of towels and supplies stocked. However, we were disappointed (and hence the 1-star off) with the mid-week cleaning service... where we found that housekeeping did a very lackluster job at best... they simply changed out towels and restocked supplies. The place has not been cleaned. The resort is in Ko Olina - so think 1hr drive to Waikiki. So if you're looking for a vacation in the middle of hustling & bustling Waikiki - this is not it. This would be a nice relaxing spot for family time.

Yelp
Horrible service with the pool/beach staff. Ordered beverages which have taken over a hour and a half. The server came around to see if we needed anything? Yes the original order place 90 min. Prior. Really bad service for a high end property.

Yelp
Great resort with private beach. Very accommodating staff. They have a really fun water slide my kids loved during our stay.

Yelp
Amazing staycation. Pools are very family friendly. You have a couple choice of places to eat on property. Very clean and well taken care of property grounds.

Yelp
This place is very relaxing. They have everything you need. As beautiful this place is a lot people don't see what's happening early in the morning. I have sat and relaxed on a chair and I have watched two employees care for the kids pool. They have not said one word to each other just worked to make it great. Sifting through the sand on the shore cleaning it to be the best area. I don't have little ones but if I did I would feel comfortable know they have a safe place to enjoy. Staff overall is amazing. Food is great and at a price you would expect in Hawaii. Rooms are outstanding! Everything you need for a family or romantic getaway

Yelp
We visit every July Ko Olina! The pools are amazing for adults and kids. Shaved ice is a must on the property. Some of the pools get extremely crowded by 9 am. The staff every year seems to be the same. It's nice to play the kid activities so little ones can enjoy time out of the pools. By far Ko Olina and Maui are the resorts that offer the most for family fun time for us.

Yelp
we left this hotel on night one. after waiting 4 hours to check in late to the hotel after booking an ocean view that was unavailable. This hotel bait and switched us gave us the runaround for 2 hours then management actually laughed in our faces. When we finally were able to check in our FILTHY and DISGUSTING room we were supposed to have for 5 days it was horrif I will show pictures. Our ocean view room looked at a wall. Why would you make me pay for ocean view. This places ruined the first night of our vacation. This property is old, moldy, and I wouldn't doubt has bacteria and mold in all the HVAC. Our room looked like. 1994 extended stay in on the roadside. It was awful. I cannot believe that this is a Marriott property. We decided after seeing hair in the shower stubble and overall filth to cut our losses. Please don't stay here your time is not worth it. We went online and booked another hotel to salvage our trip! Very happy about that decision!

Yelp
Would love to give this less th five stars. Even though I had one of the worst positioned rooms on the property overlooking the harbor, and the parking lot, that was because I agreed to listen to a timeshare presentation. I let them know that they didn't put their best foot forward by putting me there, but I also understand the owners have the best rooms. Anyway, the restaurant was top-notch and great views! The longboard is basically the pool side restaurant, and the food there above average. You can get things like burgers and nachos. Plus your drinks. My only real issue was if I attempted to park my car after 9 PM. Most things shut down at 9 PM in this area which means people are back at the resort. Simply take your car to the valet and they will take care of it for you. You have your own lagoon and three pools so really don't need to visit any of the other beaches such as Aulani. The personnel are friendly, and this resort basically does not have all of the loud noise a.k.a. kids since the Disney resort is where they would want to be.

Yelp
The Marriott resort itself was adequate, good amenities and strong pool vibes. What my family were quite disappointed about is the harassment the sales team pursues to push you to purchase additional interests (or first time interests) in timeshares. No joke, the week leading up to our star Paula from sales called three times a day pushing to speak to us about something 'urgent' which was only to sell us on a timeshare. Then, once here, they called once a day to come to a 'presentation' which we refused and she did not get the hint - but instead continued to call. After we blocked her on our cell phones, she called the room and woke up our two year olds during nap time. If that's not sales harassment I don't know what is... Quite a sour taste given the balance of the stay didn't warrant that rating.

Yelp
THIS REVIEW is for room decor only: When we bought our time-share at MVC we knew the minute we walked into our room that we were in Hawaii. The Hawaiian decor was beautiful. Now the decor has more of a modern, cold, forensic feel. For instance, the dining room table looks like white Formica from the 80s. Very disappointing. That said, the view is as beautiful as ever.

Yelp
Enjoyed another week here at the MVC Ko Olina Beach Club with the extended family (10 in all). As always - clean, comfortable, well kept, pleasant staff, good general activities, excellent location and of course relaxing. it had been about 5.5 years since we last visited ... we need to get back much sooner next time.

Yelp
When we got to the hotel, front desk was so patient helping us. She's nice and very helpful. She even say "ohh nice you're staying in a nice room". After that she mentioned that our room wasn't ready. We patiently waited and she called someone to check if our room is ready. And finally she told us that we're good to go. After she checked us in, we went to our room and I checked everywhere and first thing I saw the bed sheet was messy it wasn't change, sheet smells disgusting, had men's brief in the bathroom and dirty towels in the tub. My husband called front desk and the lady that he talked to offered her a FREE SNACK, and if we can just stay in the room and they will clean it up. We were so tired, we checked in at 9pm and room wasn't ready? You gotta be kidding me. If you're a marriot Bonvoy member at least room is nice and clean. Won't come to this hotel AGAIN!!!!

Yelp
This is a beautiful resort and the staff are lovely. However if you are looking for a peaceful retreat, this is not it. The gardeners start at 6 AM with their machines. There are a lot of children and families, which is not a problem, but they don't seem to enforce the quiet pool rules, so there really is no adult only section. As lastly, we are in the flight path for the Honolulu airport. Planes are flying overhead every four minutes most of the day. As much as I like almost every other aspect of this place, the noise pollution kills it for me

Yelp
Oh man, just got back from five nights here and this spot is beyond five stars. From the Macadamia pancakes at Longhi's in the morning, the ease of booking a beachside cabana, the impeccable maintenance of the grass, pools, and entire property, the cleanliness of the rooms, the three Peloton bikes in the gym, the mask-wearing and vaccination mandates.... I could stay here for weeks, years. Total perfection. Would not stay anywhere else in Oahu. Tucked away in Ko Olina at this resort is the dream and I'm so thankful we were able to stay here. 5 stars!!!!

Yelp
Did a staycation over the weekend. If you're a Marriott elite Platinum or higher don't expect any perks. Rooms are old and dated. Food options are awful, I wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
Update to my stolen ring. After leaving Hawaii we received a call 6 days later saying my ring was found in a parking garage? Also note that my ring is inscribed inside the band. ( whoever took it must have realized it's not valuable with a inscription. My ring was sent back to me in a evidence bag. Which seems a little strange. We were not treated well in the end by this resort and due to the managements behavior of not being honest, be aware of your valuables and surroundings!

Yelp
Stayed for a few days here on a family rate. First of all, I am from Makakilo so Ko'olina is my go to place! I frequent lagoon 3, the bar, Longis and the marketplace! And always awesome! As a guest, well this one bedroom villa is just beyond expectations! It is about 1200sf from what I understand and just wow! I have stayed at Aulani one bedroom suite, and it doesn't compare. My last stay at Aulani was about 6 months ago, and considering they are a newer resort I was surprised at how dated it was, with broken items. Now when comparing to this 1br, I am just baffled how this could be so much nicer! I can tell you, Marriott ownership is something I am contemplating. And have been. I have a tour set up for the Vegas facility in January and honestly after coming here I feel like I wish my tour was at this facility. Everyone is always so nice all around the hotel. The service is great anywhere you go on the resort. I only stayed a few days so I opted to enjoy the room, maybe a little bit of walking around, and enjoy the balcony, view and room amenities. It was a Great little get away. The room is equipped with a full kitchen and not a normal size kitchen, a very large kitchen. There is a little office space for you to work. There is a separate area for the bathtub in the shower. Almost as if there were two separate bathrooms. The balcony is big with ample furniture to sit and relax. The living room is huge. It is one of the biggest one bedroom apartment Style hotel rooms I have ever been in. There's a full washer and dryer, a coffee maker, a hot water maker, a microwave, full stove, kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils.... This is a beautiful resort! The photos don't do it justice!! I would highly recommend it and recommend looking into Marriott Vacation Club ownership!!

Yelp
Marriott Beach Villas at Ko Olina BIG NIGHTMARE -- long review yet reading may save your life (I know it sounds melodramatic yet you will soon see it may not be!) The resort was gorgeous and the rooms were spacious and lovely. The problem was that the pool area with waterfalls by Bldg 3 are notorious for causing falls and I was only one of the victims! While waiting for our room to be readied, my family went to the pool area, as the grandchildren wanted to swim. Unbeknownst to me, my daughter-in-law slipped on the smooth slate pavers before she got to me, yet my son was able to catch her before she hit the stone surface. My 6 year old granddaughter also fell on the slick surface, not once, but twice!!! I had navigated to the chair by the pool without incident earlier, yet when I got up to join my family in the chairs behind me, I felt like my legs were swept from under me -- as if I was on an ice-skating rink -- and I fell down VERY hard, hitting my head in the process! My family rushed over to me, seeing the whole incident and helped me up. My right knee was bent forcing my ankle and lower leg to be pinned under me; my left wrist was throbbing with pain, apparently in my attempt to catch myself. A waitress came over to see if I was OK and sent a Safety Rep to fill out an incident report, which the many witnesses augmented with their view of the accident. Believing I only had sprains, I immediately stopped by the front desk on the way to my room to ice my sprains and raise my leg and reported that my daughter, grandchild and myself had fallen on this very slippery area and they needed to put a sign up -- they had a few up around the hotel yet none at the most dangerous spot. I could write a short story re: what happened next yet suffice it to say that I warned everyone I saw over the next 5 days to watch the area by this pool and went down to the front desks at least 4 times to report that others told me they had either slipped themselves or watched others slip -- one a little boy. All in all there were 7 guests during 5 days who had reported falling/or witnessing a fall to me by the time I left the resort 6 days later. Nothing was done! I spent my vacation in my room with leg elevated with ice packs on my wrist and ankle -- a Netflix marathon! As I was not improving, 4 days after the injury, I went to the front desk and the clerk said they had no first aide at the hotel and texted me a list of urgent care centers. I spent the next 5 hours with my husband at her recommended one before learning I had a broken wrist and avulsion ankle fracture The clerk apparently mentioned her referral to Safety because the next evening he showed up at my door saying no incident report was on file (yet later found the original which only stated I fell) and he yelled at me for going to urgent care without notifying him. I told him I went to the front desk. When asked why the hotel had failed to take steps to stop the falls, he replied they couldn't --"It is our busy season." He also made me prove that I got the list of urgent care from the desk by demanding I forward the text to him. NOW I am ANGRY! From their lack of action, they apparently don't care about people falling near the pool and were made aware of the danger several times by me alone!!! They are obviously not going to do anything about it unless the victims band together and sue them, making an impact on them! If you fell at this resort by the pool with the waterfalls, please contact me with dates and an email. I will forward to an attorney to handle. Someone could easily hit their head resulting in death, if they haven't already. Marriott has tangled with the wrong person, despite my Sr Citizen age. I have worked for Northrop Grumman creating and maintaining their web site up until a few years ago and I am launching a web site where I can locate other victims and where they can get in touch with me: oahu-marriott-timeshare-deathtrap.com or oahu-marriott-hotel-deathtrap.com Let us prevent future injuries due to negligence!

Yelp
You could actually enforce there pool chair rules. There are people at the pool before seven every day. Why is there no why to get around Ko Olina any more. Sorry this place was better before Covid.

Yelp
First off, I have never been to a real deal holyfield resort RESORT. We drove into ko olina and made our way to the Marriott entrance where we were greeted at a podium by an attendant who asked what name our reservation was under. He found it and told me he would alert the front desk of our arrival. We parked and I got out of the car and a staff was walking to greet me! He walked me in and we made small talk until the check-in desk was ready for me. You're given a ton of cards- room key cards, parking card, and pool towel cards... along with rubber wristbands to wear in order to use the pool. Check-in was a breeze. Our room was on the top floor, which I loved bc hearing people walking above me is a pet peeve of mine. There was also a complimentary laundry room! Under the kitchen sink were all the supplies you'd need, along with laundry detergent! The ac was strong, ceilings were vaulted, and the beds were the same old comfortable Marriott beds I've come to know and love. The grounds were beautiful, as were the pool areas. The sauna is located in the restrooms near the pool, next to the towel hut. The gym had almost all machines one would need, they had water refill stations in a couple of spots throughout the resort, it was steps to lagoon 3, and I think what I loved the most was that they had group exercise classes each morning and activities to participate in throughout the day! We only stayed a couple of nights but I did manage to make it to their island dance fit class, which is pretty much hot hula. Class was taught on the grass at 8am and was so lovely to be outside facing the ocean. Another night, they had a movie playing on a projector on the lawn- very family friendly. In vegas and many other places, we're always charged a "resort fee" to use a crappy pool, but this was def resort style. Would I be back? No. Lol. The lagoons are too calm for my kids. We tried to visit the beaches in Waianae and Makaha, but the traffic happened to be pretty ridiculous heading west during the week of the 4th of July. Visiting the ko olina lagoons has always been difficult for us in the past as parking is really limited, however, if you have family or friends that want to visit, you can register them as a guest and pay 20 bucks for them to park at the Marriott... they say that they wouldn't be allowed to use the pool, but no one really checks for pool bands anyway.
