How to Protect Yourself From Vacation Rental Scams

"A seemingly ideal five-bedroom, five-bath ski chalet advertised with panoramic views, a wood-burning fireplace and an outdoor deck with a hot tub that turned out to be a bogus Craigslist posting; the renter corresponded with a man calling himself Thomas, matched via public records to the property deed holder, and wired installments totaling $20,000. Over months of communication — including frequent check-ins while the renter underwent cancer treatment — the fraudster later claimed someone had died of COVID-19 in the house and demanded an additional $14,000 for cleaning (asking for $8,000 immediately), at which point the renter realized she had been scammed. She traced the photos and listing details to another legitimate property and located the actual owner, who had no knowledge of the scheme; law enforcement advised continued correspondence to gather evidence, but the scammer eventually stopped replying and the funds were not recovered. The experience left the renter citing the emotional sense of personal violation as worse than the financial loss." - Eric Rosen Eric Rosen Eric Rosen is a Los Angeles-based journalist with a focus on luxury travel, loyalty programs, food, and wine. Very nice place with roomy rooms and attentive staff. Sadly the pool and many of the hot tubs were closed for pre ski season maintenance for the week. That makes for some crowded remaining tubs. Parking lot spaces are small as noted by others. Rent a smaller suv if visiting. A full size is gonna be tough to park. Great fitness center and activities center on site. We came just after Thanksgiving to take a break. The location is optimal during ski season as well as in the dryer months.

Mountain view’s and great resort amenities, near a highly visited area make for a great vacation. The units have everything you need to be self sufficient and relax. The pool area is large and has several hot tubs to enjoy. A trolley near by will take you to the town of Park City with many restaurant and entertainment choices. Nature is steps away here.

Google
The Perfect Ski-In/Ski-Out Spot for Families This resort is an absolute gem! You simply cannot beat the location—it is a true ski-in/ski-out experience right at the base of Park City Mountain. Getting on the PayDay lift literally took just a few steps from the heated pool deck area. The complimentary ski valet and storage made the entire process completely hassle-free. We stayed in a villa and loved having the extra space, the resort is just a short, easy walk to Main Street for dinner and shopping.

Stayed here twice in November 2025 in the off season. Pros - Steam and dry sauna in the fitness center is open 24/7 Free laundry machines and soap Heated outdoor smoking area by garage BBQs and open fires for s’mores Cons - Parking is $25 You may have a screaming child in the room next to you. Checkout is 10am. They called us when we were 15 minutes late. Turned a great stay into a total hassle, which I didn’t expect especially when we have status with Marriott. Your Marriott status doesn’t get you anything here.

My husband and I had an exceptionally great experience at our second visit to this Marriott, especially due to the activity center and staff at The Mine. Demetri, Kylie, Molly, and Bryce are all such wonderful members that deserve recognition for their efforts in creating a fun and joyful atmosphere! We may have missed a couple of names, but everyone we interacted with was so kind and enthusiastic. While we enjoy exploring the mountains, we also love that this resort has many amenities for stay-in days and activities for kiddos and adults. I’ve yet to find anywhere that beats the hot tubs especially! We’ll definitely be back again, hopefully for the wintertime!

Google
We had a great time at the Marriott Mountainside in Park City. The resort has tons of activities to keep you busy if you want. The amenities are plentiful with great pools and spas along with beautiful views of the mountains. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great proximity to historic downtown. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
We are summertime, not ski season, visitors. And a half hour accommodations were very spacious and well equipped. The view, however, was literally of rocks and boulders, not the city view that we requested or Poole or Mountain View. We got no view and Were told that they were fully booked and it was due to the fact that we arrived three days after our reservation started, despite the fact that they were kept informed of our late arrival. Our unit was left away an earlier, arriving guest, and we got what was left The other issue is parking. Simply stated and admitted by the front desk, they do not have enough parking for all their guests. So when they’re underground lot is full, you have to walk down the hill and over to a public lot. For seniors like us With more restricted mobility issues, this was problematic. So in order to not lose our parking place and risk that hazardous walk again, we took the public shuttle to Main St., Park city. We moved over to Marriott’s other Park city timeshare, Summit watch, after four days. For us, it was much more convenient and enjoyable.

Google
Mountainside is a great place to stay for a family. Or anyone. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo for 5 of us--4 adults and one active 6 year old. Very comfortable. The pool and hot tubs are great. There are 5 hot tubs! "The Mine", the activity center has at least a couple of activities for children each day and there is a movie theater showing movies throughout the day. As our family flew in to meet us, it was only about a 35 minute drive to pick them up at Salt Lake City airport. Very convenient. There are plenty of hiking trails near the resort. You can walk into town or ride the bus. All very convenient!

Yelp
Always a pleasure enjoying a staycation at the Marriott Mountainside. It's gorgeous and scenic year round, but soaking in their glorious hot tubs under snowfall has to be one of the most magical experiences! Conveniently located right on the slopes, it's a ride-in ride-out sort of hotel with spacious suites and great amenities.

Yelp
Do not buy a timeshare! Week 42 a very DEAD week for Park City. Many locations closed nearby and in town. ADA suite for the week on Interval exchange. Nice room, mtn view, but with very basic amenities. Marriott has taken away a free rom refresh for your 7 day stay, now charging fee. They want you to bag the trash and take to dumpster, gather the towels and make sure you wash the dishes. TV channel selection is poorer in All Marriott's now. Very tight underground parking spots in dark poorly lighted garage. Five hot tugs with some jets not working and cool for our taste. Can be hot for kiddos? Heated pool but we never used due to outside temps. Pool towels in room for reuse during your stay. Saddy a disappointing Marriott stay but finding this to be their new norm. Staff was friendly but never excelled like in the past limited activities for the occupancy in our opinion.

Yelp
This was the first time visiting Park City, Utah! The Marriott's Mountainside Resort is a nice place! There are a lot of amenities for families, like a swimming pool, hot tubs, pool table, table tennis, name that tune, etc. Convenient underground parking, but if that lot is full, they have another lot to park in for overflow and oversized vehicles just a short walk down the hill. Rooms are nice, and depending on your room, they have a king-size or queen-size bed, full bathtub, and kitchen. Convenient location at the base of Park City and close to Historic Main Street.

Yelp
This resort is in a great mountain getaway location. It is situated at the base of a Park City, UT, ski resort and only a few minutes walk from Main Street with bars, restaurants, and stores. The views are amazing , especially in the fall with all the Mountain Maple trees changing colors. The timeshare condo units are spacious and well maintained. Our two bedroom unit had a very comfortable king size bed in the main bedroom, a large living room with high ceilings and a generous kitchen and dining area. We took advantage of the available hot tubs near the pool. The waterfall features and night lighting added to the ambiance. Overall we had a comfortable stay in a beautiful location!

Wasatch Reviewer R.

Yelp
This is a typical Marriott Vacation Club Hotel. We've stayed here more than three times over the years since it opened before the 2002 Olympics. Rooms are nice, staff is helpful, and the location is perfect if you're looking to be at the bottom of Park City Mountain Resort. Familes will have plenty to do for every age. The best part of the hotel is the location. If you want to go to Main Street you'll need to catch a short ride or be willing to walk for 20 minutes. Good hotel, nothing over the top. Go in the expectations set properly and you'll be pleased.

Yelp
We would definitely come back. We had a fantastic view in a room overlooking all the fun stuff and the pool. 7623. This hotel has so much for kids to do, so naturally there were a ton of kids there. Pool and spas are great, restaurant selection in the summer was pretty poor if you wanted to walk. No biggie, we drove over to prospecter area or Main Street to eat. Attended a very low key Marriott sales presentation and nailed a $250 Visa card. The hotel room is very functional and spacious. I was working from Home for a week there. Lots of room, but the kitchen chairs are not back friendly. Would love to come back in the fall when there are less kids.

Yelp
Love this resort! We had a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 2 kitchen suite and it was huge!! More than enough room for our family. The pool is heated to the perfect temperature, and the hot tubs are lovely. Sitting by the fire after swimming is the perfect vibe. The activities they have planned are pretty great too. Movie theatre is simple but the kids love it. Staff is friendly.

Yelp
Stayed during off season in late September but it's so beautiful! All the trees are changing colors to reds and orange! It looks fake it's so pretty! I can't wait to come visit in winter! Big rooms-beautiful views and ski from hotel to lift!

Yelp
Loved staying at the Marriott Mountainside, mainly due to it's FABULOUS location right smack in the middle of the Park Mountain fun. We were walking distance to the lifts, the coaster, the slide and so much more. There are cute eateries all around (some closed due to the summer season). The free bus stops just in front and took us to Main Street for shopping and dinners. We stayed in a King room which was quite ample with a kitchenette and barstools. The bathroom was TINY! We made it work, but the door barely clears the toilet. The resort does not have a restaurant or bar, but it does have a lot of hot tubs and a huge heated pool. There's a little "market" in the lobby with some microwavable foods and a fridge with various beverages to purchase.

Yelp
We loved staying here. The heated pool and hot tubs were so cool and a perfect contrast to the cooler temperatures outside. We loved the clean workout room and all the games on floor 2. The rooms are insanely spacious and there is lots of room to spread out. We booked our stay through VRBO and went during the off season so it was cheaper than normal but not much of the amenities of park city were open like the slide or the ski lift but there was still plenty to do! Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back another time. P.S. they have standard hotel blankets but I would bring your own blanket from home for more comfort!:)

Yelp
This review is specifically for their Marriott Encore promotion. If you aren't an owner, they offer you a sweet deal like 5 days / 4 nights for $599 in the high season, but they make you pay for it before leaving the hotel because it's such a good deal - also nonrefundable. However, you cannot book the dates you want until a few months later which they say is 9 months before your intended stay. To ensure I get my targeted dates I put it on my calendar so I won't forget. I call 9 months ahead and the dates are not available yet. Call again a month later and I get the same story. I ask if they can let me know when the dates are available and they say no and I'll need to just call back. I just called back and the dates are all taken and the entire winter season is not available. To be honest, I thought it was a great deal and would have considered purchasing one of their products. I am genuinely surprised they would treat a potential customer with such contempt. All the salespeople smile big and convey an easy go lucky mountain town vibe, but they are just empty suits with a blatant disregard for the customers they are trying to sell. I guess I should have seen this coming when dealing with a timeshare property. Shame on me.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights. Here to ski but wanted the luxury of staying on the slope. We showed up early just to drop our bags and they asked us to wait 30 minutes they might have a room ready. They said they'd get us the best room possible. (They recommended against the mountainside view because the pool is currently closed and construction is going on) after about 3 hours we went back to the front desk and they didn't have a room yet but pulled something together. The first room we went to smelled like it had been smoked in. It was not subtle or masked. Just cigarette musk. So we called and asked to move rooms. This process took about an hour so we weren't in our room until about 5pm. This concern was only responded to with an apology. No attempt to display quality customer service. That night the room never fully cooled off. It seems the ac system does not function properly or is out dated or has not been serviced. Our last concern was related to the closed pool. When we check in the front desk said "we have a shuttle to our other location and they have a pool there". So we took an uber to town and had dinner, then once we finished we were right down the street from the other Marriott. We decided to go in and request the shuttle. When the driver came and picked us up he asked "were you swimming" to which we said "no" He than proceeded to try to guilt us for using a shuttle that was apparently only meant for people swimming at the other locations pool. We explained that the front desk did not inform us of this. He continued to tell us how it wasn't in budget for the hotel. Anyways... the activities are on point. The hot tubs are nice. The location is why we booked it. But Marriott can do better. Especially for a vacation (timeshare) location. I would hate to be an owner spending thousands of dollars each year just to have that experience. Hopefully they get the red carpet rolled out. But if you are a normal guest, don't get your hopes up. We also stayed at Hilton in canyon's village during this trip. 10/10. They know customer service. Marriott mountainside needs to take notes.

Yelp
Our family decided to do a little staycation a few weeks back so we got a villa up at the mountainside and spent a few days up there. Our family has had a timeshare there for a long time but we usually trade the week out for somewhere else. Since I hadn't been here in a while I was anxious to see how the property was. We had a two bedroom suite. Plenty of room and beds were comfortable and stuff. Our first room had pet hair all over, so we asked the front desk if we could move somewhere else and they accommodated us quickly. Hats off to them having good service. They don't allow dogs so it must have been a service animal or something. We spent a lot of time in the hot tubs, which in my opinion is the best part of the hotel. Cascading waterfalls and views of the ski runs. I feel like some of the hot tubs could have been a bit hotter and they could have been skimmed and cleaned a bit more but still very enjoyable. With the location and the amenities, I don't think you could go wrong with the mountainside. Is it the nicest vacation club I've stayed at? No. But very solid.

Cathy S.

Yelp
We enjoy time at Mountainside. Pool staff was great. It is clean and well kept. The parking area is tight. Our car sours t fit in the parking spots and you have to get out of the car so the driver can pull in.

Yelp
Nice stay at Mountainside. Since we aren't skiers and we're here off season it was a nice central area to explore trails, lakes and waterfalls. The resort could use an update (carpet/decor) but it was clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had an adjoined room with babies screaming our first night and they moved us the next day. Dillon,Liam and Emily were helpful at the front desk with this process. Amanda in concierge was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and took the time to explain the area and provided maps of day trips. Pool are has a great view of the slopes and the hot tub areas are comfortable. We, like another reviewer with there were more higher quality restaurants/breakfast options in walking distance. We walked or used the complimentary (and friendly) bus system to go to Main Street to eat each night (Handle, Fletchers and No Name Saloon).

Yelp
We had a fun stay at the Marriott mountain side! The rooms were nice for sure but slightly old feeling. The door in the bathroom had water damage and some small things like that... but for the most part it was clean and there was a nice kitchenette area, TV, extra couch bed and even a humidifier which I thought was a nice extra touch for the dry winter months in Utah. The customer service was not our favorite, but ok. we loved the location - literally right on the slopes and the hot tubs were AWESOME! There's like 6 of them and they have a cool waterfall system between them - it's really fun. Anyways, the hot tubs and pools are reservation only during covid. No activities but they have some activities you can buy for kids and bring back to your room.

Rachel S.

Yelp
We just returned home from a fun filled & relaxing week away at the Marriott Mountainside. Everyone was extremely kind & accommodating! Don't worry about bringing extras for your stay, they brought us a griddle & said they had other extras for the kitchen if needed. We never felt like a burden when we had a question or needed some assistance. The view was gorgeous & there was SO much to do! You'd seriously never even need to leave the resort if you didn't want to. They've thought of it all! We met so many nice people & Jayden in the activity center (The Mine) was SO kind & helpful! Truly went above & beyond. This was our 1st time staying there & we'd definitely return! To be honest my only complaints would be that the couch & living room chair were very firm & seemed more for looks than comfort. Thanks for everything Marriott Mountainside! Rachel S. Room 7929

Debbie W.

Yelp
A great ski in ski out location. With on-site equipment rental, ski storage and locker rooms they make it very convenient for skiers. It is very family friendly. My only gripe is that there are no good restaurants for breakfast lunch or dinner within walking distance. There are a few choices but none of them are good. When you're spending the money to stay at a great resort like this you want to be able to walk to restaurants that provide food and service at a comparable level of excellence as the amenities of the resort.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to "get away" from the traffic and daily grind of the valley and road construction that never ends in Utah. The resort is beautiful...tucked up next the mountains with beautiful walks and hikes and next to the Park City Mountain Resort. The pool area is amazing... with several jacuzzi's at various temperatures and fire pits and lots of seating. The service here is impressive and the views are priceless!! Come up and enjoy a weekend...or a week!! Fall is the most amazing time of year to enjoy this amazing resort

George M.

Yelp
Excellent location for skiing, definitely ski in and out. Right off the Payday lift.Ski valet in-house! Just a short walk from the trail access. They have some nice family night type events like a chili night and a hot dog and brats nights. Cookies in the lobby after skiing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The front lobby exits to a plaza where there are several ski shops and food and drink emporiums. The rooms are clean and neat and a good size even the smaller rooms have mini kitchens with refrigerators. There is underground parking with lots of spaces, however they are very tight due to supports and such. But manageable if you have a mid size car or suv it will fit better. All in all Marriot Mountainside is a great place to spend a ski week.

Thomas M.

Yelp
I got woken by a 9AM marketing call from the front desk asking if I want to buy into their timeshare program. Leave me alone. I drove all night and want to sleep. Also this place has a draconian 10am checkout. I've never heard of a checkout before 11am. Most modern chains are 12pm. No extras for Marriott gold elite status or whatever since this is such a "special" hotel. Avoid.
google avatar

Malley D.

Yelp
First time in Park City, and we got a room with a pull-out for three of us. The front desk staff was so helpful, they even gave us maps to get to the snowshoe trail that you can access on the property! Our room was just gorgeous, with a view of the slopes and the fresh snow. We had a little mini kitchen which was nice, and the coffee provided in the room is all Starbucks. We used the fitness center while there, and it was the best one I've ever seen in a hotel! Kudos on keeping the Swiss balls full and the equipment in great condition. The locker room was like a spa and had all the amenities you could want, which was really nice for us after a day of snow sports when we'd already checked out. We were able to shower, use the sauna, and store our stuff. The only downside here was that the concierge was useless. She told us super wrong information one of the times, and kept trying to sell us timeshares. Pretty sure that's not how concierges are supposed to work.. Anyway, overall excellent experience and can't wait to stay here again next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Yelp
This place sucks they charge over 800 a night and it's after 5 pm and our room isn't ready we climbed a mountain with our luggage and had to sit sweating in their stupid lobby staff also very unhelpful. NOT WORTH THE MONEY I really think a fancy hotel should be more on the ball
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great time with this hotel! Came in mid week of June and enjoyed the summer adventure right next door. They had kids obstacle course, ziplines, mountain biking, alpine slides/coasters and hikes. Room has a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We had a king bed room which comes with a sofa, windows opens a little for some air to come in, which is nice. A little dated but but its not too bad. Amenities are a huge plus! They have a game room, 3 jacuzzis, a grand pool, a nice gym and some fire pits. Parking is limited at the hotel itself but they have a shuttle that takes you to their adjacent parking. Check in/out was a breeze, staff at that time were helpful and informative.

Yelp
Initially I thought we were at the wrong vacation club, that we would want to be at the one in town. Nope. This is the one you want. There are 6 hot tubs, and a large sunny pool. There is a back elevator that takes you right to them and to the guy so you don't have to prance around through the lobby in your suit or leggings. Decent amount of activities. Not many restaurant but there is a free bus to take you into town (no parking fees) and then you can have a glass of wine or two! We'll be back. This worked out and was in my estimation better than the Tahoe property.

Janice B.

Yelp
We are here for the 18th year! When I first started dating my husband he brought me here and asked me what I thought about purchasing a timeshare at this property. I encouraged him to do it and we have never regretted it. Sometimes we bring relatives or friends and sometimes we come twice to take advantage of the lock off. This is a beautiful resort with everything you need.
google avatar

Julien P.

Yelp
Not worth it at all. Ok you're near the ski runs but no food on premise, no way to get breakfast anywhere before 8am. This area of Park city is dead after ski hours. For dinner or breakfast, you need to drive to Main Street or downtown Park City. Also room are not sound proof.

Ray P.

Yelp
The property looks very clean and the lobby has a vintage appearance when you walk in which is nice. The front desk was average but concierge non existent. The hallway reminded me of the movie The Shining. Pool table and ping pong area was great. My kids had lots of fun. The swimming pool and spa was amazing. The mountainside activities were beyond amazing. The one thing that I was not happy about is our window view. We've been to other Marriott vacation club properties and so far they have been nice enough to grant our request but not here. I think have an idea why but rather not say it. Even though we saw empty rooms available with mountainside view. I was planning to attend the presentation but since they did not grant my request why would I. I already invested 60k present value to Marriott timeshare and they expect me to purchase more share but can't even grant a simple request. I just wanted a view of the mountainside. Over all park city Utah is stunningly beautiful. I would buy a house there if I could.

Yelp
We stayed for a week at Marriott Mountainside The only low light was check-in. The check-in staff was grumpy as heck that I had to say - It will be easier to check me in if you put a smile on that face. The other staff members were stellar. We enjoyed out two bedroom condo with nice kitchen and livingroom. Bed was comfy. Parking was fine, but since we came in at 2 a.m. twice, we had to ask for help on where to park. All worked out fine. We liked the swimming pool and outdoor fireplace. We watched movies at the movie room. We also liked making s'mores. We liked the jazz band and make your sausage over the fireplace night. Overall the place has a lot of fun activities. This is a nice place to stay in Park City.
google avatar

Yelp
Activities desk much better today. A very decent young man was manning the desk. He was there before 0700 and ran the position like it should be. Kudos! Management finally did something right!

Yelp
1st, great location and very pretty property! Comfortable beds and I appreciated a late check out accommodation. The reason for 3 stars: Big 1: about 1:00am my husband work up to an allergic reaction to something on the blanket we pulled from the closet. I asked the front desk if they had Benadryl after explaining the situation. He said yes, I could BUY it in the marketplace in the lobby. I went down to purchase and asked if he had a small water bottle for the pill. He said no, again you need to purchase a drink. I was very taken back that he did not any help on the items as part of our stay considering the situation was due to the hotels provided bedding. 2) No continental breakfast, while many others hotel offer at least some fruit and cereal. Nothing open early near the resort 3) Dead area any time other than winter it seems
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Any hotel or resort that keeps saying that they've "improved their cleaning services" is always a lie. Stains are on the beds, hairs are all over the beds and in the shower, and the carpet seems like it hasn't been vacuumed or cleaned. This is a great place but it's a shame that their services have really gone downhill. I do like that they have reservations for the spas. It may seem inconvenient at times but it's nice to know that you have a spa to yourself and your family.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
I love this place but all of the kids in the areas like the pool are way to out of hand, it's very annoying and I couldn't get any rest at all when tanning. However staff were very friendly and the resort is very clean and nice.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
So many kids that can't find their parents. So many kids in the hot tub. Hot tubs are closed right now due to - I'm not sure. . Where is the parents responsibility?
google avatar

Yelp
A beautiful resort with many fun activities for individuals and families. There are fantastic hot tubs and pools with lots of fire pits and bbqs nearby. They have lots of activities. It is right next to skiing and the alpine slide. Definitely a great place to stay!!

Yelp
STAY HERE!! Literally every single person who works here was so nice and welcoming. Our 5 day stay was nothing short of amazing. Every time we passed through the lobby, we would get a good morning, welcome in, have a good day etc. The rooms were SO clean. I usually get the creeps from hotels because I find something gross. Not this place! The fireplace in our room was such a nice touch. The ski slopes are literally right next to the hotel. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary here and the hotel sent a bottle of wine. How sweet, right!!?

Yelp
*Checking In - Checking in was great! Aida was very friendly, helpful and informative (more than their concierge!) in helping describe the property and area to us. Check in was relatively efficient and enjoyable, as it didn't take long, but took the right amount of time to explain what we needed to know. *Room - The room was very unimpressive and too small. Fortunately we were only there for 2 nights, but the luggage we had (as we were headed to another place for a week after these 2 nights), seemed to take up any common space left available. The bathroom was so small, that the door barely clears the toilet when swinging open and it was really cramped as well. *Bed - The bed was comfy and clean. It definitely offered a nice, relaxing sleep. *Common Areas/Pools - This property seems to offer a LOT that caters to family, which (despite my issues with too many kids running around) is a nice thing. It's great to find a nice family-oriented resort, but parents and property staff must work together to ensure the kids don't infringe on other guests and their ability to relax and enjoy the property's amenities together. The hot tubs were nicely done, as they escalated up a hill and seemed to flow from one into the other; I believe there were four of them. Not sure if the pool was heated, but it looked to be and I saw people swimming in it, even though it was very cold out on our visit. The landscaping was very nicely done and overall upkeep of the common areas was nice. *Gym - The gym was one of the best Marriott gyms I've been in... plenty of nice, new machines in good working order. Lots of equipment to work nearly every body part. Plenty of dumbbells and a nice yoga area as well. Restrooms/sauna were nice and everything was clean and well-taken care of. They appeared to keep kids out of the gym, which was nice and offered a great place to be able to workout in peace! *Other - The concierge was rather uninformative... We stopped by right after checking in to ask a few questions, mostly to confirm stuff we found on the internet (Yelp & TA) and he didn't seem to know anything about the places we asked about, like Donut Falls Trail or Purple Sage Restaurant. So, unfortunately, he wasn't much help. Also, there were way too many unsupervised kids running around the entire property, even though there were signs asking kids if they "had their parents" with them. This negatively affected our stay. We can deal with a few, well-mannered kids, but kids who jam up the revolving door in an effort to pack as many in to cause it to stop are unruly and need not be doing that. Same with the hot tubs, one or two were marked as "quiet" and for adults, but that didn't stop kids, especially those too young to read and who weren't with their parents from getting in, splashing and screaming... not to mention eating pizza in the hot tub - really?!?! There was also little supervision of these areas by the hotel staff, which could have gone a long way to preventing these issues. Last complaint was the parking... If you stay here and go out in the evening, don't plan on being able to park on-property upon returning! The garage gets packed. To avoid this the first night, we took the public, free bus, but waited so long for it to arrive at the hotel and at the Main St area, that we didn't want to deal with this again, so the next night we took the car - bad idea, as the garage was packed upon returning and the over-flow garage is a little ways away. *Overall - It was just OK. Can't see returning.

Yelp
Warning, this is not a Marriott Hotel, but rather a timeshare. I got fooled by the BonVoy app that doesn't separate the two. I had to update the initial review, after the first day. While different than a hotel, the experience did get better. The rooms were nice, the customer service improved, and the amenities are pretty good with hot tubs, pools and indoor activities.

Yelp
Marriott MountainSide is a pretty nice resort. They have a lot of nice amenities available for the guests. The ski in/ski out feature is very convenient. I wish the ski storage was a bit closer to the slopes because navigating the pool area with skis can be a bit tricky. The rooms are nice and spacious. The kitchens are well appointed which makes it easy to make breakfast and lunches. The resort is also close to lots of restaurants and shops. It is fairly easy to get an uber in and out of the resort. Parking is also easy and covered which is nice.

Yelp
Horrible check out policy, even as a Select Owner and a Platinum Elite Bonvoy Member the late check out option was only noon! VERY misleading policy on late check out. You can check out as late as 4pm at a Marriott hotel, but as an owner of a timeshare, noon is the latest you can get at a timeshare resort!

Yelp
Great resort for families and skiers. We flew in to SLC with our children and took a 30 min shuttle up to Park City for our kids to ski for the first time. Great experience. Convenient to the slopes, ski valet, friendliest staff, kids activity center, entertainment (magic show, board games, foosball, etc), outdoor swimming pool open all year, hot tubs with temps for 5 and under, Disney jr on the TV. The hotel entrance has a Pokestop! My kids couldn't ask for more. Nicely decorated rooms, clean, very comfortable beds. HUGE soaking tub in the room with kitchen suite. Loved the staff. Not one person was ever unhelpful or unfriendly in any way. They made sure any requests were met. My only complaint would be the lack of a convenient restaurant on the property. It would be awesome if there was more healthy food available in the lobby, or room delivery from a nearby cafe. This resort is perfect for the average person who appreciates 5 star customer service.

Yelp
My wife and I are currently staying here on our honeymoon and we specifically paid much more for this room compared to surrounding hotels for one reason, the many hot tubs. My wife has stayed here before and wanted to return for the hot tubs specifically. There was no notification two months ago when we booked or any messages prior to our stay this weekend that implied any construction or shut down of the hot tubs. We requested to cancel our reservation upon arrival when we found out they are shut down so we could go stay elsewhere with a functioning hot tub. They would not give us a refund or even upgrade our room. Instead they gave us a few crackers and marshmallows for the fire pits. We expected to spend all of our time relaxing in the hot tubs this weekend but instead paid a more expensive room rate for a disappointing experience. We are extremely upset and will not return due to the poor accommodations made to make up for the main reason we chose to stay here.

Yelp
I loved staying at Marriott's MountainSide in super beautiful Park City! I am so glad my boyfriend took me there. His family is from the area and it was my first time in Utah. What a treat! Very comfortable bed, huge room, everything was perfect. The hotel offers tons of activities but we were more interested in being outside, check the first snow in the mountains, see the pretty streets in Park City and savor the atmosphere. What a wonderful image I got from my first (and hope not the only one) stay in Utah!

Yelp
In Park City for firs time on business. Marriott is my preferred hotel provider. Saw this property and chose it for its proximity to the hotel i was presenting at. What could go wrong.... Hotel was kind enough to call me a day before to confirm reservation and them ensure I would be there - thought that was pretty cool. Arrived around 9. I would need a taxi from the Mountain Side to another property 1 miles away. Yes, I do not want to drag my bag a mile. Driving in, I see the ubiquitous marriott vans - 2 of them - and solid, i can get a ride. Check in was just odd. Got a weird map and the person wrote on it with permanent marker, which smeared. So, I leaned into shuttle service and was told...NOPE. Taxis? Well, park city does not have those ( again, odd, but by first visit). The head of check in stepped in and called her contact - who had no availability at 0700 in the morning...In the end, she coordinated with the other hotel to have their shuttle pick me up. Room is average. On the verge of worn. Hasp on door is broken - has a dry wall screw holding it on. tiny Tv. But, the room is very bright - which is a positive! Layout is weird...feel like I am in a Tolkien movie. Hey, not my first rodeo at a Marriott...and majority of my stays are very positive. Maybe, a little spicy from the travel....maybe. When a traveler arrives and needs something - do not have them a project, like get a Uber, call this company....it is assumed and part of the service that YOU do that...like drive one of your two vans - parked out front - 1 MILE - to the destination I need. Not returning, probably. If Park City is in my future again, will hit Hyatt. Update. One for swing at a ride and SUPRISE, Fiona called a cab and squared me away. Thank you Fiona for recognizing that all I wanted was service, not a challenge. Also, get your shuttles running Marriott. It is ridiculous. I could walk also, but old and chilly... and dragging a bag. Not good for me

Yelp
I have stayed at many Marriott Vacation Club's and they are all fantastic. This one however has some things that make it better than other Marriott Vacation Club Resorts. The activities they have at the hotel are amazing and definitely better than any other Marriott Vacation Club I've stayed at. There are many fun activities for kids. Like the dance party's, pool party's, games, video games, and more. The rooms are great but the area is what makes it so unique. Right outside the hotel there is amazing skiing, the famous alpine slide, and of course Downtown Park City home to the Sunset Film Festival. If you are planning a visit to Park City this resort is fabulous and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
First Marriott calls me a few days before our scheduled arrival and asks if there is any specific accommodations we would like for our room. I told them a Mountain View and a high floor would be nice. At check in, we receive a 2nd floor room with a view of the roof above the entrance. Next, our room had dried urine around the base of the toilet, not just a small amount but an excessive amount. Just makes you wonder how clean can other areas be if they miss something so blatant. I've included a picture of what we found in the bath, completely disgusting!!! And I don't think they've ever cleaned the windows.

Yelp
We stayed from 11/18-11/23. We had a one bedroom suite. We are owners, and this is the first time we have stayed at this resort. We were on the 5th floor and I don't think there was anyone above our unit. The room itself was fine. It was clean with all of the usual items you would expect at a Marriott Vacation Club unit. The bed was comfortable. Here are the things that make it less than 5 stars for us: 1. Hot water was inconsistent, especially in the sink off the bedroom. At times it was just lukewarm after letting it run for a few of minutes. I had to wash my face in the kitchen a couple of times. 2. The pilot light in our fireplace kept blowing out, and we had to request someone come to relight it, which was a pain. 3. Every night the parking lot would fill to capacity. There would occasionally be a vehicle taking up two spots because they parked their large vehicle in a compact spot. It was super annoying that there is not enough parking for one car per unit. A couple of nights we had to park in the overflow lot - not fun when it's dark, wet and cold. The overflow lot is not well lit, nor is the route that goes to the resort. As a woman walking alone from the lot one night, it was a little scary. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I would really like to see them address the parking issue though, such as having only one car per unit for large families and/or large vehicles or extra vehicles being the ones who park in the overflow lot.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay in beautiful Marriott MountainSide. Our 1 bedroom villa was fabulous and i really enjoyed having the full kitchen and the washer and dryer. The staff at this hotel was so courteous and kind to us. Kay, the concierge, was so very helpful and we had a wonderful time bonding with her over dumplings and spicy hot sauce. We will definitely be back here to this beautiful resort.

Yelp
We stayed at Mountainside for one night and overall it was a good experience. A few things that I thought I would mention. The parking situation is rough, not enough spots for the size of the hotel and the overflow lot is a jaunt, especially when stormy weather hits. Park right when you check in and don't leave, that's my advice. The room was nice. I would suggest that they update them to match todays technology. We had an analog clock radio, smaller TV. I would have enjoyed a beverage but none were in the room. Not even a water. The front desk was very helpful and check in was quick. Good job staff!
