OMG breakfast! We tried four different entrees. Everything is fresh and tasty. A must breakfast place if you are in Plymouth!

Google
My favorite breakfast place on the Cape for many years — excellent menu and everything I’ve ever ordered here was well prepared, flavorful and abundant. At peak hours during high tourist season the restaurant is often full; but wait times are reasonable. The bakery is also excellent if you want to pick up coffee and pastry.

Nice diner style eatery with plenty of parking, good service, and very good food. The omelets are fluffy and large. Actually enough to share. I had one with corned beef hash and American cheese. It was very good. Great coffee as well! We went there twice during our three day visit to Sandwich.

Marshland is a great local casual spot for a nice home cooked meal. We had not been here in some time, since it can get super busy in the summer. But this time of year there is no long line to get in, so we only waited a short time for a booth. The lunch counter had plenty of seating but we were in the mood for a booth. I ordered the meatloaf plate and my hubby got the Schrod. Food arrived promptly and was nice and hit and fresh. The meatloaf was a super generous portion. So much I took half home. It was great and served with a yummy mushroom gravy, which I requested be served in the side. But the highlights of the meal - for me - were the absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked green beans and mashed potatoes! As good as you can get! My hubby said his schrod was very good, but not one of the best he has had on the Cape. He, too, loved the sides and ate all the rest of the gravy, pronouncing it “addictive!” We cleaned our plates for sure. Service was fast and very friendly and there is a great on-site bakery too. A must visit in the Sandwich area!

Google
We lucked out and got counter top seats for 3 right as we walked in. Others waited for booth space. Coffee was really good as was the service. Clam Chowder was excellent and I finally tried a cold lobster roll. It was good. The bun was amazing, fries amazing. Every time I try lobster I always wonder what the big deal is? But that’s just me. So expensive and I guess I just prefer fish but the portion was generous and I ate most of it. Everyone was happy with their meals. Coffee was very good and the baked goods looked wonderful but was too full from the lobster roll to have any.

If you are looking for a sandwich in sandwich you simply cannot pass this place up for your consideration. With a great selection of amazing sandwiches and home style meals. Don't forget to try the chowder! Very creamy and has soft clams. Then finish with amazing pastries too.

Greeted by a friendly hostess, just inside the door 2 couples before us. Five minutes.., Sat down received drink orders promptly after seated. Ordered food. All seats full. Received food in reasonable time. Asked if we needed anything 3X during meal. Special board looks tasty. Noise level reasonable for size and space, you can carry on a conversation. Very efficient turnover. Reasonable prices, food excellent quality and I recommend coming with an appetite.

Let’s start with the food. The lobster eggs Benedict- soul healing. The pancakes-super tasty, even the plain ones. The portions-big. The chef and kitchen staff are phenomenal. As for the service, very friendly and quick. The waitress with the long black hair and the tan skin (feel bad I didn’t catch her name) is very lovely. The atmosphere was extremely warm and cozy, like visiting my nanas house. It seemed everybody knows each other by name-the staff knows the customers, and the customers know each other. All in all, my husband and I had an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you guys so much for giving us an amazing start to our day!!

Yelp
Breakfast is amazing at this restaurant that returned to Forestdale to add to its multiple locations. The menu has multiple offerings and they customize any way you'd like. The location is roomy, clean and service is pleasant and attentive. The pan omelette is generously filled with many combinations to choose from. This restaurant has a long history of making family food and has even been celebrated on The Food Network. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a great night Friday we went to Marchand It is newly renovated and is so warm and clean Our waitress Tory was great And so was Samantha who helped them out Our food voices were delicious but the Drunken Pumpkin Ale was what I am still talking about It is a very friendly atmosphere and I would recommend it to others to enjoy it

Yelp
9/20/24 We received a recommendation from a young man at the Sandwich Glass Museum. I had the Scallop Platter with fries and coleslaw. The scallops were very lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The fries were excellent! The coleslaw was very good. My wife had an egg over easy with home fries and marble toast. Excellent home fries. From the Bakery. The Whoppie pie and chocolate chip and craisin biscotti were very good. The carrot cake was one of the best I tasted but a little dry. The pistachio muffin was excellent. The best my wife ever had. Maybe they will share their recipe for their pistachio muffin! Excellent service!

Ann P.

Yelp
Ok I went back, twice. Marshland makes the best tuna melt on the Cape. The sourdough bread is AOK but the great tuna salad with tomato and cheese, heaven. The setting is rough around the edges diner vibe. I love it!

Erin S.

Yelp
We came in here because it smelled good as we were driving by. We split a crock of clam chowder, which was good. My husband got the clam strip plate and it was fantastic. I do think the star of the show was my lobster roll. Huge chunks of meat, not a lot of mayo, amazing roll - perfection! Fries were great too. Would definitely recommend. Service was solid. No complaints here.

Jean M.

Yelp
One of the best french onion soup i've ever had! Big portions and fresh. Quick service and always packed inside. The only thing i would say is tuna melt was really dry, not really a melt but cheese just thrown inside.

Linda K.

Yelp
I grew up on Cape cod and Moved to Sacramento 10 years ago. I like clam chowder, stuffed quahogs and clam strips, which do not taste the same in Sacramento. I have been to several places over the past couple days and have to say Marshland was my favorite. The wait staff was friendly, the decor was cute and had an old fashioned look with counters and stools

S J.

Yelp
This place used to be great. now is just sucks. ordered the kids choc chip pancake. didn't expect a pile of choc chips in the center GROSS. they have really gotten very cheap with good quality. Kinda dirty too. we need a quality diner in Sandwich

Aliza H.

Yelp
We waited about 25-35 minutes to be sat, but it was absolutely worth it! The food was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere was super calm and fun. Some of the decor makes it feel like an old country style kitchen and it's just overall lovely. Most people probably wouldn't wait that long, but our family played heads up outside on our phones and it was a good laugh to pass the time.

Francie L.

Yelp
Good breakfast spot but staff should not be eating at the counter! Staff a bit too chatty with each other; distracting. Hooks for purses under counter would be nice.

Michael S.

Yelp
Good experience although not for everyone. Traditional diner experience with solid menu with all the favorites but if you are particularly health oriented this could be a struggle.

David T.

Yelp
Of course it's busy this time of year(summer) but it would be great if the service and food was consistent all year round. I understand the revenue booster of summer customers has on the cape but it hardens the all year rounders confidence in the local businesses. Also the ambiance changes with the seasons so are family do not frequent our stomping grounds as much.

Jay D.

Yelp
Very good food and at fair prices, something that's not always easy to find nowadays! Our food came out quickly and the service was great. Will be back again soon!

A. U.

Yelp
Nothing to look at from the outside but nice, clean, and friendly diner on the inside. The lobster bisque was thick and rich. In debating whether to get a cup or a bowl-- spring for the bowl! Had a nice salad with craisins, green apple and blue cheese on top. Boy, they weren't skimpy on the cheese! My kid enjoyed their baked mac and cheese and Caesar salad. Cape cod reuben and fries looked good too. Kind, attentive, fast, and friendly wait staff. A solid choice.

Mr B.

Yelp
My wife was in the mood for oatmeal and I was in the mood for lobster egg Benedict. I called up to confirm that they had oatmeal at noon time and was told yes. Came to the restaurant when she ordered the oatmeal the waitress told her it was instant! So short French toast and I ordered my lobster egg Benedict. Had to flag down the waitress to get a refill on my coffee while waiting for breakfast. Breakfast came my wife's friends toast was cold waitress said oh I'm sorry they were just waiting for your eggs Benedict to get finished. I guess the cooks don't understand, the concept of timing the orders so that they're done at the same time. On the other hand, my eggs Benedict were wonderful and had General portions of clam meat. Had to flag down the waitress again to get a refill soda for my wife. All the waitresses congregate around Each other and chitchatting without looking at the dining room floor to see who needs what

Ellie B.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere, staff was quick and wonderful our server Debbie and her daughter were delightful Had the marshland omelet, was to die for.

Adrienne M.

Yelp
I ordered way too much. The quahogs were huge and delish. The chowder good. And turkey dinner enough for 2 people. Waitress was amazing. Small hometown atmosphere.

Jason L.

Yelp
Love it here. Good service, good food, however, it is a little small inside and is often busy. But hey who says that's a bad thing! Just means they are good!

John T.

Yelp
I am still thinking about what a terrible dinner it was. The next table over placed their order, then we got their menus. We placed our order shortly thereafter. Their food was served while we waited. They finished their food while we waited. Finally, my wife went and asked about our food - 2 sandwiches. They gave some excuse for the delay. We should have just left. A Rubin sandwich is supposed to have thinly sliced meat. They added chunks of meat. The bread is to be toasted. This bread was burnt. Fries are to be crisp. These were mushy. We sat in front of largely uneaten food when the check was dropped on our table without a word and the waitress disappeared. We were never asked about our meal. I am just waiting for hell to freeze over so I can consider returning there.

Cheryl N.

Yelp
My go to restaurant when I have out of town guests! But when I wanna have a really good home-cooked meal, marshlands is a great choice!

Lynda C.

Yelp
We ordered from the breakfast menu. Eggs over easy were perfect as was my omelet. Service was excellent cheerful and knowledgeable. We had a large order and this wonderful server didn't write anything down when our order came it was perfect. Amazing!! Very clean and enjoyable!

Joseph P.

Yelp
Small and crowded, with apparently no regard for Covid safety, Marshland is a germ petrie dish, sorry to say. The food is good however. The omelet and side salad is massive. Comes with tater tots and big toast. The grilled Ruben was just ok, but as a former New Yorker, my standards are high. Marshland is one of those roadside classic diners with Big portions and reasonable prices making it a favorite for many visiting Cape Cod.

Beth T.

Yelp
This is a review for their sister restaurant. We were very excited when Marshland too reopened. Our first experience there was breakfast and it was good and the waitresses very attentive. Today was a completely opposite experience. We were directed to a table for 4. Waitress asked if she could remove two placemats as this place wastes paper. She looked miserable and I said to my husband she clearly does not want to be here. When she came back for our order, I asked if the salad could just be made with romaine no spinach as I have a food allergy. After an audible sigh, I was told they are all premade so no substituting. I then ordered a turkey club and my husband a Reuben with a cup of soup. She asked if he wanted the soup first and he said yes. Another big sigh. Soup never arrived. She came back with our order after a long wait. Reuben, no soup and a turkey sandwich. My husband said. The soup never came so just forget about it. Another big sigh. She leaves and returns with a lukewarm soup. I said I'm sorry he said he no longer wanted the soup and my order is wrong this is not a turkey club. Again, I was not rude as she clearly was having a bad day. She rolled her eyes and says that's how we make them. Then in a voice you might use to school a toddler she says we take a basic deli sandwich and if you want other stuff you have to ask and it costs extra. I said, but it is a club. It comes with those items. She then said you also ordered from the dinner menu and it's not available at lunch. I will get personal here and add that my vision is not so great on the right and apologized to her that I guess I did not see it correctly. I was so upset I said I was no longer hungry. I was on the verge of tears when the couple in the next booth says. We do not mean to eaves drop, but we ordered a club and got a club and it was from the same menu you did. Her explanation makes no sense. You are not in the wrong she is. She never came back to our table and then after 15 minutes returned with our bill and says I took 30 percent off even though I did not have to as I tried to make you happy and you just wanted to be mad! I said Im not mad. I am incredibly disappointed. We used to come here all the time. I have never returned food or had bad service. Then she said in a very condescending manner, what do you want me to say? Now I am mad. I said admit you made a mistake not the chef as he just made the other customers a club. Also I did not order off the wrong menu. Just say you screwed up. Take responsibility. She left and came back and said. I'll pay for your lunch how's that. You go and have a nice day now! She was so rude I did a not nice thing. I told her to go F herself and money was never the issue. I left cash on the table for my husband's sandwich and inedible soup. I was upset and apologized to the other couple who said you did nothing wrong. The waitress messed up. It's not the same here any more and we won't be back either. As we were going out, I heard the waitress say can you believe that old woman just told me to f off. Actually I cannot believe it because it has never happened before. I have respect for all servers and even when the food is not good I have never, ever blamed the waitress. Never once in my 70 years. No worries. We won't be back. There are some really great lunch options in Sandwich. This is not one of them.

Lilly c.

Yelp
Really good casual brunch food! Homey and nice environment. Nice and welcoming servers.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Just sold our house in Sandwich and the one thing I'll miss the most is breakfast at Marshland! One of my faves!!!

Nick T.

Yelp
Great food. Quaint small hometown restaurant with happy helpful staff. Awesome bakery

Ram I.

Yelp
Very nice service, comfortable place, good choices on the menu and nice place to have brunch/lunch.

Peter M.

Yelp
Old fashioned but excellent. Food all tastes home made and delicious. Service is homey and personable. Looks like a 60's dine restaurant

Andrew C.

Yelp
Great breakfast diner. Old-school service with old-school charm equals great food by the kitchen. May over easy eggs or cooked to perfection. The bacon was crispy and cold and lots of it. The breakfast potatoes were season nicely and were cooked through with a little crispiness to them, outstanding. we sat there a little bit longer and we're not bothered with a timeline to be in and out, thank you.

Margot C.

Yelp
I would have given 5 stars but They don't serve breakfast all day, which was a bummer when we stopped in with our small kids who will only eat pancakes reliably in restaurants. We ordered them the Mac and cheese which my daughter refused to eat because she is dedicated to Kraft Mac n cheese from the box. Her loss because this was the best Mac and cheese I have ever eaten. My husband and I still talk about it months later.

Charles M.

Yelp
We love this place! Extensive menu, great food, fast service. This is our only breakfast spot when we're on the cape!

Scott F.

Yelp
We come here all the time & we love it - great food great staff & bakery is awesome If you come here you will love it too!

Shaun C.

Yelp
Cute diner, super friendly staff, quick service. Obviously, it's a locals' favorite. Nice jumping off spot for a day of sight seeing in the oldest town on the Cape.

Ann H.

Yelp
Charming restaurant, I would definitely come back to try their lunch. But the breakfast come out quick and delicious. 5 out of five star.

Sara C.

Yelp
We stopped in on a whim. So happy that we did. Low key, cozy ambiance. Booths and counter service. Very nice waitress . The complimentary corn bread was rich and moist. Excellent homemade clam chowder. Best lobster roll yet. I will not have to go to the Lobster Shack anymore. My husband had a special, swordfish risotto and it was so flavorful. Will definitely go again for another meal. Two thumbs up.

Terry M.

Yelp
I've been here with my brother several times. I have never been disappointed with the food. It's always delicious. The service is always great. The wait staff works together. You do have a waitress, but, if your meal is ready, another waitress or member of the wait staff will bring it out. The wait staff are all very friendly. It's nice. It's a home style feel - it's diner-like, but, not exactly a diner. It has bar seating (6 or 7 seats maybe), some booths and a small room with tables (if needed). I really like it here.

Terri S.

Yelp
Thank you for serving breakfast until closing in the afternoon. I hate when restaurants stop serving breakfast at like 10:30. I'm on vacation; I want to sleep in and get breakfast at 12:30 or 1pm. Menu is extensive. Food was great! Has a diner-y vibe in the best possible way. Bakery attached is a bonus.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Yet this is the 5th time my sandwich has not come with the pickle even when I asked 5 times to double check

John D.

Yelp
Full of comfort food. Reasonable price, didn't leave hungry. Coffee was hot and good. Place was busy Breakfast Sandwiches,Farmers Omelet,Corn Beef Hash & Eggs

Kristen M.

Yelp
Consistently a great meal, with great service in a hometown atmosphere. I've never been disappointed

Gp W.

Yelp
The food is average. The wait staff was very loud and surly when asked to quiet down. This was for dinner. I have have been in restaurants where people are talking loudly or where the wait staff are enjoying a humorous moment. I have never before had the wait staff stand beside me and shout while I'm having my dinner. I asked them politely to quiet down and I was told that I had come on the wrong night. I won't make that mistake again.

Alena S.

Yelp
We really liked this restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the food is good. My husband had the meatloaf and I had a shaved beef sandwich with fries. We both felt like the portion sizes were large. It's easy to find with plenty of parking.

Ann marie g.

Yelp
Great local place! Daughter loved her clam chowder in a bread bowl. Very creamy. My husband and I were very pleased with our meals.

Amy C.

Yelp
Great place for a home cooked meal with a popover and a delicious piece of pie. Very welcoming , great service.

Bill B.

Yelp
Great lunch sitting at the old fashion lunch counter listening to all the regulars chat about what was happening in town. also listening to what they ordered and thank God for being nosy because we ordered the lobster bisque which was fantastic. Really ist was loaded with lobster. We also went with the fried clams which were also a big hit and perfectly done. Great home-cooked food and someplace I'll return to on my next trip to Sandwich. Worth the wait!

lizzie b.

Yelp
The best lobster roll I've ever had!! And delicious onion rings! Also liked the Reuben and the fruit side. All around awesome place, and I can't wait to come back!

Cailey R.

Yelp
I've only eaten breakfast here but it's always delicious. The food comes out fast and it always hot!

Ronit M.

Yelp
Great place for brunch! Fresh ingredients and eats. Unique table layouts. Great for groups. Single person restrooms; 1 male and 1 female. Kitchen in the rear. Bakery off to the end closer to the gas station. Delicious treats. Muffins go fast! Low U-shaped tables at the center of the room. Booths around the perimeter. Would love to come back next time I'm in the area. Friendly staff. Free coffee refills. Menus come with coupons and finds in the area. Happy eats!

David K.

Yelp
Great food Great staff and service Unique specials Always get fresh quality baked goods to go Visited many times Never disappointed
