This place looks kind of shabby and low key on the outside, and also from the inside. But don’t be fooled! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The food is some of the best in Paris, at any price. We initially came here thinking it was just a place for drinks, and it’s great for that. Before the kitchen opens in the evening, they serve gin and tonics, beers, cocktails, and natural wines. But while we were sitting there sipping their custom gin (yes they have custom gin made!) they brought us out peppers that they’d grown in their farm, smoked, and then pickled. They were fantastic! We decided we needed to go back for dinner.
Oh are we glad we went back for dinner. It was amazing. Everything was seasonal, sourced from their farm or from their local partners, and flavorful as hell. We had sweet potatoes with fried chickpeas, cumin, and tahini. We had roasted cauliflower with fried caper flowers, leek purée, and lil peppers. We had a multi mushroom pot pie that was both beautiful and mind blowingly delicious! And we had a porchetta that rivaled anything you’d find in Italy.
All of this was amazing, non pretentious, super welcoming, and reasonably priced. They welcomed our dog and brought everyone sitting in cold areas hot water bottles. This is the sort of place I want to thrive - amazing food and drinks run by really cool people.
