Martini Hotel

Let's start with the positive: the beds. Comfy, soft and big enough. Not suitable for belly sleepers though. The shower is also okay, temperature is easily adjusted. Staff is mostly friendly. But I'm afraid that's it. A "comfort" room for three people has one tiny closet that fits two coats, three (comfy 👌🏼) beds but one of the beds doesn't have a bedside table or anything, no lamp, no nothing. Just in a corner, like a neglected child. The bathroom is indeed just big enough to turn around in, if someone uses the toilet, everyone can hear. There's not even a fridge to keep things fresh (like water and medication) but the room does come with some amenities for tea and coffee. The pipes make noise all night, good luck to light sleepers and HSP. There's no central heating, only the AC that will give you a headache. Try to avoid staying here. Great location tho if you came by train!

Great hotel. Perfect location. The rooms were very clean (contrary to what I read in some reviews). Very friendly staff throughout the entire day. We got an upgrade to a standard room because the hotel is being remodeled/modernized on some floors right now. The bar on the ground floor serves a great tapas plate together with an IPA — a great way to finish your day. Breakfast has a wide variety. When we’re back in Groningen, I would stay here again without a doubt. The only thing i can think of is that the bed i slept on was too soft. But thats personal. One star reduction due to cooling fluent? noise from airco. Check that in 2 rooms. But with ear plugs slept good. ;-)

My stay at the Martini Hotel Groningen was unfortunately a significant disappointment. The room we were assigned was quite different from what we had expected based on the pictures seen during booking, leading us to question if we had been placed in an older, possibly "hostel" part of the establishment. The room itself was extremely small, and felt dated. The furniture was old .Most concerning was the distinct non pleasant smell . Furthermore, the positioning of the bed, placed directly under the window, was awkward . Given the poor state of the accommodation, I do not recommend this hotel and will certainly not be returning again.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were checked into a room that was already in use by other guests. After pointing this out at the front desk, we were transferred to another room. The following day, our room was neither cleaned nor serviced, and to make matters worse, the room light stopped working. I had to return to the front desk to report the issues. The light was repaired and the room was finally cleaned the day after. On the 3rd day, however, the room was again not cleaned. Since I came back late in the room I did not ask for service and reported the next morning at the counter when we checked out. The receptionist barely showed concerned about my complaints related to the repeated missing cleaning during our stay. While some staff did respond to complaints, the repeated problems and the need to chase for solutions made our stay stressful rather than relaxing. Sadly, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

The room 219 is extremely small. No space to move around. Getting into bathroom is cramped.|Hotel is trying to get more money per space.|Window barely opens so no air.|Noisey machine at rear of building runs all night, no idea what is it.|Plus side is location and beautiful bar area.

We arrived without a prior booking due to some mishaps that happened with our planning for the weekend. The stuff was friendly enough to help us out and give us one of the last 2 rooms available at a fair price. I haven't tried the food or the drinks, so I don't have an opinion about that. Nice atmosphere, though at the bar and at the restaurant, when I got a glimpse. The room itself was very nice, with comfy mattresses and pillows, an extra was also at the closet. Clean bathroom and nice urban view from our room at least (417). Fast Internet connection also! Practically at the city centre so easy access to everything. Old building, you can understand from the elevator type but excellently renovated and maintenanced. Definitely recommend!

The renovated rooms are ideal if the usual cramped Dutch style. Can't recommend the unrennovated rooms, they are VERY cramped.

First of all it looks great and the service is very friendly. The room was cozy and clean but fairly, which is quite common in the Netherlands to be fair. The location is excellent, in the heart of the city center. But if you have a room facing the street it's fairly loud, even on a Thursday evening/night. Also it says there is free WiFi but you still need a password which I couldn't find anywhere.

Very welcoming. Exceptional service. Excellent food. The restaurant and hotel next door (Hotel Martini) make a great combination. A wonderful Groningen experience. Visit this city. Stay in this hotel. Dine here. You will not be disappointed. Both are in the city center - walking distance from everything Try the melon and Parma ham appetizer and the mushroom risotto and asparagus entree.

Been there a couple of days ago in a weekday with my wife for dinner. The atmosphere was good, the service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Price-wise, I think it was quite ok, actually, for the quality of the overall experience. I would definitely recommend Weeva to anyone visiting Groningen. For the record, I had the leg of lamb (sliced) with fries, my wife had meatball with potatoes and for dessert she had a delicious poffert (local sweet cake) and I had a marvelous cheese cake.

Black pudding tasted like old bread dipped in sugar syrup. Ordered mushroom sauce for my steak (which was good) but did not receive it with the meal. It appereared on the bill anyways, just as two cups of tea we did not order. Food was below average but priced above. Cannot recommend to go there.

Excellent service,great food,great price.what more could you want? Very nice white asparagus with hollandaise and a perfectly grilled salmon steak.

Most friendliest staff. The food was very good and the atmosphere was very persuading. I definitely recommend Weeva!
