Stayed for a week in June 2025. Positives include:- Location Amazingly comfortable king bed! Wonderful pool area Pleasant hosts Not so great is the lack of a lift, lugging heavy suitcases up flights of stairs is no fun. Recommended

No hesitation recommending this fantastically located, excellent stay for couples/adults. Hosts Ken and Colin could not be more accommodating, friendly, informative and helpful, whether in making bookings, recommending restaurants or helping us work the TV. Nothing is too much. We stayed in two different apartments at the Martinique over our week - it was peak season and we booked late, so moving rooms allowed us the days we wanted. Having two rooms, we can vouch how clean and well appointed the apartments are, including the lovely touches Ken and Colin offer, like warm welcoming lamps, huge comfy beds, a great kitchen and all you need for a BBQ.|These self-contained apartments are as central as they come - right on Macrossan, but just enough away from the noise. The beach is pretty much outside the gate. The pool is quiet and private. At this price point we could not believe how lucky we were to enjoy our week there during the busiest time of the year. Five stars!

Great quiet spot. Rooms in good condition with nice wooden sliding doors/screens. Definitely needing ventilation fans installed in the bath, not just a window, as it got super humid post shower. Appreciated the rules on being quiet.

The location is great, right on Macrossan Street and next to Four Mile Beach, an easy stroll to shops, sand and sea. The man in charge is Ken and he is welcoming, friendly and will help you for anything, just ask him. My apartment consisted of a big bed in a nice bedroom, an ensuite with a nice shower. There is a kitchenette for basic cooking, a dining table and chairs, a settee and TV. There is a nice but small balcony overlooking trees. All is generally nice but there are some failures. There is a small TV which doesn't have free to air and if it wasn't for other people who signed in with their accounts (very dangerous security breach) we would have nothing. I did attempt public stuff like YouTube but the Internet was Third World. The pretty and small heated swimming pool was freezing and precluded my and my wife from swimming. Not a deal breaker for us but in our whole stay I saw only one person in the pool. The rooms are serviced every four days approximately which is not bad considering our other resort in Palm Cove. However, it can prove a problem if it is not convenient for the guest who wants a shower/use the toilet/or whatever. The lovely Yorkshire lady who does the job is on a timeframe, which made things awkward. In our unit there was a strange smell which was not noticeable after a while of being in it and when I mentioned it I was told of the plug in air freshener - not the answer I expected or wanted. The above negatives do not change the fact Martinique is a great place to stay and I happily recommend it as a good place to stay for your holiday in Port Douglas.

A beautiful place to stay in Port Douglas- great location within a short walk from restaurants, shops and bars as well as the 4 mile Beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and the bed was super comfy. Colin gave us great tips about all the things to do in Port Douglas, we only wished we could have stayed longer and would definately stay there again.

Great spot right near the beach and shops/restaurants. Very good wheelchair accessible room. Colin and Ken are great hosts. Nice and quiet. No children.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent visit to your hotel. We were looking to book a stay for our parents and were excited to explore the property with our well-behaved children. However, our experience was marred by the interaction with the manager. As we approached the reception and paused to admire the fish pond, the manager pointed us away without any greeting or acknowledgment. As a local who values and supports community businesses, I had hoped for a more welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to reconsider recommending your hotel to others. I believe that a friendly approach can greatly enhance a guest's experience, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

Thankyou to Ken and Collin for your hospitality. The attention to detail, the Manicured gardens and the warmth which you give towards your guests is exemplary. The location is ideal, everything is close at hand for an early morning walk on the beach or a stroll into town. The appartments are clean and well maintained and feel very homely. Looking forward to coming back. Cheers Gary and Barbara

Yelp
My wife & I stayed here on our honeymoon in 2018. I would consider it more of a bed & breakfast (without the breakfast) than I would your traditional hotel & that's what we loved about it. We were checked into our room by the owner who had a nice bottle of wine waiting for us as a marriage gift. The hotel is close to the beach & just down the street from the main road with shops/restaurants. The hotel arranged a shuttle to pick us up at 4a for our 6a flight back in Carnes which we greatly appreciated (we hadn't been able to find anyone to pick us up so thankfully they knew a company!) 5/5 would stay here again.

Yelp
This a great little hotel, with a fantastic and helpful staff. The rooms are quite spacious, and the location -- on the main strip, Macrossan -- is very good. It's a small walk -- 5 minutes or so -- to the side of Macrossan that has most of the restaurants. The only issue I had there was consistent with other Australian hotels: flaky internet. But, in comparison to other hotels, it was a steal at only $10 for the entire stay. For those who are deciding between Port Douglas and Cairns; I think Cairns is probably better for the 20's set -- more opportunities to party -- but for 30 and over the balance starts to turn over to Port Douglas.

Yelp
I'm annoyed that this is even listed as a hotel when it's really not. The folks that work there are really nice but that's about it. The room was slightly outdated and was not as clean as I would have liked. I felt like it was more of a rental apt unit since they did not clean the rooms everyday and the front desk was not always available. I would say the location (close to the beach and shopping area) was pretty ideal and the price was reasonable so I would recommend this place to others if they were looking for an apt-like lodging. But for me, I wasn't all about it.
