Martis Palace Hotel Rome (Rome, Lazio) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Set in a Renaissance-era palazzo in the historic heart of the city, Martis Palace Hotel Rome is emblematic of the local high-end boutique-hotel scene — 26 remarkably spacious and swanky rooms and suites, decorated in a contemporary-meets-classic style with some well-chosen modern comforts. In this neighborhood that would be more than enough, but Martis Palace adds a restaurant serving classic Roman fare as well as a rooftop terrace with a 360-degree view of the city’s rooftops." - Tablet Hotels

As a returning guest of Martis Palace, I’m always reminded why this hotel feels so special the moment I walk in. It’s stylish and boutique, with an incredible breakfast and custom coffee orders that make the mornings feel elevated. The breakfast staff are genuinely so kind and welcoming. It warms your whole day. I also love the aesthetic of the breakfast room and the library. They feel calm, elegant, and so thoughtfully designed.||The rooftop is one of my favorite places in Rome. Quiet in the morning and unbelievably beautiful at sunset. One night we sat up there, looked out over the city, and ended up planning our entire walking tour just by spotting the landmarks from above.||The location is perfect for walking to almost every site, yet the hotel itself is tucked into a quiet corner. It feels like your own little boutique oasis in the middle of Rome.||Martina is always so professional, classy, and attentive, and Esmend makes you feel right at home the second you arrive. The Service here is unmatched!||Their recommendations for food in Rome are top!||Thank you Martis Palace. We will definitely see you again soon!

After an exhaustive search for our hotel in Rome, I found this beautiful gem. It exceeded our expectations for- location, staff, cleanliness, excellent breakfast, room decor and size of room and rooftop deck. The front desk staff were extremely helpful-especially Daniel who called a cab at 5:00am which was an unplanned event. When we arrived in the morning we were comfortably seated in the library and offer coffee and pastries- a lovely touch after a long flight. Martina made sure we were able to get to our room earlier than planned, which allowed us to walk to the major site in Rome. The king sized bed was an extremely comfortable sleep. The windows were well sound-proofed and given the location on a quieter corner we were rarely bothered by noise. The shower was modern (marble throughout) and massive. You could easily fit 3 people in it and the ceiling height was very high allowing my husband of 2m to feel comfortable. Towel warmers took our experience to the next level. The breakfast had an assortment of American and European delights- yogurts, cereal, pastries, eggs, etc. Cleaning staff and breakfast staff were a delight- unpretentious and quickly learned our preferences. The rooftop deck had incredible views of Rome. You really shouldn't miss visiting at least once during your visit. Often we were the only ones there. Tip- just 50 m away is the best gelato we ever had in Italy( La Romana 1947). The only minor issue was that the hotel wasn't close to a metro but it didn't affect our ability to enjoy the city. Highly recommend this gem! This will become our new Roman home if we ever return to Rome !

Stayed in April 2025. The staff is what makes this small boutique hotel so special. Everyone, from the reception desk to housekeeper and bellman, and even maintenance, make sure all your needs are met and will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional. From making dinner reservations, to making transport reservations from the airport and to the cruise terminal, even calling a museum when we were running late for our timed reservation, they make everything turnkey. When we arrived, we were seated in the library and served cappuccino and fresh pastries while are room was being readied. Lovely way to begin our stay after a long day of travel! The rooms are immaculate with wonderful large showers (unusual for Rome). The included breakfast is the perfect way to start your day, and restaurant staff is all smiles and welcoming, constantly making sure you are satisfied and are enjoying your meal. We walked to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trastevere, and many beautiful churches. Beautiful Piazza Navona is just a few steps from the hotel. Took a cab to the Vatican. The location was perfect for seeing all the historic sites in Rome. The roof top seating and bar and a delight, don't miss spending some time relaxing there. Special shout out to Martina and Fabrizio who are warm, sincere and excellent at their jobs which made our stay the very best. We really were sad to leave this wonderful place we got to call home for a few days. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when visiting Rome.

All 24 of us are safely back in New Jersey and missing Rome already. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the service was GREAT and from the location we were able to walk and see the sights.|Our visit was truly outstanding. EVERYONE was so accommodating and kind. The atmosphere was friendly and helpful. Each person went ABOVE AND BEYOND to provide an OUTSTANDING and memorable experience.|They give a new meaning to customer focus. Martina, the desk manager is a prime example of consumer centric. She was there in the early morning hours to see us off and wish us well. Her day is supposed to start at 9am. It says a great deal about her and it was very much appreciated.|I cannot say enough good things about Martina, Vittorio, Julio, the the desk staff, luggage handlers, cleaning crew, the kitchen staff and anyone else I may have missed. They are all personable, professional and simply FANTASTIC!!! This hotel has a great location and provides a good value. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome.|Frank M

Incredible location just off of Piazza Navona! Our room was very nice with a fantastically huge shower. Breakfast was delicious. Every evening, either before or after dinner, we had drinks and snacks on the hotel rooftop -- outstanding views. The staff was extremely polite and responsive. Per our request beforehand, they arranged for our early transportation to the airport. Highly recommend this hotel!!

The Martis Palace is very well located. It is withnin walking distance of all major sites. The reception personnel are extremely helpful and engaging. We had a family suite. It was a bit less expensive than 2 separate rooms. We were on 2 levels. I would not do that (2 levels) again. The 2nd level was like a loft with no privacy, and the stairs were steep. Housekeeping was a little weak. The included breakfast was very limited by 4 star hotel standards. Nonethelless, I would definitely stay there again.

Google
A lovely hotel with an excellent central location, right by Piazza Navona and within walking distance of the other tourist sites. One of the few hotels that has a lift at the entrance. The rest of the public areas are accessible. There is an accessible restroom in the lobby, although it is missing one grab bar. The service at the reception desk is wonderful, especially Martina, the delightful front office manager who is always ready to help with any issue.

Google
This is a wonderful hotel in a perfect location with a respectful and accommodating staff. The room and bathroom were quite large for a European city. One of the very best bathrooms for one to apply their makeup as it had a nice bright light, a magnifying mirror and a shelf. The shower was nice and large with excellent water pressure. This hotel had the best air conditioning I’ve ever experienced in Europe. The breakfast was excellent as well. The one and only negative thing I can report is how loud the doors are when they close. One can’t blame the hotel for rude loud guests but one can’t also blame the guests for the noise the doors makes when it does closes.

Yelp
Great staff and housekeeping. Professional and helpful. Kind enough to give cold fresh water and sometimes cold tea or other flavored water throughout the day in their lounge. Nice continental breakfast daily. Nice rooftop view of Rome. Clean and warm atmosphere.

Yelp
Yuck. Don't stay here. I don't stand these other reviews or maybe we just got stuck with a horrible room. The rooms shown on the website are nothing like we experienced. We arrived on an overnight flight and went to the hotel. They kindly offered us breakfast but when we went in to take a look, it was basically stale pastries, and unrecognizable other items. The room was absolutely terrible. Everything was worn. The sofa was stained (there is no way we would sit on it), the armoire was chipped, the bathroom shower had mildew, the wallpaper was stained and peeling, the bed was as hard as a rock. My husband and I crashed there a couple of hours because we were so exhausted and then checked out as soon as we woke up. We didn't even want to shower there. They offered to give us a different room and we declined, knowing that other rooms would not be miraculously better. We couldn't wait to get out of there. This hotel is way past its expiration date. Save yourself the trouble find another hotel in the neighborhood around the piazza. Just not this one. This one is a big ZERO.

Yelp
This place is great! The price is really good for the place; a delicious breakfast and luxurious sitting rooms are accompanied by really nice front desk service and nice accommodations in our rooms. We had two, a suite and a regular. The latter was very small and only big enough for two people, but the suite was really spacious and comfortable. The location allows for a quick walk to the Pantheon and the Colosseum.

Yelp
The BEST hotel in Rome!! Every single person who I dealt with from Martina and Vitorio at the front desk to the bellmen to the staff in the morning and evening in the restaurant were welcoming, caring, helpful in getting taxis quickly - helping me in my room, getting me band aids when needed, assisting my overnight guests, being nice to my son, booking restaurants, finding my connecting train departures, helping me with booking other hotels as well as reserving dates in advance for my follow on stays in your hotel. I had the opportunity to stay at five different very nice hotels in Italy and although those hotels were nice the Martis Palace Hotel stood out head and shoulders above all the other hotels and is now my home away from home when I visit Italy which I will do again two months from now. This is truly an exceptional hotel, located perfectly in Rome with the most accommodating staff and luxurious and comfortable accommodations. Sincerely, The Siddiqi Family Manhattan Beach, CA USA

Yelp
We switched to this hotel at the last minute when our travel dates changed and our original hotel was no longer able to accommodate us. What a happy accident it was! The place is the perfect location - 30 second walk to Piazza Navona (but not a ton of noise), 5 minute walk to the Pantheon, 8 minute walk to Trevi Fountain, 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, 20 minute walk to St. Peter's Square and 10 minute walk to Trastevere. We enjoyed the family suite (really just two adjoining rooms), which offered space and privacy, plus two queen sized beds and 2 full bathrooms. The room also had amazing blackout curtains and some high tech pluses like fancy light switches. I was surprised with those updates that I didn't see a single USB plug anywhere. The only criticism of the room overall was the bed. VERY firm. Some might say too firm. The standout feature (other than the prime location) was the included breakfast. Beautiful presentation with fresh offerings each day. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others!

Yelp
Martis Palace Hotel bills itself as a more luxurious option in the heart of Rome, but I was a bit let down. The location is convenient for sightseeing, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is decent (no hot food prepared to order, just buffet style, which I'm not really a fan of personally.) There is also a rooftop with beautiful 360° views of Rome. However, our room looked like it had a hard summer tourist season and was banged up with scuffs all over the walls, chipped paint, and crumbling waterproofing in the shower. Overall, the room was actually very dingy and not as clean as I would like. I had to wipe down surfaces everywhere because they had gross markings of God knows what on them. I definitely did them a favor by giving the room a deep clean. Also, while the rooftop deck has great views, the mediocre drinks are a pricey €14 and there is no shade, which I think is crazy in a place as sunny and hot as Rome. So while things were not terrible, they also weren't very impressive either. I would not bother returning.

Yelp
We wanted to have a traditional Aperol Spritz on a rooftop so we could have the perfect view of the sunset and Martis Palace Hotel delivered. We were immediately greeted and sat upstairs. The Aperol Spritz was the best we had while in Italy. They also provide complimentary "snacks" consisting of bruchetta, quiche, nuts, chips- all amazing. So glad we found this place and would def recommend for anyone looking for a romantic sunset view.

Yelp
Under no circumstances this place is 41/2 star!!! My family and I arrived here in the middle of the day with few suitcases. Front lobby of this hotel you must climb stairs not ADA friendly. Dirty towels, broken bathroom vanities disgusting stained bedding, rooms smelled like mold and musk nothing in the room was complimentary not even a water bottle. The complimentary breakfast that came with our package limited choices. Not staying here again and you all don't waste your money. Oh by the way yes they had bidet bathrooms but falling apart

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Rome! The staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel itself is quite modern and they have a lovely rooftop terrace that you must visit if you're staying here.

Yelp
Excellent location, amazing staff, large modern rooms, steps from Piazza Navona, Pantheon, lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. Rooftop lounge. The rooms have wooden floors, high ceilings, automatic lights and drapes. Great breakfast is included and guest privileges to the spa at their nearby sister hotel.

Yelp
Kudos to this beautiful hotel and its exceptional staff. Each and every person we encountered was nice, polite, helpful and had a lovely smile. Particular thanks to Natalia who went far above and beyond in providing exceptional service. The hotel itself is beautiful, conveniently located and immaculately kept with a rooftop terrace that offers panoramic views of the city.

Yelp
The Hotel Martis Palace is a special find. A lovely, new, modern hotel just a few blocks off the Piazza Navona. Our room was beautifully laid out and extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The view from the rooftop of the whole area of Rome was terrific. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Definitely a 5 star rating.
