"Stone fireplace, check. Elk antlers, check. Dark log interior, check. Pull up a chair at this classic Northwoods supper club for traditional fare like lake perch, filet mignon, and broasted chicken, or stop by on Saturday for the roast duck. Either way, don’t skip the ice cream drinks, which include a grasshopper with swirls of emerald-colored creme de menthe liquor and ice cream coifed into a tower as tall as a beehive hairdo."

This was our first time back under the new ownership. We were very happy with our dinner this past Saturday. Spaetzle and Sturgeon were fantastic, as were the beet salad. Cocktails very well crafted and service top-notch!

Five of us for dinner yesterday evening. Amazing steak and lobster special, everything perfect! Sunday special was ribs and chicken unbelievably good! Beet salad delicious! Wonderful bartender and server! Chocolate cherry old fashioned a must!! Decor beautiful up north warmth! Can't wait to go back!!

I was excited to see that Marty's was reopening under new management - unfortunately after our first time returning since they closed they missed the mark. It's still has that cozy up north feel and the bar area is exceptional - but alas, the service was just okay and the food was not very good - out of four of us only one was satisfied with their meal... They'll need to up their game there... some simple things to fix. I ordered my pork chop med-rare and it came out medium well to well and was kinda dried out..cold fingerling potatoes, I ordered onion strings and got onion rings and so on...hopefully they'll get it dialed in and once again be on our go-to list.

Wish I was able to come more often, but out of my price range. It’s a great special occasion spot for us!!!! My 18 yo loved her bday meal and desert. My grilled sturgeon was incredible. They accommodated my wheelchair and crutches, changes to reservation time and number of guests too.

The brandy old fashion was disappointing. How do you not make a good old fashioned in Wisconsin? BBQ ribs were not all that great & the chicken Piccata & rissota, we could make better at home. To top off or night we were next to a table who had a drunk vulgar mouth. Unfortunately we will probably not return.

Went for Fri night fish fry, but decided to try the coconut shrimp which was very good. The shrimp sauce was not what I like, but I know some people would like it. Bar tender did a great job with mixing drinks. We will definitely revisit this place when we are up this way on vacation.

Ugh. The drinks at the bar were perfect but once the wait staff were involved it was all down hill. Went on a Friday, expecting a Fish Friday, but it was BLAH. Baked halibut was bland. Not a lot of other options. Cheese curds were awesome. Best I have had in a while. Asked for an extra dirty martini, came back very clean. Zero olive juice. At the same time, My husband ordered a Cabernet, they came back and said it was a Chardonnay…..but it was red. I understand this is petty but it makes me realize the staff were uneducated about drinks. We did have children with us and the staff were very accommodating. However, the food and experience will not be bringing us back. We were disappointed.

Second time at Martys and we will be back. We sat at a beautiful bar and the tender was wonderful. Our waitress Cassi was friendly and took good care of us. Waitstaff looked small this time but they worked hard. Fish fry was tasty and love the bread basket.

Yelp
Wanted to love this reopened restaurant but...had a 3-star experience. Decor inside is untouched from prior owners. Not even a light fixture refresh. Overall Marty's Place North is a wonderful spot to have an after dinner drink & dessert at the bar but our dinner reservation experience was less than ideal. We arrived right on time for our online reservation, a plus in the Northwoods to be able to make a reliable reservation digitally. Text confirmation received. Our server took over 8 minutes to greet our table while other servers were bussing their tables. Our appetizer came to the table before our drinks (wine & a root beer). Our server then forgot to bring my salad so I cancelled it after our entrees arrived. Fish fry comes with all the fixings but my steak was undercooked to my medium rare temperature leaving me to only be able to eat the outer portions of the filet. Just disappointing dinner service overall. Other local restaurants in this price range offer a more consistent dining experience.

Yelp
It has it all! Great northern ambiance, delicious food and good service. We had a window view of the woods - it was lovely. The pianist in the bar area was a very nice touch. It made the experience extra special. It was a wonderful supper club experience!

Yelp
Four of us dined at Marty's on Saturday night. We had reservations at 6:00 got there early and had drinks at the bar. My brandy Old fashioned was perfect! My wife and my friend had chicken piccata, I had pork schnitzel, and my friends wife had sturgeon. What! I have never seen sturgeon on a menu anywhere...never! We all sampled each other's dishes each dish was prepared perfectly! The chicken piccata was tender and moist. My schnitzel and spaetzels and red cabbage were out of this world! But we all loved the unique flavor of the sturgeon. A very firm and rich white fish with great flavor. I will be ordering the sturgeon next visit this Friday! I hate to say this but we have dined at Marty's many many times over the years and the food was always amazing. However Marty's is better than when Marty's was Marty's! BTW our server Angel was outstanding!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Marty's Place North! First off this is what you think of when you think of a classic Northwoods supper club. The bar was a great first stop and the cocktails were delicious. Our group of seven decided to order different entrees and share so we were able to taste a little of everything. Porsche, our server, was so helpful and attentive. We started out with calmari and cheese curds and they were delicious. Next time I want to try the riblets. I didn't order the Sturgeon because I had never had it before, but it might have been the best two bites I had all night. My husband loves walleye and the walleye almondine was delicious. I wanted to try everything and didn't want a big steak so I ordered the chile-rubbed steak bites from the appetizer menu, and they had great flavor and were a generous size. Someone else ordered the lamb chops and they were delicious, too. We shared one of each of the desserts that were offered. They all were great, but the flourless chocolate cake was insanely good. Thanks to the entire team at Marty's Place North for working so hard to get this gem reopened for the 2024 season! It was a memorable evening. We will be back soon!

Yelp
Such a wonderful Wisconsin experience!! So glad we were able to enjoy a night there. Ambiance and drinks and food was fantastic

Linda D.

Yelp
Awesome up north supper club vibe! Great food! The prime cut filet was cooked perfectly! So tender and flavorful! My family enjoyed the bone in pork chop and scallops!

Yelp
We were excited to dine again at the re-opened Marty's, and it lived up to our expectations after some 40yrs of memorable meals. Currently reservations-only, it was packed, and we waited a few minutes before landing two seats at the bar to grab a well-executed press Old Fashioned and Knob Creek Manhattan. Plus, we had very pleasant conversations with our bartender and the manager. Decor in the bar area and up in the dining room seemed unchanged from our memories, and the lighting remains warm and inviting with their vintage fixtures. For dinner, our server was so pleasant and helpful. Some may be a little disappointed that, despite the signage and ambiance, Marty's isn't quite a classic supper club with relish tray, etc., instead now being an a la carte menu. That said we found the food to be mostly excellent and wines by the glass poured generously. My wife ordered a side salad and remarked on the freshness of the salad itself and the delicious Ranch dressing that tasted homemade. She and I also appreciated very much the pepper and salt grinders on the table, the pepper further enhancing my creamy garlic and mushroom soup. The bread service was only adequate and the only minor disappointment. Entrees of walleye almondine and schnitzel were both also excellent, as was our side of "haystack" onions rings. Finally, we finished with a solid chocolate dessert. Overall, the renewed Marty's exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning to make more memories!

Yelp
Just reopened, had been there several times before and love the decor and setting. Food and service were great

Yelp
I went to Marty's for the first time last fall just for a drink with my family. We were so blown away by the beauty of the bar and the good service that we decided to return next time we were up north together for dinner (which just so happened to be last weekend). I'm very glad we made reservations because even though I called on Thursday night for Saturday reservations, there were only two times available to choose from. When we arrived it was definitely busy. We got there early to enjoy another drink at that lovely bar. The bartender made amazing drinks and was very quick and attentive despite a very busy bar/restaurant. When we were seated for dinner our server was VERY friendly. The atmosphere itself was pretty chaotic. It seemed like there was not enough staff for the amount of patrons in the restaurant. All the workers seemed to be in good spirits though. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer, definitely run of the mill, but not in a bad way. I really liked the complimentary relish tray (particularly the pasta salad). We all ordered soup or salad that came with our entrees. My husband loved the seafood bisque and I thought the salad was good as well. My husband and I both ordered ribeyes and they were cooked perfectly per our temperature request. I also really enjoyed my garlic mashed potatoes. All in all, I definitely enjoyed the experience at Marty's. I do believe that next time we'll return at a less busy time, as we really did have to wait awhile for service. I also really preferred the downstairs bar area to the upstairs dining area. It looks like there is some dinner seating in the bar, so I will probably request a seat in the bar just to round off the great experience. All in all, a great place to go!

Yelp
Decent Supper Club to go on a Sunday night when most clubs are closed. We had a reservation for a party of 10 for which they managed to sit us together. The décor is nice and rustic which is a plus. The food was very good (extremely large portions). 6 of us had the walleye, 2 pork chop and 2 the chicken marcella. The pan seared walleye was excellent, but my husband had the stuffed walleye which he said ruined the fish with too much sauce so as to drown out the walleye flavor. Me and my son had the chicken Marcella which was excellent. The big negative was the noise level and the service. Our server took our drink orders. When she got to my husband he ordered Macallans scotch and he tried to tell her he wanted it with only a splash of water, she made it obvious (as she walked off) that she did not care. The drink arrived in a glass full of ice. We told her that was not what we ordered and we wanted a splash of water. The drink returned and the good scotch was ruined with a large amount of water (we think they simply strained the drink into a new glass). Also, only a few of us had appetizer and salad plates bussed. With that said, all in all I would go back with a smaller group.

Yelp
my partner and i went for dinner this evening i had the pork chop one of the best i have ever had thick and juicy cook perfect. my partner had the chicken picata very bland no taste at all chicken tasted like it was boiled.. service was great have been going there for years the new owners have really fixed it up very comfortable and clean. they might want to get a better prosecco wasn't very good

Yelp
Enjoyed a fabulous meal in a supper club atmosphere amidst the covid staff shortage! Very impressed. We used to come here years ago but stopped dining here due to a small menu full of fried foods. Recently discovered their current diverse menu and had to come back. Plenty of red meat, chicken, veal, fish, and a few veggie options. We were so excited and it fulfilled all of our expectations and then some. Hubs enjoyed a delicious Manhattan, drink menu is large. I enjoyed a kiddie cocktail-they even offer three flavors (blue raspberry, green apple, cherry) how cool. He devoured the filet with garlic mashed and I enjoyed their veggie carbonara- very creamy and tasty, plenty to take home. We both loved our meals! Also super impressed with the staff. Even during the current severe up north staff shortage our waitress, Nikita (sp) made us feel like it was a regular fully staffed Sunday! They were obviously very busy but we did not suffer. She was efficient yet attentive-even heard me wish my husband a happy birthday and brought a delicious strawberry cheesecake. Thanks Nikita! We will be back. FYI they used to have a nice salad/soup bar but obviously aren't doing that due to the pandemic. You get a very small tray with crackers but also get bread and either soup or salad. Making it safe yet still enjoyable :)

Yelp
Wisconsin supper club that was everything I hoped.... Great atmosphere, location, drink selections and menu. Started with the Marty's old fashioned.... So good. Dinner I had the filet, cooked perfectly with mushrooms, asparagus, salad with home made french, and an fantastic relish tray. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This review makes me sad, because Marty's has a lot going for it. It's a vintage supper club 10 minutes north of Minocqua. They have live piano music and all the supper club classics. On the plus side - excellent rumaki app and a very tender filet, served perfectly medium. My husband gave his whitefish and brandy old fashioned two thumbs up as well. Our server was very busy but was really nice and kept the Misters drink filled. The minus - a weak relish tray (just crackers and a spread - no veggies), upcharging for "baked onion" soup when the baked part was a slice of toasted baguette with a sneeze of cheese. I'd you're going to charge me, and we're in WI, there better be a scandalous amount of cheese on that crock. Most importantly, I can't support a place that AGGRESSIVELY flouts Covid restrictions. Not a single staffer or other customer had masks on. Tables were absolutely packed together and items were shared between tables (menus etc) with no cleaning in between. It appears the owners want to pretend this pandemic is a joke. Frankly, if they don't give a shit about customer and employee safety, I don't give a shit about writing a good review. I'm sorry that we stayed and gave them our money. It was 8pm and there wasn't much else available, but I won't ever go back.

CaThy W.

Yelp
Drinks were good walleye fingers were ok, soups were average. The small tuna macaroni salad and horseradish spreadable cheese was the best part of my meal. These two items were delicious on the snack tray I would have been happy with this. The liver pate was meh, no flavor like back home. Ordered the chicken Marsala and it wasn't Marsala it was more like creamy garlic sauce with no hint of Marsala. My filet came out well done when I asked for medium. By the time I got my replacement steak I wasn't hungry anymore. Steak doesn't have much flavor, no drizzled butter or Demi on the plate either. Pretty blah. Probably won't be back. Our waitress also didnt like the fact that we asked her to come back because we werent ready to order, she turned around and left in a huff. For the prices they charge they want to give me an attitude? I dont think so. I'll go back to Blink Bonnie instead, we are always treated with such great attitudes there, and waaaay better steak!

Ted T.

Yelp
Another awesome dinner and experience at Marty's North , thanks Andrea. Our server, a seven year veteran, Audrey, is simply the best. Our table enjoyed escargot and bacon wrapped dates for appetizers; perch, walleye, chef Jason's Chicken Carbonara, and Chicken Oscar. Everything was excellent, complemented by deliciously fresh house salads and their roasted pepper, cream soup. Of course, plenty on adult beverages were enjoyed - especially "Wisconsin in a glass" , the Marty Old Fashioned - delicious. Thanks again Andrea and Audrey for making our evening special.

David B.

Yelp
Made it a point to stop by and have dinner since it was on our list of places to go. Great setting in the woods and a gorgeous bar upon entering. Had a couple cocktails at the bar for a pregame and was seated later (but we were early fir our reservations). Nice dinner menu and went with a steak which was quite good. Waited for the dessert menu but the waitress just plopped the bill down and that was that - ok then.

Pat P.

Yelp
Excellent ribs when they are on menu! Everything is wonderful - don't forget the ice cream drinks!!! Service is fantastic!

Anne Marie J.

Yelp
So bad. Manager, who goes by the name of Andrea, is extremely rude. Would not let me order a burger because Im "too old". I'm sorry, I didn't know I was too old to eat a cheese burger. She then told us that supper clubs do not serve cheeseburgers to adults. But, processed to allow the tables next to us to order burgers. Kick Rocks. They also brought out escargot without any snail in it. When we asked to talk to the manger at the end of dinner, she was extremely rude and told us to go eat at the barn instead. What manger tells this customers to go eat at a barn.

Pam M.

Yelp
Will never go back! Hostess treated us horribly and they double-charged our credit card. If you want to risk going here, be careful to check your bill and your receipt and don't expect good customer service!

Gwen B.

Yelp
Loved the bar! Worst perch I have ever had! Very fishy ! Breading to thick. Will go back to the restaurant but won't ever have the perch again. So disappointed!

Rudy D.

Yelp
About half the food we got was okay. However, the service was so abysmal that I barely even care about the food. The waitress was so snotty, right off the bat. She was still talking to someone, as she approached the table, so we just waited for her attention. And she turned to us, finally, with the most irritated look on her face. When she brought the drinks, she slammed them down. When we sent back dry, tough salmon, I thought she would get her eyes stuck in the back of her head with the dramatic eye roll she gave. The whole dinner just went like that. I have no desire to pay for expensive food and be treated like that. Yes, I gave her a shitty tip. I can't reward that kind of disrespectful behavior.

Tony G.

Yelp
Everything was great! True supper club traditional feel. Great soup, good fresh rolls, and the roast duck was cooked perfectly!

Gary C.

Yelp
This is a classic Wisconsin supper club with a great bar and great service in the dining room.

Joe F.

Yelp
Always good food and service. You treat them well and they reciprocate. Prime rib last time great, drinks are a good pour.Nice stop you won't be disappointed.

Cecile L.

Yelp
Right now we're giving Marty's only two stars, not that we don't love their menu but because of their disregard for their staff and patron's health during the COVID-19 pandemic! They have not changed their seating for social distancing and do not require masks for anyone! That's a shame.

Arthur M.

Yelp
Smokey's was not able to take us, so we headed to my favorite Wisconsin supper club ever instead, Marty's Place North. This restaurant has been open for multiple generations and I have been going for the last 5+ years: I love this restaurant. I do not love this restaurant because it's perfect: I love the food, the staff, the history and the consistency of the experience. We had an awesome relish tray (they make their own horseradish cheese and smoked liver spreads) and amazing entrees of fish and steak. For dessert (kind of important to me), I had my heart set on the Strawberry Schaum Torte. I ordered it when the steak was still on the table. The server returned minutes later to inform me that they were sold out due to the July 4th busy week, and waiting to set more meringue for the following day. I said it's ok, how about vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and strawberries (love that Wisconsin dairy). Minutes later, the server returned to say they had no more strawberries. This was the point where a lesser restaurant would be out of options. "You can sit at the bar, but you can't use DNA to bring dinosaurs back to life!" As in Jurassic Park, hospitality finds a way. The server returned with a complimentary sundae using the JUICE AND LAST COUPLE BERRIES from the last strawberries they'd had, and it SATISFIED MY CRAVING. Technically perfect, no, but full of heart. Just imagine I'm gazing at my cane, with the tip containing a mosquito frozen in amber... HOSPITALITY FINDS A WAY.

Anne S.

Yelp
What an incredible meal! Started with perfect old fashioned, appetizers (rumaki...chestnut and chicken livers) then the relish tray and cream of chicken and rice soup. Excellent, all of it. Our main courses were the shrimp scampi (very large shrimp) ribeye, cooked to perfection, filet, also cooked to perfection and so tender it could be cut with a butter knife, and the chicken carbonara, rich and creamy. Portions were large and the price was right! Excellent service...and I can be a pill sometimes! Will definitely go back when we are in Minocqua again. Wish we could give six stars!

Robb D.

Yelp
Very good father's day meal hear today. Miss the salad bar from years ago. Started with Rumaki that was very good. My wife had a salad with blue cheese dressing that was good. Nice greens mix with a few other veggies added. Love the sesame buds and blue cheese crumbles added. I had the baked French Onion soup that was good. We both had veal Wiener schnitzel. It was good but could have been a bit crispier. We both had the spatzel that we should have asked how it was served. I would have liked it without the gravy added. Good Old Fashion at the bar. All staff were friendly and professional. We'll be back. Probably on a Saturday when they have roast duck.

Pat S.

Yelp
Outstanding staff, service and menu! This place is a gem! Have been here before and will continue to come back! It's too bad with all the "Karen's" giving poor reviews for their "COVID practices." To go to a restaurant and give it a poor review because of how they operate when you can visually see how they operate before you sit down is pretty pathetic in my opinion. All you "Karen's" out there have the option to turn around and go eat at home! To all the staff at Marty's, keep up the great work!!!!

Rick P.

Yelp
Bar is great, white fish fishy. Chicken satay, dark meat? A bit too close for social distancing.

Dick M.

Yelp
Such a Wisconsin staple. Supper clubs are one of my favorite things about Wisconsin. But too often they aren't maintained or the menus remain stagnant. Marty's does a fantastic job of maintaining old Wisconsin charm while bringing fresh and updated menu items to the table. Their old fashions are amazing, and so are their margaritas on the rocks. The food was fantastic, I try something new every time I'm there and am always impressed. I had the broiled haddock and couldn't believe how great it was. It's truly high restaurant quality far and above most Wisconsin supper clubs. I love this place and will eat on every trip to the Minocqua area.

Kare H.

Yelp
The food is pricey for the northwoods but you can make a reservation so we went to the restaurant several times. The food was pretty good.... BUT the last time we went manager in charge was EXTREMELY nasty to us. We had a party of four on a very cool evening. We went into the restaurant and they were running the air conditioner so it was colder inside than out. They wanted to seat us at a table under the fan where it was even colder. We politely asked to be seated at another table but we were told in no uncertain terms that no other options were available (the restaurant was more than half empty). We pointed to several other available tables and were told "this one is promised to another customer", this one is a six top", "this one is in a closed section" (what? Five feet away?), etc. When my friend asked to see the manager she was told that the nose ring seating person was the manager in charge and to please leave. For asking for a different table in a half empty restaurant???? DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE! Very nasty people.

Maxine T.

Yelp
This is one of the best supper clubs up north! This was my second time here and it is always a delight. Our server Keri was very nice and for a big group our food came out pretty quick. They serve a relish tray and basket of buns and mini muffins before hand. I am in love with the dill dip that comes on the relish tray, it also comes with veggies, crackers, liver patay, and horseradish cheese dip. For dinner, I got the 6oz filet Oscar style with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. All of their salad dressings are made in house, the garlic peppercorn was very good! The filet was cooked to perfection and I would recommend the au gratin instead of the mashed, but the mashed was still good. I also got to try the lobster tail and I love that they bring a little burning candle holder with melted butter for the lobster. Everything was outstanding!!!

Van W.

Yelp
Beautiful character here. Great service. Delicious food. It was German night and the schnitzel was great. We were visiting from Ky. Place is loaded with charm and ambiance. Highly recommended

Yelp
I think Marty's Place North might be my FAVORITE spot for excellent dinner and drinks in the Northwoods. Despite my family being from the area, and visiting the Northwoods countless times, I had never been to Marty's before this past weekend. We arrived to the bar well before our reservation and sat at the bar for a few drinks. The bartender was friendly, fast, and attentive. When we sat down for or actual reservation, the waitress was warm and welcoming. She brought us refills on drinks quickly, and delivered the relish tray (a true supper club staple) which was filled with two delicious cheeses, tuna salad, excellent dill dip, an assortment of crackers and veggies. My brother and father both had the french onion soup to accompany their meal and raved about how delicious it was. While I was nibbling on my salad (standard fare, fresh and pretty simple...can't ask for much more), and the freshly baked bread and blueberry muffins came out, I thought I died and went to supper club heaven. In fact, if I could get a giant case of those muffins delivered to me in Chicago, that'd be great :) I chose to have the roast duck since our waitress boasted about how world famous it is and I am SO incredibly glad I did! First of all, you receive an entire half-roast duck. The skin is crispy, the meat is well seasoned, and the duck was roasted so well that it literally fell off the bone. In fact, one simple twist of the leg bone and it came cleanly off of the meat. I took our waitresses' recommendation and had my roast duck with the wild rice which was delicious. A few other family members had the mashed potatoes (which they enjoyed) and my mother decided to have her perfectly cooked filet with the au gratin potatoes. All in all, I can't wait to get back up north and visit Marty's Place again and try all of the other offerings. While it might be a bit of a drive from Minocqua, I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a traditional Wisconsin supper club.

Shelly Z.

Yelp
The food is excellent. I had the chicken oscar and it was wonderful. My friend had the chicken marsala dish and she loved it too. It took about 25 minutes for us to get our drinks. My margarita on the rocks was pretty darn weak for $10. We were there for about two hours, only because we're waiting on the waitress constantly, and we never were asked if we wanted refills on any of our drinks. While she was taking our order she stopped and said she had to go to the kitchen because an order was up and should be right back. We appreciated that. But later when our hot food order was in her hands, she put it down on a tray and proceeded to help the neighboring table that had brought their own bottle of wine and she stopped to help them open it while our food was sitting on the tray for a couple minutes. We waited forever to get the check. Meanwhile, table of 2 next to us turned very angry because they'd been sitting there for a very long time waiting to pay their check. This waitress was busy. However, if you're going to take reservations fir x amount of people, make sure you can take care of them. Waitress also navigated dining room without ever looking at her other tables! The guy next to us was actually standing for no less than 4-5 minutes trying to flag her down while she was moving about dining room. We had to ask white haired busser to help us by getting change for tip so we could pay and leave, to which she went to bar and came back with a $10 and some change for each of us. We needed change for tips for each of our bills. Great food. Worst service I've had anywhere in at least a decade. Too bad.

Cathy D.

Yelp
We were so looking forward to eating here, drove in from our cabin on Little St Germain. We were greeted by a nice woman (who we later found out was the owner Andrea) she seated us and Gina our waitress took our order for drinks. She then brought our little relish tray with no relish but the pasta salad and breadsticks were good. She cleaned that up and still no drinks. We were seated so we could see the bar. One bartender was talking to her friends while making (very slowly) grasshoppers that looked great but not making any other drinks. The owner Andrea was back also talking with the same group of customers then she sat down still not making our drinks. Then 4 others came in sat at the bar the owner got up made them drinks and then was about to sit back down. Our waitress brought our salads and said they are working on your drinks. She went to the owner and asked if she could make our drinks, she was annoyed and then yelled at your waitress to tap beer for other and then noticed other drinks that needed to be made. She made all of those drinks then finally got to ours after she yelled to our waitress not in a nice tone "you get the olives they are by you" We both ordered martinis, mine was fine but the other one was a dirty martini it was TERRIBLE not drinkable. We mentioned it to our waitress she took it back to the owner and the owner said it's grey goose don't know what to tell you here's the bottle I poured it of of. Our waitress came back and said it grey goose....needless to say we just left it there. Dinner finally came the steak was good the scallops were ok. When we're finished I wanted to try an after dinner drink they had on their menu, salted but roll. Our waitress Gina who was amazing and put up with a lot of abuse from the owner was waiting to get my drink from their menu and a glass of wine and the owner was slamming bottles on the bar acting like I asked for something totally off the wall vs something from their menu. It was good but not worth the anxiety and of watching the owner make it. My friend had been here a few times before with nothing but fond memories of this place, but even she said not sure she would ever go back. Save your money and time and go to one of the many other great options in the area that treat their employees and customers with a little respect.

Yelp
Now I feel like we ate at a WI supper club after eating at Marty's! Finally got the relish tray I expected! And from the friendly greeting from the owner, Andrea when we came in to the last thank you from our attentive waitress Kristine, everything was great! Nice bottle of wine, yummy relish tray, excellent salad with sesame sticks and great steaks! Who could ask for more. I had the NY Strip and my husband had the Filet Mignonette Marsala and both were juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The decor was tasteful. We highly recommend Marty's!

Yelp
This place was beautiful. A true supper club vibe from the live piano, to the lighting, to the decor. The menu was perfect. The drinks we lovely. Our family had such a nice time showing our friends a true Northwood supper club experience.

Yelp
Visiting the area from out of State and found this place on Yelp. the reviews were good but the website was on point! Im a sucker for a good website. Upon arrival you are surrounded by a housing community so the parking is sort of odd, minus that the restaurant is log cabin style and inside carried that style as well. As we walked in the host asked us if we had a reservation which we did not so she looked at her book and then said follow me. We walked up some stairs to the main dining area and were seated by a window. the host came within 5 minutes and took our drink order (mojito and old fashion). We also ordered the bacon wrapped dates and being a supper club style they bring you a small plate with liver pate and horseradish cheese dip that you eat with sesame sticks for crackers. Thee drinks were delivered by the bartender and then came our appetizer which was GREAT! For our main entree we ordered Chef Jason's Creamy Carbonara with chicken (it was lightly breaded), OMG it was AMAZING!!!! It was a little salty which I love salt so it definitely didn't need additional spices. My fiancé ordered the Shrimp Scampi and it was good too but the Carbonara is the way to go!!!!! During dinner the waitress checked on us a few times (perfectly timed). We ordered a second round of drinks and just enjoyed the night out. We arrived about 5:30pm and within 30-45 min it started to get really busy. The bar is separate from the main dining and I'm not sure the seating situation other than some bar stools at the main bar counter. I would say the host was not friendly and seemed to have been a little overwhelmed by the reservations or maybe wasn't having a great day, it didn't change my mind of the restaurant just an observation that this woman's energy is the first impression/experience of your establishment.

Yelp
Love this place! It is the perfect Northwoods supper club. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, including the patrons! Food and service were fantastic! You start with the typical cheese/crackers and follow with soup/salad and bread. The spaetzle was very good and worth the up charge instead of a potato. The au gratin potato was just as good. The dessert drinks were a great ending to a fantastic meal!

Yelp
We had dinner at Marty's on Friday, Sept 18th. While the food was good, we were disappointed that the staff did NOT wear masks, there was no social distancing between tables and ceiling fans circulating air through the restaurant. We should have left but didn't. We will not return until Marty's updates its COVID protocols.

Yelp
Like many people have said, this is a typical Northwoods supper club. What's the difference between a supper club and a restaurant? Large portions here. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and more than I could finish. The baked potato and complementary appetizer bar just added to the gluttony. Call for reservations or get there early to avoid a long wait.

Yelp
I'll have to say I was excited to eat here, unfortunately it started bad from the beginning. The tall lady/hostess was very rude and unprofessional. She greater us like we were bothering her. We told her we had a reservation, she said ok, never asked our name just escorted us toward our table. I say towards because she stop short of our table by about 10-15 feet and pointed there it is, enjoy your meal and walked away. We asked if we could sit at the 6 top round, and she said that's for reservations. We told her we have a reservation could it possibly be ours. She walked away. We were greeted about 10 minuets later by a nice your man and asked for our drink order. The food was just ok, the hostess really put a bad taste in our mouth from the beginning. Very cool atmosphere, lots of potential .

Yelp
I love the walleye here. It rivals any I've ever had. No tvs blaring and distracting, just good fellowship. It Would have been nice if the menu noted an upcharge for the onion soup

Yelp
What a great place in the Northwoods. Delicious apps, great entrees and giant sized wine pours! Great for dinner or drinks. Awesome!

Yelp
A girlfriend took me there for my birthday dinner a couple of weeks ago and it was enjoyable. While we waited for our table we had pomegranate martinis at the bar and they were amazing. I don't really know how long we waited because I was really just enjoying the the atmosphere. Once seated we enjoyed a relish tray. I really loved the smoked liver spread and then, a salad made with fresh vegetables. I ordered the chicken Cesar and a glass of sauvignon blanc to go with. The wine was pretty enjoyable but my dinner was just OK. It was a good flavor overall I just wasn't digging the texture of the chicken. Overall, I would go back and try other foods and for the overall atmosphere. My server was sweet and bought out a sundae with a candle for my birthday and everyone was very nice there.

Yelp
Free free free verbal abuse from management. Visited Marty's middle of July, bar service was slow ,cocktails were adequate, relish trays were a little skimpy for seven people and the food was ok. My wife and I split a meal like we almost always do and a bottle of wine and also an extra salad. When we got our bill I noticed there was a $6 split plate charge for our shared chicken alfredo dish. Which I had to ask two times for an empty plate for. When I had the person in charge come over to the table I questioned the additional charge on the bill. I asked why there was the additional charge ,as there was nothing printed on the menu stating that there was an extra charge for splitting a meal, or did the waitress mention it when we ordered. She said flatly that that was policy and no she would not adjust it and continue to argue with us.. When my wife mentioned this would be noted on social media she yelled back across the restaurant over the other diners, saying go ahead, tell all your friends. So friends I'm telling you this person, her name was something like Adele, could have been the owner, because I don't believe anyone else would have the hired help a ct as rude as that. Terrible attitude and display of rudeness for the whole restaurant to see and hear! Well, "the customer is always right" in this case right out the door never to return !
