Pros: Welcoming and helpful staff. Location is near many restaurants, convenience stores, and shops. We chose this hotel because it's near our dive pier where we met our dive boat each morning. The price is reasonable​ and the rooms are clean​. The atmosphere is quirky and cozy with many cool antique items, along with a lovely courtyard with tables and chairs. There is a communal kitchen with a stove, fridge and microwave. There is a full breakfast but it starts at 7:30am ​which was too late for us. Cons: The shower dripped constantly throughout our stay. Also, the shower water doesn't stay within the shower but comes out towards the toilet. We experienced several times with loud people talking in the courtyard when we were trying to sleep. Our air conditioner was cold enough but didn't take the humidity out of our room. Our sons' room was better though. The convenient location also brings with it some downsides - namely, people constantly harassing you when you go out the front door trying to sell you something. It got old really fast. This is no reflection on the hotel, but just an fyi.

I've stayed at this hotel several times over the years. It is always clean, and budget friendly. I prefer staying in cheap hotels, because I don't spend much time in my room. Basically just need a place to sleep and shower. I dislike the big resorts . I prefer to stay in town and walk everywhere I need to go. Great location, just off the town square. May need to use a translator app or speak Spanish.

We stayed for 5 nights and booked the studio and a normal room. The studio has a well equipped kitchen and fridge so if you wanted to save money that's a good option. The central location was very convenient for us. Short walk from the ferry terminal. The rooms were very clean with quiet AC and friendly staff. Breakfast was not great but there are so many options only 5 minutes walk away. Our favourite was probably Corazon Contento.

Great hotel at a great price. It's very centrally located right on the square. The room was always clean, the beds were reasonably comfortable, and the AC worked great! The service here is also top notch. I asked for a late checkout, because we were diving in the morning before taking the ferry over to Playa. They let me check out at 3pm for no extra fee, so I could take a shower and get into dry clothes. Highly recommend everything about this hotel! We will definitely be back.

I just returned from a 28 day stay at the Hotel Mary Carmen and couldn't be happier about it. The hotel is very nice, clean and the location is great. There is a community kitchen available to all to use if desired. The staff is awesome and they do an excellent job. I plan to spend more time there next year and I highly recommend this place. If you are in Cozumel to dive, as many people are, this hotel is a one block from a great dive shop. This is not a resort, but I highly recommend it for someone wanting a nice room with a great price.

Enjoyed my week at Hotel Mary Carmen. Well worth the price. Quiet, nice AC, good location, friendly employees, good breakfast, clean with antique decor. Staying downtown was fun. A herd of turtle lives in the courtyard and will come to visit you. I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice mexican hotel in an unbeatable location in the centre of town. Nice room with comfortable beds, ac and a safe. The staff is friendly and accomodating, I got help and recommendations for a tour to Punta Sur for example. As a solo female traveller I felt safe in this hotel which is always appreciated of course. I can really recommend it and if I return to Cozumel this is my first choice.

Location was great, close to the strip, off the main roads but close. Near restaurants, Central Park, and convince stores. Everyone was extremely helplful and polite. We used their recommended Snorkel tour which was great as well. Nayeli helped us find a moto taxi to the airport, much cheaper than a taxi and fun experience. The young man was always very helpful with suggestions and directions; the breakfast offered there was delicious and filling, great for the price. Rooms were clean, the place is beautiful and home feeling it was wonderful.
