Mary's Southern Cooking

Well, Mary's food puts me in the mind of Piccadilly. Like it does what it does and nothing too special. The greens had a deep rich green color, but then you look closer and taste you know they are from a can. And honestly the added sugar trying to dress them up makes it worse. If you are cutting corners on vegetables maybe don't cook them. Mac and cheese...nothing special. Fish wasn't straight out the grease. I get you're trying to save time. But I think you lose out in quality. Fish was good luke warm nonetheless. I will say nothing was too salty. I would focus on a smaller menu and fresh fresh fresh vegetables. I must say that cornbread was amazing. The strawberry cake was so so. Staff was friendly. Lots of space to sit. The owner was trying to get the 2 cashiers to say welcome to Mary's. It was like pulling teeth. Only one register was open and 3 people were in the area. They could have taken turns saying it. Don't give people a chance to ruin your business just because they are related to you. Find you some folks that can embrace your vision or do it anyway.

The food was EXCELLENT! The portions were AMAZING! The service was OUTSTANDING! I will come back EVERY TIME I'm in town!

Ya'll.....!!!!! Winner winner chicken dinner... literally! I review ALOT of places and this one right here.....this one, it's a hit!! Run...dont walk...dont crawl....dont skip... RUN to get your plate! We are staying in Fairhope and needed some food with flavor, and this place was suggested, so we made the trip over, and when I say I waddled out...I mean I could have used a wheel barrel! We were greeted by Felicia upon entering with a cheerful hello and approached by Missy in line to inquire what we wanted to drink. Everything smelled amazing, and there were lots of choices. Heres the low down on what we had: Baked chicken : finger licking, fall off the bone, well seasoned and GONE....I ate every bite and my husband tried to steal mine as well as his. Candied yams : super sweet and sticky, just the way grandma would make! Mac and. Cheese: i believe it's baked and full of cheese. (Take a bite of mac and cheese and add a piece of yam to it and eat together in one bite. Thank me later) Cornbread muffin: a little dry but overall tasted great Cabbage: My favorite side!! This stuff is the truth! If you're on the fence about visiting, please give them a try and get off that fence! (It's not very comfy up there anyhow!) 5 stars for Miss Mary!! My husband said this food was so good he wanted to write ya'll a ticket! 😅😅😅😋😋😋 Oh, and BTW, dont even flinch at the price...its worth every penny and more

This food was terrible! Me and my kids couldn't eat it all, for the price of $35 it isn't worth it! The cornbread was hard as a rock! The Mac and cheese and rice and pork chop all tased the same and all was bland! No seasoning. Don't waste your time or your money!!

Run don’t walk! Omg the food is soo delicious! This is my 4th time coming to the restaurant. The customer service is top tier whether you are dining in or taking out. It is such a family friendly environment and it is so clean. I wish the business success and prosperity!

My only complaint was they didn't have unsweetened tea or many diet drinks. Great food!!

Loved this place! Food was delicious and everyone was so sweet! I was mad I didn’t get that red velvet cake! I know they sell out fast.

I really like the larger establishment. I haven’t been to Mary’s in years because I live out of town. Service was great. Food was good. I got the baked chicken. I was upset that the only pieces that they had were breast. My husband got the fried chicken and said it delicious. The cabbage and green beans were also delicious. Yes I would go again if they have a variety of baked chicken next time.
