Le Mas de l'Espérance (Garons, Occitanie) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In grounds surrounded by pines, olive trees and fruit trees (the owners are also arboriculturists), this noble house from 1780 is worth seeing! It is spacious, has a cosy feel, private terraces in each guestroom, and even an Indonesian lodge with private Jacuzzi." - Tablet Hotels

Where can we start. Our stay at Mas de l’Esperance was perfection. From the moment we arrived to the warmest of welcomes. As a big family our rooms were perfect, everything we could have wished for as a young family. My mother also stayed with us and had the most perfect stay. Both rooms had everything you could ask for. The family suite had 2 connecting rooms and 2 bathrooms in a lovely location. My mum stayed in the main part of the house and it was equally as breathtaking. Fully renovated and extremely clean and comfortable. We arrived late afternoon and straight away our request for champagne was met. We then enjoyed the most delicious meal, as we did each evening we were there. Breakfast was also superb. Mostly homemade or locally sourced ingredients. Nothing was too much for the hosts. We traveled with 2 x 5 year olds and a 10 month old and every need was met with no question. The heated pool was a dream and we spent a very relaxing day around it. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Mas de l’Esperance. Our stay was absolutely perfect.

A beautiful place in a very strange location. The hotel is situated between a factory and a small airport and I have to say we were slightly apprehensive as we approached the very imposing gates that provide entry tp the property. It is really not a very beautiful area, but once inside the grounds one finds oneself in a truly beautiful area of gardens, pool, and old mansion house. The rooms were spacious and very well appointed, and the dinner served there was outstanding. The place is family owned and run and they do a great job. We only stayed one night but one could easily relax there for a few days.

We had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at this spectacular country estate B&B. The gated grounds are expansive and graced with majestic trees and gardens with horses grazing near by.|The property has been owned and operated by the current owners for over 30 years. The rooms are meticulously clean, spacious and modern. Guests are provided with robes , slippers and Occtaine toiletries. This Villa B&B has what seems like an Olympic size swimming pool and separate hot tub facilities . It has 6 rooms within the main Villa complex which also provides an elegant dining area, library sitting room, fountain patio, and outdoor breakfast patio. The breakfasts provided were the most exquisite we have ever encountered in our extensive travels all over France on this and other occasions. The dinners likewise were superbly prepared comprable to a 5 star restaurant at half the cost. Best of all, this refuge of class and tranquility, makes you feel as welcome as family due to the friendliness and warmth of Marine, her mother, father and their gentle dogs. We look forward to returning one day to this delicate gem of a country Villa. Thank you for the memories.

We had spent 3 days visiting friends near Alles and wanted somewhere close to the airport for our late morning flight back to the UK. Looked on TA and this place could not be any nearer as it is literally 5 minute drive to the car rental return car park at Nimes Garon airport.|the approach to the hotel is very underwhelming as you drive through an area next to the airport that is currently under development but in the near distance you see a large wooded area which seems out of context with the surroundings. After spotting the small sign pointing to the driveway entrance we approached the gated grounds where we gained access via the security intercom.|The short driveway goes up to a beautiful building, an old hunting lodge, standing in it's own private grounds surrounded by trees and is a total contrast to the area we had just driven through. It is like a peaceful haven of tranquility with well maintained lawns and flower beds.|We were greated by the owners daughter Marine, who spoke excellent English, which was great as my French is not good. Shown to our room which was very contemporary in it's decor and design and had French windows leading onto a small private terrace overlooking the gardens. the room was excellent and had a built in Hamman in the bathroom. usual facilities for tea, coffee etc.|As it was a Sunday evening there was only a set menu prepared and cooked by Catherine, the owner, but it was great and just what we wanted.|This place has been lovingly restored and has many features and although not cheap it was a perfect afternoon and evening stay before returning home. We made use of the outdoor hot tub and indoor/outdoor pool and I would suggest that the pool may be ready for some refurbishment as it looked a bit tired and there were weeds growing through the tiled floor around the edges. great night's sleep and lovely breakfast in the morning. Running a place of this calibre and quality is not cheap and the owners have obviously made a significant investment in it and that fairly reflects in the charges to stay.|Would stay again without a doubt and it's proximity to Nimes garon airport makes it a no brainer if you are prepared to spend a bit more for your stay.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Mas d’Esperance. It is run by a very warm and welcoming family – Cathy, Lionel and their daughter Marine (who speaks good English). We felt as if we are visiting family or friends! Mas d’Esperance is conveniently located close to many Provence towns and sights – we used it as a base for 6 nights and visited Arles, Avignon, Orange, Pont du Gard, Cassis, Nimes, St Remy, Les Baux and Chateauneuf-du-Pape from there. The territory is well maintained with plenty of trees and plants, a couple of horses, a pony and a donkey. There is a nice heated pool with the roof to protect against the sun. There are 4 nice friendly dogs on the property. The rooms are absolutely phenomenal: very very comfortable bed with the hard mattress, quiet effective climate control, large tastefully furnished room, very large bathroom which has both the tub and a walk-in-shower (and there is even hammam in the shower!). Everything is in mint condition and absolutely great quality. There is a nice touch with slippers and comfortable bathrobes. The breakfast is nice and tasty: two types of juice (apple and apricot – both homemade and yummy), six types of homemade gem, pastry, small crepes, eggs the style you want them, cheese and charcuterie platter. You can also dine there – one of the better meals we had in France (you need to give notice in the morning). All in all, our experience has been extremely positive.

We came here as we were booked into Restaurant Alexandre and this was the best rated local hotel. ||||The room was spectacular, beautifully fitted out and excellent quality furniture. ||||The grounds are nice, and there is large swimming pool and hot tub for the guests to use. ||||Breakfast was a feast in the courtyard, hot and cold options, and home made jams. ||||The staff here were very welcoming and friendly. ||||Also worth noting Restaurant Alexandre will collect and drop you off if you are staying here, free of charge, a great benefit.

Looking for a lovely place to stay in the area? Look no more! ||This lovely property is really calm, service is very friendly and discreet, food is really good, rooms are spacy, clean and have a great design. ||This is small family-run hotel in french cuntryside, with few really friendly dogs, some horses, big garden and swimming pool. Breakfast is really good, but dinner is absolutely worth trying (previous booking required) with fresh local ingridients, amazing cheese and great wine selection. Dinner is priced really reasonably and provides a good price-quality ratio. ||Would go back in a heartbeat! 😊||P. S. Dinner at the hotel is a must!

A group of five friends, we spent three very pleasant days at the Mas in June. The property started life as a hunting lodge for Italian royalty. Owners Cathy and Lionel have exquisitely renovated the building, turning the horse stables into brick vaulted-ceiling rooms (suite Sucree-Salee) and giving a resolutely contemporary feel to the rooms in the main building and to the common areas. The two-room suites are actually two large, independent rooms. The owners have kept alive the link of the property with their large orchards of apple, cherries, peach and apricots. You find the local produce on the breakfast table. The swimming pool is large, warm and covered; a cute enclosed external jacuzzi is also an enjoyable spot. This is a family-run operation and Cathy, Lionel and their daughter contribute a lot to the enjoyment of a stay at the Mas. The property is actually closer to Nimes (11 km) than to Arles (18 km), and near the airport of Garons. (The signage is good from the airport, but it is quite easy to miss the right turn on the unpaved road at the end, just before reaching a Carrefour logistics centre.)
