Interesting restaurant. Not because it's interesting, but because of its style of service and food.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel this was attached to on our trip across country and although we looked for options that were open in this area, timing more or less dictated our choice to eat here. Reviews were scattered but we needed a meal, so we decided to grab a bite. Service was decent, but not good. The prices were very high considering everything outside the fact that it was a Hilton Curio hotel, which seemed like the only way they could justify them. If I'm being completely honest, we wanted to grab food in the surrounding area but everything closes VERY early and we were left with almost no alternatives.
We went to get sat and were told the bar would get us our food the fastest, but we watched two bartenders at a bar of maybe ten seats spend more time closing out checks than they should have before acknowledging us. One of the bartenders saw us, and rather than engage, asked the other bartender if we had already been taken care of. Whatever. We knew we were about half an hour away from the kitchen closing and we came ready to order quickly to accommodate that. Our drinks were delivered promptly despite the very robotic welcome from the male bartender that seemed like he was going through the motions. Drinks were fine (pisco sour and a negroni.)
We ordered the wedge salad, the bread plate, the double fried wings and the salmon entree. The bread plate came with a hatch chili hummus that was, honestly, one of the better hummus that I've had. The tomato jam that it came with was also very good. The wings were decent and the portion was pretty fair considering the price. The wedge salad was insultingly small (a quarter of a head of iceberg, literally two halved cherry tomatoes, a strip of bacon at best but more than likely bagged bacon pieces, and the onions were a combination of caramelized and a single strip of raw red onion (see the picture.) The salmon entree had good flavor but was a very small portion of the protein although the setup was tasty. Tasty setup but it was missing one of the listed sides (asparagus) which we were not told they were out of until the dish was delivered and we inquired about it. Instead we were given extra arugula. How nice of them. The cheapest item on the plate.
Service was less than what you would expect from a Hilton hotel of this caliber in just about every fashion. Food was decent at best, but that's being generous. There was not a single dish we ordered that had even the slightest flavor profile of "Spanish" food. This was half-decent hotel food at best, but at an exorbitant cost given the expectations.
If I were staying here again, I would pull my car out of valet and drive literally anywhere else to find something that was enjoyable or worth the cost. 0/10 recommend for anyone looking for "Spanish" tapas. 2/10 recommend for anyone trying to enjoy a meal otherwise.
The 3.5 stars they have is overly generous.
