We had a junior suite, which is not at all at the standard of european junior suites. Very small, bathroom just a glass door, so erveryone hears everything... for a young couple maybe a little bit uncomfortable!! The bed very, very hard, we had to sleep on the blanket so its a little more comfortable. Small Pool, Small rooms, untidy garden, 2 *

We had a wonderful 2 day stay here. The staff was lovely- so helpful and offering many wonderful local recommendations. Our room was lovely, peaceful and quiet. The pools were very nice too but the hotel is also not far from the beach. Beautiful breakfast view in the morning! We hope to be back one day soon.

Our walking group spent two glorious days at Mas Vivent. The owners were delightful, the food was absolutely fantastic and the rooms were absolutely perfect! The surrounding village and hillsides are eye candy. This is a simply a beautiful location for a quiet retreat from your busy world. They do not miss any details! Thank you very much, Mas Vivent!

We stayed two nights and tried by choice two different rooms - room 2 and room 6 - and both were really good. Room 2 is on the ground floor, and is a reasonable size, and a window overlooking the back of the hotel. Room 6 is on the first floor and has a terrace that looks over the town and down towards Figueres and the plain behind Roses. Both are really quiet, very clean and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable, and we had two really good nights' sleep. The decoration is well done, and the installations worked very well. Breakfast on the terrace, in absolute silence except the birds singing, overlooking the Roses plain and down to Figueres, while eating fresh fruit, newly squeezed orange jiuice, fabulous cheese (the Can Pujol is to die for!) and cold cuts and great fresh bread: what a way to start the day. Xavier, the owner, and Marc were absolutely wonderful - polite, helpful and full of information: we made two great drives to the coast via forest roads (you will need a 4*4) that took us through fantastic countryside and past great historic sites. They can also organise a cooking experience, wine-tasting and other activities. Everyone was always ready to help, with luggage, bottles of cold water or just a friendly chat: chapeau! We will be back - and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Top notch service with a genuine smile and great food. What else do you want?

We stayed here for a night on our leisurely way from Cadaques to Barcelona. The house is at the far end of a small town perched on a hill overlooking a beautiful Romanesque church and small cork forest. The house is an old farmhouse that has been lovingly (and somewhat lavishly) restored. The rooms are gorgeous, and the beds and linens extremely comfy. Nice as the setting was, the best part of our stay was the dinner. The hosts will make you dinner if you ask in advance. On this night, we were the only guests and so we had a single romantic table looking out over the valley serenaded by swallows. The food that Montse made for us was resolutely local, seasonal, and Catalan. Most magical was the stew of bacon, carrots and fresh favas. It tasted like the breeze that was blowing through the window on us. It really was a magical spot.

The house is wonderful, a modern minimalist design with some of the old building mixed in, set in at very peaceful location. Beautifully simple rooms, comfortable quality beds, very modern and interesting designed en suite. The dinner was delicious and well presented. But not just good food, we really appreciated Monce and Xavi cooking a 5 course meal just for the two of us. A lot of effort and it was a memorable experience, we felt very spoilt and it was much appreciated. Breakfast was a feast of Spanish meats, cheeses plus other choices. The website description is accurate but it can not describe how warm and thoughtful both Monce and Xavi are, such excellent hosts. We can not speak Spanish and their English is not good but we managed as one does. By the way, Xavi makes a very good gin and tonic, to be recommended.
