Mas X Menos in Jacó is a great grocery stop! The store has a huge produce, meat, and frozen section, plus an impressive beer and alcohol selection. It feels very similar to an American grocery store, which made shopping easy and familiar. They also have fresh baked goods and bread that looked and smelled amazing. Self-checkout is available, which was super convenient, and overall the prices were very reasonable. Definitely the place to stock up while in Jacó!

Nice store with good prices. My biggest complaint is the parking. Horrible and worse at night - there is not one light. I left without shopping because I couldn't see the ground getting out of my car. I had trouble even driving out of the lot. Fix the lighting!

Everything you need to feed your family while on vacation. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, wine, beer, frozen goods! All at equal North American pricing. No savings compared to Canadian grocery stores, but it is in a highly visited beach tourist destination. So expect home pricing and home quality! Plenty of staff to help out, however knowing a bit of Spanish will help with communication. Taxis right outdoors and plenty of parking.

It's a good little grocery store. Has a lot. The only downfall is that it's owned by the US company Walmart. I wish I could avoid supporting them. But they seem to be in every corner of the world.

The locals liken this store to Walmart in the states. You can buy a variety of items from food, basic kitchen, laundry, baby supplies and even some souvenirs. Prices are ok. It’s air conditioned. They accept cash and cards. They have a small bakery towards the back. They also have vegan products. I really enjoyed the artwork in their parking lot so if you have a moment definitely check it out!

Good assortment, and regularly good offers - at least according to their price tags. Unfortunately, the prices you’ll find at the shelves are often NOT what you are charged at the counter. Yet again, I was overcharged today! :( Instead of 2200 CRC as ticketed, I was charged 3630 CRC for pasta sauce (see pictures). Unfortunately, I didn’t pay attention and only saw it at home. Yet, the other day, the three cans of tuna were ticketed 3100 CRC as depicted, but instead of this figure I was about to pay the regular price only to find myself in a discussion with the cashier for which I went back to the shelf and took the picture. Then, another time, I was charged 3000 CRC for two cartons of almond milk which according to their price tag cost 1350 CRC each. I have NO clue for how many other items I was overcharged (or possibly undercharged as well), but someone from management urgently needs to check this store, their pricing, and possibly their administrative accounting. On the other hand, I, for sure, need to be more aware of what I am paying - what is a shame since I prefer to trust the places where I go shopping… Update: I have immediately sent an email as requested by their response. I’ve never heard back from them. Seems they not just need to get their pricing right - but also their customer service… :(
