Hands down the best sushi I've had outside of Japan and South Korea, best in Tasmania by far! Beautifully presented dishes, the freshest seafood prepared daily by Masaki in house, amazing care and attention to detail in every aspect. It's clear he puts so much love and pride into making sushi. If you've never tried this place, do yourself a favour and make the trip, just make sure to get in early as daily offerings sell out fast!

The food here is amazing, both visually and tasty. But it is hard to recommend a service which is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until they sell out (between 2 and 3). Although you can order on-line, you get more selection ordering at the counter. This restaurant is in Geeveston, about an hour south of Hobart. You will queue up ahead of time, pick your selection and take away, or eat at a few picnic tables in the front of the shop. But the food is incredibly delicious. Everything is prepared with care and expertise. Visually arresting. Divine taste. Fortunately we were headed for a hike up Hartz Peak on a stunning day, so this was "la pièce-de-resistance". It truly is excellent and deserves all the accolades.

Sushi was delicious, definitely the best Sushi in Tasmania. Highly Recommend the Sushi rolls, Sashimi cups and Sea Urchin. Rice were slightly undercooked and crunchy. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff but service was messy and slow. Queue starts at 11.45 am, be there early to get ahead. It is take away only but there is a nice park behind to enjoy your sushi.

If you have never been to Japan, go to this place and order everything they have. You will save hundreds of dollars, because you don't need to go to Japan anymore 😃. The most amazing nigiris I have had.

Great food, excellent service from friendly staff. Waiting in line was not a problem.. everyone obviously knew that this place is worth the wait! I can highly recommend the salmon wing and Miso soup. I also had the baked pumpkin cheesecake, amazing! Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu Masaaki !

My family and I were really fortunate to have had the opportunity to dine at Masaaki Sushi. Masaaki and his team made our dining experience extremely special. Although extremely busy, the team were very attentive and provided us with an exceptional dining experience. Nigiri and sushi were super fresh. Uni was the the best I have had. Thank you Masaaki and team, can't wait to be back.

Awesome Sushi that would give the best in every Australian capital city a run for their money and possibly win. Loved the tweaks and simple extra efforts to common instead dishes that was a welcome surprise given we were in a small town. We pre ordered and quickly wished we had ordered more or had the patience to stand in the long line to try some other offerings

I heard about Masaaki through a colleague and it is well worth the drive if you’re coming from Hobart. It’s one of the freshest and most delicious sushi I’ve ever had. I was spoilt for choice with the selection at the counter 🙂 Masaaki and the staff were very really friendly, and I thought the pricing is very reasonable for the quality you’re getting. Sad that I’m headed back to Queensland next week otherwise I’d definitely be coming back for more 🤍
