La Passion by Masaya Collection

I had a wonderful 4 night stay here towards my trip around Colombia and it was the perfect place to finally relax and slow down. I had a room on the 2nd floor (or 1st floor for those of us in the UK) which was simple, spacious and clean (I had the best sleep of my stay here). Great shower (note you need to leave it running a few minutes to get the hot water, which I hadn't realised on the first two occasions). The staff were friendly, especially the lovely lady working the late afternoon/evening shift who was adamant she was going to help me with my luggage to my room when I checked in. Breakfast was perfect and included with my room rate. Filtered water is supplied in your room but you can also top up at the reception. The pool was perfect! Nice and relaxing and just what I was looking for. And of course a great location in the old city. The only glitch we had was when I was assured I could have a slightly early breakfast at 7am on the day I was leaving as I needed to head to the airport by 7.30am (breakfast starts at 7.30am). This was checked several times, but on the day the staff didn't turn up and when they did, I was refused breakfast as they weren't ready. Therefore, I recommend not expecting this even if you are told this is possible. Other than that, it was a perfect stay.

Loved our visit here!! Rooms are great, people are great and in a great part of El Centro! So glad we stayed here, they made our Valentine’s Day trip extra special!! Loved the bartender Cindy and our fantastic breakfast every day! They even gave us a very cute sunset meal one of the nights with wine and food!! Can’t recommend enough!!

We ended up coming to Cartagena a day early and needed a hotel for the night. We booked La Passion and was so glad we did. On arrival the receptionist was super friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location and is gorgeous. We were given the room on the ground floor next to the seating/foyer - we were a bit worried at first about the noise that could come from the foyer/seating but we were assured it’s not a dining area so shouldn’t be disturbing - the receptionist was right, this wasn’t an issue. The shower was amazing, outdoor under the leaves in the light well - not a great place for a bathroom if you need it in the night though! Actually the negative was that the noise came from the room above us just walking around, it woke us up in the night when they got back into the room. I get it’s an old building but people walking around upstairs shouldn’t wake you up and be that noisy. Breakfast was good, in a nicely designed space. Lovely rooftop with views over the city. Interconnected coffee shop next door. So 5/5 for the night but I think if we had stayed longer, the rating would be lower if we were getting woken up each night by the room above.

The hotel is honestly amazing. We came in velitas and the staff made sure we could celebrate. Nathaly and Cindy we're so attentive and made our stay so much better. The room is stunning, so much so you don't want to really leave, but it's hard not to do so when you have a great pool with amazing views. You're super close to an Ara and Carulla, but also 5 minutes from the clock tower and anything you might wanna visit. Can't recommend enough. And can't wait to come back!

We had an amazing stay at La Passion for part of our honeymoon! We were in room 7 which was beautiful (also had a huge bed, with great AC, and it always smelt amazing) - and the hotel has a lot of character, a matches the vibe and style of the old town. We loved the rooftop terrace, the pool, and the breakfast area. All of the staff at the reception and in the rooftop/breakfast area were really friendly and accommodating. And the location was great in the heart of the old town!

We had a great experience at La Passion. We came to celebrate New Year as a family of four and all the hotel staff made sure we felt at home. The hotel arranged a complementary New Year toast and invited guests to come together. The swimming pool is amazing in the rooftop. Bit tricky for people with difficulties climbing stairs, otherwise greatly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of options. The location is also perfect — close to everything. It can be a bit noisy at times, but overall it’s a very good hotel and we would definitely stay again.

Fabulous hotel in a fabulous location. Very chic, rooms very individual and grand. Great value for money. Small number of rooms (only 13 I think) so quiet, but plenty of space to spread out. Lovely outdoor but sheltered rooftop area to watch the sunset. Nice pool. Highly recommend.
