When I was asked where I want to go for my birthday meal with my brother? Wagyu ramen was my instant answer.
We are visiting Mashi no Mashi roughly a year into their operations.
We went with the tsukemen and ultra ramen that seems to be the cover of most reviews.
Service is impeccable as queries were answered clearly and I chose my tsukemen to be served hot. (It was a rainy day) My brother chose to have the chili on the side so as not to alter the original broth flavour. However, as our gyoza trio came with 2 sauces, we got confused with all the sauces on the table when it comes to eating! (Figured out in the end, no worries!)
The Ozaki beef was bite tender and easy to eat. As I was interested in the gyoza side, the trip option was exactly what I need. At first my brother wasn't interested, but after he had a few mouthful of his rich beef broth, and upon my portioning, he took half of everything.
Price point is kinda high but with quality comes cost. If you compare it with other ramen around the area, it's about there. The pain comes after the ++.
Overall, we enjoyed our dinner but what distracted us is the udon bar opposite that is commanding long queues while we ate with empty seats around us.
F&B in Singapore is an uphill, tough and dynamic scene. Location aside, which was a bit of trouble to get to from Bugis, they can bring in more affordable options, rice options and the Jiro style I had in Tokyo.
