Maska Mansion Expiatorio Guadalajara

A friend of mine stayed one night before I arrived, I immediately cancelled my reservation as he gave me the heads up on bad hygiene, bed bugs and insects. Taking a look at the reviews, the owner is a bitter, pretentious person, I can't even fathom why this place is still open

I'll stop by again my next Guadalajara visit. Hours at a stretch would go by with no sign of anyone else on the premises. It's an old hacienda, kitchen, refrigerator, couple bathrooms and several rooms scattered around two large interior courtyards, and my own room was 20x30 feet and an 18-foot ceiling furnished with a sofa, a queen sized bed, four wicker chairs around an oak card table, a dresser and a separate room at the back with a refrigerator and a purified water dispenser. Quiet in the way only three foot-thick walls can be quiet. Its a five minute walk from the Cathedral and the Benito Juarez market. But if you need a lot of circles and arrows to find your way around, it may not be for you. Good WiFi.

There are many options in Guadalajara and I wish I had taken one of them instead of Maska. A few hours before my flight, after booking with days ahead and two messages to the hotel, I finally get an answer saying that another guest prolonged their stay so the room is no longer available! Unbelievable, this has never happened before and I travel a lot... and no apologies, I strongly suggest that anyone that wants to stick with their plan should go elsewhere.

I didn't keep the reservation because of the virus in the advertisement they said they had a kitchenette which would have been perfect but when I asked if they had a kitchen period they only had one kitchen for the whole establishment and right now with the virus going on that is not the place to stay

Amazingly Dope architecture. Huge room with giant ceilings right around the corner from a beautiful gothic church and amazing street food.
