This was truly one of our most enjoyable stays in Santa Barbara. The hotel offered a very tranquil and convenient location, with easy access to various dining options. The in-room amenities were exceptional, and we appreciated that everything was newly remodeled. The beds were both clean and comfortable. Overall, this provided a wonderful setting for creating cherished family memories.

Google
Excellent service. Check in was easy and came with free drinks (I don’t drink alcohol, but still a nice gesture). Close to the beach. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Smelled nice. I’d definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Santa Barbara

Location near the beach in a quiet but central spot.||Very good atmosphere and good & attentive ambiance. Beautiful building, in some way Mediterranean influences. Free coffee, water and cookies all the day.||Suite well above its stars. Very functional, clean & well equipped with refrigerator & bar in the room. Maintenance effective.||QPR very good. Parking facilities roomy. Pool clean with jacuzzi and reasonable for swimming and sunbathing. Some minor personal issues; GM very responsive and special thank’s for very effective co-operation.

Great location near Stearn’s Wharf and boardwalk. State Street just 25 min walk away. Hotel is clean, bright and airy. Hotel staff are professional and welcoming. Room was clean and odor-free. Would have given a 5-review except the shower drain wasn’t working - so water from the drain filled the bottom of the shower while in use; and the mattress pad is worn out, which made the bed feel hard.|Resort fee is $6/day - not too bad considering the pool and jacuzzi are great and from 8am-10pm, and there are cookies all day and night available in the lobby. Parking is $18/day but note: Parking on the street is free Mon-Fri (just watch out for street-sweeping days!).|Really enjoyed our stay and we recommend it!

We loved this boutique hotel. The little touches really made a difference. Drinks on arrival, we had sparkling wine. There was coffee, tea & cookies always available. There was also fruit and some oat pots for breakfast. The rooms were stylish and comfortable. The pool and hot tub area were lovely, the hot tub after a day of waking was amazing. The staff are all ao friendly, professional and helpful. The location for the beach area, shops and restaurants is excellent. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay again on our next visit.

Took a short girls trip to Santa Barbara and stayed at this quaint little Inn. The front desk staff were friendly offering a welcome beverage (beer or margarita) for your stay upon arrival. The lobby has complimentary coffee, cookies fresh fruit and instant breakfast on offer 24 hours. Our room was cozy and very quiet as the hotel is located on a side street. Location was perfect as we could walk to several restaurants, the peir and if you enjoy walking the Funk Zone is less than an hour away. The only negative for me were the puffy bed pillows (some people prefer them) I like a flat one so if you are particular bring one from home :)

Google
My stay at Mason Beach Inn was mixed. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, and there was no issue at all with self-parking. The front desk staff were polite and professional during check-in, which gave a good first impression. Unfortunately, the experience declined at checkout — the housekeeping staff were rude and made comments in Spanish while laughing as we walked past, which felt very disrespectful. The hotel also promotes a quiet-time policy, yet around 2 a.m., a group of guests returned and were very noisy for an hour, moving in and out of their rooms. Overall, while the rooms and facilities were fine, the lack of respect from some staff and guest noise made the stay unpleasant. Sadly, I would not choose to stay here again.

This Hotel Ruined My Birthday Weekend. Rating: 1/5 (Terrible) Clean and spacious room. Kitchen, glasses and microwave were a nice addition. I would've been perfectly happy, but a hard bed, hot room at night and the sofa bed for our 19 year old son definitely ruined the stay for us. I booked this place for my birthday weekend hoping for a relaxing break, and it was an absolute nightmare—all because of the AC. The major, deal-breaking problem is the AC. Every single night, without fail, the AC would completely shut down between 1 AM and 5 AM. The room became an oven, at 74⁰ in both, the bedroom and living room, making it impossible to sleep. We spent hours tossing and turning, getting up trying to change the temperature. But it's programmed to be like that, the AC in my office is the same, doesn't matter how many times you try to change the temperature, the AC is set for said temperature during certain hours. A nightmare. I literally almost cried around 4am because I was so tired. I ended up having to waste my vacation mornings just catching up on sleep, which completely ruined my plans. The bed is so hard, and that didn't help. The sofa bed, which is supposed to be another bed was so uncomfortable and you could feel every single spring. The lack of counter space around the sink was not my favorite thing but it's not a deal breaker given the bathrooms are recently remodeled and added a nice touch. They give you free alcoholic drinks at check in, but charge $6 for a small water bottle. Bottom line: A hotel stay is built on comfort and sleep. Since this hotel delivers neither, I will never stay here again and I absolutely will not recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
This is a great little spot for a one night sleep over. Stephanie at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were up to date and very clean. The hotel offers water in the front starting at 10am. The only recommendation I have would be to offer water earlier when people are checking out. They have cookies yet no water and no water fill station. When checking in they offer two alcoholic beverages yet you can't get water to fill up your water bottle before departure. The only option was to buy water bottles for a hefty price in the room fridge. Another downfall was the heater for the pool and jacuzzi was not working, however they were working on it during our stay. Lastly we asked if they had any tandem or attachments for the bikes for kids to ride with us, yet we never got a response after asking twice.

Yelp
We came for a weekend getaway. The hotel was nice, the rooms look like they have been recently updated and very clean. Decor was done really well, they have a welcome gift of some drinks. Staff were friendly and sufficient at their jobs. The spa was leaking out into the courtyard and needs some kind of repair. The location is really good, close to the pier and everything else in this small beach town. Definitely walkable with restaurants and the beach so close. Parking was affordable at $14 compared to some hotels down the street asking $30 per night. We didn't have any issues, everything worked well. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. It was somewhat the off season and prices weren't too bad, they are much pricier in the summer.

Yelp
I have no idea how this place doesn't have 5 stars, we are extremely picky with hotels and we LOVED it here! The rooms were modern and clean. The vibes were so fun and they gave us a welcome drink upon check-in which made our trip start off on the best note! It was in a great location between the beach, harbor, and about a 15 minute walk to the Funk Zone. It is definitely longer to get to downtown, especially the wineries like Grassini, LouBud, and Jamie Sloan (about a 25 minute walk with 50% of it lightly inclined) but very very manageable. The hotel even rents out bikes to ride, has a nice swimming pool and jacuzzi, ice machine, 24/7 coffee (decaf, medium roast, and dark roast) and tea, instant oatmeal, cookies, and apples. The front desk workers were SO nice! We were able to check in 3 hours early for about a 20 dollar fee. Parking was 18 dollars a night. We loved it here and would totally come back, we felt so safe!

Yelp
Really cute and nice hotel in an amazing location in Santa Barbara. When you check in there is a collection of free alcoholic drinks that you can choose from to have a mini happy hour which is cute. The hotel itself is not too big with only 2 floors total. The room decor is simple but cute and everything was furnished well and felt nice! We had a two bedroom queen and the beds were nice and comfortable. There is a fridge in the room but it's mainly for beverages that will be charged to the room if you drink them. Bathroom was upgraded but small and there isn't a fan for circulation. Pool had a really nice heated pool and jacuzzi in a courtyard type area that is lush. The location of the hotel is superior! We walked to the marina easily for lunch and to state street for dinner. There is a small charge for parking. We took the train and it was a short 8 minute walk from the train station. Hotel staff were friendly. Free coffee in the lobby in the mornings. I would definitely stay again!

Yelp
"What went well?" asks Yelp. My response- "EVERYTHING!" A solo impromptu trip to Santa Barbara had me searching the interwebs for great deals with equally great accommodations. Since I had never been to the area before, I had to take a chance on anything I chose based off of photos (possibly doctored), and all kinds of reviews. To be honest, the reviews for Mason Beach Inn were decent at best, so I managed my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by everything - from the grounds, to the actual rooms, and the service. I arrived a couple of hours early and luckily the room they had for me was ready. I was so tired from the drive up, I was able to rest before heading out for an evening walk downtown to explore. Close proximity to the beach, State street, the warf, etc. It is in a great location and I felt very safe, which is important for a solo female traveler. Upon check in, you get a choice of two free beverages on the house. I chose Stellas :) there isn't breakfast, but if you need a snack they have fresh cookies, oatmeal, coffee, fruit, and various teas all day in the lobby. Staff are so friendly and kind. They even have bikes to use on the premises, but I chose to walk everywhere. Also - the scent permeating through the hallways smells so delicious! I would definitely stay here again (and probably will TBH) because it's quiet and tranquil, and again a great place to stay for reasonable price. Thanks Mason Beach Inn!

Yelp
A cute little inn walking distance from the pier and a couple of other major stops in Santa Barbara. This area is a little dark but felt pretty safe somehow. The hotel rooms were a good size and very clean. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear my neighbors chatting away at midnight. Checking in was easy and we were provided with a complimentary wine or beer which was unexpectedly nice. Parking is $14/night which isn't too bad either. Solid central location to everything you want to do while also being secluded enough to get away from the motion.

Candace C.

Yelp
They provided free drinks at check in and the front desk staff was very kind. Room was clean and up to date. I love the monstera accent wall in our room. I definitely recommend this place if you're going to SB! The only caveat is no microwave. They don't have empty fridges in room for guests, but you can shove an item or two in the mini bar fridge.

Yelp
Super cute hotel, customer service is great, Martha was all smiles and so welcoming from the moment we pulled into the parking lot. I would stay here again without a doubt.

Yelp
enjoyed this cute boutique hotel, perfect location walkable to downtown santa barbara. the front desk was super sweet and helpful, offering early check in because we got there early. the pool was nice and the room was lovely. my only complaint was that the wifi was spotty, and all of the soap/shampoo was lemongrass scented and the smell was strong.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute hotel and while we overall enjoyed our stay, we did have some concerns with the amenities listed that were broken, ineffective ie not delivered. We attempted to reach out to management to rectify the situation during our stay but management was MIA. Asked to speak with management again upon checkout and they said only to email the general manager our concerns which was a confirmation for us that the management is not hands-on in this hotel. About a week later and several unanswered emails, they did reply and offered us a pathetic credit and a discount on a future stay. Learning from others guests that staff knew their Internet Wi-Fi and TV were not working upon our check-in, yet they didn't disclose it felt really shady and that speaks volumes to the management of the establishment.

Yelp
We were in town for the SBIFF and our daughter chose MBI for our lodgings. Check-in was quick and friendly, and we appreciated the complimentary beverages and cookies. They had a very nice ADA accessible suite with a King bed and a roll-in shower in a huge bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we had enough room to store both our mobility scooter and the rollator and still have room to move around. There wasn't a continental breakfast like you'd find at other places, but there is always coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies, oatmeal, and fruit available. There are lots of restaurants nearby. We stayed for two nights and found it a convenient, nice place to stay.

Yelp
Adrian Ruiz was wonderful. He was very kind and helpful. My third time staying at the Mason Beach Inn.The hotel is clean and the staff goes above and beyond my expectations. Especially Adrian! Tamara M.

Yelp
Mason Beach Inn is a cute boutique hotel located right down the street from the beach and within walking distance of everything you can ever want. The room and premises were immaculate and front desk staff were very cheerful and outgoing. Tommy Bahama bath amenities instantly transports you to the beach. At check-in, you are offered complimentary wine or beer and a little display of cookies which was a nice touch after a long drive. Walking to my room on the 2nd floor, I was blown away by the subtle melon fragrance that permeated the hallways. Indoor hallways that actually smell this good is definitely something that I didn't know I wanted in a hotel until coming here. Miguel & team runs the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Absolutely a 5 out of 5 experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Amazing location, friendly staff, very nice interior renovation with a modern, stylish design. Loved the pool and hot tub. I had a king room off the main corridor and it was very quiet. Super clean and everything felt luxurious and relaxing. Loved the welcome drinks and 24/7 snack bar - multiple coffee options and a great tea and cookie selection. Disclaimer: I haven't stayed elsewhere in Santa Barbara, Montecito, etc -- if you want to pay $500-$1,000+ a night, this isn't that. But it exceeded my expectations for a "moderate" room in this market and I would happily come back.
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Very nice property and very close to everything at the beach. People at desk were nice and helpful. Small hotel. Pool is nice. Was not loud when were were there, but it has the potential to I liked the coffee (rare for free coffee in a hotel lobby) and the cookies were good. Rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Appreciated the toilet and showers were behind a real door and walls. No breakfast like many others in the area. Parking was reasonable but there was plenty on the street for free.

Yelp
My husband and loved it. The room was very spacious and clean! Loved the location -can walk to the pier and State street. Loved the cookies and coffee that we free in the lobby - and some fresh fruit too! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great hotel overall! Rooms are super cute, location is great! 10/10 stay ! Can't think of any negatives or cons !! Rooms feel clean, hallways and main entrances smelt like heaven! Pool was a nice touch as well Definitely will be back!

Yelp
This was the accommodation we found closest to the pier & walking distance to the shopping/restaurant areas due to our last minute booking during Labor Day weekend. It's kind of cute from the exterior. The interior was pretty mediocre. The bed & pillow weren't too comfy & the TV channels were lacking. They offered free coffee & muffins which was a nice gesture.

Yelp
I checked in with my family for only one night yesterday. We are doing a roadtrip, staying in many hotels along the coast, and this was the best hotel we stayed in. The place is so charming, clean, beautifully decorated and it smells really good. The rooms are not small and very functional. The shower was amazing. But I think the cherry on the top is the customer service. Martha, the evening front desk person when we checked in, was so friendly, respectful and nice! Plus, we got a completely drink when we arrived. The staff when we checked out was also so great, but I forgot to get their names. Overall great experience, I will be coming back but to spend more nights next time

Yelp
Very impressed by this adorable Inn. Location is perfect in the most adorable neighborhood, close to everything. The staff was very accommodating, the rooms are updated and very comfortable, especially the bed. The pool was beautiful as well. I can't wait to stay here again

Yelp
I love everything about this hotel.....the staff, the location, the rooms, the welcome drink and everything else! Gee whom is a manager there is always amazingly helpful and kind!! I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at the Mason Beach Inn. The rooms are trendy and the amenities/location are perfect for a weekend getaway. Parking and wifi are free for guests and there is complimentary coffee in the lobby daily. The pool is well-maintained and perfect for lounging with plenty of spots in the sun as well as the shade. Lots of gorgeous plants surround the hotel and add a lush feel to the place. The location is definitely an added perk. It's located just off the beach and within walking distance of both State Street and the wharf! Four stars instead of five because our bathroom left a little to be desired. The toilet seat was askew and the drains for both the shower and sink were a little slow to drain. Nothing crazy, but just mildly annoying. We would totally stay here again!
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
They recently redid their entire hotel. It's so classy now! Great service. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went for 2 nights during the week in November. The inn is cute. Room was a good size with a king bed and a pull out sofa overlooking the pool. Noticed the pool and jacuzzi being cleaned each morning. It wasn't ever crowded and sometimes it was just my bf and I. Bed was comfy. Lobby has cookies (good ones), apples, tea, coffee, and instant oatmeal cups. Easy to check in and out online. Close to State Street at the water. Quiet and clean. Enjoyed our stay.

Donna C.

Yelp
Great location, service and accommodations! Inn is located within walking distance to Stearns Wharf and beach. Service provided by front desk was terrific. We appreciated the 2 free drinks upon check in. There is also complimentary cookies, tea and coffee in the lobby. Our room was clean, spacious and updated. We look forward to staying here again!

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights. Beautiful room! Very spacious! The bed and pillows were so comfy. I loved the coffee machine in the room. They offer you a beer/wine when you check in. Lovely touch! The coffee in the lobby is fresh all day long and very tasty. Everyone was very polite and friendly throughout our stay. We come to Santa Barbara often and we would stay here again!

Yelp
Make no mistake. Despite some beautiful design elements, this property is slightly a step above a motel. Uncomfortable bed with thread-bare, scratchy sheets. A fold-out couch that barely fits one person, much less two and squeaks every time you move. No central air/heating, but rather old school individual units. Weakest water pressure I've ever experienced and sadly no hot water during our first morning. Taking a cold shower when it's 50deg and raining outside does not feel like a vacation. And the toilet would intermittently make a noise that sounded like gun shots. Flushing the toilet woke up the entire family at 0130am during our first night. The robes would have been a nice touch is they weren't so stiff and rough. They felt like cardboard against the skin. Cleaning staff made the bed and brought towels. They didn't tidy up, bother putting a dirty plate in the sink or washing any of the dishes. We have stayed at so many great properties in SB over the years and this was a huge disappointment.

Yelp
We were both born and raised in Santa Barbara, and coming in to town for an event at the Carriage Museum. Being members of big chain hotels, we decided to venture out and try a boutique hotel experience. Mason Beach Inn had come up on social media. We lucked out with a three night reservation reserving one of their suites. The hotel is a beautiful. It's modern and clean, and in the perfect location. Easy walking distance to restaurants, the harbor, and boardwalk. The bed was super comfortable, towels & toiletries plentiful, coffee in room. The hotel lobby was fresh and bright with seating. There was fresh coffee, fruit & cookies at all times of the day. We didn't have a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi, but it was a good size in a protected location. Parking on the premises was plentiful, along with a charging station that could accommodate two cars at a time. We were really impressed with our entire experience, and hope to return in the near future. Oh, and did I mention the staff? Super friendly.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at Mason Beach Inn. I went with my family to visit the zoo and some fun sights in Santa Barbra. The rooms are clean the staff was super helpful. Even the manager Miguel Cuellar was so personal. On our return from outing he ask if we had a good time. And if we needed anything everyday . We booked the large suite to accommodate our family . It came with a kitchenette and microwave and fridge. We will be back next stay in Santa Barbara. Great location to harbor beach and restaurants.

Yelp
My husband planned a 2 day trip for spring break. The people from the front desk and all others who worked there are friendly people. The reason I'm giving a 3 star is because the room we stayed in the beds and pillows were not very comfortable at all. My poor girls my husband and I did not get a good night sleep at all. So we decided to leave one day early. Blessings

Yelp
I highly recommend this hotel, as it is perfectly located near State Street and wonderful dining/shopping. We walked the beach and enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Jeannine's as well as having a nice lunch one day at Lucky Penny in the funk zone and dinner at Finney's nearby. The hotel has very comfortable bedding, quiet atmosphere, very attentive staff and as I said before, a great location.
google avatar

Kristina D.

Yelp
So annoyed right off the get go. If you're going to charge for parking, just add it into the cost of the room. When I first arrive, I don't want to hear that I have to pay more money to park. Definitley never staying here again. It really put a damper on my mood. Is $14/day a lot? No...we can afford it. But why tell someone when they first arrive that they already have to dish out more money. . We only stayed here for the pool and jacuzzi for the kids. If you don't need those amenities. Go right down the street to Harbor House Inn. Bigger rooms and free parking.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem in Santa Barbara. Decided I needed a getaway weekend and booked a couple nights here on a whim after comparing with surrounding hotels. This one truly stands out for its value, location, amenities, hospitality, and gorgeous grounds. The staff was super efficient, kind & courteous, and very knowledgeable of the area! The room was spacious, modern, and exactly as pictured. I will be staying here again!

Yelp
I don't write reviews for hotels often. But Mason Beach Inn was just too amazing. We stayed in a suite to celebrate an anniversary with a baby and it was just incredible value. At the time of this review, they were offering a Stay 2 nights get 3rd free. Plus, after booking, there was an opportunity to earn free parking (normally $14/night, or get free bike rentals/$15 mini bar credit). The inn was renovated around 4 years ago per the staff, and some of the images don't do it justice. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool is heated and somewhat private. There is a 24hr free snack/coffee bar at the lobby. Location is amazing (2 blocks from the shore, between Stearns Wharf and SB harbor). Plenty of parking space, which makes it easy to load and unload; overnight street parking is available M-F and holidays, otherwise 90min SaSu. The few issues we would point out is that parts of the suite were dim (recessed lights would have done wonders) and the toilet occasionally acted up and sounded like a jackhammer when it flushed (this sounds terrible, but it honestly wasn't a big deal if it was during the daytime). Would definitely stay here again!

Chris G.

Yelp
Been here twice already. Great service. Small hotel so it's easy access to your car, lobby for snacks and coffee/tea, fruit and close to the beach and restaurants. Will come back (again)!

Lisa H.

Yelp
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM! But if you do and booking cancels your trip, you're in amazing hands! I got to the hotel and found our Booking.com canceled my trip! I had no clue why but they did. The manager Miguel and the front desk started finding a way to accommodate us with an already booked hotel. We have been coming here for the last 4 years and love it. Traveling alone with my daughters I've always felt very safe! The vibe is so chill, coffee ready for you in the morning, come and go as you please, the entire hotel staff is wonderful. Go to Trader Joe's grab snacks head to the pool. Towels are ready for you, the entire hotel is very clean. The rooms are always clean and comfortable! You are a block away from the beach and yummy restaurants. Take it from me this is where you should book. But next year I'll book directly thru the Mason Inn. And yes they matched my price my from booking.

Yelp
Toilet was clogged our entire stay. I put in a request in the evening and they claimed there was no one available to look at it. They also claimed they were fully booked and couldn't transfer us to a new room. We had to use the lobby toilet the whole time we were there. I asked for someone to come by as early as they could the next morning. No one did. When I checked out I mentioned that the toilet was clogged. The receptionist said there was no request or notice put into their system about it. She didn't seem to care about it or apologize about it. Service is crap there. Main redeeming value is its location.

Yelp
If I could give more then 5 stars I would! Our stay here was amazing! The rooms were very clean, the staff was very kind and the pool/dining area was fantastic! Would definitely recommend! Don't listen to any of these bad reviewers!

Yelp
We really wanted to enjoy our stay here for our 9th anniversary. Great location within walking distance of the beach and pier. Nice restaurants right around the corner. Free parking! But you can tell the staff didn't take enough time to clean the room. For the price of the room, I shouldn't have to wipe down the toilet because it has dried blood (or worse, ) still on the rim. The comforter in between the sheets had old (probably) blood stains on them. If you can't get stains out, the blankets should be thrown completely out. The sink also didn't appear to be properly cleaned. We were in room 101, right outside the utility room which is apparently where the staff hang out and loudly talk & laugh ALL THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT! I couldn't sleep at all. Not to mention, one of the guys knocked on our door for no reason. He apologized, but I still wondered why. Jacuzzi was out of service. At this point, we wished we would have just stayed home. It was late & I didn't feel like going to the front desk with all my complaints. I figured the young lady at the front desk would ask me about my stay upon check-out in the morning (like all front desk clerks do) and I would let her know then. She did not. She couldn't have cared any less about my stay.

Yelp
Well, first a couple of positives. The inn location is great walking distance to beach and not too far from State St. I did find inn to be nice as pics. After our long drive to SB my wife and I were looking forward to checking in to our room but was told it wouldn't be ready for hour and a half. Which put us to a 6:20 pm check in! This has never happened to us anywhere. We were told that they were short on staff and no manager on duty. After my wife used the restroom, I noticed something on her blouse, they must of used bleach on the toilet seat which of course bleached and ruined her blouse. We were there for two nights stay and there was never a manager to be found. I truly wanted to like the Mason but with the above situations it was not possible.

Yelp
I bought 4 Travelzoo vouchers to take a mini trip with some of my friends and finally get together after our vaccinations. We were really excited. We arrived at checkin time and the front desk girl was less than welcoming. She asked for the pins. I had purchased these vouchers months ago. She sat dryly expecting me to understand what she meant. Since I thought this was all taken care of in the reservation stage, I was confused. I had to pry out what she needed. After receiving our keys, I told my friends this clerk needed some customer service training badly. She is not cut out for face to face service with people. Management/owners would do themselves a huge boost to this boutique hotel to either train their staff properly or hire people with people skills. First impressions are huge. The rooms were remodeled but not terribly clean. I'm a stickler on a hotels cleanliness. The bathroom floors were dirty or stained. The hallway wasn't vacuumed. It's hard not to have a newly renovated place not look perfect but they have. I use Travelzoo to try new places. I worked in the travel industry for 30 years and travel usually once a month when times are normal. I will not recommend this place nor return. Too bad, your marketing efforts via Travelzoo have been wasted. I see you have put a new offer on Travelzoo. Maybe, hire some happy, efficient people and you will have more success.

Yelp
Horrible experience with the front desk. They really do not know what they are doing. For this little no frills should be one star, they charge for bikes, parking everything-big hold charges on my card. moved a reservaiton from peak, to off season and they said no difference. so demanded we pay the same. Really unpleasant experience. There are a lot of other options in SB which are nice.

Yelp
This charming oasis is walking distance from the beach and restaurants. This property is immaculate and family-friendly. Cannot wait to come here again!

Yelp
Newly renovated hotel near in a good area. Parking can be a challenge when this hotel is full, but we were able to find parking luckily otherwise you'll have to find parking in the street. Room was clean and modern, only complaint is the weed smell in the hallways that it seeps into our room. We tried blocking it out with a towel by the door but last night it was strong. Wish people would smoke outside in respect to others who have pulmonary issues. Also saw the housekeeping staff not wearing their mask. Overall decent stay probably not return in the future due to the smell.

Yelp
Be aware, not clean for COVID-19!!!! We went last weekend to this hotel, when we got to the room, it was apparently clean, bed was made but after looking better, the bathroom mirror was full of water marks, like someone spit on it, and we found a champagne bottle top in the bathroom! If we did not see that, we will have been expose to the virus! If the room is not properly cleaned after the guest!!!! We've complained to the office and they changed our room immediately but the hostess said to me, oh not the first time!!! Not save

Yelp
The staff is very very accomodating and friendly, rooms and pool were clean and quiet. A big + is free parking! You can walk to downtown in under 15 minutes from the hotel

Yelp
There is a certain expectation that comes with paying a couple of thousand dollars for a suite. This is not the first time we stayed at this place, and unfortunately, the overall experience has gone downhill when initially we really enjoyed the location and newer conditions of the premises compared to nearby places we tried. One less star for very late room cleaning (closer to 3pm every day at nap time) (despite politely requesting the room be cleaned early in the morning) One less star for the floor being filthy (try to walk with white socks on the floor) One less star for the lack of transparency and charges after we checked out (and a vague 'resort fee' answer when I called and they couldn't justify some of the amounts. Very sad, this used to be our favorite place in Santa Barbara

Yelp
Lovely spot! Ambiance and decor was amazing! The rooms were roomy and nice. The pool area was so cute and welcoming. The little extras were nice too. They had coffee, tea and treats in the lobby as well as providing 2 complimentary drinks at check in. Staff was pleasant. The location is also great. You can walk to the beach, wharf, pier or State street where there's restaurants and shopping. Loved this little gateway!

Yelp
Although I truly enjoyed my visit during the Christmas season, this summer I've found there's changes in the management. The parking is no longer free to guests despite not offering security or any assurance there will be no damage to vehicles. Another guest shared his car was damaged during his stay the day before to my arrival and the Mason Inn Manager did nothing to assist him in his insurance claim. On the other hand. Internet is extremely deficient and slow, we couldn't stream a video call meeting or even watch a movie in any of our portable devices. Based on the cost of parking, rest assured the stale coffee in the lobby isn't free anymore... internet speed should have better speed and broadband. During the Christmas season besides getting free parking, there was only one lady taking care of the front desk and many calls with issues from the inn's rooms, in our case we had no AC/ heat in our room, the control was broken and she unfortunately couldn't fix the problem. I'm surprised the inn is being reported as fully booked in September, as there's many empty rooms...not sure what's going on here. Even the inn next door has plenty of accommodations, which by the way has an enclosed garage. We never complained about the lady because it was clear she was spreading thin with many technical difficulties. I know that the main issue in the past was the unfriendly staff, but nowadays, it seems to be utterly unacceptable lack of care to guests. It's a pricey accommodation we like for its cleanliness, but it seems between the slow internet, lack of responsiveness due to short staff, and lack of security in the open parking lot despite being now being additionally charged is making this place less appealing.
